A girl around 14 years old running through the streets of Domino City, she had golden-blonde hair with red highlights in it up to her waist in a high ponytail her bangs covered her forehead she had chin-length bangs framing either side of her face with white, dark blue snow pattern ribbon.

She has sky-blue eyes that people can tell what her personality is like and make it out, she was wearing a white sleeves drees v-shirt with blue outlines and a simple blue jean vest, she wore dark blue jean shorts with a black belt and a second belt that hang diagonal side of her waist holding two deck cases, to complete it she wore black sneakers with white outlines. She had two red and two snow-like brackets on each wrists they are different widths and dark blue with red outline ribbon chocker on and two long beautiful gold and red pendants.

Her name is Aira Judai Yuki a student who was running late to a Test Entrance to Duel Academy, she was running at a fast speed having a backpack on her back.

"M-m-man, n-n-never, e-ever listen to Uncle Joey prep talk..." Aira was sweating talking to finish the sentence while running. "A-a-again, h-he k-kept me up l-l-late." She stuttered finishing the sentence.

Aira shivered for a second thinking about her Uncles and Aunties reaction, 'Yep Uncle Seto won't be happy along with Aunt Mai and Aunt Tea. Why do I get the feeling that he's going to get hit big time from them?' She picked up the speed with only 6 minutes left till the entrance exams closes.

At front of the Entrance Exams hall, a man wearing a suit with two other women wearing Ra clothes sitting in front of a desk, the man checked his watched looking at the time. "Alright Ladies, time to pack. No show are no show." The man told the two ladies as they gathered the papers.

Then they heard someone yelling and the voice kept getting louder and louder. "WAIT!! PLEASE WAIT!! I'M HERE!!" Aira yelled to get their attention and she did.

She stopped running trying to catch her breath and sweating. "I-I'm r-really s-s-sorry t-that I'm l-late." She stuttered.

"I'm Aira Judai Yuki, present thank you." She said with a bright smile to them.

"Aira-sama?" The man asked.

"Oh, hi Rolon. How are ya?" She asked. Aira knows Rolon due to him working for Seto Kaiba and he helped her around the KaibaCorps when she was little.

"I'm great but Mr Kaiba call a few minutes ago and would like to know why your late."

Aira winces a bit, "I'll call him back or he'll call me. But please don't tell anyone about my relationship with him please." She begged.

Rolon nodded, "Of course."

Aira wrote information at was on her papers that the ladies had given her; name, age, birth, blood-type, parents/relationships/guardians... Aira froze at that part she didn't know what to write and went with begin an orphanage child, her guardians are pretty much more than three and they are famous people. Aira finished the paper; the two ladies wished her good luck and waved good-bye.

Aira walked inside and looked around seeing different duels that are happening at the moment, then she felt her phone vibrating in her pocket. She grabbed her phone that is red with a white snowflakes pattern in front and checks the number on it.

She smiled at the name, she answered it, [Hello, Ai did you make it to the exam.] A young man voice asked with concerned.

"Hello Uncle Yugi. Yeah I did make it to the exam, it was about to close but I made it." Aira replied.

The man voice identified as Yugi Mutou the King of Kings himself smiled at his adopted niece. [That's good. Kaiba is right here now along with the others and asking that how are you late? And I'm wondering that as well actually.] He said in a curious tone.

Aira was nervous when she heard the name Kaiba it was her Uncle Seto Kaiba the head of the KaibaCorps Company. "Umm... you see its Uncle Joey fault." She answered back to him.

Yugi raised an eyebrow, [Joey? What did Joey do this time?] He asked, as he saw he's friends glaring daggers at a young man with short blonde hair and brown eyes who is Joey Wheeler who was laughing sheepishly, Seto Kaiba is a young man with short brown hair with blue eyes, he was about to hit him on the head when a young women with long blonde hair, wearing purple clothes it was Mai Valentine, she hit him on the head first then everyone. Yugi sweat drop at his friend's reaction.

"Well..." She trailed off. "He kept me up late last night talking to me over the phone about the exam and to never under estimate my opponent no matter who they are and other things. He kept up for 5 hours at least so I only got a couple of hours sleep before today came, Uncle Yugi." Aira yawned as she spoke to him.

[I see...] Yugi trailed off seeing his friends talking or yelling at Joey for what he did to her, he gave a nervous laugh.

[Well, I don't what to kept you to long now, by Ai and be careful. Don't forget to call every day now. Good luck at the exam you'll do great and remember...] Yugi trailed off to be cut in by Aira.

