The call
James' POV
I was walking to work with my best friend, Thomas Jefferson, he was ranting about Hamilton as usual.
I sighed and rolled my eyes, ignoring him. We eventually showed up at our work-building, heading inside.
He continued to vent about Hamilton until I snapped, "It's always Hamilton this, Hamilton that!" I spat and gripped onto my work papers tightly.
I gritted my teeth and continued down the hall that led to my office. "When do we ever get to do what I want to do? You never pay attention to me! Did you even notice when I broke up with Aaron, you insolent prick?!" I shouted as I entered my office.
"Jemmy I-" "No! Don't Jemmy me, I was a wreck for a week... you hear me?! A week! You didn't even visit, instead you called me and talked about Hamilton some more!" I snarled, facing my back towards him.
"James... I'm s-" "Don't start. Let me know when you'll truly mean your apology. Get out of my office." I growled, Thomas frowned and left silently.
He shut the door gently and continued his way to his office, thoughts swirled in his mind.

"I don't even know why I'm friends with that asshole." James muttered under his breath. His tail escaped and began to curl with annoyance, and his ears twitched with fury.
James took a deep breath and put his tail back in his jeans, sitting down on his chair and beginning to write things down.

"No! Don't Jemmy me, I was a wreck for a week... you hear me?! A week! You didn't even visit, instead you called me and ranted about Hamilton some more!" Jemmy shouted.
"James I'm s-" he cut me off again. "Don't start. Let me know when you'll truly mean your apology. Get out of my office." Jemmy barked, his back facing me.
I frowned but didn't say anything, I did as he asked and left. I shut the door quietly and continued my way down the hall and to my office.
Thoughts danced in my mind, my mood lifted as I thought of a perfect way to apologize! I grinned broadly but it became a lopsided grin as Hamilton approached me.
He had bags under my eyes and looked stressed, I felt kinda bad for the guy.... who am I kidding, no I don't!
"What'd you do today, Jeffershit?" Hamiwhore sniggered. "Your mom." I gave a smug smirk, holding my head high victoriously. His smile dropped into a gasp, I shrugged and continued on my way.
I entered my office with a loud slam, sitting down peacefully at my chair. I called up a friend, leaning my head on my shoulder to keep my phone in place.
I began to scribble down some things, working silently with a soft hum. The ringing stopped and a voice piped up.

Y/N POV
I walked up next, "Just a hot cocoa, please." I told the barista, the woman smiled and nods. She placed my order and I sat down at a Abel in the corner of Starbucks.
I pulled out my laptop and began to work, someone called out my name. I got up and approached the woman, she had caramel skin and back hair.
I thanked her and took my hot cocoa, I sat back down at the corner table. I sipped the hot liquid and instantly relaxed at its taste, I began to type away again.
My fingers dance in sync while I typed swiftly, my phone buzzed. I sighed and picked up the electric box, pressing it to my phone.
"What is it, I'm busy." I said gently, typing with one hand while I held my phone with the other. "Would you like to go on a blind date with a friend of mine? You're still single, I assume?" The voice replied, I thought for a moment.
"Yes I'm still single. I guess I could, I need to get away from work anyways. Time and place?" I spoke softly and took another sip of cocoa.
"Tonight around 8, and at Olive Garden?" His voice asked, "Alright, see you both there..." I mumbled. "Bye." The southern accent voice said, I gave a muffled 'goodbye' and hung up.

James' POV
Thomas entered my office and I glanced up at him, I grumbled something incoherently and went back to working.
"James... I'm sorry, and I mean it. I was very inconsiderate, and you don't deserve to be treated that way. Nobody does..... well except maybe for Hamilton, but, that not the point!" Thomas said the last part quickly.
I arched a brow and shifted my attention to him, setting my pen down. "And Aaron was a prick anyways, he didn't deserve some like you." Thomas muttered.
My ears flicked forward with interest, wondering where this would go. Luckily they were just barely hidden.
"So, to make up for it.... I've set you up for a blind date!" Thomas exclaimed, clapping happily. I sighed and roll my eyes, "Seriously?" I grumbled.
"Seriously. It's at 8, so we need to get you ready! It's seven now and you need a full makeover!" Thomas squeaked and grabbed my wrist, dragging me out.
I huffed and allowed him to drag me, he raced into the parking lot and shoved me into his car. "Thomas, what about my car?" I mumbled. "Already taken care of, Lafayette's gonna take it to your place." Thomas smiled.
I let out a chuckle and glanced outside, Thomas pulled out and sped off. I grasped onto the handle that hung above my head, for dear life.
I'm in for a night...
