Lily ran faster and faster.
She wanted to get away.
Away from the insults.
Away from the pain.

Away from Severus.

The word Mudblood resonated in her mind.
He had called her a mudblood.

She'd only wanted to help.
Her his former best friend and Severus eternal love.

Lily's clothes were drenched by the rain.
Her cloak was dripping with water.

After half an eternity Lily reached her favorite place, the old oak tree.
Her rain soaked red hair looked almost black, lay on her narrow shoulders and covered a portion of her drenched blouse.
There on the wet grass she sat and wept.

A figure hesitantly walked over to her, drenched by the rain and with a bad conscience.
That figure was James Potter.

Lily heard a branch crack and looked up.
She looked at James and for a brief moment, hardly more than a fleeting, then she turned her face away already feeling a flood of  fresh tears.

James sat down next to her.
He pattet her back, again and again and eventually Lily's sobs subsided.
She had stopped crying.
She looked up at James green eyes meet hazel, and this time they remained like that for quite a while.
Until Lily leaned to James and said; '' Thank you for always being there for me ''

James was about to answer but Lily placed her lips gently on his.

And so it began, there under the old oak tree.
