Chapter 5

"Shut up!" You hissed, slamming the 'off' button to your alarm violently as you forced yourself to sit up. Today was going to be your very first day of classes, and you were both excited but scared. Rubbing your eyes and trying your best to ignore your grogginess, you unwillingly threw your blankets off of you and stood up. Since your first class {which was chemistry} was at 9 AM you'd chosen to wake up at 7 AM so you'd have hopefully way more than enough time to get ready as well as eat a proper breakfast. You'd managed to go to a Walmart just outside of the campus a couple of days ago with Shuichi so the two of you now had food, but you wanted to eat in the food court this morning.

"Ugh... why didn't I shower last night...? I was getting into the routine of it too but I just had to be lazy..." You huffed quietly, walking to your wardrobe and grabbing some clothes while still half asleep. You'd also have to do your laundry soon- you were running a little low on clothes now. Sighing, you grabbed the little basket you now used for your toiletries like shampoo, put your chosen outfit inside, and headed to the community showers. You hoped since it was early enough that nobody would be using the showers just yet.

It took you around half an hour to shower, and once you were finished you returned to your dorm to put away your basket and place your dirty clothes in your dirty laundry basket. You also brushed your hair, using a mirror you'd brought with you to help you style your hair. You sighed once you'd finally dressed and finished with your hair, realizing it was already getting kind of late, "Hnnn... maybe I should've done what Shuichi did and set my alarm for like 6 AM... but that's so early!! I don't wanna wake up at some ungodly hour!"

You glanced at Shuichi's empty side of the dorm as you spoke, noticing that his school things were already gone. Well, he did say that he had a class that started at 7 AM, and you were just barely waking up by the time he was supposed to be in class. The fact he'd given himself an hour to get ready instead of two like you had made you worried he'd skipped breakfast or had a poor one, though.

"I'm not his mom... ugh. Speaking of breakfast, I need to eat some," You mumbled to yourself, taking one last look through your backpack to make sure you had everything you needed before grabbing your backpack. You'd just bring it to the food court with you since you figured by the time you were done eating there wouldn't be enough time to go back and get your bag. Slinging your bag over your shoulder carelessly, you left your dorm, locking the door behind you.

You made your way to the food court in a slight hurry, wanting to waste as little time traveling as possible. After all, you weren't exactly the fastest eater. Plus, you'd have to wait for your food to cook and possibly also wait in line, so you were trying to give yourself as much time as possible.

Sure enough, by the time you'd finished eating breakfast, it was already 8:50, meaning you had just 10 minutes to get to your class! You were a little worried you wouldn't make it in time, but you forced yourself to calm down, taking out your phone with the directions you'd written to each of your classes about a week ago. You started to follow your directions to the science hall and then to the class, and with ease you made it to the correct classroom {or at least you hoped it was}. Opening the door to room 1707 slowly, you immediately noticed how few people were in the room. Really? It was 8:56 now, so where was everyone?

The only other people in the room were two boys that looked like twins. Both of them had black hair and blue eyes and they both wore unbuttoned lab coats. Hell, their shirts underneath were pretty similar! One of them wore a dark red shirt and the other one wore a light red shirt. Both of them wore black pants and black shoes as well. The boy with the dark red shirt had really messy hair that looked like he'd never once cared for it in his life, showing off several split ends and an endless mess of tangles. It also had a really choppy and uneven look to it. The boy with the light red shirt under his lab coat {and who looked extremely familiar but you couldn't place your finger on it} had a slightly messy look to his hair, but compared to the other boy it was impeccable. It was also just ever so slightly curly. The two boys appeared to know each other since they were talking.

You wanted to eavesdrop, but you chose to study the classroom first. There were no normal chairs or desks at all- not even for the teacher's desk! Everything was just a bunch of islands with a counter also running along the edge of most of the back of the room. Some lab equipment was sitting on top of the counter, looking pristine and brand new. Each of the islands had several drawers and cabinets beneath the surface that you assumed had supplies in them, and every other island had a sink. There were four stools around each island, so you assumed that was where everyone would normally sit. The teacher's 'desk' was another island but it was a long rectangle instead of a square. There were a few stacks of paper on one end with a few empty flasks and beakers next to them, and on the other end was the teacher's computer. It seemed relatively high-tech, but you could only see the back and side of it so you couldn't say for sure. After examining the very interesting classroom, you brought your focus back to the two boys. A few more people had entered the classroom now, but they were relatively quiet.

