21| I trust you
'I have trust issues, I guess we all do.' -Unknown

As the guard took me to the gates I smiled as I saw my friends near the office, Megan, Tara, and Sasha were smiling at me, other people were minding their own businesses.
My mother and Fred followed by, talking with the officers.
"Dude! What happened?" She asks.
"1) I'm not a dude, 2) I got framed for murder," I state, they all nod, giving a sympathetic look.
"Where's Adrian?" I ask, searching my eyes for him.
"Adrian isn't coming...yet." She emphasizes.
I give her a quizzical look. "What do you mean, yet?" I copy.
"DOn't worry, so why do you have a bruise around your eye?" Sasha intervenes, smiling nervously.
"Umm... I had a Jail buddy, she has bad anger issues." I say, touching my eye gently, it hurts so I wince.
"You should get it checked out," Megan says.
"Yeah - I will later."
"So why'd they let you go? I mean even if you killed that guy?" Tara asks. I give her a look, and she looks at me in concern. "It was a girl, his sister."
"WOW! You sure kill everyone don't you." Megan says, chuckling.
Tara gives her a deadpan look, Sasha looks at her absolutely horrified. I give her a small look of hurt. "Where has my mom gone off to?"
I see her further back looking quite worried, so I head over.
"Oh no..." She begins. "is this really what they said as a final verdict." She says to the man, he is old and handsomely, in an old woman's perspective that is.
"Hey, mom what's up?" I show that I'm here and give a small smile.
"Darling can you follow this kind man to the offices, you need to put something on." My mom says, her eyes looking away from mine.
"Umm ok, sure." I follow him through, my mom gives me one last look of pity, so does Fred. Although his looks are quite infuriated. Second doubts? Why did I marry a family with such a horrid past?
True question though, why did we leave our demons behind and let them catch us up, revealing our identities and allowing them to scar our hearts. I will no longer be loved the same way he did. To feel love is to trust and fee a bond of caring and fulfilling.
Chase was sweet at first a perfect first boyfriend, but he turned out what I didn't expect. He sometimes even abuses me, he'd get pissed, and he'd hit me. Sometimes it was alcohol but my conscience proved that drunk speaks and act real thoughts and feelings.
He never loved me.
Despite that, I pretended from that day one ward, I would never love anyone like that.
Poor Fred, Misty, and Christy, even though my moms add Tiffany's is coming up, Fred looked like he would hurt her. And I promised I wouldn't have a man hurt my mom's or mine's feelings. I promised myself I'd look after us too. Now that Rick is gone, I hope we're all happy. I mean Fred was just starting to get all fatherly with me, I never bothered. I always hated him for marrying my mom as I thought he'd hurt her. I was wrong...
All the sweet moments always lasted and he loved me in a special way, he'd always consider me his daughter, his own flesh, and blood. So that's why I reasoned with it all and thanked God for a perfect father.
But now, his look... is he going to call the wedding off?
I watch as they argue, their emotions mingled in a single battlefield full of fire and anguish. I turn around and face a blue door, he opens the door as I enter. He gestures for me to sit and gets something out of the cabinet.
A man and a woman come in and plaster a tracking device on my ankle. "This anklet will track where you are, in case you murder someone in cold blood." She sneers.
"You really think I'd do that to a sister I loved, someone who I deared for to be taken away from me in the most cruelest way?!" I clench my fists as the anklet is activated. It beeps and they look at their phones.
"It works." The man lets out a suppressed chuckle and high fives the other guy and woman who sneers. "Yes, it will finally put criminals like her away for good."
I grit my teeth together. "I didn't do it," I say, biting the tears back.
They chuckle, then the man stands close by to me. "If we see you at other places rather where you shouldn't be like parties, your gone..."
I have a feeling he's not letting on more than he should.
"W-what?" My voice is high-pitched.
"You're basically in prison for eternity." The woman says, laughing.
This is a nightmare, its got to be.
"And when will this thing come off?" I ask, feeling outraged.
"Hmm its for me to know and for you to find out." He says nonchalantly, he raises a brow when opening the door for me.
They all laugh at my anklet. I ignore them as I run down the hall ready to get out of here.

The drive home is quiet, Megan, Tara, and Sasha sit at the back with me, with my mom and Fred at the front.
I twiddle my fingers. It's ok to be scared, it just prepares you for the worst in life. A smile tugs at my lips as I see my house pull up in view. free stops the car, we all jerk upwards. He closes the door not opening it for my mom.
She sighs and heads out, my friends do too. They don't notice the behavior between the two. Only I do, I make a note not to tell them as I'm not going to intervene in this argument.
As they open the door, I notice everything is evidently quiet. My mom's head sot the kitchen to warm up the kettle. Fred goes to the living room.
Are the twins babysitter by Adrian?
I still am confused how he looks handsome every time I see him. He smirks at me, as he grasps his hands around my arms and tucks me in, his face inches from mine.
"Hey, beautiful." He says, smiling.
I blush and couldn't hide it away as he is looking directly at me, and me only.
You may think he'd look at the twins pulling his jeans down, tugging on it or the girl's making comments around us.
His eyes are only melting in mine and mine only.
"How bad was it?" He asks, looking at me, I point to my anklet and my reaction to it not so happy at all. He frowns, "They still don't trust you, huh?"
"Seems about it."
"Let me make your day then." He places an arm over my shoulder, it's not easy as he doesn't plant his whole weight on me. My God no... that would be.... yeah.