"I know Believe in the Heart of the Cards." She smiled, "Bye Uncle Yugi and tell everyone that I will call them every day and I'll be safe. And also tell them to go easy on Uncle Joey as I'm hearing screams right now. Bye Love you all." Aira shut her phone. "Well here I go." She started to walk to see a duel that is happening.

The duel that Aira was watching was between a black-haired guy dueling against a blue coated examiner that was wearing sunglasses. The boy had 3200 life points while the examiner only had 1900 life points left. It looked like the black hair guy was about to win but the examiner had two defensive-type monsters on his field while the guy only had a Vorse Raider and one face down on his side.

"Alright new guy, you got two monsters staring you down. Do you A) Throw in the towel, B) Beg for mercy, or C) Run home to Mama?" The examiner taunted the boy.

"I'll go with D) None of the above!" The boy replied as he activated his facedown which turned out to be Ring of Destruction and he placed it on his own Vorse Raider. His monster was destroyed and both players took damage but the examiner lost the last of his life points.

"Clever move, applicant, welcome to the academy." The duel examiner praised.

The boy bowed with respect. "Thank you oh wise proctor." He replied.

"That guy is pretty good, don't you think, Chazz?" One of the boys asked who had blue hair and glasses.

"Guess the rumors about him being some kind of whiz guy were true, huh Chazz, huh?" The other boy added who had dark brown hair.

The boy that they were talking to was leaning back in his chair with his arms stretched out from behind him. He had dark black hair and grey eyes. "He's a punk," The boy they named Chazz spat, unimpressed by this. "We went to Duel Prep School for the past three years. We're ready for the Academy. These kids don't know what they're in for. But they'll learn, the hard way, the Chazz Princeton way." He smirked at that.

"I might not like how he won that duel but man, that last guy really tore it up down there." Aira said.

"Yeah, that's Bastion Misawa." A voice said making the golden blonde girl look over and down to see a short boy with spiked blue hair, grey eyes, and glasses was speaking to them. "It's said that he got the highest written exam score out of all us applicants."

"Wow, I just barely passed..." Aira muttered. Long story short, Aira had to fake fail her written exam it was difficult for her, she only got a 65% and they had to at least get a 60% to pass the exam. Aira barely just made it with 5%. For that she was happy, being put in the lowest and she always did like Slifer the Sky Dragon and Ra.

The boy wearing small clear glasses blushed at Aira. "H-Hello, I'm Syrus Truesdale by the way." He said.

Aira smiled, "I'm Aira Judai Yuki but you can call me Ai. It's nice to meet ya Syrus." She said.

"Same here. Are you going to enter the academy too?"

"Yeah, I am but... I haven't had my match yet because I was late."

"Oh... Really I had my match, I just barely made it myself to pass."

"Oh! Than your in, so congrats man." She said with a cheerful tone.

Syrus and Aira was talking that they saw a teenage with light black hair walking up to the arena to take a seat.

"Hey," he looked up seeing her. "That was some sweet duel there Bastion... Right?" Aira said.

Bastion looked at her and smiled. "Yes and why thank you." He said and she smiled back at him.

Around the same time, at the bottom of the arena sat a bunch of Duel Academy's teachers and staff who were talking about this year's students.

"Looks like we've got a pretty good crowd this year." One of the teachers said.

"Yes indeed." Another teacher agreed.

Within this group of teachers and staff was another one that was just sitting there not talking to anyone but just watching the duels. This teacher was male but looked very much like a female with all the makeup he wore and his blond hair in a ponytail. He was dressed in a teacher blue blazer that had gold shoulder plates and trimmings along with a ruffled pink collar. He was just about to leave but was stopped when the guy from the sign in duty came in to talk to him.

"I'm sorry to interrupt but one last minute applicants have arrived to take their exam, Mr. Crowler." He told the female looking teacher.

"Excuse me? Did you just call me, 'mister'?" Crowler asked with a scowled.

"I'm sorry. I'm new here, Miss...."

"I have a PHD in dueling, thank you, and I earned the title 'doctor'!" Crowler snapped before he looked away. "Now tell the truants that she have to come back next year."

The other teachers and staff looked at him, all of them frowning at his choice.

"Come on, Dr. Crowler, we have time for one more."

"Yes, let's give these duelists a fair shot."

"They were just a little bit late, that's all."

"LATE IS RUDE!" Crowler finally snapped as he slammed his hands down making everyone in the room shut up. "I have no time for slackers!"

Just then, Crowler's phone stared to ring and he pulled it out of his pocket to answer it. "What?!" He asked the person who was on the other line in annoyance.

[It's Sheppard.] The person on the other side said and with that name, Crowler's angry mood turn into a good one.

