Me and Polari walked for what seemed as an eternity. The city was so big and you couldn't even see anything in front of you because of all the buildings. It was also cold, probably because my clothes were all ripped after the observatory crash. I couldn't go on like this, I needed to find a safe place I could stay at.

But just because my wand was broken doesn't mean that I had lost ALL my powers. I still had magic abilities, they were just more limited now. But I could at least do something useful. I put my hand on my stomach and felt my body becoming warmer, wonderful! But I couldn't go around holding my hand on my stomach forever. And I couldn't use my other hand because I held Polari with that, I needed to embrace him right now to calm down after everything that had happened. It was also to make sure that he wouldn't get lost.

''Hey there, toots.'' A sudden voice said behind me. I turned around almost immediately and saw a tall man dressed in purple lean against a building with his arms crossed. He didn't look at me, actually, his eyes were hidden by a shadow casted by his purple hat, so I wasn't sure. I carefully took a step closer. ''Did you... mean me?'' I asked.

''Who else?'' He asked and let out a small sarcastic chuckle. ''I've never seen you before around here. And what has happened to you? Your clothes are torn, you have a bruise on your forehead. You look like you've been in a fight with piranha plants or something.''

''Uuh, it's a long story. Anyway, can you help me? I'm looking for someone.''

''Sure, toots.'' He answered.

''I'm looking for Mario and his brother, do you happen to know where he is?''

He was quiet for a moment, then looked up and revealed his menacing eyes staring right at me. ''Say that again?'' He said.

Only now I noticed that he had a purple thorny whip hanging on the right side of his waist. I should be careful, even if he wasn't giving off any danger vibes. ''I'm looking for the Mario brothers...?'' I said again, slower.

The man chuckled. ''Oh boy, toots, where have you been for the last three years?''

I became confused. Did he even know who Mario was? ''I... don't follow you.'' I said.

''Mario and his brother has been gone since three years back.'' He explained.

''What?'' I said and looked down at Polari. Polari just shrugged and we both continued to stare at the man. ''What do you mean?'' I asked.

''They're dead.'' He said while his voice trembled a little.

Dead?! How could that be? Oh no, what am I going to do? I was shocked for a moment, then I remembered the princesses, Peach and Daisy. Maybe I could get help from them! ''But do you know where princess Peach and Daisy are then?'' I asked him with a slight tone of hope in my voice.

''Peach is in Bowser's castle in the form of a giant power star, no one has been able to get her out. As for Daisy...'' He paused for a second. ''Well, no one really knows where she's hiding. The only time I see her is at the kart races.''

So that's it? Everyone is just gone? King koopa rules the mushroom kingdom now? Where am I going to get help? I looked at Polari with a worried expression. He comforted me. ''It's going to be alright, princess. We'll never give up.''

The man looked at us questionable. ''Princess?''

But as soon as he said that, sirens could be heard. And a few seconds after, two green hammer bros and three goombas could be seen marching towards us.

''Wah! It's the cops!'' The man said and ran past me. ''Everyone save themselves!''

I was frozen, I didn't know why but my legs refused to move.

''Is that her? One of the goombas asked. ''Yes it is! That Luma chick! Bowser's going to be happy.'' Another goomba said. ''Freeze! This is the police!'' The first hammer bro said. ''I think she's already standing still...'' The other one said. ''Shut up, you ruined my cool entry.'' The first one said. And while they had their short little argue my legs became movable again and I started running. ''Hey!'' They shouted. ''Stop right there!''

Then a hammer hit my leg. Enough to make me fall over. Polari tried to get me to stand up again but my leg hurt like heck. The hammer bros and goombas ran up to me and started dragging me with them. I tried to fight them off but they were suprisingly strong, had my loss of magic made me THIS weak? Normally I should be able to knock something like this off of me in just a second. I looked forward and saw that the tall purple man had stopped in his tracks and was looking back at me. I still didn't give up and tried to get the police to release me, but they showed no sign of wanting to let me go. Polari tried to get them off of me too but one single Luma can't do much.

