Nothing

Imogen

"What about me?" he chimed, making my eyes roll instantly.

Already, from his husky voice, I could tell it was Drew. I turned my head to face him, keeping eye contact with his emotion filled emerald eyes. Normally those eyes would have me melting, but now I couldn't look past his dark eye bags.

"Are you sure you want that answer?" I asked, tapping my finger on my lip.

"Yeah, I do," Drew answered.

I moved closer to him, placing my hand on his chest. Seems like he's losing his shape. Maybe if he didn't spend his life obsessing over me than he would have kept his muscular figure.

"Well, since you asked," I smirked, pulling his neck down while also going on my tippy toes. "Your garage! A waste of space like your crackhead father!" Imogen whispered, nibbling his ear before letting him go.

A pin could drop in the room and everyone would hear it, that's how silent it was. This kind of thick silence would normally frighten me, especially on inky night deviod of even moonlight or stars, but tonight it chilled me.

"Wow, you weren't kidding," Frankie said, nudging Katherine with her elbow.

Ignoring them, I strolled downstairs in search of any alcohol available. Hopefully mom had alchol hidden somewhere because Rebel doesn't buy alcohol since I'm in the house. I opened the wooden white cabinets, dropping dozen of ingredients into the sink. Finally, a bottle of vodka was in sight, I reached over causing several glasses to tumbled down and shatter.

Who needs a cup right? I popped the lid, and raised the glass to sip, feeling that keen burn on her tongue and throat-- a burn that made me recoil. I was greatly surprised with the presences of Rebel, Katherine and Lucas behind me.

"Stop drinking!" Rebel demanded, grabbing the vodka bottle in my hand and forcing it away from me.

I groaned. "Don't tell me what to do! You're not my father," I answered, taking the bottle from his grasp.

"I'm the closest thing you have to a father so yes I can tell you what to do," Rebel raised his voice, his cheeks puffing out with anger. Katherine stood behind him, softly rubbing his back to bring him back down from his fury.

"Calm down, Rebel. You don't have to worry. I can bring her back," Katherine muttered.

"Stop talking about me like I'm not here! I don't want to go back to being poor, delicate, worthless Imogen anymore!" I shouted, chucking the vodka bottle at the wall causing shattered pieces to roam the floor.

"It's for the best, Imogen," Katherine said, shifting in front of Rebel to shield him from me.

The only rational way to keep myself save was to cause a distraction. I opened the drawer, grabbing a butcher knife that shined in the light. Gripping on it securely before continuing on with my steps.

"For you but not for me," I answered, moving forward to my brother and his disturbing girlfriend.

"Yes for you! The only effect is going to be you hating yourself. Please, think and don't ruin everything you worked so hard for," Katherine proclaimed.

"What else can I ruin? My family is all dead, my two soulmate are so obsessed with me that it's concerning. Yes, I'm talking to you, Lucas," I said, making direct eye contact with the blue-eyed boy in the walkway. "I'm only with you because you're name was written on my wrist. If it wasn't for the wrist I would have left your ass months ago!"

"Remember Lucas, she doesn't mean anything she's saying. It's the potion now not Imogen," Katherine reassured.

"Can you stop telling people that! I am the real Imogen! Everything coming out of my mouth is what I really felt behind my innocent facade!" I shouted, the bitterness overwhelming me.

I secured my grip around the butcher knife and charged towards my brother. Katherine gripped my shoulder, holding me back but I jabbed the knife in her arm cutting a sizeable chunk. She retreated her arm, yelling a couple of profanities.

"What are you doing?" Rebel asked, kneeling down to help his girlfriend.

Once I caused a distraction I will be free to leave this confining house.

"Nothing," I smirked, snatching his collar and yanking him upwards. Before he could make any movements I plunged the butter knife into his stomach and was filled with great satisfaction when repeating the same motion several times.

I dropped him to the floor, letting Katherine catch his oozooing body. Katherine grabbed onto my leg but I forced my left out of her grip and kicked her in the face. I rushed out of the house, slamming the door behind with no worries in the world.

Quickly, pulling out my phone and searched for the bus schedule going anywhere far from here. The website said the next bus would be arriving in thirty minutes and had multiple destination. Perfect, I always wanted to travel outside of this little town.

Right next to the bus stop was a small store with ATM sign in front of it. I would need the money once I reached my new town and to rent a hotel for a few nights. I opted to go with a thousands dollars to start with which should suffice for now.

There in the corner of the bench stands a tree, her bark so patterned as if carved by her own rain-born flash rivers. She stretched up, as if so proud to stand there under the sun in any weather. Luckily, for me it was shielding the sun that was beginning to rise from burning my pale delicate complexion.

My eyes kept wandering to my watch, wondering why the bus took ages to arrive. The bus needed to appear fast so I can lower the risk of seeing Rebel again. I continued playing mobile games, tapping my foot against the pavement waiting for what seemed like years.