"It's not fully equipped," the boy with messy hair blandly commented after opening a cabinet. You'd witnessed him checking all of the other drawers and cabinets, though you had no idea how 'not fully equipped' the classroom was. Should a classroom even be 'fully equipped?' Lots of chemicals were really dangerous!

"Stop worrying so much about the supplies. Look at all the hotties in the room~" the boy with much neater hair chuckled at his own comment, winking at a random girl that was looking at him. She quickly looked away with a scoff, but you could see a small tint of red on her cheeks.

"Um... hello...?" You awkwardly interrupted their conversation, immediately regretting it once the two boys turned to look at you. Why did you have to talk to them? You didn't even need to interact with them so why...? You felt so stupid.

"Oh, hey cutie~" the boy with neater hair smirked at you, causing the boy with messy hair to glare at him. You cringed at his flirtatious behavior.

"She's not interested in fucking you. Anyways. Can I help you," the boy with messy hair had spoken the words of a question, but his voice was so monotone it had sounded like a statement. His body language was also very minimalistic, only moving when he had to and otherwise practically being a statue. Even if he held himself in an awkward or painful pose for a while, he didn't seem to care. It was a huge contrast to the other boy who was very expressive and open with his body language, constantly making some kind of flirtatious or even sexual gesture. But then you remembered... you had absolutely no reason to bother these people!

"Ah! S-sorry, I um... I shouldn't have said anything. Sorry for wasting your time, you can go back to-"

"Henry, don't go scaring off little cutie like that~ It's okay, you can talk with me instead~" the boy with neater hair offered. You recoiled at his offer, figuring he'd try something weird with you if you didn't keep your distance from him.

"N-no thanks, haha-" You awkwardly laughed, feeling your feet begin to physically distance yourself from the overly flirtatious boy. He seemed downcast at your nonverbal rejection for a few seconds.

"And yet you scared off the so-called 'cutie.' Though I don't see the visual appeal in her," 'Henry' bluntly stated, and immediately you could feel yourself getting offended. You didn't see any visual appeal in yourself either, but damn! He didn't have to be honest about it!

"Wow, rude," You pouted, crossing your arms with a huff. The boy with neater hair looked over to 'Henry,' also seeming offended that he would say that to you.

"You're pretty much married to your lab so your opinion doesn't count," the boy with neater hair blandly commented, glaring at 'Henry.'

"Yesterday I went on a date with Shaun. And on moving day too," 'Henry' sighed, lifting his arm to look at a watch on his wrist, "It's already three minutes into class. The professor shouldn't be late, it's a waste of time."

"I don't mind, it gives me more time to talk to this cutie~ Hey, what's your name~?" the boy with neater hair asked, licking his lips as he obviously checked out your body, making you even more uncomfortable than you already were. Didn't anyone teach this guy some boundaries or respect for personal space? Maybe some social etiquette?

"...It's (Y/N) (L/N). I'm the Ultimate Forensics Scientist," You grumbled a little, figuring it would be easier to just state your name and talent so the flirtatious boy would have less to ask you. The less you could get him to talk, the better.

"Forensics~?" the boy let out a soft moan, "Ahh~! Where are my manners, I haven't introduced myself~ I'm Charles Rostock, the Ultimate Biologist~ Henry, introduce yourself to cute little (Y/N)~"

"...Fine. Only because I might need to talk to her later because of her talent. I'm Henry Rostock, the Ultimate Chemist. Done," Henry lightly scoffed, looking at his watch again. He was clearly starting to get impatient.

"Hold on... are you two twins then? Since you have the same last name..." You asked, feeling a little awkward with the question. What the hell else would they be? People who coincidentally looked very similar and had the same last name?

"Aww, you were close~ Henry's my dad~!" Charles giggled, and you figured he was joking so you joined him in his laughter. After a few seconds his laughter died down, his expression getting somewhat serious {for the first time}, "No, seriously, he is."

"Ummm... I'm sorry, what? Nani? You're joking, right?" You blinked several times in confusion, baffled at his persistence that Henry was his dad. Well, of course he had to be joking, right?! You were probably going to feel really stupid in a few seconds...

