Meredith was standing at the nurses station filling out a patients chart for Bailey when she notices an attractive man walk up to the nurse at the desk.

"Hello, I'm looking for Derek Shepherd." He says politely with a charming smile plastered on his face.

"Do you have a meeting with him sir?" The nurse asks while biting on her bottom lip, attempting to be seductive.

Meredith rolls her eyes slightly but side eyes the new comer curiously, wondering if he'd take the bait.

"I'm actually here to surprise him. I'm family." He replies with a neutral expression, not paying any attention at her attempts of flirting but not being rude either.

Not being able to stop her curiosity from running Meredith makes herself known. "Im a friend, sort of, of Dr. Shepherd, I can help you find him."

As if he just noticed her the man turns his head towards the unknown woman to thank her when he's suddenly star struck. She was beautiful, not the type of beautiful that's full of make up and wears heels. She had natural beauty that he hadn't ever seen.

Meredith raises an amused eyebrow at him making him realize he had been staring for too long. Clearing his throat he gives her a one sided soft smile reaching his hand out. " Bellamy Shepherd."

Merediths eyes widen in realization that this was Dereks brother he had told her about. "H-hi, I'm Meredith Grey. You're Dereks brother."

Chuckling quietly, amused at her sudden shyness he nods his head as they shake hands, lingering for a couple seconds longer than a normal hand shake. "Yes, Derek is my brother, fraternal twins."

Staring into one another's eyes they're interrupted by a loud cheery voice. "Bell?" A voice yells.

Turning his head, Bellamy's smile widens as he brings his younger brother by seven minutes into a hug. "Hey Derek."

"What're you doing here? Not that I'm not glad that you're here." Derek sputters with a smile.

"I uh, needed a break from New York." He says scratching the back of his head uncomfortably at the topic.

Giving him a look that says 'we'll talk later' Derek nods his head letting it go for now.

"How long are you staying?" He questions his twin brother curiously, though his eyes hold hope and excitement.

Meredith watches the exchange with interest, her eyes darting between the brothers. Derek never talked about his siblings unless it was about Bellamy. Bellamy was by far his favorite sibling. Bellamy was attractive and gave off a certain aura that made you want to get to know him. And Meredith was definitely interested.

"Actually, I called Richard. I thought I'd work here." Bellamy says slightly nervous of his brothers response.

Dereks eyes almost bulge out as he gapes at his brother. The last time he checked his brother was thinking about trying to fix his marriage and refused Dereks offer to follow him to Seattle. "That's amazing! But their are no department heads open, what're you gonna do?"

"Department heads?" Meredith questions, emphasizing the plural in heads.

Both brothers turn toward her with amused smiles. "You don't know who I am?" Bellamy questions with an opened mouthed smile.

Meredith shakes her head no slowly and confused.

Humming to himself Bellamy murmurs. "Refreshing."