"Oh, Chancellor Sheppard." Crowler said who was doing an amazing job of not showing any angry in the call.

[I'm just calling to make sure everything is running smoothly, Crowler. We wouldn't want a repeat of what happened last year. When you cut a third of our student applicants for some ridiculous reason, calling you 'Mr.' or Mrs.'? Whatever, just make sure everyone get a fair shot.] Chancellor Sheppard told him which made Crowler bug out for a few seconds.

"Yes of course, sir." Crowler replied as he hanged up and he let out a small snarl. 'Furry-chinned windbag, doesn't he realize that there are enough talentless flunkies at this school? But he's the boss and if he wants to give these slackers a duel then fine.' Crowler thought as he stood up and started walking out of the room. "Pardon me, gentlemen, I'll be right back." He said.

"But sir, who will be the girls' dueling proctors and which exam decks should we use?" Once of the teachers asked holding up a case filled with the testing decks.

Crowler just huffed as he continued to walk away. "Oh leave that to me." He answered with an evil smirk.

"Aira Judai Yuki, please report to Dueling Arena 3! Aira Judai Yuki Dueling Arena 3!" The loudspeaker announced.

"Well, here I go guys. See ya later." Aira said to the two boys as she walked to the arena with her duel disk on her left wrist.

"Well she is a cheerful person, isn't she?" Syrus said in a worry tone.

"Well she is but, will she stay that long." Bastion said and Syrus looked at him with a concern face. "Look at the person she is duelling." Syrus looked at the arena who she is duelling.

Inside the arena 3 was Aira opponent. She was wondering if it is a guy or was it a girl? No, Aira shook her head it's a guy that she was facing, who was on the other side of the arena, was dressed on a standard Obelisk Blue uniform, complete with gold trimmings and ruffled pink collar, and had on a duel vest over it. He also had long blonde hair that was pull back into a ponytail and was waking makeup from what she could tell.

"Aira..." A female voice Duel Spirits appeared next to her soul partner like she always did when Aira dueled. "Out of all the people they could have picked to be your opponent...they picked a cross-dresser?" She shook her head at that.

The Duel Spirit was female but some parts on her body were male. She has sickly-pink skin, large black wings, and heterochromic eyes that were the same as Aira's. One side of her body was distinctly female, with a covered breast and a rounded hip. The other side looked more masculine with a pectoral muscle, no breast, and a harder, less rounded hip. She had black clothing that covered most of her pink skin, blue lips and pointed teeth. She also had a third eyeball in the middle of her forehead that was connected to her blue hair on one side of her head with the other side having white hair. The female fiend was none other than Yubel, the guardian of Queen of Gentle Darkness. She like her other duel spirits were her guardians and protector of her and her powers.

Aira meet Yubel when she was young at the orphanage when Yugi Mutou gave her that card telling her that it belongs to her.

Yubel told her she was the Queen of Gentle Darkness reincarnation self or The Supreme Queen. Since than she used her powers to fuse herself and Yubel spirit as her own together.

Aira looked at her, her eyes changed to Yubel's orange gold and aqua green colour as she said. "I have this guy beat by my second turn or by an O.T.K." She said before her eyes changed back to sky blue, -Also I don't pick my opponents they do.- She turned to look back at her opponent.

"So miss, what's your name?" the male guy asked.

"Umm... Aira, Aira Judai Yuki." She replied with a nervous tone.

"Well 'Aira Judai Yuki', I'm Doctor Vellian Crowler, the Department Chair of Duel Techniques here at Duel Academy." He said.

"Wow, are you sure?" Aira asked in a curious tone. "From the way you look and dress, I thought that you were some kind of cross dressing academy mascot." She said laughing and then face palmed herself thinking 'I hang out with Uncle Joey too much and now I got his jokes in me as well. Good thing that Uncle Seto isn't here or I'll be dead if he hears me talking like this.'

Aira bows her head down saying. "I'm so sorry for what I just said. Spend too much with one of my Uncle and his habit got to me." She put her head up and sees most of the people here that weren't dressed in blue blazers starting to laugh, while Dr. Crowler face turned bright red from angry.

"Why you..." Crowler mumbled under his breath before he said; "Well Miss Yuki, of you have nothing nice to say then let's stop talking then!"

"Let's Duel!" Aira and Crowler said together.

Aira and Crowler both activated there duel disc and each drew 5 cards.

Aira: 4000

Crowler: 4000

"I'll start off. Draw!" Aira drew a card from the deck and looked the ones in her hand.

She nodded. "Alright I'll start off with a face down monster and ended my turn there." She said a she placed a card face down on her duel disc and it appeared on the field.

