Help Not Needed
IMOGEN
"Cutie, would it be okay if I lay my head on your shoulder?" I asked, adorably pouting my lip.
"Go ahead," Lucas answered, keeping his eyes locked on the cars speeding down beside us. I laid my head on his shoulder, nuzzling closer to his neck, and closed my eyes. The heat was radiating off his skin, warming me up from the frozen AC. Subconsciously my body relaxed against his and enjoyed the vanilla and strawberries smell coming off from him.
----
I awoke to soft sheets, and the morning light trickled in through the blinds. Shedding myself of the remaining glimpses of a dream, my eyes were still shut as I soaked in the warmth of my covers before letting my bronze eyes see the sun's rays. When I shifted to my side, I felt another body laying next to me.
My eyes fluttered opening, meeting with a sleeping blonde boy next to me. His hair was sticking to his face from all the sweat he had produced during his slumber. I lifted myself, stretching my arms above my head until I was satisfied. My hands wandered around my bedstand feeling for my phone. However, the screen wouldn't turn on which meant it was dead.
Did I sleep through the night? Who dropped me off in my bed? Most likely Kai since he's sleeping next to me.
After doing my normal morning routine, I walked downstairs to my kitchen. It seemed like everyone was working, at school or literally anywhere but at home. Our granite island in the kitchen was crowded with letters from my school. Ignoring them, I continued towards the refrigerator in search of a healthy morning breakfast.
When pulling the latch open, I realized the lack of food that was in the house. Do they expect me to starve? Eventually, I settled for half-eaten box of chicken wings that tasted stale after being microwaved. To wash down the dull tasted I poured myself a glass of orange juice which barely reaching half-way.
I grabbed one of wooden chairs and settled myself in it. Impatiently, I kept tapping my fingers on the table wishing I had something to do. Ultimately, I groaned and reached over for the thousands of letters that was littered on the counter. Most of them said the same thing, 'I regret to inform you about your daughter Imogen Blake. She's failing English with twenty-three and will have to retake the course next year.' I ended up opening one of Frankie's school letters and it seemed like she would have to repeat a grade as well.
Well, Frankie is going to have to suffer in school alone next year since I don't have time to deal with school anymore. I'm going to use my time traveling the world and finding new victims in different countries.
"Good morning, sweetheart," his irritating husky voice echoed through the room.
How should I kill Kai?
"Morning," I mumbled, grabbing my juice to chung the rest down.
"I missed you in bed, sweetheart," he said, engulfing his arms around my body, hugging me from behind. He nuzzled his face in my neck, placing butterfly kisses and upgrading to sucking. I cringed in his arms, trying to pry my neck from his lips.
"Are you a vampire or something?" I groaned, landing a punch on his shoulder.
"What? I wanted to show my girlfriend some love," he said, shrugging his shoulders up and down in an attempt of being funny.
Totally, forgot that I agreed to be his girlfriend. Fuck! I might as well just end it.
"If you wanted to show me some love than let's go find a new victim," I said, yawning while glancing down at my chipped nail.
"Fine, anything for my sweetheart," he replied.
Kai picked up the half-eaten chicken wings and scrunched his eyebrows with disgust. He aburtly, dropped the wing back in it's box and dragged it to the garbage can.
"Great, let's go check for any strangers outside," I commented, basically tappinging my fingertips together in a sinister way.
"Okay but wear a sweater it's not spring yet," Kai added, stretching his arms above his head until he was satisfied.
He walked over to the coat rack, grabbing a maroon jacket and chucked it my direction. The jacket slipped into my arms so easily, keeping my body warmed from the threatening cold. I zipped the coat up and walked over to find a weapon. Since the knife was the first weapon that caught my eye, I grabbed it and stashed it in my boots.
I opened the door and Kai asked, "Have anyone specific you're looking for?"
"Whoever passes by first should do," I said, planting myself down on my porch step.
