It was early in the morning, Waluigi handed me a big brown coat so I could cover my face. Polari was stuffed under it too and we carefully went out of our building. Waluigi said that the training grounds weren't so far away so we woudln't have to go far to get there. But it felt like we walked for an eternity. We took every way possible that wasn't crowded and soon I could see a very big area with tennis courts, golf lawns, football fields and even a racing track.

''We're here.'' Waluigi said and dragged me to the entrance. As soon as we were in the area I could take off the coat, Polari was all sweaty when he could come out and complained that I should take a shower. But there's alot more things to worry about.

Waluigi and I went to a long building with many doors. On one of them there was a white circle with a yellow upside down L on it. Exactly like the mark on Waluigi's cap and gloves, this was his garage where he kept all of his training stuff that he couldn't have in his appartment. And in the middle there was a big purple motorcycle.

But we weren't the only ones in there, in the corner there was a shy guy sleeping on a chair. Waluigi growled as he saw him snoring and kicked the chair away so the shy guy fell down on the floor and woke up immediately.

''Oww, Waluigi, why you gotta do that?'' He whined.

''How long have you been here, Shawn?'' Waluigi asked annoyed.

''Since last night, sorry, I guess I fell asleep last night after I was done polishing your ''oh, so precious'' bike.'' Shawn taunted.

''That bike is the reason we're still alive!'' Waluigi said and pointed at it.

''Yeah, yeah, whatever. But I'm sick of-''

Shawn suddenly stopped talking as he saw me standing next to the bike. His mouth dropped and he grabbed Waluigi's arm and pulled him down to his level of height. ''Waluigi, am I just seeing things or is that princess Rosalina?''

Waluigi made Shawn let go of him so he could stand normally. ''It is, she's going to be my training buddy for today.''

Shawn chuckled nervously. ''Then can you explain... HOW STUPID YOU ARE?! THAT'S THE PRINCESS OF THE COSMOS! THE POLICE ARE LOOKING EVERYWHERE FOR HER! YOU'RE IN DEEP TROUBLE!''

''Sheesh, calm down. Theese grounds have no laws, we're fine.'' Waluigi shrugged. ''And Bowser will never figure out that she's at my house. He's too dumb for that.''

Shawn calmed down and looked at us. ''You have a point there.''

Waluigi grabbed my shoulder. ''Now, Rosalina, this is Shawn.''

''Sup'?'' Shawn said and waved his hand at me.

''He's been my training buddy for three years now. He basically lives at this place because of the law thingy.'' Waluigi explained. ''Don't worry about him. He won't tell anybody about you, he's too kind for that.''

''You have my word.'' Shawn said and bowed before me. ''I really hate it now that Bowser's taken control, so I'll do anything to stop this madness.''

I smiled. ''Dear Shawn, you don't have to bow before me. As long as I'm on earth, Peach is the true princess.''

Shawn stood up again and looked at my body up and down. ''Well, if you're gonna' train then you need some training clothes. Wait here!'' He said and ran to a small locker. He threw out some golfballs, a small air-pump and a rubber ducky (for some reason they had that there...), then he carried out a biker suit. It was white in colour and looked completely new. ''Here, you can have this. Waluigi refuses to use it.

''White's not my colour.'' Waluigi added and looked at it with shifty eyes.

''Oh, and you need shoes!'' Shawn said and went back to the locker and threw out even more weird stuff (seroiusly, was there a wormhole in there or something?). Shawn then came back with two white boots. ''Take theese. They're comfortable.''

I went to a nearby toilet and got dressed. When I came out, Waluigi, Shawn and Polari looked at me without saying anything. ''Is something wrong?'' I asked worriedly.

''No, no, Rosalina, you look great!'' Polari said. ''You look like you're ready to kick some butt!''

''Well I'm not going to kick anyone's butt today, Polari. I'm just here to help Waluigi get well trained for the competitions.'' I said and went closer to Waluigi. ''Shall we start?''

Waluigi took his tennis racket and gave one to me while he stared at me with a sly look. ''Ready when you are, princess!''

We went outside again and picked a tennis court next to the kart track. But as we made our way down to it everybody around us looked at us weirdly and whispered to each other. ''Is that HER?'', ''Why's she with HIM? That ugly freak?'', ''She should be careful, he could attack her at any moment.''

Waluigi didn't seem to be bothered by the whispers, even if you could clearly hear them. ''Don't listen to them.'' He said and carfully looked around us. ''They are just full of themselves.''

Waluigi began to serve and threw the ball into the air and then hit it with his racket so it began to fly towards me. I swung my racket towards it and managed to hit it really hard, making it almost hit Waluigi in the face. Luckily, he dodged it just in time.