"Unfortunately he's not. I was using an experimental formula that was supposed to age up the human body by about 21 years in the span of a single day. I still can't explain how he has memories and several skills like he really did have a childhood, though," Henry explained with a sigh. You could tell he was feeling some kind of emotion by explaining the story, but you couldn't tell what emotion it was. Henry was too guarded. You brushed it aside and focused on the information he'd just given you, and one question was on your mind. It was kind of stupid, but you had to know...

"So... who's the mom?" You asked a bit awkwardly, hoping it wasn't too personal of a question.

"I don't have a mommy, I have two daddies~ Henry's so kinky he decided to make it possible to get boys pregnant like some weird Gacha video, and pop! I came into existence!" Charles laughed lightly, seeming to be very amused about his origin story. Henry, on the other hand, seemed a little angry.

"It was a massive breakthrough in research. You should respect it more than just calling it 'Gacha logic.' ...Why is this teacher so late? It's been almost ten minutes now," Henry hissed under his breath, his impatience clearly gnawing away at him.

"Wait wait wait, hold on, run that thing about two dads by me again?" You raised a brow. Didn't that kinda thing only happen in movies? There was no way male pregnancy could become possible without it breaking news everywhere, right?

"I made a breakthrough. In research. By making. Male pregnancy. Possible," Henry paused every couple of words, practically glaring at you. You could tell he was a little irritated about the fact he had to repeat himself, though the amount of hostility was totally uncalled for!

"C'mon daddy, don't be so mean to cute little (Y/N)~" Charles urged, reaching out and tugging on the sleeve of Henry's lab coat just a little. He didn't react by a flinch or anything- just stood there as if Charles didn't touch him. It was kind of unsettling to see him act so robotic. He WAS human, right?

"Okay, let's start this damn class!" a male voice called out, and you turned in the direction of the voice to see someone who was sitting at a stool standing up, "Hahaha, I always wanted to show up pretending to be a student. Anyways, welcome to AP Chem; my name is Mr. Wells! Since this is supposed to be a class for advanced students, hopefully you're all interested in science or you will suffer, and I will laugh at you. I'm supposed to be the Ultimate Science Sensei or some shit so I dunno, guess that means I can teach good while sounding like I'm in an anime! If you don't like my swearing, the door's right there. I'm supposed to be a hard ass on y'all since this is an AP class, so I'll make this quick. Any questions?"

Henry didn't skip a beat in standing up and walking to the teacher, handing him a piece of paper and then returning to his seat. How the hell did he have the courage to do that, and what was on that paper anyways? Mr. Wells looked at the paper with a look of almost concern on his face before realization seemed to strike him. He pointed at Henry, "You. You're that Ultimate Chemist I heard about, aren't you?"

"Yes," Henry simply spoke, not seeming at all bothered by Mr. Well's very loud voice. His entire body language was just loud, but not in a good or a bad way. He just... naturally seemed to project and amplify his very existence. Henry on the other hand spoke just as loud as he needed to in order to be heard clearly, no emotion to his voice. No movement. Just the bare minimum he needed for an interaction.

"Ah... yep, definitely exactly how I was told. We're not using those materials at any point in the course of this class and neither will any other class, so we don't store them. They're far too dangerous," Mr. Wells explained, neatly folding Henry's note and placing it in his pocket. Was Henry's note asking for some kind of materials? Well... he was looking through all the drawers earlier, so had he been making note of certain things that were 'missing?' Wasn't that kind of rude?

Henry didn't respond, but you swore you saw his lip twitch in response ever so slightly. Was it a smile? A frown? Probably a frown, right? Charles, who was seated next to Henry, giggled and mockingly blew a kiss to Henry. He didn't even acknowledge that it happened. Talk about closed off and lowkey rude!

"Any other questions?" Mr. Wells asked, looking around the room. There was silence for a few seconds before he smiled, "Good. Now let's start the first lesson!"

Sorry for the shorter chapter and the fact I haven't updated for a few days, school is totally kicking my butt and I've honestly been spending so much time at home having to take care of other shit so by the time I even get the chance to write it's like 11 PM and I'm gonna be going to bed in the next couple of hours since I have to wake up at 5:30 AM for school.

Well, uh anyways... how is the rewrite going so far? Is it going better than the original? Worse? I'm not getting any comments which is kind of sad since I'd like to know how I'm doing... I don't want a bunch of spam though. Just some feedback-
