Nostalgia level: MAX ↑ 

All of the karts blasted off from their start positions along with me. Waluigi was in third place while I was stuck in last place as sixth. The ones in front of me was Boo, Dry Bones, Waluigi, Toad and Koopa.

I tried to get past Boo but whenever I tried to turn he would turn the same way, not letting me pass. We got closer to some glass boxes with questionmarks in them, I managed to hit one and after two seconds three mushrooms popped into existence and were now balancing on my hand. I read about theese mushrooms, you'd have to crush them on the kart or something. I tried crushing one of them onto the side of my kart and as soon as it touched it my kart suddenly got a large boost and made Boo's kart fly off to the side.

Okay, now I wasn't last at least. After a couple of turns I could hear Daisy cheer on me from the small crowd by the finish line as we got closer. 1 lap done, 2 to go.

I tried to get past Dry Bones in front of me, and to my suprise, he let me get past. Was he not interested in winning.

Then I heard something behind me, when I looked I saw a red koopa shell coming right for me. I tried to use both of my mushrooms but the shell was faster than me and hit my kart, making it jump up in the air and do a flip. Dry Bones and Boo passed me again and I drove on to collect another item box. This time I got a Bullet Bill. Thank god for that. I used it and turned into a giant bullet bill that just swept past my opponents until I came in second place with Waluigi in front of me. He looked back and our eyes met. Then he chuckled and took out a piranha plant. It appeared in front of his cart and made him go faster every time it took a bite in the air, Toad tried to get past him but as soon as he closed up on him the plant bit him and stopped Toad in his tracks completely.

Now there was only one lap left!

We drove into the item boxes, this time I got a banana peel. I threw it on the ground behind me and Koopa drove into it immediately. he spun around a couple of times before he could drive again. Waluigi got three green shells that were now spinning around his cart as protection. But soon a noise from the sky could be heard and Daisy shouted ''Blue Shell!''. A spiky blue shell with feathery wings flew towards Waluigi. He then stopped driving and let the others drive past him. What was he doing?!

*BOOM!*

The blue shell hit me and a few other racers and while we tried to get going again Waluigi zoomed past us with a big grin. At least I came in second place. That was a pretty smart move Waluigi did since the blue shell seeks the one in first place. We stopped our karts and Went up to me while looking down at the ground a little.

''Hey, um... I'm sorry for leaving you with that blue shell.'' He apologized.

I smiled. ''Don't worry. It's you who's going to the tournaments, not me. It was a very smart plan of you to do that.''

His face lit up. ''Thanks.'' He shortly said.

He and Shawn lead the bike and the kart back to the garage again. We played a few more matches of tennis and one match of soccer. Waluigi was very well trained, I don't think that he has to worry about losing in the real game.

When it started to get dark, everyone was getting ready to go home. Daisy hugged me one last time and left without saying a word to Waluigi. I helped Shawn tidy up in the garage, Shawn placed bike helmets in a neat row on a shelf and I used my magic to polish the bike and stack some wheels on top of each other. After that I changed into my normal clothes and Shawn said that he would take care of my biker suit until next time I wanted to train. Then we said our goodbyes, I put on my coat again and covered my face while Polari was stuffed under the coat as well. Waluigi seemed bothered by something all the way home. And when we came into his apartment I sat down on one of the kitchen chairs while Polari went to bed.

''Are you bothered by what Daisy said today?'' I asked.

''Wah?'' Waluigi said and turned around to face me while he sat down on the other kitchen chair. ''Why do you care?''

''I just thought that some of the things she said about you were really mean. And you were looking rather bothered by it on the way home.''

Waluigi sighed. ''I'm used to getting yelled at by her. It goes like that everytime we meet.''

''But what about...'' I paused.

''What about'' what?'' He asked.

''The things she said... about you and... Bowser. Was it actually true?''

Waluigi sighed again and covered his eyes with his right hand. Then he looked at me with serious eyes. ''Rosalina, you've got to understand that who I was then isn't the same Waluigi that I am today. I've made many bad desicions in my life and there was many of them that I didn't really care about. But that one... that one was the desicion that I regretted the most. And I still do to this day.''

I listened intrigued. ''Would you mind... telling me?'' I asked carefully. And immediately after I said it his aura started to become stressed just like yesterday. ''It's completely fine if you don't want to.'' I added. ''I just want you to know that you can tell me anything.''

He thought for a moment, then took off his hat and threw it away so it landed on the kitchen sink. ''Do you really want to know?'' He asked me. I nodded in reply and he sighed a third time. ''Alright, princess. I'll tell you. You're probably the only one in the whole mushroom kingdom who doesn't know about it.''
