''Mama!'' A Luma cried in the darkness. ''Mama, where are you?''

I couldn't see anything. It was pitch black, I couldn't even see the ground I was standing on. ''Luma, dear! Follow my voice!'' I said.

But instead of an answer I just heard it scream horribly while calling for help. It was so loud that I had to cover my ears. ''Mama! Rosalina!'' It yelled.

I woke up completely covered in sweat. Polari was right in front of me saying my name to wake me up. When he saw that my eyes was open he looked at me worriedly. ''Rosalina, are you okay?''

I looked around. That's right, I was in Waluigi's appartment. ''I'm alright.'' I said. ''I just had a bad dream...''

''Is there something I can do to help you feel better?'' Polari asked.

''Don't worry about me, I'll be fine.'' I said and carefully sat up. The sun was shining through the window, cars and peoplecould be heard from the streets. I looked at Waluigi's bed and noticed that he wasn't there. ''Where's Waluigi?'' I asked.

''He left a while ago. Don't know where he was headed.'' Polari shrugged. ''He made sure to be as quiet as possible to not wake you up.''

I began to walk out of the bedroom and into the kitchen. On the table there was a little paper bag with a note on it saying ''Breakfast for Rosalina''. When I opened it it smelled delicious, a bagel sandwich was lying in the bottom of the bag. I took it out and inspected it. Cheese and ham, simple but good. The cheese had been melted and the bagel itself was a little warm, I bit into it and immediately wanted to take another bite. It was good, a good start for the day.

When I was finished eating I went to the bedroom again and looked out the window. Koopas, Goombas, Dry bones and alot of other new mushroom kingdom residents were roaming the streets. They looked quite friendly from here, but there were some toads walking among them and they looked pretty scared being there. But the window wasn't enough to see everything. I went out of the appartement and up the stairs until I came to a door leading to the rooftop. There, now I could see better. Wow, now I noticed how big the city was. Polari was just staring  at all the big buildings around us.

''What do you mean that you don't got the money?!'' A voice said. It came from the backside of our building and I went to the other side of the rooftop to see who was there.

In the alleyway there was two Dry Bones holding up a Toad against a brick wall. ''I promise! I'll have the money by next week!'' The Toad struggled. ''I have a family to feed!''

''I don't think that's going to be enough!'' The Dry Bones said. ''We need our money NOW!''

The Toad struggled even more to get out of their strong grip. ''No, please! Just one more week!''

I wanted to help him, but how?

Wait, Mario used to jump on his enemies, right? Maybe I could do that too? I stepped up on the ledge of the roof. Polari dragged my arm back. ''What are you doing?!'' He said agrily.

''I'm going to help that Toad!'' I said and jumped down. I managed to land on one of the Dry Bone's skulls and it fell off its torso.

''Hey! Who jumped at me?!'' He said while the other one stared at me in shock. The head of my victim rolled back to its body, his hands grabbed it and put it back on again. ''Sorry lady, we aren't killed that easily. Because we're already dead!''

The two pushed me backwards, almost making me loose my balance. ''Hey, Bones. Isn't she who the police looked for last night?'' He asked the other one, still staring at me. ''I think so, Jerry!'' Bones said.

I jumped on top of Jerry again and the same result was that he just put on his head again like an ordinary helmet. ''Ain't gonna cut it!'' He said and smiled deviously while moving closer to me.

Polari then came floating down. ''Rose! Jump at him again!'' I did as he told me and made his head fall off a third time. Polari grabbed it and flew away with it, then throwing it away as far as possible. ''Now the other one!'' Polari yelled.

I did the same to Bones and Polari threw away his head as well. Now their bodies were just walking around clueless of where they were. The Toad, who had been silent the entire time stared at me with a gaping mouth.

''Are you okay?'' I asked him.

''You... you're... you're the princess! Rosalina of the cosmos!'' He said and smiled. ''Oh, I never thought that I would see you with my own eyes!''

I smiled by his words as he jumped around happily. Then he suddenly stopped. ''Why are you here? And why are you dressed in such normal clothes?''

''As you may already know, the police are looking for me so I'm trying to keep a low profile.'' I said. ''What were you doing with those two Dry Bones?''

''Them?'' He asked as he looked at their two bodies still trying to find their heads. ''Everyone uses Toads as their punching bag. I wanted to protect my family and the Dry Bones promised me that they would protect us if I payed them. But they keep on raising the price everytime I see them.''

''Oh, how horrible.'' I said.

''But now that you're here, everything's going to be alright!'' The Toad cheered.

''What?'' I asked in confusion.

''With your magic abilities we can take down Bowser for good and end this world of chaos.'' He explained, then looked at his watch. ''Oh my god! I'm late! Sorry, I have to go!''

And with that, he was gone like the wind before I even could say a single word. Polari looked at me sadly. ''They have no idea about your magic.''

''But if they don't know about that then they will keep their hopes up.'' I said.

''So you're going to lie?'' Polari asked me with an uneasy voice.

''If Bowser finds out about it then he knows that nothing can stop him. Right now he knows that I'm in his lands and he's afraid of my magic. He knows that I can do anything I please.''

''But sooner or later he's going to find out.'' Polari said.

''Then let's keep him from finding out. As long as he doesn't capture me the secret stays with us.''

Polari nodded and we both went to the appartment again. Three hours went by and Polari and I spent most of the time talking to each other. Then, when Polari looked out the window he started to jump in the air. ''Waluigi's coming back!'' He said.

After a minute I heard the door open and Waluigi stepped inside. I was sitting by the kitchen table reading a book that I found lying on the floor. It was about different sports and kart racing, interesting. ''Welcome home.'' I said and smiled.

''Thanks.'' Waluigi said and sat on a chair on the opposite side of the table while dusting off his shoulders and picking small pieces of something blue out of his hat.

''What have you been doing?'' I asked worriedly.

''Ah, nothing. Just training for the kart races. A blue shell hit me two times.''

''Are you alright?'' I asked.

''Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. It's no biggie. What have you been doing?'' He asked.

''Reading this book. You seem into sport.''

''Well, yeah I am but now that Bowser has taken control it isn't fun anymore.''

''How come?''

''Before it was just all fun and games but now he holds competitions almost every week and you HAVE to participate. And you almost have to train to death in order to stay alive at the tournaments. Some people have died while playing!'' Waluigi explained. ''And Bowser wins anyway no matter what you do because he cheats like a loser.''

''Everything sounds so dangerous.'' I said. ''Why doesn't Bowser get disqualified?''

''Because the judges knows that he'll kill them if they stop him. He can cheat as much as he wants! He brings forbidden items, hurts the other players and even orders his kids to prevent players from beating him!''

I could feel a stressed aura around him getting bigger. ''Waluigi... are you okay?'' I asked him kindly.

He snapped out of his thoughts and looked at me, his aura began to calm down again. ''I'm fine... I'm completely fine.''

''Maybe we could train together?'' I suggested and smiled at him. Maybe if I was with him he would be more calm and focused, I had noticed that he was calmer the closer he was around me.

''Wah?'' He said suprised. ''Train together? Sure, why not. The training grounds doesn't have any laws after all so you can't get caught there.'' He leaned back tiredly on his chair and rubbed his eye. ''But just so you know. I'm a master at tennis.''
