Izuku's POV

Getting ready for school was the easy part. The lack of sleep was really getting to me. While I put on my tie I choked myself just to keep myself from falling asleep. I had to throw ice cold water on my face while eating breakfast.

Why could I not sleep? Huh, good question. Maybe it had something to do with the question Toga asked me last night while I was doing a last check on my phone.

Toga🔪~ Hey Mido, hopefully you are asleep and don't see this text until morning but, would you like to come to a Halloween party I'm throwing?

I didn't know what to sayin response to that so I just ignored it until the morning. But my response was just replaying in my head, trying to find the kindest way to say that I'm busy. But the problem is, I wasn't busy. I also have another problem:

I CAN'T SAY NO!!!

This became apparent to me through a series of events hosted by some annoying people who didn't even like me very much, but were forced to invite me out of pity. I would have preferred to just cuddle up at home and rewatch some old All Might videos on YouTube. But no, my mind just can't say no to an offer. Even if I really want to, I'll just procrastinate until my fingers can talk and not my mouth.

I pull out my phone to tell a Toga that I'm busy, I see the time in the top corner of the screen. Shoot, I'm almost late for the bus! I grab my bag and sling it over my shoulder as I bolt out of my house. Racing as fast as I can, I see the bus pull up to my stop and just as the doors close I start to bang on the door. Luckily, I've been taking this bus for the past few years so the driver is playfully angry with me.

"Glad to see you decided to wake up." The bus driver is always making short remarks like that. His salmon colored hair flying off his face as he swung his face around to drive.

Izu~ what do I say? Hey Toga! I feel honored to be invited to your party. I'll defiantly see you there! 😁

What did I just do?

Toga and I continued to talk everyish day and just rambled on about our day and what the struggle was this time. Mainly it was school stupidity for me and lots of depression from Toga which really surprised me. I never really felt depressed, just insecure. I'm trying to be a good friend but having a busy schedule does not help with listening to rants.

Every Tuesday and Thursday, after school, I have nature club, which we basically just go into a forest or park and we just pick up the trash and have fun. My best friends Todo, Ura and Iida are the ones that 'encouraged' me to join, by that I mean they forced me to join.

After texting Toga about how rewarding it made me feel, she just joined the club out of the blue! I mean I'm not complaining, but I already had a group that I would hang out with while picking up trash. Don't get me wrong, I love to hang out with my friends, Toga included, but I like to have peaceful times where I am free from judgement.

-Time skip to Tuesday afternoon, October 20 (11 days til Halloween)-

"Hey Mido!" Toga screams to me as she bends over and grabs her knees while trying to catch her breath. "So how are you doing? Are you getting pumped for Halloween?" She stands up and starts to make that fake, genuine smile.

A little startled by the mention of Halloween, I start to blush a little. "Oh, yeah! I c-can't wait!" I am genuinely excited, I've never been invited to a Halloween party before. Like sure I've gone trick-or-treating before, but this is an actual, high school level party. I bet Toga knows lots of people, I can't wait to meet lots of new, interesting, scary costumed people. I'm not a big fan of graphic horror anything. "Hey would you mind if I bring a friend? Just to feel not too out of place." I chuckle a little.

"Oh yeah, of course! The more the merrier!" Her response sounded genuine enough. But now the question comes, who do I invite? Kacchan? He would probably say no and blow up Togas house if he went. Todo? I don't think he's a very big people's person. Iida? He's too big on rules to go to a party at night. Ura? She would defiantly want to go!

"Sounds great!" I pull off one of my signature big toothy smiles. "I'm going to go pick up some trash with my other friends over there and see who wants to come!" Another signature smile and I turned and confidently walked back to Ura.

"What's making you so happy? Is the trash finally getting to your head?" She giggles for a second and then stabs a small plushie with her trash spear. She took this club very seriously.

"No I'm still sane. Unlike you. Who would stab a frog plushie with a dirty spear?" My rhetorical question was answered with an annoyed look and a small chuckle. "Anyway, how would you like to go to a Halloween party with me?" I put my finger on my cheek to look extra cute. There's no way she could refuse, right?

"Ooh sorry, but my friend Kari has her birthday on Halloween, and I already promised her I would go to her party. I'm so sorry." She put her hands together and started to bow. She really was sorry, but it's not her fault that her friends birthday is on Halloween.

"Oh stop apologizing, it's not like I care, I can just go to a girls Halloween party all by myself. Not knowing anyone." I put on my signature puppy dog eyes. And she starts to apologize again.

I burst out laughing so hard I think I hurt my diaphragm. "I really don't care, tell this Kari person happy birthday for me. I'm really fine. Stop caring." It's really fine. I just now have to go alone. I can totally do this!
