{previously, on directions: it's their last day at disneyworld and they're watching the firework show}
"Wow. This makes the whole drive worth it"
"It would have been a lot nicer if we could have flown here but okay."
"Shut up Ansel. You're ruining the moment. It's more romantic than anything you've ever done for me the last ten months."
"Oh, yeah? How about this?"
"..."
"Ugh, get a room, guys. South, come with me. We need to get away from the lovebirds."
"Hm? Yeah, definitely."
~~~
Bailey and South walked slightly away from Dani and Ansel, who seemed to be more interested in each other than the show they'd driven eight hours for. Bailey's eyes were fixed on the castle. The colours and patterns changed every second, accompanied by loud "Ooooh!"s from all the five-year-olds in the audience. For some reason, South found that extremely funny.
"What? Why are you laughing?" Bailey glanced sideways at him.
"Uh, no reason. Sorry."
"Okay..." Bailey looked back at the display of fireworks.
They stood quietly for a few minutes. "I wish this moment could last forever," said Bailey, her eyes on the castle.
South turned to her and smiled. "I do, too," he said, his eyes on her.
Bailey turned to him, grinning. When she smiled, it wasn't just her mouth, but her whole face that seemed to beam with happiness. "You're cute, Steve."
"Wow, I wish you hadn't just called me Steve."
"Why?"
"Well, I was just building up the courage to kiss you and you completely ruined the moment."
Bailey's eyes betrayed a moment of shock before they quickly relaxed back into her usual confidence.
"Huh. Were you?" She leaned her head towards his, a hint of a smile on her face. South made a noise that somewhat sounded like he was trying to say 'yes'. All the courage he'd built up in the last three minutes seemed to have disappeared. Mentally telling his brain to shut up, he tilted his head towards hers.
This was it, the drumroll. And then-
"SMILE!"
The flash on Dani's camera lit up, momentarily blinding Bailey and South. They sprung apart.
"Um... Dani? I think we interrupted something."
"Oh no. Uh yeah, we should probably go." Dani and Ansel walked away from them and Bailey's murderous glares. Bailey turned to South with an embarrassed smile.
"At least I didn't ruin it by saying Steve as much as those idiots just did."
"Yep, definitely not," South said, turning back to the fireworks.
