[Narrator's pov]

It was the day of the Ceremony for the Tens, better know as the Examination. The Tens take the exam to find out whether they will go to The School For The Subdued or The School For The Bold. No one actually ever says the entire thing unless one of the staff members on a professional day. Just call them The Subdued or The Bold.

I believe testing must be done by now. Perhaps we should check on the Result Handlers. We're definitely checking in on the Result Handlers. Those are the people in charge of making sure the exam results get to the Headmaster, William.

In the testing hall, the two Result Handlers were running off to their designated drop off locations. Oops, the two just ran into each other. A mishap that could possibly be detrimental to some students life. We'll have to wait a week to see.

A week later and families of the Tens should've gotten their letters of the results. This was going to be interesting. More specifically, this was going to be interesting for the Houston and Reade families. Do you want to see their results? Of course you do.

In the Houston household, Mr. Houston was opening the letter as his daughter, Sara, and his wife awaited anxiously. In Sara's mind, he couldn't be going any slower.

"Sara M. Houston will go to The School For The Subdued" Mr. Houston read aloud. Looks of surprised plastered all of their faces.

"That, that can't be right" Mrs. Houston said as she shook her head.

"It must be, dear. The Board is rarely wrong" Mr. Houston reminded his wife in an attempt to calm her. She nodded and held her daughter.

Things weren't going much differently in the Reade household. Little Tana Reade was waiting for her mother to open the letter as she crossed her fingers, hoping to get into The Subdued like her brother.

"Montana L. Reade will go to The School For The Bold" Her mother read after final opening the letter. Tana's face fell, and so did her mother's.

"Are you sure that's right?" Tana asked her mother. She nodded sadly.

Both households were disappointed, but they new the Board must be right. Unless there was a mishap.