Kai settled himself next to me, making sure our shoulders touched as he kept leaning in closer. Around five minutes a middle aged woman was running down the block with her puppy. The only reason I spared her was because of the little teacup pomeranian. I might kill people for my own enjoyment but animals is where I cross the line.
Several minutes passed again and my eyes wandered to the tree's bark sprouting leaves from their branches. Spring is indeed on it's way. Than suddenly, I heard a thump and shifted my eyes towards the direction of the sound. There stood my next victim; a teenage maroon-colored boy walking down the block fixated on his phone.
"He's perfect," I whispered before marching down the brick path.
His hair was tied in a man-bun having his little curls sticking to his forehead. The boy hasn't glanced up from his phone since I started following him. If I wanted to make this a casuel meeting maybe I can bump into him or something. I doubt he would noticed if I walked in front of him only to walk into him.
I started speed walking, reaching up to him and tripped over his foot. The things I do to release my body of it's stress.
"Are you okay?" He asked, shoving his phone in his back pocket before kneeling down beside me.
"Yeah, maybe a little scratch," I giggled, wiping the dirt that landed on my hands from the fall.
"I should probably pay more attention when I walk," he said, scratching the nape of his neck with a nervous smile on his face.
"You think?"
"Ah...."
"I'm just playing with you," I laughed, lightly punching his shoulder.
He stood up, reaching his hand out for me and I took it. His cheeks appeared to have turned pink along with his ears. "What's your name?" I asked, trying to form a conversation.
"Mikey," he answered, rubbing his lips together and having his little cheek dimple on full display.
"A fitting name for a cute boy like you," I smiled, swinging my hands back and worth as we continued strolling down the block.
"Umm. . . Thank you? What's yours?"
"Darcy," I quickly responded, trying not to think so hard on a name.
"I never seen you before do you go to Matlin High?"
"Yeah, I haven't been showing up to school lately. I'm an adventure type of girl," I said, noticing a park near by.
"Cool I'm more of the gaming type of boy," he chuckled, showcasing the deep dimples predominatly noticable.
"Let's go to the park and we can sit on the bench while I watch you play games," I suggested, tilting my head towards the park direction.
"Sounds like a plan," he shrugged, continuing our stroll to the park.
The bench was staple at the park, the rosy cedar browns married to the iron that curved into the great arms and grew into ever-blooming flowers to rest on. I sat down and felt the heat from the sun soaked into the metal. I felt the wind tousle with my hair, cool, refreshing and letting my eyes fall on the boy.
"Any game suggestions?" he asked, pulling out his phone and waving it at me.
I lifted myself from the bench, noticing a blonde hair boy hiding in the brush. Really Kai, you're failing at staying hidden. The park was surrounded by thick clusters of brushes and tress hiding us from the outside world. I reached for the knife in my boots and planned for my next move.
"You really shouldn't trust a pretty girl," I smirked, grabbing my wrist and using the blade to make a small insion. To appear more twisted, I licked my wound tasting the metallic taste.
"Woah are you a skilled ninja or something?" he asked, placing his hands in the air in defense.
"Are you stupid or something," I rolled my eyes, tightly gripping the knife securely in my hand.
I glanced over my shoulder, watching as Kai emerged from the bush and ran over behind little old Mikey. Kai somehow had a rope in his hand and used it to hold Mikey back from leaving the bench.
"Sorry, cutie nice knowing you," I said, squeezing his cheeks together puckering his lips.
The knife met flesh, soft and pudgy, and made a satisfying squish as the tip of the blade sank deep enough causing Mikey to scream. Of course, Kai covered his mouth, muffling the tortured scream releasing from him. His skin was tearing to sheds as the knife rotated, the sound of his muscles and nerves being gouged growing louder. His cries was a magnificent sound, guttural chokes mixed with agonized horror. I smirked, pulling the knife out of my deathly white victim.
Everything inside me felt heightened like the satisfaction of killing someone heals my body from the impending death. My vision was perfect and I felt my skin radiant in the sunrays.
"Nice job, sweetheart," Kai said, wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me into a tight hug basically suffocating me.