Then, suddenly, a sound of a whiplash could be heard and was followed by that one of the goombas got knocked backwards. The goomba dissapeared in a puff of smoke and everybody's attention was drawn to the man standing before us with his whip in his right hand and a bob-omb in his left one. He threw the bob-omb at us witch made everybody release me and start running for their lives. The man grabbed my arm and pulled me and Polari away to safety before it exploded. I was shocked at his actions, but also very grateful.

''Thank you.'' I sighed in a relieved tone.

''Yeah, sure, whatever.'' He quickly said. ''You're a princess?! No wonder the cops are after you!''

''What difference does it make if I'm a princess?'' I asked him.

''Uhh, ALOT! Why do you think Daisy is hiding? Since Peach is a star now, Bowser is looking for a new princess. I shouldn't even be helping you, I'm in big trouble!''

''Please sir.'' I said. ''I don't know what is going on. My home got destroyed for no reason by king koopas minions, and now they're hunting me down whether I wanted it or not. I just need a safe place to stay at least for a little while to catch my breath and take in all of what has happened here. Don't you know about any place I can stay at?''

He looked at me, then at Polari and thought for a moment.

''Alright, come with me.'' He then finally said and started walking. I followed him close behind, at least he wasn't giving off any dangerous vibes now either, or else Polari would've advised me not to go with him. ''Thank you, sir.'' I said relieved.

''Just call me Waluigi.'' He said while not looking at me.

''Nice to meet you, Waluigi. I'm Rosalina.''

He didn't answer.

We walked for a while, taking some turns here and there until we came to a very shabby building with most of the windows being boarded up with planks. We entered the building through a backdoor and went up three stairs. Then Waluigi opened a door that lead to a somewhat small appartement. I looked around for a moment, there was a kitchen, pretty well cleaned. A small bathroom and a bedroom with two beds, then a door that was locked.

''Is this your home?'' I asked Waluigi.

''Yeah... you can stay here if you want. I'm mostly out every day so you don't have to be bothered by me.'' He said and scratched the back of his head. I smiled and looked at him. ''That would be wonderful, thank you so much.''

He scanned my body with his eyes and then went to a drawer and started digging among the clothes. ''Those clothes you're wearing won't be keeping you warm. Here.'' He said and threw a purple long-sleeved shirt, a pair of black jeans and two white socks to me. ''You sure I can borrow theese?'' I asked and looked at them.

''I don't really care, I already have enough clothes anyway.''

I went into the bathroom and tried them on, they were a liiiitle to long for me but it wouldn't show that much. As long as they could keep me warm I would be fine. ''Are they to your taste?'' Polari asked. ''Well, purple is a nice colour.'' I said and looked at myself in the bathroom mirror. Waluigi was right before, I had a bruise on my forehead. I put my hand over it and tried to heal it, it dissapeared instantly. Whew, I'm lucky I have some magic left so I can at least heal myself.

After that I went out of the bathroom and Polari advised me that it was maybe time to go to sleep. Waluigi and I went into the bedroom and he pointed at the bed to the right. ''You can sleep there.'' He said.

''Thanks Waluigi. But why do you have two beds?''

''Me and my friend used to live here together. Then he went on to open a casino and left me here.''

''Oh, that wasn't very kind of him.'' I said as I sat down on the bed.

''Nah, I'm actually happy that he moved. That old fart ransacked my food supply everyday and never payed for any of it.''

And by that, all three of us went to bed. Polari was sleeping close to me, but I had a hard time sleeping. I couldn't help but worry about all of my Lumas. Were they okay? Or had someone captured them? I didn't know, I just hoped for everyone to be fine.

And there I hereby end this chapter! What did you think of this one? Much better than the last chapter (probably because I always write the best parts better than the boring ones).

And just for the chitz and giggloos: I did a fast drawing of Waluigi's appartement just because I'm not good at explaining living areas with words. Here they come!

Yeah, the second one was hard to take a photo of (and dropbox is a piece of trash), so it came out a little low resolution.
