finally a date
**Sodapop's POV**
"Good morning Cyndi." I emphasize the Cyndi just to get a reaction from her. She sometimes lets herself go and laughs and jokes with me but eventually always returns back to cold and bossy.
"I told you only to call my Cynthia." She says monotonously not even looking up from her desk. "Yes but you said your friends call you Cyndi and I now classify myself as your friend." She chuckles at my comment and raises her head so her eyes meet mine. "And how do you figure that Mr. Curtis?" "Very easily." I joke and she laughs. "Go out with me tonight?" she almost spat out her coffee which she had just taken a drink of "Excuse me?" "I asked you to go out with me tonight." I restate. "No way Soda we work together." "Oh come on Cyndi please?.....besides if you don't I will just continue to annoy you." I threaten and she thinks about my proposal for a moment. "Fine...okay but you pick me up at 6:30 and if it goes horribly you are not to bother me again...understand? And you are not to bother me for the rest of the day." I nod in excitement and smile "Deal." She then rolls her eyes and lowly chuckles.
(9.5 hours later)
I walk up and knock on her cabin door...it looked a lot fancier than ours just on the exterior. She immediately answers the doors and boy she looks gorgeous (photo above). "You look gorgeous Cyndi." I can see her blush and she quickly looks down but I saw her "You don't have to be embarrassed." I say softly and put my finger under her chin so our eyes once again meet "Thanks Sodapop...shall we go?" I nod and we start walking towards the lake "Why are we going to the lake?" she ask clearly confused. "it looks beautiful at sunset...according to my brother, he really digs sunsets but anyway I thought we could go watch it before dinner." "That sounds really nice." "You sound surprised." I joke "oh no it's just I have never been on a date with someone like you." I furrow my eyebrows together in confusion. "Like me?" I started to think that maybe our class difference was a problem maybe she wouldn't be able to go for someone as poor as me. "Yeah someone as nice as you." She grins and I stop panicking that I just smile in relief.
"Wow the sunset is beautiful!" "Not as much as you." I reply and she blushes again "Come on let's go." I nod my head in the direction of the picnic I had set up. "Sodapop I am really nervous about what the waiters are going to think about us." "I know that's why we aren't going to the restaurant...I set up a picnic for us." I say as we arrive at the little gazebo by the lake where I had set it up.
"Sodapop this is perfect...much better than some fancy, snobby restaurant." I am so glad to hear her say that I smile the biggest I could.
After eating and talking and finding more out about each other I walk her back to her cabin. "Thanks for coming on the date with me." I say quietly "No thankyou for taking me I had a great time." I lean in and kiss her without thinking she is hesitant for a second but then kisses back resting her hands on my upper arms. We pull away and both smile like idiots "So does that mean a second date?" I ask "Yes." Is all she says and then goes back inside.
