Cry’s P.O.V

I quickly got up and stashed the gun that I was currently holding in the back of my jeans, I looked around for something that would help me disable the security on Felix’s cage. But I couldn’t find anything, where would the controls be...?

‘Probably with someone who does the experiments.’ I thought to myself, a frown apparent on my face.

I kneeled back down to face Felix, who had a blank expression on his face.

“Felix, do you remember anyone that was carrying some sort of device that controlled the security on your cage?” He seemed to be in thought for a moment before answering.

“No.”

I groaned out in frustration. Wait, I have a better chance of finding the controls if I pay a small visit to the doctor.

“Okay. Felix, try not to tamper with the security until I get back, okay?”

He nodded, but he had an uneasy expression.

“Cry, you’ll be fine, right?...” Felix asked in a concern voice, I gave him a reassuring smile.

“Of course.”

He didn’t look convinced.

“Promise?...” He placed his hand on the cage, I did so as well, grasping his hand through the bars of his cage.

“I promise.”

With hesitation, he gave me a firm nod. Signaling me that he trusted what I said, I got up and quickly moved out of the tent.

Moving with caution, I walked back into the office where the bad doctor was. I moved my hand behind my back and gripped the handle of my gun, what I was about to do was treason and I could get into serious trouble for it, but I couldn’t leave Felix here to be treated like some sort of animal!

Slowly, I opened the door. And to my surprise, he wasn’t there. I was relieved, but I started looking through all of his things. When I was about to give up, I saw a small rectangular shaped device. I touched the screen and it immediately turned on, a list of controls were on it. I smiled and hid it inside of my jacket and walked out of the office, rushing back towards the tent.

As soon as the tent was in sight, I was prepared to go in and free Felix. Until a cold voice stopped me.

“And where were you?”

I slightly panicked when I heard the doctor’s voice behind me, I turned my head slightly to see him giving me a harsh glare, he was being escorted by two armed guards.

“I-I was using the bathroom…” I responded, stuttering slightly.

He was silent, which made me very nervous.

“Idiot…” I heard him mutter.

“I’m going inside for some testing, just stay outside and guard. Don’t even try looking.” He said  while he pushed right past me, I stayed rooted in my spot. Unsure of what to do.

If I tried to help Felix, I would be shot and that won’t help him…

I'm sorry Felix.

Felix's P.O.V

I sat in my cage, waiting for Cry to return. Most of my wounds healed, but some were still in the process of healing. Which was slightly strange, at this point my wounds would heal up and I’ll look like I wasn’t hurt at all.

My shirt was soaked in blood, and it was kind of sticky. I moved slightly, but stopped immediately after I felt a sharp pain throughout my body. This sucks.

I heard footsteps approaching my cage, the Dead Mother whimpered and I could hear the others back away into their cages. I looked up to see a man in a white coat, two soldiers were at his side. I stared at his white coat, I don’t know why, but it seems very familiar. He looked at me, and then at the set off traps.

“This is annoying, we’re going to have to reset those traps.” He said in a very irritated voice, although he didn’t look mad. He then bent down to my level, and observed me. Which made me uncomfortable.

“Red eyes and doesn’t look deformed, an Almost Human. Observing at all the traps that you set off and how hurt you must be, you seem to have a higher pain tolerance than the creatures I experimented with. Good.”

I frowned. His eyes lit up at my frown.

“You can understand me?” He said with slight amusement, which made me glare at him.

“Yeah I can, rövhål.”

The man raised an eyebrow, and gave a small chuckle out of amusement.

“Interesting, you can communicate and speak another language. I wonder what else you can do…” His sentence trailed off and he gave me a sinister smile, I shivered out of fear.

The man in the white coat got up and motioned for the guards to take me out of my cage, the soldiers did what they were told and forced me out. I tried to struggle but I was still healing and it hurt if I moved.

They made me go towards the other half of the tent, and instead of cages, there was lab equipment. They forced me onto a metal table and strapped me on it, then the emotionless man came and looked at my scared face.

“You can experience emotions? Interesting.” He said to himself while grabbing a pair of surgical gloves and putting them on his hands. Then, he grabbed a scalpel and a syringe.

The man didn’t even say anything to me as he jabbed the needle into my arm, I yelped. In an instant, I felt my body temperature rise and my skin felt like it was burning. I screamed as the feeling became more intense. I wanted so desperately to get out of these restraints and scratch my skin off just so I wouldn’t experience this burning sensation!

