*Chris' POV*

It was about an hour into the hangout when we decided to move the party to Ellie's pool.

Well, I say decided, it happened when Michael tried to throw Myra in and ended up slipping in himself.

"Hey," Calum's voice was soft as he sat down next to me at the poolside, handing me a glass of sweet tea.

I smiled over at him, taking small sips from the glass as we dangled our feet in the water while the other's splashed around in it.

"So um, how was volunteering?" Calum asked quietly, twiddling his thumbs in his lap.

"Good, the kids kept drawing me things," I chuckled, taking my phone out my pocket to show him the pictures I'd taken of the drawings.

"Chris, can I talk to you inside for a sec?" Myra stood over my shoulder, clothes dripping wet and that classic smirk on her face.

I nodded to her, mumbling a quick bye to Calum before following Myra inside. Once we were safely out of the earshot of everyone at the pool, my shorter cousin turned to me with that never ending devilish smile.

"Just ask him out already," She sighed as though it was the most simple thing in the world as I looked to her in disbelief.

"What do you mean?" I scoffed, trying to hide my feelings for the certain kiwi boy.

"Oh please, C," she scoffed in return, arms resting sassily on her hips.

"I know for a fact that you've had feelings for Cal for months. And he has feelings for you too, so just let it happen! I need to see you happy, with someone who can bring out the best in you," She sighed, reaching her hands to my shoulders and looking deep into my eyes.

"Mkay," I gave in after about a minute of her intense stare. After spending almost everyday of our lives together, we'd created a bond between us, which made staring contests such as this one more intense.

"Now," She spun me around and gently pushed me through the door as she opened and towards Calum. I watched as she then bomb dived back into the pool with her insane giggle, and I shook my head at her before sitting back down next to Calum.

"Cal," I sighed as I rested my head into his shoulder, trying to stall. "Yes no game?" I asked.

The yes no game was a game we made when we were younger, when it was just us and Myra and Michael in the group. One person would ask the other a question that could be answered by 'yes' or 'no' but the twist was that you gave the opposite answer.

"Do you have a crush at the minute?" I asked, raising my head so I could look into his eyes.

"No," he said with a shaky breath, cheeks beginning to tint pink.

"Do you?" He asked back, and I shook my head.

"Do I know them?" I asked.

"No," he said, avoiding my gaze slightly.

"Are they here right now?" He asked, finally looking into my eyes once more.

"No," I said, feeling my own cheeks begin to redden.

"Is it me?" I asked, disbelieving him as he shook his head and the smile on his face began to appear and grow.

"So, can I kiss you then?" He asked and my own smile began to grow as I shook my head at him.

He placed a hand on the side of my face and one to the back of my neck as he pulled me in close, connecting our lips.

I got a warm feeling in the pit of my stomach as our lips moved in sync and there was a chorus of whoops and hollers from our friends in the pool, and I felt water being splashed at us.

I broke apart from Calum with a chuckle kicking water at them as an all out war broke out, and we were all in fits of laughter, having the time of our lives.

This is what I loved. Being with the group of people I loved, creating and sharing memories of a lifetime.