"Couldn't even last a day. I'm not surprised one bit," her voice irritated my soul.
Slowly, turning around meeting face to face with Katherine leaning against the tree with her arms crossed her chest. Out of frustration, I thrusted the knife at her direction missing by a few inches and landing it on the tree.
"You broke the promise," she smirked. "Meaning you have to let us change you back."
"That's not fair I thought you were gone!" I complained, stomping my foot and landing on Kai's toes.
"Do you think I'm an idiot? Did you forget I know how the potion works? I have took it myself before when the pain was too intense. Losing Rebel really hurt you that bad," she said, her lips forming a pout.
"Doesn't matter he means nothing to me anymore," I said, shrugging my shoulders.
I poked Mickey's hollow cheek, feeling his cold flesh. His eyes were still opened staring off into space.
"This is for your own good. You will thank me later," she said before speaking in an acient language I never heard.
"What you me-," I said, before an unbelievable pain formed in my head. The pain caused all my limbs to paralyzed dropping aburtly to the ground and shouting in agony. My arms cradled my head, wishing for the misery to soon wash away.
------
My eyes fluttered open, squinting them against the bright light. Not only was light disturbing me but my head still throbbed. Struggling to lift myself, my eyes wandered around the cage I confided in. Katherine seemed to have captured me and locked Kai and I in her old families' prison.
"Sweetheart? Are you awake?"
"Kai what happened?" I moaned, using the metal bars to lift myself up.
"After Katherine said some phase you collapsed to the ground after screaming for what seemed like hours. She than carried you and drag me to this cell," he explained.
"Well that would explain the aching pain but why is it so ha-," I stopped short, recognizing the shackles attached to my legs. "Oh, not only did she lock us in a cell but I'm tied to the freaking ground!"
I tried crawling, dragging the chains from the ground at attempt to break them. Apparently, the book I borrowed from Katherine explained how I could inherit super-strength. Obviously it was wrong since the chains weren't bunging at all.
"This is torture! Let me out!" I screamed, kicking my feet, trying to build friction.
"Sweetheart relax she will release you eventually," he commented.
"That's easy for you to say! You don't have thousand pound weighing your legs down," I complained.
Kai was comfortable sitting on the concrete floor, playing with a bouncy ball and throwing it at the wall. This is sexist! Why am I the only one confined to shackles while idiot over there is free to wander around. Kai had a cut on his eyebrow along with a matching one on his lip; he must have picked a fight with Katherine.
"Do you want to kiss?" I blurted.
Honestly, there was nothing else to do.
"Hell yeah," he smiled, rushing over to my side.
I pushed him down, jumping over to straddle his hips. He gets a little startled, probably not expecting me to take charge. I feel him getting goosebumps and I realized what a strong hold I had on this boy.
"Kiss me already stop teasing," he groaned, caressing my face.
"Shhh. . . Patience is key," I whispered, while leaving kissing on his neck. I made circles with my tongue on his skin and slightly sucked on it. His hands traveled down to my butt, groping it while moaning softly.
He grabbed my face and covered my lips with his, softly sucking my lower lip but I deepened the kiss. Kai pulled away, opening his eyes and breathing heavily.
"We can have more fun if you want," I seductively said, starting to unbuckle his belt.
"Are you going to go down on me?"
"If you stop talking," I answered, trying to pry his belt from his waist.
After getting the belt off, I unbutton his pants, pulling them down to his ankles. He took a deep breath and leaned against the wall with his eyes closed. His member was showcasing through his underwear and were seconds away from being unleashed.
I was about to take off his boxers when someone interrupted and yelled, "Excuse me!"
I innocently, bit my lip glancing up to see Katherine and Lucas standing outside the cell. I never seen this look before, Lucas's eyes had a deadness, a stillness. He was judging me, probably reflecting why we were even an item to begin with.
"Lucas wanted to talk to you," Katherine replied, grabbing her keys to unlock the lock holding the gate together.
