Chapter 3- Day 1
Third person POV
It was a lovely and sunny morning. The clouds delicately surrounded the sun into a ring, the breeze was great, the temperature outside wasn't too hot or too cold— It was a peaceful morning out in the woods.
"....." Tenshi blinked many times up at the ceiling while observing her hands to see if they were real.
"*Gasp* This is real!" Tenshi bolted up from the sheets of her new bed and accidentally rolled off the bed.
"Oof!" She exclaimed, rubbing her elbows in pain.
"Darn western styled beds." She pouted, kicking the wooden peg, but immediately regretted it and cried as she held onto her poor toe.
—————
"Good morning everyone! Good morning big brother~!" Tenshi plopped herself onto of Kyo's back, hugging him from behind despite his refusal.
"Get off of me!" Kyo grumbled, removing Tenshi's arms that clinched around his neck and shoulders.
"Are you never going to accept a hug from your sister? You're pathetic." Yuki blurted out, sipping onto some green tea calmly.
"URK! WHAT DID YOU SAY?!" Kyo bursted out, gaining more and more tic marks.
"I don't have to repeat it. If you could just listen, maybe you could understand."
Tenshi quietly exited the room and slipped into the kitchen. She let out a deep sigh and ran her fingers through her hair before tightening the string to her kimono.
"Oh! Good morning!"
"Ah! G-good morning to you too Honda-san!" Tenshi squeaked, taken by surprise that she didn't hear the sound of cooking just earlier when she entered.
"Please call me Tohru! We are close in age and we can be friends!"
"Ah! Thank you Tohru! Please do call me Tenshi!"
"How did you sleep? Was everything alright?" Tohru kindly asked.
"I slept well and I find everything to be a joy." Tenshi smiled, walking over to the kitchen counter.
Tohru gleamed at her response. "Did you want to help me cook breakfast?"
"I-I actually can't cook... I've never actually step foot into a kitchen before." Tenshi sheepishly scratched her cheek, sweat dropping in embarrassment.
"Oh." Tohru hummed with a thought. "Ah! Would you like for me to teach you?"
"S-sure! Thank you!" Tenshi exclaimed and accepted an apron from Tohru.
"No problem! So first, we have to wash the rice!" Tohru said, taking the lead of the instructions.
"L-like this?" Tenshi stuttered, unsure if she was rinsing the rice correctly.
"Yeah! You're doing it right!" Tohru praised.
'So you don't use soap after all....?' Tenshi pondered.
"Hmph..." Shigure smiled, walking past the door and to the main room where Yuki and Kyo were glaring at each other to death.
"It's a lovely day~! You two should just kiss and make up~!" Shigure laughed with his hand over his mouth, making the two young teens snap.
"LIKE HELL I WOULD!" Kyo shouted, slamming the table.
"Not even holy water can cleanse me if that were to happen." Yuki scowled, glaring at Shigure.
"UGH! Why do I have to be surrounded by idiots?!" Kyo grumbled, face palming himself.
"Yeah. You should stop hanging out by yourself you idiot." Yuki commented.
"No one was suppose to respond to my statement you damn rat!" Kyo threw his head back, hissing and grumbling incoherent threats.
"Ah~! What a lovely day~..." Shigure chuckled with his eyes closed in upside down "U" shape.
—————
After a very talkative breakfast, Shigure had everyone remain at the table. He had a few or more words to say about Tenshi's reasoning to stay and live with them as he mentioned last night.
"As questioned the previous night, you all have not heard of a Tenshi Sohma. And that is true." Tenshi said quite seriously, placing her hand over her chest.
"......" Yuki stared at the table, unable to look up into her eyes.
"I've been kept in locks and secret to keep my presence known very scarcely to none. The ones who knows of me being in the family are Shigure, Hatori, and Ayame." Tenshi started off.
"Since Tenshi is Kyo's sister, who is the zodiac of the cat, she ended up taking your place in name and status of the consequences." Shigure further explained.
"What?!" Kyo exclaimed, slamming the table and surprising the two girls.
"Was there a reason why she took on the name as the cat? It would only make sense if it were to be the one who posses the curse." Yuki elaborately questioned.
"It's rather puzzling to think about it. Akito gets whatever he wants." Tenshi sighed, closing her eyes. "However. Now that I sentenced over a decade in secret, I lost my name and status to even be considered a zodiac. I have been allowed to live here with Shigure as my guardian."
"You'd have to be four or five if you were 'gone' for a decade. I'm sure I would have remembered something about you being my sister." Kyo blurted out, his eyes still not believing the story much.
"You are so stubborn." Shigure sighed, making Kyo snap.
"We have only seen each other once in our lifetime excluding now. We were separated once I was born and was given to another family and their care until I was about four and a half." Tenshi rubbed her hands together, staring into Kyo's eyes.
"...." Kyo was rendered speechless and saw that there wasn't a hint of a lie in Tenshi's purple orbs, but rather, they were filled with the slightest bit of sorrow.
"Please believe in me, Kyo." Tenshi warmly smiled, placing her hand over his fist gently.
"... *Sigh* Whatever. It'll just take me some time to get use to all of this information." Kyo shut his eyes, removing his hand away.
"Of course." Tenshi nodded her head. "And so, it is the same reason that whenever I hug the opposite gender of the zodiac, they won't transform."
"That makes a lot more sense!" Tohru exclaimed, but her brows were still dense at the painful thought of Tenshi's upbringing.
"That is all I have to share about why I have suddenly moved here." Tenshi finished, retracting her hand from Kyo's.
"Now that you three are aware of this, please keep it on the down low." Shigure had his usual grin, a fan slightly covering it.
"Hah? Why?" Kyo blurted.
"It's completely fine for the others to meet Tenshi, but speaking word about the reason as to why Tenshi appeared here would cause Akito to do even more damage to the family and Tenshi." Shigure answered, fanning himself very lightly.
"Ah..." Yuki's breath stopped, remembering bits and pieces of his past.
Shigure clapped his hands together and cleared his throat.
"You three will be late for school if you don't leave soon~!" Shigure laughed, watching the three scramble for their belongings.
Tenshi let out a small giggle.
"Have fun! Please do tell me the fun stories of school when you come back!"
"Of course! I can't wait for you to meet my friends!" Tohru gleamed, waving goodbye to Shigure and Tenshi.
"If he does anything weird, I give you permission to hit him." Yuki's bluntly said.
"What?! How can you give her permission for something like that?! I won't dare to hurt her!" Shigure whined.
"Oh shut up." Kyo hissed and glanced at Tenshi.
Tenshi senses someone's gaze and looked over to Kyo. She gave him a small and sweet smile.
"Tch..." Kyo clicked his tongue and turned his back towards the house. "I'm leaving. I don't want to be late."
"Since when did you like getting to school early." Yuki said, following the path to school.
"SHUT UP!"
"P-please don't fight!" Tohru exclaimed, panicking as she walked in between them.
Tenshi laughed quietly to herself as she watched the trio walk off the property.
"Shigure... I think I'll enjoy my time here..."
"I'm sure you will Tenshi."
