Chapter 24

"Where are you taking me?" I mumbled in discomfort as the thought flooded to the front of my brain. My body shot, dead and left to rot in the woods for no one to find...

"Be quiet, will you?" He snapped at me, his voice dripping with bitterness causing me to stop and shut up.

So this is the real Harry. The mystery I've been trying to solve. I never thought it would end up with him being a formal high school gang member who goes off to kidnap the daughter of his boss. I just can't believe this. All I did for Niall resulted in this.

I felt the tension in the car as I began fumbling with my fingers, biting my lip so I wouldn't say anything more but I couldn't help it.

"Hey, um, Harry?" I paused, rethinking if that was even his real name. "Sorry if make you upset but I really need to get home. If Robert finds out I snuck out, I'll be in deep trouble."

All I received from him was a deep chuckle which caused me to furrow my brows in confusion.

"What's so funny?"

"You." He kept glancing at his side mirror, a smirk on his lips as he turned my way for just a second before turning his head back to the road in front of him.

"Me?" I tilted my head. "What about me?"

"You're in a car with someone you just in the group who committed murder yet all you can think of us getting into trouble?" He looked at me now, his full attention sprinted towards me as he waited for the red light to change back to green.

"You don't understand. I can't get into trouble. Besides, you clearly have your reasons why you do what you do and that's fine. I don't care as long as I stay alive and get my brother back."

"You're one confusing chick, you know that?" He laughed as he shuffled in his seat, looking at his side mirror once more.

"Yeah well, I can say the same about you too." I muttered under my breath.

"You do know that your brother is with us now, right?" He asked.

I sighed, knowing it was true but still wishing it wasn't. "Why? Why did you make him?"

"I didn't do anything." He laughed, "He begged to be in it."

"Well probably he was drunk. Come on, you can't seriously let a drunk guy in your murder pack? Can't you let him go?" I begged looking back at him.

He nodded his head. All this man can only do is laugh, laugh at anything and everything I say. "Sorry, but that's not up to me." Be looked at me, "Remember that grumpy guy?"

I nodded my head.

"Yeah, that's Matt." He looked back at the road, driving ahead once more. "He's the leader. Not to mention, he really liked your brother's skills."

"Skills?" I furrowed my eyebrows. "What skills?"

Niall has no skills. He's the laziest human being I ever met. Not to be rude or anything, I know he's my brother and all, but the only skill he has is being quiet and stubborn. Oh.. Wait.

"Wow, and supposedly you two are related?" He talked back in a bite of a smart mouth tone.

I groaned, mad at his way of thinking that he knows Niall better than I do now since he joined their brother-murdering group.

"Are you guys planning on robbing a bank or something that needs people with skills?" I asked.

He shook his head, furrowing his eyebrows towards my question."Look, you know too much already. Such information can--"

He stopped himself before finishing his sentence. This left me wondering about basically everything. I couldn't help it, I was terrified of him. Taking us the only thing right now that's keeping me alive. Maybe starting conversations with him might give him second chances on killing me.

"Can what?" I wondered.

"Nothing." He cleared his throat.

"You're crazy, you know that?" I looked back in front of me.

"First of all.. You don't even know me." He protested.

"I know and saw enough to know you spell trouble." I admitted as I bit my lower lip.

"I'm guessing you heard about me?" He cocked a brow as I turned to face him.

"Yes, and more than I wanted to. Believe me." I referred to what Liam told me. I know it wasn't enough and there's still some blank lines waiting to be answered. But as if right now, I'm guessing he should think I know all of his dirty little secrets.

"And do you believe them?" He pursed his lips, his eyes on the road as he swerved to another lane.

"I-I don't know." I uttered.

"Well just a little hint.." He continued, looking back at me with pink heart shaped lips curved into a smirk. "I'm sure the truth is far more worse."

"Well that's comforting to hear.." I sarcastically replied with worried eyes as I glanced outside.

A low chuckle escaped his lips.

"You have humor, I like that." He turned the car around a corner.

"Yeah well, I'd like to live too so can you please tell me where I'm going because so far I'm not very reassured?" I mumbled.

"Calm down, blue eyes, I'm not going to kill you." He laughed, taking this as a joke.

"You know my name. It'd be nice if you could use it once in a while." I started to get aggravated with him.