"Yes very good," Crowler said, "but can that face down monster help you."

"This guy..." Yubel twitched dangerously wanting to kick this guy butt along with Aira duel monster spirits who heard him.

'After all I am using my own personal deck whether then one of those test ones. I'll be calling all of the shots. I'll fail that little blonde insect brat and send him home in no time.' He thought. "Alright. For this for this move I think I'll start nice and easy. I choose to play card Confiscation."

Aira sky-blue eyes widen when she heard that card. "Oh Ra!" She said.

"Ah... I see you know what this card do, it lets me pay 1000 life points for a chance to peck at you hand and toss one of your card in the graveyard." Crowler answered.

Crowler: 4000 - 1000 = 3000

Aira's cards appeared in front of Crowler who was shocked by her cards because he has never seen them before. In Aira hands were Monster Reborn, Moonlight Crystal Wind Phoenix, Negate Attack, Moonlight Crystal Tiger Pup and Double Spell.

Aira smirked along with Yubel, "So Professor, what's wrong aren't you doing to pick a card." She said in a calm voice whiling smirking.

Crowler looked at her, "Huh, yes," he said, 'I've never seen any of these monsters before, what are they? Forget about and I just go a spell card.'"I remember some of these from back when I was a naive rooky, which one should I banish?" He pointed to a card. "Monster Reborn to the graveyard it goes." The card turned around before being destroyed which didn't really shock Aira.

"Next I lay two cards face down on the field and last, but not least o play Heavy Storm. This spell card destroys all every card on the field." He said as a storm started up and destroyed his two faces down. Aira however didn't bother with the storm because she didn't have a spell or trap on the field.

"Now, now," Crowler said as he shook his head. "What's wrong young scholar."

"Nothing," she shook her head, "nothing at all just wondering what's going to happen now." Aira said as she narrowed her eyes on the field that turned black.

"Oh, something is happening," Crowler answered, "not yet and that's about to change."

Two golden snake-like monsters appear onto the field shocking not just the students in the arena area.

"What an elitist snob," A female voice said, "bullying an amateur with his very best cards."

"Ready for the next lesson?" Crowler asked.

"Uh, sure I...," Aira answered, "guess, learning on what that monster appear and do. Then yes."

"What lesson?" Yubel said amused, "Basically Yugi Mutou and Seto Kaiba already taught you all you need."

"Oh, hush. This gir- guy is odd." Aira said back.

"Yes," Crowler "well, I'm quite the excellent teacher. Thank you." Aira yawned quietly. "Now I sacrifice my two Wicked Token and summon Ancient Gear Golem!" He said as a giant machine type golem appeared on his field.

Ancient Gear Golem:
ATK/ 3000 - DEF/ 3000
Level 8

"There it is," the female said in awe, "the legendary rare card."

"Yes," the male said to his friend, "now where about to find out what makes it so legendary."

"Now, now," Crowler said, "I hope you're not too scared of my legendary Ancient Gear Golem."

"No way," Aira said, "I've always wanted to take on a different rare card." She smiled.

"Well to be honest it's true I did always want to see a different rare card."

"I don't really see what's so special about that card."

"Me either."

"Your cards are rarer than his."

"I know right, there one of a kind deck."

Everyone gasps at what she said and where wondering what did she mean by 'take on a different rare card.'

"She's staring down that legendary rare monster like she doesn't have a care in the world," a male voice said in shock, "I guess that youth and inexperience have the benefits after all. Huh, Alexis?"

Come on?" A female voice asked, "Give it a rest Zane? At least the kid's showing some back bone especially a girl I might add. But I'm wondering what she said 'I've always wanted to take on a different rare card' does she mean that she took on different people with rare cards as well?" Alexis asked.

Zane stared at her, "I don't know Alexis, but remember when Dr. Crowler played the spell card called 'Confiscation' to look at the cards in her hand?" She nodded in understanding what he mean, "He was shocked by it and where about to see why soon." He said, as they focused back to the arena.

Crowler laughs, "Golem Atk!" He ordered, "Mechanize Melee!"

Aira smirked as her card got destroyed, but relived a monster that was a giant silver shield with different crystals around its frame. It got destroyed. Everyone awe and thinking what type of card is that.

Moonlight Crystal Shield:
ATK/ 800 - DEF/ 2500
Level 3

"W-WHAT?!! 2500 DEFENSE POINT!! IMPOSSIBLE!!" Everyone yelled.

Aira: 4000 - 500 = 3500

Crowler laughs, "Don't feel bad," he told her ignoring the yell and the monster defense points that just happen, "this is the top duelling school in the country. Some people are simply not cut out for..."