Finally, as I started drifting off the bus parked by the stop and I immediately jolted up. I handed the driver my ticket and made my way to the first open seat. Hopefully, not too many other people brought tickets and the bus won't get packed. Sadly, my prayers weren't answered and the bus was piling up quickly.

Almost all of the seats were taken up besides mine and few others. There's no way I'm letting perverts getting the chance to sit next to me. At the next stop, an elder man, a father with a child, and young man in his twenties entered the bus. The young man hair was a mop of blond strands, framing his eyes which were blue like the sky. Our eyes locked immediately, and he raised his brow, slowly licking his bottom lip.

Might as well pretend that I'm interested. It wouldn't hurt to have a man wrapped around your finger doing all your betting. I already had two at home and another wouldn't hurt. I placed my hand on my lap playing with the loose strands on the edge of my dress.

"Hi, sweetheart is this chair taken?" he asked, swiftly placing the pencil in his hand behind his ear.

"It is now," I smirked, twirling my hair to show my interest in him.

"Thank you! Umm," he said, placing his bag underneath his chair while waiting for my response.

"Oh, Imogen," I said, handing my hand over for him to shake.

"I'm Kai," he smirked, grabbing a firm hold of my hand. "So, were are you heading, Imogen?"

"Wherever destiny takes me," I yawned, stretching my hands over my head. "What about you?"

"Anywhere but here," he answered, spreading his legs and having our legs touching slightly.

"Are you running away from something?" I asked, furrowing my brows in confusion.

"Maybe that's apart of the mystery sweetheart," he smirked, nudgeing my shoulder slightly.

His flirt game is horrible.

"Well, Mr.Mystery I'm liking you already," I commented, leaning against his shoulder to catch some slumber.

"Good because I'm interested in you too," he replied, gently stroking my hair helping fall asleep faster. "Night night, sweetheart."

Rebel POV

Instead of running after Imogen, Katherine and Lucas wasted their time making sure I was okay. Hello, regeneration. The knife surprisingly didn't hurt as much as the first time maybe someone could get used to being stabbed. Nothing compared to the pain Drew made me felt when he slit my throat.

"Guys, you should have went after her!" I groaned, harshly pulling the knife from my abdomen.

"I wanted to make sure you were okay," Katherine sighed, brushing my locks out from my face and softly stroking my check.

"I'm okay. It will be heal but we have lost precious minutes. We need to find her before she does something more outrageous," I said, melting into my girlfriend's touch.

"Don't worry I'll be able to find her in minutes," Katherine said, digging through her biker jacket's pocket and pulling out a folded piece of paper.

She moved over to the coffee table, pushing the other items cuttered on the table. Katherine unfolded the paper and tried straightening out on the table. Glancing over, I noticed it appeared to be map of the country.

"How did you fold that perfectly?" Frankie asked.

"It just works out," Katherine shrugged her shoulders. "All you have to do is pour the blood of a relative from the person you're looking for and the map will locate them for you," she explained.

"Okay. . ." I warily said.

"Give me your hand," Katherine said, flicking a pocket knife open.

I didn't think twice and handed her my hand. She poured an odd liquid on the map than took my hand in hers. Her eyes soften as they bore into mine, I nodded reassuring her that everything will be fine. She glided the knife softly against my palm causing me to wince. I squeezed my hand turning it into a fist, making sure the little drops of blood landed on the map.

Once the blood landed on the map it started moving on it's own. It went down the edge of the map, going down past several cities. How did Imogen get so far so soon? It has been thirty minutes since she made an escape but she was already traveling at a fast pace.

"Seems like she plans to head to Miami," Katherine explained, "Anyone cared to join us on the journey?"

"Me!" Lucas said, raising his hand.

"Hey, don't forget me," Drew groaned.

"Okay, just don't bite each other's heads off! We meet in an hour at the bus station if your late than well you're not coming," I said, shooing them away.

Frankie decided to stay home and watch over everything. Who knows maybe Imogen we return to her senses and come back home while we're gone. At least a brother could pray, right?

"Are you going to rush home and pack?" I asked.

"No, I can buy new outfits if needed. I'll help you pack instead," Katherine smiled, grabbing a hold of my hand causing them to produced sweat.

We walked up to my room together, bringing back many memories together.

"I haven't been here since I've met your mom," she giggled, admiring the photos on my desk. "Remember when your mother wouldn't stop taking pictures of us?"

"Oh, yes that was so embarrassing," I replied, my entire face feeling like it was thousands degrees.

"I still have my copy," she muttered, shyly making eye contact with me.

"Me too," I answered.

Flashback

Today, is a nervewracking day since my girlfriend is coming over to meet my mother. Jenny mentioned every week about wanting to meet my mother since we started communicating. It's only been a few months since my mother and I formed our unique relationship. It wasn't easy to plan since my mother has been keeping me a secret from my baby sister.