He kept on finding my ways as an amusement for him. Oh no, hopefully he doesn't kidnap me so I can talk to him in his loneliness of a life. No, they don't do that anymore. It's weird?

"Fine.. Leah." He exaggerated on the way of saying my name.

I rolled my eyes when I knew he wasn't looking, crossing my arms over my chest to finish what I was going to say. "And how would I be so sure you're not going to kill me or even torture me if I'm in a car with a murder?"

"Are you going to throw that in my face every single time I open my mouth about something?" He paused. "I know what Matt did was stupid but he had a good reason for it."

"Taking a life is never the right thing to do." I disagreed with him.

"It is in this case." He pinned his eyes at the road, breaths starting to come out in slow and heavy puffs.

"Fine. Explain." I demanded.

"Look, Leah, I can't just go around telling people stuff that's going on. That's stays between us and only us!" He pounded the palm of his hand on the steering wheel to try and make a statement.

"Then what should I know?" I asked pestered. Obviously I needed to know something or else I wouldn't be taken hostage to who knows where to talk. One thing's for sure, after what I had just witnessed, these guys aren't leaving me alone. Especially now since Niall's in it.

"I'll explain everything." He continued, "But not here."

"Everything?" I spoke slowly.

He turned to look at me, smiling as he shook his head in disagreement. "Just whatever you need to know. That's it. Don't get too excited with me."

I groaned, resting my head back in the head rest. This was seriously the most boring ride ever. And to think it'll be a little more exciting? A car chase maybe? No. Just plain silence. I thought about something to say, maybe something about him, how did he get in this? But then I thought.. He might get mad.

"Can I at least know who the Vipers are?" I finished asking.

Harry clenched his jaw together while his fingers coiled around the steering wheel, holding it tight. I knew that because his knuckles were shading into a vivid white from the hold he put onto it.

"You know, you're so pleasant to be around with." Sarcasm dripped with every word I spoke. "When someone asks you a question, it's because they'll most likely want an answer."

"Do you think I really care?" He spit, venom in the words he spoke.

I didn't answer. Instead, I sighed, looking forward and not even bothering to open my mouth again. But, from the looks of it, it seemed as if this is exactly what he wanted. For me to shut up.

"Are you going to answer me out just ignore me like an idiot? You were the one that said 'when someone asks you a question, they'll like a response.' "He hissed, recalling the last thing I said.

"What do you want me to say? Everything I ask annoys you!" I spat, growing frustrated with him.

"Ask anything. Just not about us our what you just saw." He turned down another road. "Don't just ignore me."

I didn't answer. To my advantage, he shut up, leaving his eyes in the road before him. I found myself glancing at anything that kept my attention for the time being until soon everything started top get boring and my eyes found the side of his face.

I'm not going to lie, he was a pretty good looking guy. Even from the first time I ever saw him. But the situation here is what he's done. What he's capable of doing to me and others. His jaw was locked tight and it looked hot. I began to observe all his features, only being able to obtain done until he sighed in frustration, snapping his head towards me.

"What? Is there something on my face?"

I shook my head.

All I wanted to do was go home.

Either he was a psychic or I was making it simple for him to knew what I was thinking because what he said next caught me off guard.

"Look, you saw too much. I can't just let you go after what you just witnessed. I'd be an idiot if I do that." He licked his lips, eyes glancing over at me though his head never moved from the road.

"I promise." He added quickly. "I mean it when I said I'm not going to hurt you. I just have to figure out a few things, okay? You'll be home in no time."

Relief had finally washed over me as the words he spoke sunk in but it wasn't good enough to keep me calm. Licking my chapped lips, I took a couple deep breaths.

"Um.. Harry?" I asked and he stood attendant. "Is that even your real name or did you just use it as a disguise or something?"

He laughed, smiling ahead as he shook his head. "No, Harry is my real name."

I couldn't help but laugh along with him.

"You have a cute laugh." He smirked with a nod as I felt my cheeks burn with warmth.

"Thanks?" I didn't know if I should consider this as a bad thing or a good thing.

"You have a nice smile." I blurted out, embarrassment washing over me once I realized what I just said.

"Thanks." He smiled at me, purposely showing his teeth. "You got a cute smile yourself." He grinned.

I took this opportunity to get the truth it him once and for all. "Do you mind telling me where you're taking me?"

"Were going back to my place." He mumbled.

Great. This is officially going to be a great story to tell the grandchildren one day.
