(eh-LIE-us CASS tell AH no)

Work. Sleep. Repeat. That was my life. I never complained. I didn't know of many self-made twenty-six year olds that own a Multi-billion dollar company. I put my blood, sweat and tears into everything I did. I never half-assed anything, I gave everything my all.

My success correlated to my work ethic. There was zero time for distractions. My life was repetitive and fast paced, but I reveled in my accomplishments they pushed me to want more.

My life became more hectic than before when I had made the decision to open a nightclub. I would spend my day at the office and after went straight to the club. I had to make sure the construction and interior décor were running smoothly and to my standards. No need to deny, that I am a man with particular taste.

When the club finally finished I was relieved. The grand opening night was a success. We had reached full capacity in under two hours. But my club's success was not the only highlight of that night. Some of it, owed to the beautiful brunette.

It was hard not to noticed her. The way her beautiful honey colored eyes stared at me, it damn well made me breathless. Once she noticed me looking back at her. She turned around in horror. It made me laugh, I couldn't remember the last time I had. The pull I felt too big to ignore. I needed to talk to her.

And like hell, did I not regret it. When she spoke her sweet raspy voice sounded like a melody in my ears. Her voice was not the only thing that caught my attention. She had to be the most sexiest woman I'd ever seen. The dress she wore fit her curves perfectly. I swear her light brown eyes sparkled every time she smiled.

For the first time, I was having a conversation with someone that wasn't about business and it felt nice. She was a little tipsy and overshared but I did not mind it. I enjoyed her company. I was only teasing when I said I would kiss her but a part of me wanted her to say yes.

When she kissed me with those full lips of hers it took everything in me to stop. I wanted nothing more but to take her to my place right then and there. But I didn't want to do that to her. She deserved someone to wine and dine her. Treat her like the princesa she was and I knew I couldn't give that to her.

She had been the perfect diversion even though it was only for a couple minutes. It had been two weeks and I still couldn't get her out of my mind.

My attention shifted to my office door when Alexander, my chief operation officer breezed in.

"Hey man, you okay? It seems like a ghost had possessed your body when I walked in. What the hell you thinking about?"

"Shut up, what the fück are you doing in my office anyway? Don't you have work to do?"

"What do you think I'm here for? I'm not one of your little fangirls that like seeing your face. I have some resumes for the accounting position, thought we could look them over together."

"You could've fooled me, here I was thinking you were my biggest fan."

I looked over the resumes briefly choosing the ones I wanted and discarding the ones I didn't. Until one resume in particular caught my attention.

Scarlett Delacruz.

The same first name of the woman I had kissed at my club that night. The universe must be playing tricks, I just couldn't escape thinking about this woman.

I highly doubted this could be the same Scarlett of that night. There had to be millions of people with the exact same name. Well there's 6,488 Scarlett's in the U.S alone so that had to narrow it down some right? I exited out of internet browser and put my iPhone back on my desk. I needed to check the date of birth. The Scarlett from the bar had to be in her twenties.

December 31 1994.

This could be purely coincidental. I continued to look at the resume as I relaxed back on my chair. Recently graduated from a local state college with her Bachelors of Business. Worked at Anderson corporations for three and a half years. Hmm, Anderson corporations was a competitor of ours, that could come in handy. She also cut production cost and raised profit revenue, which was incredibly impressive.

I knew chances were slim of the possibility of it being the Scarlett from that night but either way even if it wasn't, this woman's resume was impressive. What would happen if it actually was her?

"Did you find the cure for cancer in that resume? You've been looking at it for more than twenty minutes."

Ignoring his question I handed him the resume. "I want you to set up an interview with her as soon as possible. Also these three as well. Make sure you set up the interview with her first, then the others."

Alexander looked at the resume as he sat back in the chair putting his hand over his chin. "Elias she is not even qualified. She does not even have her masters yet. Maybe for a lower position, she would be great but for this position she does not seem like a great fit."

"Are you questioning my judgement Alexander?"

"No, I'm just wondering what your angle is here Elias?"

I took a deep breath, Alexander was really testing my patience." Have I ever made a wrong judgement when it comes down to my company? She could be an asset, knowing how Anderson operates could give us some insight on their daily operations. She also graduated at the top of her class in college. I want to give her a trial period and of course she will have to finish her master's degree."