After opening the door, she walked over to me and unlocked my shackles. My arms came free with a jerk that sent a hiss through my teeth. I rubbed my already raw wrists, trying to ease the discomfort. She pointed towards Lucas's direction and followed the way out the cell. Lucas led me into another room and closed the door behind us.
"Why can't you make this easier and change back?" Lucas asked.
"Did it hurt when you caught me in the act with Kai," I smirked, wiggling my brows.
"Stop ignoring the question," he rolled his eyes.
I walked closer to him, running my hands down his muscular chest and leaning into his neck leaving little kisses. "Do you miss the way I kissed you," I whispered, staring into his sea-blue eyes.
"It doesn't feel the same with you like this. I want my girlfriend back the one who was compassionate and always fought for what she believed in," he answered, pushing me away from him.
"Yawn! Maybe live for a change and I'll take you back," I said.
"Imogen please change back for me. If you really cared about me than listen to me," Lucas practically begged.
"Lucas we can start a new life together being famous serial killer couple. Sounds like goals to me," I fantasized.
"Do you hear yourself? I'm done with this until you decide to come back because right now your being a bitch!" he spat, storming out of the room.
"Whatever I would rather have Drew anyway!" I shouted, imaging stabbing him with a thousands of daggers.
"What the hell? Imogen! Stop playing with Lucas's feelings he doesn't deserve it," Katherine yelled, her cheeks puffing out with anger.
"Don't tell me what to do," I sneeered, feeling a strong sensation against my cheek.
That fucking bitch just slapped me.
"What the hell," I groaned, reaching up to cup my cheek.
"That's for Lucas," she smirked, locking me in the room.
Katherine
"This is worst than I thought," I muttered, frustradely pushing my hair behind my ears.
Lucas furrowed his brows in confusion. "What do you mean?"
"She's extremely defensive like she has a wall in front of her shielding her from the pain she once felt," I informed.
"Continue," Drew assured.
"Something has to trigger her to turn it on. She won't turn it on to her own accord unless something causes her to feel again and unable to ignore the pain she's buried deep in her heart," I explained, exhaling a deep breath I was holding in. "I expected Lucas to be the reason but it's not working out the way I planned."
"Idiots," Frankie mumbled, hopping off from the table and landing her legs.
"If you have an idea than just spit it out! We don't have time to deal with your pettiness," I commented.
"Isn't Lucas the too obvious option? He isn't the only person she cares deeply about. However, there is someone else she will go through all the struggle to deny she cares about them," she responded, glacing over at Drew who was staring into space.
Wow! How could I've been so stupid to not notice? Everyone will eyes would see Imogen feels a certain way for that boy, expect Lucas, of course.
"Lucas was there for her even when she turned it off. You know who wasn't there for her," Frankie added, nudging Drew's shirt and pointing at him.
"She doesn't feel shit for me! She said it herself," Drew sighed.
"Are you an idiot!" Frankie said, flicking his head like immature child. "Imogen doesn't want to play with anyone's feelings. How can she admit she has feelings for another boy without hurting the one she's currently with. To be fair, I think she's oblivious to the fact that she could feel something more for him."
"It all makes sense," I said.
Lucas was leaning against the table, glancing over my direction and our eyes connected for a few seconds. In those moments I realized the words hidden behind his eyes.
Pain
"Why would she still care about me? Look what I did to Rebel. She hates me," Drew exhaled.
"Okay, you go a point there but it's worth a shot. You can try talking to her or doing something extreme and see if you spark something in her," Frankie suggested.
"What? Die?" Drew chuckled.
"Yeah that could work," Frankie said, tapping her chin and lost in thought.
"You can't be serious," Drew nervously laughed.
"I am being serious," Frankie added.
"Do it," Lucas said, placing his hand on Drew's shoulder. "I want her back."
"I don't want to die! Besides I'm not leaving Imogen alone in your care," Drew argued.
"What if I can do something about that," I smirked, shifting my gaze between all three of them.
Finally, Imogen has been caught. Do you think Frankie's plan is going to work?
Will Imogen turn it on or stay like this forever?
Do you think Drew will be able to help her?
