Chapter 17: Bowser's castle
I moved onto Bowser's castle. It was fairly easy to find since the sky above it was filled with black clouds and thunder. I wonder how his castles were designed since they're litterally standing on top of LAVA with only a bridge of stone connecting it to the land.
It was so hot there, and the castle was so big. And somewhere in there my Lumas were trapped together with the rest of all the magical people. But guards were roaming everywhere around the entrance, how would I get in? I had to cause a distraction again.
I saw some dead trees nearby, their roots looked pretty rotten and I may be able to use my magic to pull them up.
I swung my wand towards one of them and it came loose almost immediately. I made it hover towards the castle's entrance and threw it towards the guards. They became pretty scared and ducked for cover as the tree slammed into the gate and opened it. I quickly ran past them without anyone noticing me and I came to a long hall with a throne by the end. On the throne sat Wendy Koopa, staring right ahead at the wrecked door and guards. I sneaked past her, trying to be as quiet as possible.
I needed to find the way to the prison cells. But there wasn't any signs here like at the other place. I had to go with instinct. Soon I went past a door that looked very interesting, I carefully opened it up and went inside.
The room I had entered was bright, the walls had landscapes painted on them and everywhere you looked you could only see toys.
''Hello? Is someone there?'' A voice echoed through the room. I carefully followed it and saw Bowser Jr lying on a giant bed with bandages covering his eyes, legs and arms. ''Papa? Is it you?'' He asked.
I didn't answer. ''Whoever you are, can you go get Kamek? My head hurts again.''
What had happened to him? Why did he have bandages all around him? Did... did Mario do that to him?
''Please, go get Kamek.'' He said. ''You know I can't see myself.''
I wanted to help him, but I couldn't. I just had to ignore his will and move out of the room again or Bowser would soon be back.
I went out of the room again and continued down the hallway. I found a door that lead to a spiral staircase, that HAD to lead to the prison!
And I was right. Soon I managed to find a tight hallway with cells on each side. I could see several familiar faces there. Yoshi, Donkey kong, Professor E. Gadd and... Daisy?!
I ran to a cell where a certain princess dressed in an orange dress were sitting. ''Daisy!'' I whispered. She turned around, but didn't notice me. I made myself visible again and her face lit up. ''Rosalina?'' She asked.
''Shh!'' I hushed. ''I'm here to free you all.'' I said. Everybody's attention were drawn to me and they were all very happy to see me. I used my magic to open the cell doors and they all gathered around me. ''(How are you going to get us out of here?)'' Yoshi asked. ''I'll teleport you. But first, do any of you know where my Lumas are held?''
DK shrugged and shook his head. ''I'm afraid not.'' Daisy answered.
''Okay, I'll keep looking. I'll teleport you to the training grounds where it's safe.'' I said. Daisy grabbed my shoulder and looked at me with worried eyes. ''Be careful.'' I nodded and swung my wand gracefully in front of the bunch to make them disappear. I kept going through the prison but couldn't find my Lumas anywhere. I was almost going to give up until I heard a small cry coming from a tight locked door with only a small hole to see through. ''Mama! We're here!''
I opened the door and rushed in. There they were, all in a big jar. The magic seal was strong but with some tricky magic I managed to get it open and release my Lumas. ''Mama, we missed you!'' They all said and hugged me. A tear streamed down my face. ''Are you all alright?'' I asked.
''We're okay.'' They said. ''Good, then let me get you all out of here.'' I replied and pointed my wand to them. ''Hey, what about you?'' They asked.
''I still have a thing to do, I'll come back later. Whatever you do, stay where I teleport you! I'll go get you later.''
And before they could say another word, I teleported them away. But after a few seconds I felt something rumble upstairs. No, could it be...? He wouldn't be back already, right?
I made myself invisible again and rushed upstairs to see for myself. And yes, Bowser was already back. But how? Did it take THAT much time for me to get here? I spyed from behind one of the pillars in the throne room as Bowser stormed in and sat down.
''My lord, how did the game go?'' A Koopa asked.
''Terrible!'' Bowser yelled. ''I can't be weaker than Waluigi, right?''
''Of course not!'' The Koopa answered. ''You're the most strongest in the land!''
''Then how could I lose to a twat like him?!''
Oh, good. Waluigi won! That lifted a big stone off of my chest. Kamek then came flying in on his broomstick and landed in front of Bowser. ''Lord Bowser, the space cannon has lost its power! And all of the wands are gone!'' He alarmed.
''What? How could that be?!''
''We don't know but... maybe it's Rosalina?''
''Pff!'' Bowser said. ''Like she could infiltrate Ludwig's fortress that easily! And Roy and Larry are there too. How can she just waltz in there and take them?''
''We're looking for her right now, don't worry. We'll make sure to find her.''
Bowser sighed. ''How's Junior?''
''He's... gotten worse. His eyesight is completely gone and I'm unable to fix it.'' Kamek explained sadly. ''He's loosing more and more power every day...''
''Are you really giving it your all, Kamek?'' Bowser asked.
''I'm doing everything in my power to cure him but nothing seems to work!''
''Well try harder then!'' Bowser roared.
I didn't have time for this. I needed to find the lava core and... blow the castle up.
''Kamek... don't you ever... miss Mario?''
Huh?
''What do you mean, lord Bowser? You miss Mario?'' Kamek asked confused.
''No, I hate him from the bottom of my heart but... I miss the good old days. When I always kidnapped the princess and Mario came and saved her. At least I had something to do every day, trying new techniques and weapons. Now I'm just bored every day.''
That... I would've never imagined that those words would come out of Bowser's mouth... did he actually miss Mario that much?
''Bowser, you can't be serious! You're ruling the world and now you want everything to go back to normal?!'' Kamek yelled.
''No!'' Bowser yelled back. ''I just want to have some fun again! Can you blame me? The world's a desert now, there's nothing more to do. It's like: when I have everything, I got nothing. Look at me, sitting in the same old castle every single day, hoping that my son will get better one day. It's pathetic!''
Maybe... Maybe I didn't have to blow up Bowser's castle after all! Yes! I got it! I know how to stop Bowser!
I calmly went to the middle of the hallway, took a deep breath and lifted the invisibility spell.
''Hm?'' Bowser said, then he gasped and pointed at me. ''Hey! It's you!'' He yelled. ''Kamek! Get her!''
It took a second for Kamek to react but soon came flying towards me. I made a safety bubble around me and made Kamek bump into it and crash on the floor beside me. Not anyone could enter my bubble unless I wanted them to.
''What are you doing?!'' Bowser yelled to all of the guards. ''Get her!''
The guards tried to penetrate the bubble, but their weapons acted like trying to break a rock with a toothpick. Soon they gave up and I stepped forward to speak with Bowser.
''Bowser, I am here to make a deal with you.'' I calmly said as I stared at him. He laughed. ''And what might that be, princess? You have nothing of interest to me!''
''You forgot that I have the most powerful magic in the whole world. I can make anything possible... even cure your son.''
Bowser's eyes got big.
End of chapter 17! Haha, now you'll have to wait a day or two for the next one! I hope you enjoyed this and don't forget to vote and comment! :3
