Chapter 12: Anti-Bug

You've finally startled settling down in your new school, accustomed to the schooling system and taking good care of your overly expensive tablet.

You've eased yourself an A in all your classes, but failed on making many friends. You talked to Marinette and alya on the occasion, but never felt invited.

Instead, you hung out with adrien and his friend nino. Though you still struggled to socialize properly, two friends are better than one, right?

You were making semi good process life wise, but radio active spider wise..?

Your powers seemed to twitch out since the aftermath of gamer, but nothing too major.

Until today.

Sitting in the back of the class now, you were finally able to relax and on the occasion sneak on your phone. Today though, there was something more entertaining happening in your science class.

A yelp was heard by Chloe, her ponytail tugged at by a mysterious force. Without a doubt you deemed it as something invisible, or someone.

"Someone pulled my hair!" Chloé whined to the teacher, who glanced at the girl sat behind her.

"It wasn't me, Mrs. M!" She waved her hands defensively, and Chloe shook her head as well.

"It wasn't her, it's- it's some invisible, mystical, being. Like a leprechaun or a unicorn without the horn!" She explained, and the class laughed at her analogy. You simply stared in amusement, scanning the classroom to pinpoint the invisible being.

"Quiet everyone! Eyes on your papers!" Your teacher snapped, and you rolled your eyes at her attitude.

The situation grew further as Chloe's bag was yanked, making the girl panic,

"Oh no, it's happening again!"

The being went from pulling her purse to throwing everyone's pens at her, except for your own. Your hand instantly caught it once it flew up.

Adrien and Marinette both asked to be excused after Chloe, completely horrified, ran out of the classroom.

And you? You continued your work. You ignored your spidersense that kept pricking goosebumps on your skin, deciding to deal with the situation later.

Mistake one.

It's been 15 minutes and you were bored, already finished with your work. You fiddled with your pencil, concentrating on the sound of the clock ticking.

Once again, your body seemed urgent. It wasn't like your spidersense that gave you goosebumps, but rather a warm buzz in your veins you couldn't explain.

You tried to ignore it like the first time, but the buzz seemed to spread up your arms. Finally caving in, you rolled up the sleeves up of your sweater.

Your bored eyes gained life as they widened, your pupils dilating as you stared down at the strange sight.

A prominent blue color beneath your skin stood out, your veins sending slithering cracks of it up your arm.

You yanked the sleeve back down, witnessing it slowly travel up the palms of your hands.

It radiated a blue glow, sprouting smaller versions of itself to make the resemblance of a tree barren of leaves.

The process started on the other hand as well, getting brighter by the second.

Lacing both your hands together, you cleared your throat, catching the attention of your science teacher.

"Mrs. mendeleiev, may I go to the bathroom?" You quietly asked, and she nodded without question. You abruptly stood up, causing your seat to squeal as it pushed back.

Stuffing your hands in your large pockets, you sped walked out of the classroom, letting the door click shut before breaking into a sprint.

You nearly fell down the stairs in panic, but thankfully caught yourself and made it in down in one piece.

You burst into the locker room before making it into the empty restroom, hearing your uneven breathing echo off the walls.

You approached the sinks and aggressively pumped the soap dispenser, watching the foam coat your hands in white clouds.

Despite being covered, the soap was a radiating blue from your palms.

"What's wrong with me?" You breathed, turning on the sink to wash your hands. You lathered your hands and arms, tried to scrub it off.

Eventually, you just started digging your bitten nails into your flesh, scratching at the markings.

They stayed the same, their bright color staying flawless. It frustrated you, struck you with fear of this unknown power.

You looked up into the mirror, staring at your sunken bags and dull eyes. Your strands of hair covered your face, but past it all you saw the same, snakelike, forms of blue.

They matched the ones on your arms, zipping around your iris's as they craved escape.

You shakily reached to touch the reflection on the mirror, your index finger gently poking it.

The contact shattered the glass immediately to the small poke, making the mirror shatter to the sizes of little pebbles.

You yelped, leaping to the side to avoid all of them.

To make matters worse, your spidersense went off again, a lot more urgent. You remembered the being that attacked Chloé, knowing something must've gone wrong.

You were needed whether you liked it or not.

With a deep breath, you blocked out your thoughts and let yourself turn invisible.

You climbed the bathroom wall and escaped out a tiny window, running and leaping your way to the hotel mayor Bourgeois owned.

Spotting it was easy, especially because of the helicopter flying overhead.

Chloe was in a ladybug costume, only the colors were reversed. Chat noir was tied to the end of his baton, dangling off the rooftop.

Ladybug was nowhere in sight, bringing antibug to maliciously jump on the baton. Chat noir bounced along the edge in discomfort.

You ran up along the wall, almost cursing that you didn't reach Chat noir. You flipped yourself up on the baton, balancing on the tips of your toes.

You undid chat noirs ropes. He seemed to notice himself, but stayed quiet. His legs were free, and you carefully leaned over to undo his arms.

You loosened the ropes and got off the baton. Standing on the wall now, you yanked the baton from under antibugs feet. She gasped, and chat noir was sent flying ahead of you.

He yelped at the unexpected strength, and your eyes widened. The end of the baton was wedged halfway into the next building over, big cracks surrounding it.

Chat noir grabbed his baton, struggling to pull it out for a moment. It didn't take long for him to bounce back into character though, continuing his fight against antibug.

You wanted to watch from a distance, leaping onto another rooftop to see how the situation rolled out.

At this point, you didn't feel like going to class, a bit scared of the new discovery about your powers.

Who knew you could be that strong.

It's a real shocker.

Laying on your stomach, you leaned against your palm and watched ladybug return to face her copycat. They both used their special power, but the true heroine defeated the akumatized Chloe with a bag of marbles.

Who knew marbles were so strong?

By the end of the fight, you were on your phone, texting adrien. You could tell how close ladybug and chat noir were, and that chat noir probably loved ladybug, but it was a bore.

Crackaroach:
Adrien, where are you? You've been in the bathroom for a long time :/
Hope you aren't constipated lol
But yeah, come back soon mystery man

You stopped texting him and took a run back to campus, keeping one thing in mind;

'I need to fake a story'

By the time you returned, you made sure the bathroom was empty, and to your relief it was. As always.

You let warmth pour upon your body when coming out of invisibility, avoiding the broken glass while approaching the leftover mirror frame.

Reaching your hands out, you decided to test your strength and bend down the rusty metal. It did at ease, and pushing past your fascination you made it seem smaller then it was supposed to be.

Your wiped your hands, which were free of any glowing, and walked to the principals office with an extra skip in your step.

-

Extra dialogue:

"So, the glass just.. shattered? Elaborate, (Last name)" the principal said with a doubtful look on his face.

You sat in his office without an anxious bone in your body, firmly replying,

"When I went in, I noticed how small the frame was, which is probably a reason it broke. The fact it was even hotter today made it shatter to bits!"

"I see..I'll get it cleaned immediately. Don't let word get out of our faulty mirrors and you're off the hook. How does that sound?"

With a smile, you hummed, "sounds like a deal, sir"

And that's how you got away with shattering a mirror.
