Ch.3 Struggles
"And now, ladies and gentlemen, you have all you need to calculate the mass of the sun," the teacher gave them a wicked grin, "Good luck."
The bell rang and Grian gathered his stuff. Physics. Why did it have to be Physics? Who cared if he knew how to calculate the fucking mass of the fucking sun? Tell him: When would he ever use that? What dipshit was gonna come up to him and be like, Hey, calculate this for me? Ridiculous!
"Hey you," Sam hugged his arm, "What's gotcha frownin'?"
"I hate Physics," Grian grumbled.
Dom rolled his eyes, "Of course you do. So why did you take it?"
"I'm an idiot."
"Well," J adjusted his glasses, "actually, you need to pass Physics to get the Academic Honors for graduation."
"What's that?" Sam wrinkled his nose.
"It's a thing they add to the diploma of nerds," Dom supplied.
"Ahh," Sam nodded.
J ignored them, "Stick through it, Grian. You're almost on to magnetism."
"Is that better?"
J thought about it for a moment, "It's interesting."
Grian groaned, knocking his head against a locker.
"Hey, don't do that," Sam scolded, "It kills brain cells, and you need all of yours."
Grian huffed, "How did you do in Physics, J?"
"I passed."
"He was in Honors Physics in 10th grade," Sam tilted his head, " And I believe you were taking an online course for it as well."
J nodded, "I was also studying Particle Physics."
Grian hit his head against the locker, "I'm doomed!"
"I can help you."
"There's no helping the damned!"
"What's wrong?" Grian glanced up to find Taurtis grinning at them, "I leave you guys alone for a few minutes and you're already falling apart."
"Grian's apparently gonna fail Physics."
Taurtis frowned, "Why?"
"Because," Grian leaned against the lockers, "It's too hard and my brain hurts."
"Which is why we don't knock our heads against lockers."
"You'll be fine, Grian. Only one more semester," J reminded him.
"Can you believe we're graduating in five months," Sam bounced in place, "I'm so excited!"
"Not if I fail Physics."
"Enough Physics," Taurtis draped an arm around him, "Let's talk about graduation."
"It doesn't feel real to me."
Sam frowned, "What do you mean?"
Dom shrugged, "I just don't feel like a Senior, you know? Definitely not an 18-year-old either."
"We're adults," Taurtis smirked.
J rolled his eyes, "Barely."
Grian snorted.
"Don't rain on their parade," Sam leaned his head on J's shoulder, "Let them have their moment."
The sound of the shrill bell interrupted their conversation.
Dom groaned, "I hate math."
Taurtis chuckled, shoving him along, "Come on, Dommy. Let's go."
J shook his head at the two, while Sam threaded their arms together, "See ya later, Grian."
***
"I don't get it," Sam whined.
J sighed, "Just eat it, Sam."
"But what is it."
"Oh. My. God," Dom glared at him from across the counter, where he sat with his hands gripping his hair, "It's a Fuckin' Taquito! How many times do you want us to say that?!"
Sam pouted, "You don't have to be a meanie."
Taurtis patted Dom's shoulder, "What he means is what more you would like to know about the taquitos, Sammy?"
"What are they?"
Dom groaned, his head falling against the counter.
"They're rolled up tacos," Grian offered.
Sam perked up, "Oh, well why didn't you just say that?"
Dom screamed into his hat.
J raised an eyebrow at Sam as he happily munched on his dinner, "Are you purposefully trying to be difficult."
Sam batted his eyes at him, "Whatever do you mean, my dear J? I was just simply making sure you four weren't secretly plotting to poison me."
"One of us is," Dom growled.
Grian shook his head, biting the inside of his cheek to keep from smiling.
"Apologize to Dom."
"WHY?"
"Because you're a little shit."
"Dom, that's not nice."
"Now he has to apologize to me!"
Taurtis chuckled, watching them fondly.
"What are you smiling about?" Dom glared.
"You're such children sometimes."
J scoffed, "Sometimes?"
Sam huffed, getting up from his seat, "Well, I'm done anyway. I'll be in my room."
They watched as Sam stomped off to his room. Taurtis nudged Dom, almost knocking his food out of his hands, "Go sort that out."
Dom groaned, "Why do I have to do that?"
"Because this is between the two of you. You can't use us as mediators."
Dom huffed, pushing his plate away and trudging off to Sam and Taurtis's room.
Grian frowned, "Is there something else going on?"
Taurtis shrugged, "Dom's testy today."
"Sam's also in a mood," J supplied, "It was bound to happen."
Grian nodded, deciding whether to go to sleep early or try to do his homework. They all knew just how Sam and Dom were going to make up. Grian sighed, he guessed he could just blast his music through his headphones while he worked. It was going to be a long night.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey guys, as I am writing this, I'm currently sitting in class with nothing to do. Technically, she told us we can't go on the computer or our phones, but if you don't get caught... I posted a new story. I've been debating whether or not I should release it and then I was like, Go for it. What's the worst that could happen. So we're doing it. It's called "A Thief in the Night..." and it's a Samgladiator fanfic, of course. It will have boyxboy and girlxgirl as well as boyxgirl. It's a murder mystery story of sorts. Anyways, I hope you all have a wonderful day and I'll see you in the next chapter, Bye~!
P.s. I've typed that last line so many times that it auto corrects on my phone.
