Chapter 13

I rewrote like all of last chapter so make sure you've read it.

Izuku's POV

I knock on Kacchan's door, hoping I'm not imposing too much. My mom left this morning to go up north to see my grandpa in the hospital.

"Who is- oh hi Deku. Come on in." Kacchan directs me to the couch and I just sit like old times. "I'm really sorry to hear about your gramps."

"Oh, uhh thanks. I'm really sorry to intrude on you guys. It's been... hard on me when my mom told me. Thanks Kacchan, for everything."

"Anytime nerd." He stands up and grabs my small bag I packed. "I've got a bunk bed still so you can sleep on the top while here. Unfortunately the Old Hag has all of her sewing and girly stuff occupying the guest room."

"That's fine, it'll be just like old times." Back when we were four we had sleepovers all the time. But that changed a bit when he got his quirk.

He winced a little at my comment about old times. But I must be imagining things again.

We went up and his room is just as organized as always. His workout equipment separated cleanly from his academic work. He hasn't changed much at all.

I quickly jump up the ladder and onto the bunk. "Come on Kacchan, get up here!" He just tch's and throws me my bag while he climbs up.

He sits down beside me and we fall into a silence, a bit awkward but that's fine. My middle name is awkward.

I decide to break the silence with some light chat, "so how are you? Anything exciting going on?"

"Not anything out of the ordinary. Regular training and studying. I'm doing well right now." There's that silence again.

"So tell me what you said to Toga. Since you won't let me handle her, I want to know what you said." Wow, not even easing into the light questions.

"I actually haven't said anything yet. She said the L word and I froze up. But I've been stressing out about so much recently it has been hard."

"Well I don't care if she said the L word. I'm texting her if you don't."

"No Kacchan please don't-"

"You can't stop me. You never have and you never will. So text her by tomorrow or I am." He can be quite annoying at times. Luckily I've become an expert negotiator.

"If you cook me Katsudon I'll text her tonight." I bat my eyelashes to make it all the more convincing.

"Deal." And with that we get off the bunk bed and head into the kitchen. "So you compose a text and then we review it over dinner."

"Ugh fine." I pull out my phone and start on a note instead of text. What would happen if I accidentally pushed send? I don't want to make that mistake. "Where is your mom? Shouldn't she be here too?"

"Work. Now tell me what you want to say." He pulls out all the ingredients and starts the rice.

"I was thinking along the lines of: You're a really sweet girl, and you'll make someone very happy one day. But I'm not that person right now, and I'm just not looking for a relationship right now so if you could stop insisting on this, I think we could be really good friends again. What do you think Kacchan?"

"I think, you should stop trying to be her friend. If I know one thing, it's that it takes a lot more than a few turn downs to make someone forget and move on."

"How would you know that? You never told me you liked someone. Who and when was this?" Very intrigued now, I lean forward on my seat.

"Lean back or you'll fall on your face nerd. And I don't live under a rock, I've had a crush before."

"Wow, the great Bakugo Katsuki was won over by someone, I bet they were really special to you."

Kacchan scoffs, "wow that's the first time in many years you've said my real name Midoriya Izuku. I thought you had forgotten it or something."

I gasp. I thought he had actually forgotten my name, yet here he was, teasing me by saying my real name for the first time since he got his quirk. "Awe Kacchan, you called me something other than Deku or nerd. It really warms my heart that you've grown past your superiority complex."

"What superiority complex?" He takes a moment while I start to laugh. "Okay I might have a slight superiority complex, but you don't get to point that out Deku." And we're back to the nickname.

"Back to the issue at hand, who was it that won the explosion lord's heart?"

"No one, now eat up." He finished making the food quite quickly, but I'm not complaining. He's a great cook and he made my favorite.

I wasted no time, I took the bowl from him and sat down again and put a large spoonful in my mouth. "Wait Deku-" too late, it was in my mouth completely, "... it's still hot." I spit it out and quickly rush to the sink where a glass was sitting. I quickly drank the water and refilled it and brought it back with me.

"Thanks for the heads up Kacchan." After that I took it slow and blew down each bite before I ate it.

We finished and did the dishes then headed back to his room. "Did we have any homework this weekend?"

"Yes we did nerd, I'm surprised you didn't listen or do it yet. I can help you if you want though." How could I have missed that? I pay attention in class and take notes on everything.

"Thanks Kacchan, you're the best!" I gave him a quick hug then pulled away quickly and grabbed my school bag while blushing slightly. "What subject was it in?"

"Math, your worst one."

"What? I'm great at math, what are you talking about?" He's talking about the fact that I'm close to failing it this semester with a B-.

He rolls his eyes and pulls out a textbook and his work. We sat there and worked for a while and he explained a few problems I didn't understand. It was great to be normal friends again.

Bello peeps!!

I've returned from the dead and I'm so- nope I apologize too much. I have reawaken from the depths of writers block and have come back full force. I'm not sure when I'll update again, but it will be not too long.

So I have finally reached the actual bend from reality to this. My grandfather had a stroke two years ago and this fic is based off of this fall.

Also I'm not going to post another chapter until I get a single comment. Even if it is just a 'hi' i feel like nobody reads this story and it make me depressed to know that. So just say hi and I might shout out to you, who knows.

Love you all so much. Bye!

Shout out to BisexualCricket for allowing me into a cult.