''I'm sorry! Are you alright?'' I asked.

Waluigi chuckled. ''I'm just fine, you seem to have strong arms.''

Polari floated up to me and began to whisper. ''I think it's your magic, you should maybe turn it off for now...''

''Right...'' I said and blushed. ''Okay, no magic.''

''Get ready for this!'' Waluigi said and served again. He hit the ball and it came speeding towards me. I hit it with my racket and now it was flying in normal speed. We played a couple of runs and then decided to take a pause.

''Wow, you're better than I though.'' Waluigi said as Shawn handed us water bottles.

''You're pretty good as well.'' I answered and drank my water. ''What are we going to train on next?''

Waluigi though for a moment. Then looked at me. ''You up for a kart race?'' He asked.

''Sure.'' I said.

''Hey, can you even drive?!'' Shawn and Polari asked me at the same time.

''I read a book about it yesterday. I think I got the hang of it.'' I said.

Waluigi stood up. ''Come on Shawn, let's go get my bike. And a kart for Rosalina.''

As Shawn and Waluigi walked away I went to the kart track's finish line and looked at the people driving there. It went very fast, I couldn't even see who was driving. Then, when a lakitu waved a chequered flag in front of the line, everybody stopped as soon as they went over it. Now I could at least see who drove the karts and bikes. The one that came in first place was someone that felt strangely familiar to me. And as soon as they turned around I saw who it was.

''Daisy?!'' I exclaimed.

Daisy looked over to me and her mouth turned into a big grin. ''Rosalina?!''

She ran up to me and hugged me tightly. ''Oh, I was so worried ever since I heard what happened to your observatory! Are you okay? What are you doing here?''

''Daisy, I'm fine. I'm here with a very nice man that helped me get away from the police.'' I explained.

''Really who is it?'' Daisy asked curiously.

''Hey, Rosalina! We got you a kart, you ready to race?'' Waluigi's voice said from the entrance to the kart track.

''Oh, he's here. Come with me.'' I said and grabbed Daisy's arm so she could follow me.

When we got closer to Waluigi, his face turned into a little more suprised expression. ''Daisy?'' He asked.

''Waluigi?!'' Daisy said in a disgusted tone.

''You two know each other?'' I asked.

''Know each other?'' Waluigi chuckled. ''Yeah, you can say that.''

''Rosalina, you can't be serious. You're hanging out with this guy?!'' Daisy asked me and stared right into my eyes.

''He's been very helpful.'' I explained. ''What's wrong with that?

''Wrong?! I'll tell you what's wrong with him. He's just a good-for-nothing bad guy who just likes to create mischief.'' 

''Hey, Waluigi's a good guy!'' Shawn suddenly said as he stepped forward. ''I've known him for three years and he's maybe been acting a little mean sometimes but I would never call him a bad guy!''

Daisy looked at Shawn. ''Who's this, Waluigi? Your new ''friend''? Are you going to steal his money as soon as he turns his back against you?''

''What?! No! I would never-''

''Oh, you would! I know how you work, you're a selfish bastard. As soon as money's involved you are the first one to try to take it.''

''Daisy, how can you say that? I think Waluigi's a good guy.'' I said.

''Rosalina, you don't know him at all! How do you think he's not in jail right now? Bowser takes everyone with special powers and puts them behind bars. But he's never even batted an eye towards Waluigi.''

''Umm...'' I said without knowing what to answer.

''It's because he once used to work with him!'' Daisy exclaimed. ''He and Wario used to work together with Bowser and now it payed off, they don't have to go to jail. They can just walk freely on the streets without having to worry about a thing! I would not be suprised if he has already told Bowser where you're hiding.''

''Daisy, that's enough!'' Waluigi yelled, making her shut up. ''If you want to make fun of me, fine! Make fun of me all you want! But there's something I can't handle and that's when you talk about my connection to Bowser! I know what I did before, and I hate it from the bottom of my heart! I'm just here today to train, and I would love to not be bothered by you!''

He and Shawn went to the start of the track with the bike and the kart and waited for me.

''Fine! Suit yourself!'' Daisy said and leaned closer to me. ''Rosalina, just be careful. You can't trust him. If he ever tries to do something to you I want you to go to Sarasaland and look for a Lakitu. They will take you to me.''

''Thank you for the tip, Daisy but... I don't think that Waluigi really is evil. I can feel the vides he's giving off and they're not evil or dangerous ones.''

Daisy shrugged. ''Suit yourself. Just be careful.'' She then walked away.

I went to Shawn and Waluigi who was waiting by the finish line. They had set up several karts and bikes and I hopped into my kart. I took a deep breath and awaited for Lakitu to count down.

The engines started to growl.

''GO!''
