Maddie was now 14, her parents just got divorced, and her brother died from an overdose, but her mother refused to believe it. She just kept saying to Maddie, "Oh he's just sleeping, school is just really rough on him, ya know?" Garbage. It was Summer. So your mother just let him 'sleep' in his bedroom until he woke up. But you knew better than that.

Right now she was staying at Dad's apartment, and he was starting to drink a good bit. At least he could see her on the weekends, for now.

Her room was pretty nice and it was late in the night, her laptop the only thing providing light. She could make out the form of the doggo, Gizmo sleeping in the corner though. He's such a good pupper.

Right now she was working on editing some videos of her Dad's. She was really starting to worry about him. She also worries about her Mom's sanity as well. She was becoming more and more irresponsible day by day.

She could tell that her father has been getting more and more depressed every day. But not too much yet, he could still see her at least. Maddie couldn't bring herself to telling him that Chad is dead. She never wanted to bring her dad to cry, she had seen that way too much recently.

That's the interesting thing about editing, even if you're editing the video of someone depressed, making them seem more happy, they're still depressed.

Mom had been dropping off plates in her brother's room. How she didn't notice that he wasn't dead yet, she had no idea. Especially since when a person dies the decomposition begins immediately. The room was starting to stink.

She decided to take a break from editing for a bit and decided to do some drawing. Maddie had already finished all of the programming she wanted to do today and had finished all of the videos to be edited today. So our protagonist turned on her lamp and started doodling this little 1930's-esc man. It was cool. It was then that I realized I got a new email. Maddie opened it up and it was another video to be edited. She decided that she'll edit it tomorrow, she was already ahead on schedule anyway, and there's nothing wrong with taking a break. Maddie downloaded the video and watched the video. It was a family tree video! Maddie knew that soon she wouldn't be able to see her dad again. She was wanting to run away if that was to happen. She watched the video and found out just how many brothers her dad has. They all looked similar, but they had something that made them different than others. It was then she heard her dad say this. "Ya know, there has always been this family for a while, and we have no idea what it means." He then cleared his throat and said out the paragraph, "The result of a broken promise, the one with the power that only an editor or great importance has, shall fall victim to the awful thing that is called evil. They have the ability to make anything and make anything extremely powerful. They will fight back the evil, and fight against all of their misfortune. We have no clue what that could mean, but I thought it would be interesting!"

Maddie continued watching and one specific brother caught your attention, Marvin. He was said to be one of the kindest people out there. Actually, just about everyone seemed really nice. So she decided to do some sneaking around and you opened your door, which Gizmo was awoken by and Maddie automatically felt superbad for waking up her little pupper. The question is, would she take Gizmo? She'll figure that out later. Gizmo being the good doggo that she is, she walked after you, ready to protect you at any moment. She opened her dad's little container holding a lot of random contacts such as the pizza place and other various places. Maddie searched for a good while until finally coming across Marvin's contacts and a bunch of the other's contacts that she heard in the video. Maddie grabbed all of the cards and put the contacts into her phone so she could call them tomorrow since it was way past other's bedtimes and Maddie slipped under her bed, cuddled up with Gizmo, and turned off her lamp, the apartment was now pitch black as you soon fell asleep, with her dog laying down near her.