We enter the kitchen every stands around a cake with some candles. I face them with a confused expression. "Why the cake?"
"Well your out fo hell, you've been there for 3 weeks now, we missed you." The girls say I couldn't see by a number of bodies around me, blocking my view.
"Guys, please, don't make me celebrate when..." I looked around for my mother to find she isn't here longer.
Help me.
Sh is the only one who knows.
The police from the other town probably supported my case with this town's useless piece of no-gooders, the ones who laughed at me.
"Please no." I run away into my bedroom, I head inside and lock the door.
I sit plastered in my bed, sobs coming from my being. "Why-why-why," I say.
This time I get up to the wall, the wall I leashed my anger out upon. I hit the wall harder and harder, my fists pounding in it, they were severely ripped apart with blood on them ."WHY WHY WHY!" I yelled repeating.
I kept punching and punching and punching, till a strong grip tore my hands away from making any more contact with the wall.
My eyes looked upon Adrain. He looked confused, I frowned at him then that frown turned into a glare. "Go away, please." It came out more of a whisper.
He looked at me with petrified eyes. "Do you trust me?" He asks.
"What?"
What on earth does that mean?
"I said do you trust me?" he asks, his emotions searching mine, his eyes are dark and cloudy. If that's the case, how could I ever trust you.
But I promised myself I would before.
"I trust you," I mutter, the words out, did I mean it, I surely did right.
His emotions relax as his eyes glisten empathy. But why?
"Good, ahem.." He coughs and looks at my hands.
"We need to get them sorted." He pulls me towards my first aid kit.We have one in the very room, he then takes out bandages and some old liquid. He puts the liquid on the cotton buds it stings, he looks at me with remorse. "Sorry."
"It's ok."
"So tell me about this Evelynn girl... was she nice or you know what girls are?" He asks.
"Yeah much more she had a special glow in her eyes, it would always light up in an amusing way she loved to see people every day always cared for her dog and always helped out. Better than Avery even if she was popular." I said, a smile on my lips, he looked at me with a smile pleading its way in.
"Wow - sounds like you loved her like she was a sister to you." He says.
"Yeah, Eve was merely a good friend who landed in my hands, her brother Chase was my boyfriend, he had issues, but we managed through," I explained, not telling him what he did to me, behind the perfect selfies and cuddles.
He was more than a devil!
I felt him stiffen when I said he was my boyfriend. He looked at me with no words or emotions. He then kept his cool, clenching his jaw a little.
"Boyfriend huh?" He repeated, not in a hysterical way. He just kept his cool and I went along iwth it. Although i wouldn't miss out the awkwardness between us.
He gave my hand back, but reluctantly gave it, his smile,e was ever so pure. I wanted to touch those lips...
No shut up!
He is just random friend, nothing more, nothing less.
"Adrian?" He looks at me quickly, I gasp a little, how do I ask him.
"Yeah what?" His words are a little slurred, it straight up hurt.
"Lizbeth, my name is Lizbeth I have a hidden identity, I trust you so I'll tell you, why, It's not only to hide from my dad, its to hide from Chase, who is now dead. My dad is still out there wanting to take us back and torture us in the most cruelest way ever."
He tenses and his eyes look at me, I look away.
"Can I tell you the full story tomorrow, I'm tired?" I get up and let out a yawn. He nods and takes my downstairs.
When we head down, Fred and the girls are gone.
My mom is it's at the kitchen counter smashing her fists into the vanilla cake.
R.I.P cake.
But I hurry to my mom and I assure her its all ok, Adrain head out. "I'll go, please call me later about it."
I give a nod and smile as he leaves, then I return my gaze on my mom. "Mom, what on earth happened? Where's Fred and the twins?" I ask, pushing her to meet my gaze, she pushes me away.
"Gone... because of you." She walks away.
Those words hurt me, the pain is evident and spread across my face. My mom and I always admired and loved each other like Bff's. But now, she despises me, me being in Jail made them go and now...
"Mom it's not like that!" I shout out.
She shuts the door, I hear muffled sobs and when she comes out.
"I wish, I wish I never met him, and if I didn't I wouldn't cope with you or him. I would live a happy life, with my own little book reading club!" her sobs are quiet and heart-breaking.
I reach for her grasp but she lets go, shutting herself out again.
"Mom you don't mean it, you're too hurt to realize how much those words are lies. You and I were Bff's were always together having fun." I say, putting some excitement in my voice.
The next words hit me hard.
"Go live with him. He still loves you more than myself." Her voice is broken and high-pitched. I suck in all the oxygen I need, but it isn't enough, my eyes are full of despair and hot flooded tears, turning blood-shot red. "M-om." My voice breaks as a soft whisper.
"I don't love him, I love you," I say, punching the door with all my might, hoping she'd open up.
She didn't the whole night she didn't. I sat at my desk doing homework for tomorrow.
Thinking where would the future lead me as a 'Murderer' where would my family end up.
I knew Fred always regretted proposing. but I would make him love her, tomorrow I'd visit their house after school. The wedding is still on mark my words. I would make sure my mom and Fred where happy followed by the twins excitement enlightening around.
All I ever wanted was to be happy.
But I found out the hard way, that happiness pays a price.
I glanced at my anklet, at my ankle, it was glowing yellow emaning they were active and tracking. I sighed and cuddled my elbows around my head.
