Ch.1 First Day

"Are you sure about this, Grian?" His baby blue eyes stared up at the school of his dreams. Many students had walked through these halls, unaware of the wonders they would discover and the fame they would bring to it. Clover Prep was one of the best in the world, some of the most intelligent people in the world came from this school, as well as some of the most influential. This school was everything the blonde could ever hope for, so why now of all times did his mother have to try to convince him to just go back home?

Grian rolled his eyes, "Yes mom, I'm positive."

"It's just," his mother trailed off, "it's so far away."

Grian had to admit, it was a long way from home and he did feel a little bad about leaving his mom all alone at home, but it would be worth it. Even if it was far, this school was going to be great for Grian, in ways that he couldn't understand fully yet, but that he could feel deep down.

"Mom, it's a good school, in fact, one of the best. I've been asking to go here forever. Please don't take this all back now," Grian pleaded, "Besides, I'm already registered for the year."

He was even wearing the uniform, dark brown pants with a black belt, a white button-down shirt with a checkered patterned green and brown sweater vest over it and a matching tie. As well as brown dress shoes to tie it all together.

"I know," his mother sighed and pulled him into a hug, her blue eyes that matched his held sadness that Grian chose to ignore.

"Promise me you'll call every day or else I will," she said, finally letting go of him.

"Okay."

"And focus on your studies, no goofing off."

"Okay."

"And no partying."

"Okay. Mom, I have to go," Grian slowly opened the car door.

"Be safe. I love you."

"Love you too."

"Make friends!" His mother spouted out before he shut the door.

Grian loved his mom, he really did, she could just be a little overbearing sometimes. To be honest, he was a little thankful for the added space between them. Even before his parents split up, she was always a bit of a helicopter mom.

A few students were passing him, heading up the stairs and into the school. Grian snapped out of his thoughts when he realized one of the students was staring right at him. It was a boy who was wearing the same uniform as him minus the vest. He was also wearing a purple snap-back atop his dark brown hair. His piercing brown eyes were studying Grian, taking in all of his features. When the boy saw him looking at him, he smirked before disappearing around the corner. Grian unconsciously gulped. He didn't know why but something about that boy made him feel uneasy.

***

He slowly walked through the halls, it was now his free period and he wasn't sure where to go. Grian wandered outside. There was a pathway with a few trees lining it and some benches. Only one other person was out there. It was a boy with blue glasses and, of course, the school uniform. He was reading a book. His brown bangs slight covered his hazel eyes. Grian almost wondered if it the bangs ever bothered him or got in his eyes, concerning Grian's blonde hair did that quite often.

Grain had to admit, the boy was very cute, the glasses were very flattering on him and the look of concentration on his face as he read was captivating. Grian shook his head, it wasn't nice to stare at the boy, plus he clearly wanted to be left in peace to read his book. As Grian walked passed him, the boy looked up and they locked eyes. Grian shifted his gaze to the ground beneath him, but not before a blush crept onto his face. He quickly walked to another bench. As he sat down he could still feel the boy's eyes on him, though he just ignored it, convincing himself that it was just because he was new.

***

He glanced down at his watch as he rushed through the hall. He was going to be late, late on his first day. Perfect, what a great first impression. He swiftly turned the corner and bumped into someone.

"Oops, sorry, I wasn't paying attention," Grian reached out his hand to help the boy up.

The boy smiled and took his hand, "No biggie, it happens."

Once the boy stood up, Grian noticed the bunny ears amongst the boy's caramel hair, as well as his big brown eyes. The boy had very feminine features, Grian almost wouldn't have realized he was a boy if he wasn't wearing the male uniform. Once again, Grian found himself blushing.

"You're a hybrid," Grian said, amazed.

The boy smiled, "Yeah, have you ever met one before?" Grian shook his head.

"Well, glad I could be your first," he winked, "I'm Sam, by the way."

"Grian," he was still awestruck.

Sam laughed, "Well, I have to get to class. See you around, Grian."

Grian watched as Sam walked off down the hall. He didn't know why the boy had left him so stunned, maybe hybrids were just like that? He was also very short, he couldn't have been taller than 5' 1" or something. Grian didn't think he had a thing for shorter guys, then again, he didn't exactly know he had a thing for guys before today. Actually, he hadn't really given his sexuality much thought at all. Straight or not, Grian definitely knew that there was no way Sam could be single either, not looking like that. The fact that his mind was still dwelling on his was starting to get to him. Of course, when the bell rang Grian was instantly snapped out of his thoughts and remembered exactly why he was rushing before.