Aira laughs.

Everyone was shocked that she was laughing at him.

"Wow!" Aira smirked, "Now great job teacher you really know your stuff." She said whiling pushing her long ponytail behind her.

'Can't she take a hint?!' Crowler thought, 'She will not be allowed to past this exam and she surely won't be permitted to make a mockery of my deck.'

"Well alright teach my go. Draw!" Aira draw a card and smiled at it, "Okay time to end this, right teach remember when you destroyed my Moonlight Crystal Shield." Crowler nodded.

She continued, "You see my destroying my shield, I can special summon a monster that is Level 7 or higher without making a sacrifice." Everyone gasps at this information and Crowler was shocked as well as Zane, Alexis, Syrus, Bastion and Chazz trying to take in a new monster and information.

"W-WHAT?! IS SHE SERIOUS!!" Everyone yelled.

"Yep!" She smiled brightly. "So I think I'll choose one of my favourite dragons." Aira smiled, "Come and spread your feather wings! Moonlight Wing Dragon!" She called out and a huge dragon with dark blue and white feather and light blue eyes {Black Wing Dragon} appeared on the field and let out almighty roar that caused some people jump out of their seats.

Moonlight Wing Dragon:
ATK/3900 - DEF/3900
Level 9

"3900 ATK AND DEF POINTS!!!" Everyone yelled again.

Yubel rolled her eyes, "Does these people ever get tired of shouting and yelling?"

"Nope."

"W-W-What is that?" Syrus stuttered asking Bastion

"D-Don't know. I've never seen it before but it's powerful." Bastion replied.

"N-N-No way Zane? It's almost equal to Cyber End Dragon combined power and she said it's one of her dragons, she has more of them?" Alexis said in awe of the beautiful dragon on the field.

"Yeah, it is," Zane said, "maybe, because she did say 'one of my favourite dragons' so she must have more. And were about to see what else she can do." He watched as the dragon roared at the opponent.

"N-N-No-way, i-its impossible." Crowler stuttered.

"Yes and its still my turn so I summon my Moonlight Crystal Wind Phoenix in attack mode." Aira said as a huge gust of wind showing beautiful crystal phoenix with light green and blue feather and green eyes appears on the field next to Moonlight Wing Dragon letting out a phoenix cry.

Everyone watched in awe as they see two beautiful monsters.

Moonlight Crystal Wind Phoenix:
ATK/ 1700 - DEF/ 1200
Level 4

"Oh, yeah Moonlight Crystal Wind Phoenix has a special ability." Crowler looked at Aira shock still in them, "It allows me to draw two new cards." She said while drawing two cards from the deck.

She put the cards in her hands, "Now Moonlight Wing Dragon attack Ancient Gear Golem with Moonlight Feather Shoot." She ordered an attack and Moonlight Wing Dragon flapped its wing shooting feathers at Ancient Gear Golem, destroying it in.

Crowler face paled and panicked at the site of his monster destroyed. "N-No-way, he was my very best card." He said.

Crowler: 3000 - 900 = 2100

"And now, I'll let Moonlight Crystal Wind Phoenix attack your life point directly." Aira looked at Moonlight Wing Phoenix, "Wind Phoenix attack his life point directly." She said, Moonlight Phoenix attacked Crowler life points.

Crowler: 2100 - 1700 = 400

"Wait, I'm not done yet, I play a spell from my hand called Light Destruction, you see this card is activated by destroying my own monster, its attack point goes directly to your life points." Aira said, shocking everyone still.

She looked at Moonlight Crystal Wind Phoenix, 'Sorry about this.' She apologizes for this, Wind Phoenix understands and nodded, "Now, I sacrifice my Moonlight Crystal Wind Phoenix. So its attack points goes to you. See ya teach." Aira smiled waving her right hand.

The blast of the Light Destruction card hit Crowler directly.

Crowler: 400 - 1700 = 0

Aira: 3500

"N-N-No! I don't believe it." Crowler said in shock. "There's no way a Slacker could beat me."

"Alright! That's Game!" Aira cheered and her Moonlight Kuriboh popped behind her so no-one can see it.

"Kuri, Kuri." Kuriboh said while cooing quietly to Aira.

"Yes, I have to agree with Kuriboh. Well done Ai." Yubel said.

Aira smiled at Kuriboh and Yubel, "Thanks a lot Kuriboh, Yubel. We're in along with everyone else." She said quietly to him.

So the Duel Academy Aira made it, who is still cheering. Duel Academy students were wondering how strong she really is, maybe this year wouldn't be so boring after all and the new student has rivals for her to challenge. So the adventure begins.
