Izuku stared at the piece of paper in his hands, examining the blueprint of the building. Uraraka did the same beside him.

"The blueprints of the building... Better remember these," She glanced at Izuku. "There's no punishment for failing like with Aizawa-sensei, but you on the other hand..."

Izuku hadn't noticed he'd been shaking until she said that. He forcefully calmed himself down and took out a small notebook and pen.

'Sorry,' he wrote. 'Just nervous. I mean, we're up against Kacchan and Iida, too. We'd better be on guard...'

"Oh yeah..." Uraraka muttered. "Bakugou's the one who teased you, huh?"

'Teased is kinda-' Izuku stopped writing and shook his head. He grabbed the page, crumbled it, and started writing something else.

'He may be a jerk, but he's amazing. His goals, his strength, his quirk... he's stronger than me in every way. But that's just all the more a reason to try my best. I don't wanna lose to him.'

"So you're like fated rivals, huh?" Uraraka added.

Izuku sweat dropped. 'I don't know how to respond to that.'

When five minutes were up, All Might started the timer and Uraraka and Izuku slipped into the building through an open window.

"Infiltration complete," Uraraka whispered dramatically.

The inside of the building wasn't exactly like a building at all. It was just a bunch of dark hallways that led to nowhere, kind of like a maze. Izuku shivered at the thought of the cramped and dark halls before forcing it out of his mind.

Izuku nodded towards a lighter hallway and started walking, Uraraka following close behind.

He still couldn't regulate One For All, so it would be wise not to try to use it against anyone.

"Even if I did, One For All probably would kill them..." Izuku thought. "All we've got to work with is my physical strength and Uraraka's Zero Gravity. We'll have to make do with what we can..."

Izuku looked around the corner and searched for any danger or a stair case to the next floor.

"Scope out the whole place," Izuku recalled. "Gotta remember all of my notes on indoor scenarios and tight spaces in general."

His ears perked up at the sound of thumping footsteps from a hallway in front of him. Just around the corner, out jumped Bakugou, eyes focused on Izuku and fist pulled back.

Izuku's eyes widened and he immediately pushed Uraraka back.

"Uwah-!" She let out, surprised.

Bakugou's fist slammed into the wall next to him, an explosion ripping through the silence. Izuku felt half of his mask rip away, but he was too shocked to care.

"He really did come straight to me!"

Izuku glanced worriedly over at Uraraka, hoping she was okay.

Uraraka nodded, getting the message. "Y-Yeah, I'm fine. You okay?"

Izuku gave a swift nod and turned towards Bakugou as the smoke from his explosion cleared.

"Nice dodging, Deku," Bakugou sneered, glaring at him through the smoke.

Izuku felt a chill run up his spine. His limbs started to become stiff, but he shook the feeling off.

"Now's not the time for that."

Bakugou jumped up and aimed another blow at him. "I'll beat you up so bad that they'll have to stop the fight!"

Before he could get a punch in, Izuku grabbed his arm and slung it over his shoulder. Bakugou let out a surprised noise as he was flipped off of Izuku's back and hit the floor roughly with a loud thud. Izuku turned to look at him, breathing hard.

As Bakugou struggled to get up, Izuku quickly looked at Uraraka who was staring at the two in shock. Izuku pointed to a hallway and mouthed 'go.' It took her a moment to figure out what he meant, but she then gave a worried look at him. Izuku nodded and she ran off.

Bakugou wiped the spit off of his lip and glared at Izuku who now faced him, his hair covering his eyes.

"You little shit," Bakugou sneered. "You let her leave just so she wouldn't see you getting your ass-"

A quiet, raspy voice cut him off.

"...You always... start with a right hook, Kacchan."

Bakugou's eyes widened at the voice he hadn't heard since he was four. So long ago that he probably forgot what it even sounded like.

Izuku's fierce gaze met Bakugou's as he coughed, the use of his voice felt foreign and hurt after so long. He didn't know why he could suddenly speak, but Izuku assumed it was a one time thing. It'd probably go away after the activity.

"...I've seen and... been hit with it enough t-to know... I've always analyzed heroes I... I've thought we're cool... i-in that notebook you threw out the window that day..." Izuku croaked out quietly before coughing again.

His gaze turned into a glare as he stared down Bakugou. "I'm not gonna be your u-useless punching bag Deku anymore...! K-Kacchan, I'm the Deku that will do his b-best!" He was shaking and he didn't know why.

Bakugou gained control of his emotions and growled. He forced himself to his feet and glared at Izuku in fury.

"Spouting that crap while you're scared outta your wits... It pisses me off!"

Izuku waited for him to charge, but Bakugou just stood there, huffing. He suddenly scowled.

"Just shut up and keep watch! I'm about a' pound someone inta' dust!" Bakugou said under his breath.

"Iida," Izuku thought immediately. "He must've left him behind with the weapon."

Bakugou looked back up and shot an explosion behind him, propelling him forward. As Bakugou flew over to him and aimed to knee him in the head, Izuku took out his capture tape and wrapped it around his leg before quickly dodging.

Izuku heard Bakugou 'tsk' before landing behind him.

"If I know Kacchan, he won't stop just because he's been captured. He'll come at me again-" Izuku's thoughts were cut short as Bakugou pulled a punch.

Izuku barely had time to dodge Bakugou's right hook but managed to. The force explosion pushed Izuku back a bit and he landed in a crouch.

"I've gotta come up with a strategy! If I keep going, I might get hurt... or worse!"

With that, Izuku quickly turned around and raced around a corner, Bakugou's angry shouts growing further in the distance.

"You must've had fun tricking me this whole time!" Izuku heard Bakugou rage. "Right?! Hiding that flashy quirk of yours?!"

An explosion was heard and his voice drowned in it. "Bring it on! I'm gonna crush you no matter what you try!"

———————————————

"He's really angry..." Kaminari muttered as Bakugou almost punched Midoriya with an explosion.

"Yeah... it's kinda scary..." Sero agreed as Midoriya narrowly dodged his punch.

"It's amazing how he can go head-to-head with the number one scorer in the entrance exams," Ojiro muttered.

The whole class stared up at the monitor and watched as Midoriya ran away from Bakugou and appeared on another monitor.

"Why is he running away?!" Kirishima shouted. "He just up and left the fight! How unmanly!"

"In that situation, that would probably be the best thing to do," Todoroki stated solemnly. "That Bakugou seems to be acting rashly."

Beside him, Yaoyorozu nodded. "Indeed."

Siting in his seat, Toshinori took notes on the students' progress. He agreed with Todoroki's statement, though. Midoriya had once told him about how impulsive Bakugou was. At first, he'd thought it wasn't too bad, but that was until he saw the two fight against each other. Bakugou didn't seem to be cutting anyone any slack. He'd abandoned Iida to protect the fake bomb alone and immediately went after Midoriya. When Uraraka left, Bakugou hadn't even glanced at her and started at Midoriya.

Toshinori could hear all of their conversations just fine, but when spoke the second time, it seemed as though Bakugou was talking to someone. For a while, he didn't even move.

He watched as Midoriya hid around a corner to rest. On another monitor, however, Bakugou seemed to be stomping down the halls angrily, occasionally shouting out threats and curses.

"You must've had fun tricking me this whole time! Right?! Hiding that flashy quirk of yours?!" Bakugou shouted.

Toshinori nodded slightly. "Right," He remembered. "Young Bakugou and Young Midoriya were childhood friends. Either way, Young Bakugou really seems to be a handful... All his pride must've reached his head and inflated his ego! Looks like I've got a lot to work on... It's my responsibility as a teacher, after all..."