***

Grian breathed a sigh of relief, his first day was over. On the bright side, he didn't have as much homework as he had originally thought he would. He was gathering his things and quickly realized that he was the only one left in the class, even the teacher had left. Grian was slightly concerned as to why he hadn't noticed them all leave. It was only like two minutes since the bell had rung, it's not like he was taking forever. Maybe someone ordered them to all clearout? Yeah right, like that would happen.

He swung his backpack over his shoulder, heading out the door when he saw a boy leaning up against a locker across from the classroom. The boy had dark raven hair and eyes like pools of milk chocolate that complimented his tanned skin. He wore blue and red wireless headphones atop his head. He wore the uniform, though he was missing the vest along with the tie, his shirt sleeves were also rolled halfway up his upper arm and the first few buttons were undone, showing a bit of his toned chest.

"Hey," the boy gave him a devilish smirk, "the name's Taurtis."

Once again, Grian found himself taken by the boy, why did all the students at this school have to be attractive?

"It's okay, Taurtis. This one didn't seem like much of a talker," Grian turned to find the boy from the school entrance walking up to Taurtis.

"Oh, I'm sure you know all about those types, don't you Dom," Taurtis grinned at him before turning his attention back to Grian, "What grade are you in?"

"12th," Grian's voice sounded slightly squeakier than normal.

"Same," Dom smirked, "What are the chances."

"You just moved to this school, right?" Taurtis asked, taking a step closer to Grian.

"Yeah."

"And you'll be staying in the dormitories, correct?" Dom followed his movements.

Grian unconsciously took a step back, "Yes?"

"Perfect, why don't we show you there?"

Something about Taurtis told Grian not to trust him, "N-no, that won't be necessary."

"But we insist," Dom licked his lips as Grian's back pressed against the wall.

Grian gulped as Taurtis places his hand next to Grian's head and leaned closer to him. Taurtis's eyes trailed over him, Grian resisted the urge to shiver under his gaze. Taurtis had a level of dominance that surrounded, it was enough to make anyone drop to their knees and obey his every will, Grian was amazed he was able to keep on his feet.

Then Taurtis did something Grian wasn't expecting. He leaned back and gave him a sweet smile as he pulled him away from the wall, "Come on, I wasn't kidding when I said we'd show you there."

Grian blinked, trying to register what was happening. Dom and Taurtis pulled him along behind him as they walked around the campus. Grian knew he was blushing and the stares from the other students weren't helping. A few glared at him, though Grian couldn't figure out why for all they knew the two could be dragging him away to beat him up.

The two lead him up the stairs of a cozy building and down a long hallway with doors. Grian assumed that this was the dorms. Through Grian was noticing that the doors were a considerable distance apart, meaning that there was a lot of space inside the dorms. They finally stopped in front of a door, room 715. Dom unlocked the door and let the other two enter before him. Grian noticed that there were two people sitting on the couch in the dorm.

"Oooh, you're finally here," one of the boys jumped up and rushed over to Grian.

Grian raised an eyebrow at the boy, "Sam?"

Sam smiled widely., "You remembered me."

He turned around, "J! Get over here and introduce yourself!"

J groaned as he stood. Grian instantly recognized him as the boy from the bench. J moved his hair out of his face, "Hi, I'm J."

"Grian."

J gave him a bored look, before handing him a key, "Here's the key to the dorm. Your room is the first door on the left."

With that, J returned to the couch and reopened his book. Sam gave him a sympathetic smile, "Sorry, he takes a while to warm up to people."

"No worries," Grian smiled back.

Dom scoffed next to him, "Wow Sam, I thought we agreed to not flirt until he got settled in."

"I'm not flirting, I'm being nice, something you would know nothing about," Sam frowned, sticking his tongue out at Dom.

"Hey you two, behave," Taurtis scolded them.

"Plus, I don't remember agreeing to anything," Sam crossed his arms.

"He admits it. You clearly talked to him before, or else how would he know your name?" Dom pointed out.

"How else do you expect me to get his name?" Grian frowned at that one.

Taurtis laughed nervously, "Guys, don't freak him out yet."

Sam turned his attention back to Grian and smiled, "Excuse us."

He pulled Dom down in the direction of the bedrooms, probably going to argue by the sound of things. Taurtis shook his head, "I'm sorry about these guys, they're usually well behaved."

Grian shrugged, "It's fine. I'll just go get settled in if you don't mind."

Taurtis smiled at him, "Of course, go ahead."

Grian slowly walked to his room, slowly opening the door to find his things already there, just as the administration said it would be. He shut the door and leaned his back against it. Something told him that this year was certainly going to be an interesting one.