He just stood there, watching me as I laid on the table in anguish. He twirled the scalpel around in his hands, probably thinking what else he could do to me. I felt hot tears sliding down my face out of agony, the man grabbed a swab and rubbed it against my cheeks, then put it in some sort of tube.

“Blood tears?...” He questioned to himself and gave it to a soldier, then asked him to put it away, the soldier glanced at me briefly, he had a slight look of pity before turning away and taking the tube.

The man came towards me once again, and lifted up my shirt, revealing my torso.

He took ahold of his scalpel and placed the tip of it on top of my stomach. I froze.

Was he going to cut me open?!

I looked up at him, he didn’t even look back as he dug the scalpel in my skin. I screamed as I felt him slowly trying to cut my stomach open, but he barely made a full cut when the sound of a gun fired.

He stopped immediately and turned around, I turned my head slightly to see Cry pointing his gun at the man. One of the soldiers was on the floor dead, and I felt my heart stricken. I hate seeing death.

The other soldier was next to Cry, also pointing his gun at the man. Cry walked up to the man in the white coat, and hit him with the end of his gun, making the man fall to the floor.

“Snake, tie him up and make sure his mouth stays shut so we can escape.” Cry order the soldier, whose name was apparently Snake. He did so, grabbing the man on the floor roughly and dragging the him to the other side. Cry came over towards me and undid the restraints. He looked guilty and mad at the same time.

“Felix, are you okay?...”

Before I could answer, I felt all of my energy drain out and felt my eyes droop. Soon, all I could see was black and all I could hear was Cry calling out for me, but his voice became faint.

Cry’s P.O.V

I waited outside the tent, feeling pissed at myself for letting that bastard of a doctor go inside and do god knows what to Felix. As soon as the doctor walked inside, everything went dead silent.

No creature seemed irritated by him, I could hear them back away. Soon, I heard a muffled conversation, but it was short. I heard a cage opening and heard a protesting voice, but it was soon replaced with screams of agony.

I felt my chest tighten, I could tell those screams belonged to Felix. I tighten my hold on the gun, wanting so desperately to go inside and help him. But, I would get shot and killed before I could even get near him!

The screaming went on for a bit longer, I felt so mad. No, mad wouldn’t even begin to describe what I’m feeling right now.

Suddenly, I heard soft crying. I gritted my teeth. How could anyone, hurt someone to this extent?! Felix wasn’t human, but he’s a living being! No one should be treated like that!

I peaked inside, they were on the other half of the tent. However one of the soldiers turned around and saw me. I felt my eyes widened. I didn’t look at them clearly, but I recognized one of them.

Snake…

Snake came towards me and pushed me outside of the tent, he looked slightly mad and worried at the same time.

“Cry, what the fuck are you doing?” I took a deep breath before answering, Snake won’t be too happy about what I’m going to say.

“Before you think I’m crazy, I want to tell you that the ‘Monsters’ that you killed, aren’t bad. They’re just misunderstood.”

He stayed silent.

“I’m going to try, and save the person you captured.”

Snake frowned.

“Cry, it will try to hurt-” I cut him off.

“No! Listen, did he ever try to or attempt to hurt you or anyone?” He looked thoughtful for a moment.

“No. Cry, what if it tries to trick you and we all end up hurt? or worse, killed?” Snake argued.

“Snake, remember when we were in the forest? And I got lost? He saved me and helped me get home. I’m returning the favor.”

His eyes widened.

“Help me, I can’t do this alone.” I begged.

“...You know we’re going to get into trouble for this?”

I nodded.

He sighed and nodded, I grabbed my gun. We went back inside slowly, the doctor and the other soldier didn’t even notice us. When I saw the doctor trying to cut open Felix, and he screamed out in pain because of it, I became furious and shot the soldier instead.

Even though I wanted to shoot that fucking doctor. The man turned around, Felix turned his head and looked at the dead soldier, his eyes widened and he cringed. I walked right up to the man and hit him with the back of the gun, making him fall to the ground dropping the scalpel he was holding.

“Snake, tie him up and make sure his mouth stays shut so we can escape.” I asked Snake angrily, just seeing the bastard of a doctor makes me pissed. He did so, grabbing the doctor roughly and going to the other side of the tent to tie him up. I quickly went towards Felix and undid the restraints.

“Felix, are you okay?...”

Before he could answer, his eyes started to droop and he fell asleep. I panicked and shook him, I called out his name but he wouldn’t respond.

Suddenly, I heard noises and heard soldiers approaching the tent. I quickly grabbed Felix and made a run for it, Snake was right beside me.