Alexander shook his head in disbelief "Fine, I will interview her but I'm telling you this is waste of –"

"No, you won't be needed. I will interview her."

"Has hell froze over or I'm I in the damn twilight zone? When have you ever interviewed potential new hires? Do you know her?"

I pinched the bridge of nose and flattened the lapels of my suit "Alexander I will not repeat myself again. Set up the interview and I will handle the rest. And that will be the last time you question my judgement again. Is that clear?"

"Won't happen again." Alexander huffed, storming out of my office.

I looked at my Rolex for what felt like the tenth time today. She would be here any minute now. As soon as I heard the faint knock on my door, anticipation crept in.

"Come in."

Before me stood a petite absolutely breathtaking brunette wearing a pencil skirt that hugged her body perfectly. Her white blouse looked mesmerizing against her tan skin and could not hide her full breasts from trying to peak through. My thoughts went wild. I wasn't particularly proud of that but I could not help it.

For some odd reason, her eyes remained glued to the floor almost as if she was afraid to fall. I saw her body tense when she finally looked up.

She remembered me.

"Hello Ms. Delacruz, please have a seat."

I quickly walked over and pulled the chair back so she could sit. I stood until she sat down, her face became pale and I wanted to make sure she did not faint. When she finally sat down I went back to my chair resting my hands on my desk. I forced myself to look straight into her eyes even though my eyes were wanting to wander elsewhere.

"I have to say Ms. Delacruz, I am very impressed with your resume. Graduating top of your class probably was not an easy task."

She kept her gaze away from me as she played with the hem of her skirt. "Uhh, yeah it was hard but the end result was worth it."

"I'm also interested in your previous position. You were head of accounting at Anderson Corporation and recently quit. Was there a reason why?"

She kept her gaze even though it seemed to make uncomfortable."It just wasn't a good fit and I wanted to explore different options. " She hesitated "I'm sorry Mr. Castellano. I think, I should go."

Her eyes began to water. Why was she crying? Did I say something wrong? I pulled out my handkerchief from my suit and handed it to her.

"Excuse me? I'm in the middle of interviewing you for a very lucrative position at my company and you want to leave? Did something I say make you upset?"

Grabbing the handkerchief she patted her tears away. "Mr. Castellano... no of course not. Its just that I'm not sure if you remember but I am the woman you kissed at the club two weeks ago? I'm not sure, if it is exactly professional to work here because of that."

I leaned forward, wanting her to comprehend the seriousness of my tone. "Ms. Delacruz, I assure you that you are not an easy woman to forget. We did not know each other when that happened, we also expected to never see each other again. I'm sure when you applied for this position you didn't know it was me and neither did I. Therefore, I don't see how working together is unprofessional."

She put the handkerchief down in her lap, looking around the room before she answered. " I.. I don't know Mr. Castellano. I don't want anyone to believe that I got this job because we have some sort of history."

"It is not anyone's business what we did. Ms. Delacruz, are you afraid that I will kiss you again? Because I can assure you I won't. Our relationship would be strictly professional. The position is yours if you want it."

Her eyes widened as she shook her head. "Wait, you're telling me you want me to have this position?"

"It would be a trial period to see how well you do. If you do well, the job is yours under one condition, I want you to finish your master's degree."

Her facial features relaxed almost as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. "That is no problem, Mr. Castellano. I'm  enrolled in a accelerated online masters degree program. It will not be long before I finish."

"Great, Ms. Delacruz I'm looking forward to having you. I want you to be here tomorrow eight am sharp, not a second late."

She handed back my handkerchief. "Yes Mr. Castellano, of course. Thank you so much for this opportunity and for giving me a chance."

Walking over to her I extend my hand out. "Ms. Delacruz, I don't live my life by chance. I hired you because you are qualified for this position and I think you will be great asset. Please do not make me regret my decision. "

She flattened her skirt as she stood looking down at my hand. "No, Mr. Castellano that will not happen. I guarantee you."

I smiled as she shook my hand confidently and walked out. Something about this woman had me completely intrigued.