Hopefully, everything is perfect or at least the closest to perfect. My mother offered to cook her famous spaghetti and meatballs but I forgot to mention Jenny's a vegetarian. Knowing Jenny she would probably force herself to eat it.

My sister, Imogen was on a week vacation with Frankie's family meaning I was allowed to see my mother again. She claimed to love me but it's hard to believe when I'm kept hidden all the time. I just wanted to be accepted; I thought meeting my mother would finally help me find my place but instead I'm lost than ever.

Our relationship wasn't good at the beginning. I kept lashing out, wanting to know why I can't meet my sister. We would have dinner once a week and it always ended with screaming match. It's selfish that she can't care for me am I not good enough?

Ever since I started dating Jenny she helped me see things from my mother's perspect. My mother wanted to thank her for it and shower her with gifts. Nonetheless, our relationship was hanging on by a strand.

I pushed the binds to peek through the window, noticing a small honda car parked out front. She must be here.

"I'm picking you up at nine, alright," he firmly said.

"Yeah, yeah, Now go," Jenny said, shooing him away with her burning red cheeks. "Oh, my god! He's so embarrassing!"

"Don't worry, Jen, you're cute when you're embarrassed," I said, wrapping my hand around her slim waist.

She ignored my gaze as her cheeks became even darker. "Stop making me blush," she cutely whined, interlocking our hands together.

"Are you ready to meet Ms. Blake?" I asked, handing my arm our for her to take.

"I sure hope so," she breathed, having a frantically look on her face.

I opened the front door, helping Jenny take off her jacket. "Mom, Jenny is here," I yelled hearing someone scrambling upstairs.

My mother came running down with some curls still mixed in her black hair. Her eyes widened at the sight of Jenny and pulled her into a hug.

"So happy to finally meet the girl who makes my son so happy," My mother said, rubbing her back slowly.

"The pleasure is all mine," Jenny responded.

"Okay, dinner is all ready. I'll bring it out for us! I hope you like spaghetti and meatballs," My mother squealed running to the kitchen.

"I guess, you forgot to mention I'm vegetarian," Jenny awkwardly laughed as she followed me to the dinner table.

"I'm sorry!" I said, dragging the seat out for her to settle in it.

"It's no biggie," Jenny said, placing her purse on her lap.

I couldn't help but stare at her beauty; how anyone get tired of her she will surely be the end of me.

The council didn't lie when they said our soulmates were our perfect match.

"Stop staring at me," Jenny said, elbowing my side.

"You're beautiful," I whispered, softly moving a strand behind her ear.

" I love you, dummy," she whispered, shifting her eyes to the door than quickly placing a kiss on my cheek.

"I love you, more, Kitty kat," I cringed at my attempt of being cute.

"That's cringy don't do that again," Katherine commented, trying to hold in her laughter.

End of flashback

"So bab- Rebel what shirt do you wanna wear?" Katherine asked, showing a black button shirt and a blue one.

"You almost said babe," I said, wiggling my eyebrows up and down.

"Dammit, I was hoping you didn't catch it," she said, placing the shirts over me and deciding for me. "Black is definitely your color."

"Well, sorry to burst your bubble," I said, pulling my blood covered shirt off and changing into the newly fresh shirt.

My eyes wandered towards a flustered Katherine unable to remove her eyes from my torso. The only other time she's seen me shirtless was when we went to the beach but we were younger. Katherine wanted to save ourselves for marriage and I respected it. Why rush when we planned to spend the rest of our lives together?

"What you staring at?" I winked, chucking the shirt over my head.

"Nothing," her cheeks flushed bright pink, her eyes enlarged and she grabbed my suitcase. "We should start packing."

"Yeah, I know Honey," I said.

"It's so hard to hate you," she muttered, shoving random shirts and jeans into the bag.

"Than don't there's no need to," I whispered, going over to cup her cheeks.

"I can't stand you," Katherine laughed, rolling her eyes.

"Does that mean I'm allowed to kiss you?" I whispered, stroking her cheek with my thumbs forming circles.

I used my hand to give myself the support to push my face towards her and connecting our lips. My lips were firmly against hers, but the kiss remained soft, gentle, slow. We held it for a few seconds before our lips moved in perfect sync, slowly, cautiously.

My entire body had been taken over by the overwhelming feeling of relief, combined with eccentric panic and lust. I moved my hands from cheek to the back of her head, my fingers tangling in her long dark black hair, lightly pulling her into me, adding more pressure to our lips. She gently pushed me back, glancing at her feet as she catched her breath.

"We should continue packing," she said, removing herself from my hold and moving over to my cabinets.

Lucas and Drew both rang the doorbell, allowing us to notice their presence. I threw in a couple of pairs of boxers and zipped up the bag. Might as well get ahead start to try and catch up to my sister.
