Chapter 3: What a mess...
Again, another monster was destroyed. Today was another day, his attempt to use Magnetron to reel in the Blue Ranger and trap him in a video game, led to failure. To have his creations become nothing but rubble made him ponder other ways that he could approach the Power Rangers. They were in the way of his plans and now, there was going to be more.
If Dr. Ray claims they will come after her... Then they will ruin everything. She said they would try to capture me and use me in their petty experiments. I don't think they know... Who they'll be up against. Thoughts roamed as Mesogog sat in his large seat, he was in a different room that had various contraptions to the sides. "Miserable humans... They are foolish to think they can capture me," In his usual raspy voice, he spoke, and kept his head low in thought.
However, when the doors to the room opened, he didn't need to lift his head to see Zeltrax come in. "My lord," His deep words were heard and remained quiet for him to continue. "The Magnetron has failed you, Master," He didn't get to see the man in armor place a fist to his chest, to show respect.
"As have you... Zeltrax," Mesogog's head finally looked up to see him and moved his head closer to intimidate, there was no need to stand up. This action startled him a bit, much to his pleasure, and continued. "Do you have any last words, before I rearrange your DNA for good?" Questioned the dino man.
"Please, my lord. Before you do anything permanent, allow me to present you with this token of my significance. I've captured the Triptoids for your army," Zeltrax explained, and Mesogog saw the said creatures walk into the room behind him.
"I suppose that's a start. Perhaps you're not... Entirely useless, after all," It was pleasing to see there was some sort of progress made, maybe it wasn't involving the Power Rangers, but it did help grow his army.
"Thank you, Master," Just when Zeltrax was about to turn and walk away, an idea occurred.
From his seat he stood, making gradual steps to the one in armor, and stopped at his side. "I want to know what secrets Dr. Amelia Ray... Is hiding. No one is capable of handling my power. She does not intimidate easily and acts as though I will not torture her. If she still refuses, despite your efforts to make her talk... Then I will play with her DNA until she confesses," With a claw raised, he began to ponder the many ways he could torture her for information. "She may be a genius... But she is horrible at hiding. I doubt her true intention is to increase my skin to be tougher than steel. The creature she's creating isn't her main objective, either. If she is as clever as I think she is, then there's more to it," This time, he turned to Zeltrax, and watched him give a salute with his fist. "Find out what you can about her! With force, if you must," After that, he walked out of the room.

There were no chemistry tubes or tables with various objects relating to science, save for the one Amelia stood in front of and messed with countless metal parts. A wide mouthpiece to her dual pistol that sat to the right of her, was picked up and twisted onto the other part as her fingers tightened around the grip.
Blue eyes examined tiny components that were attached to the outside of the large barrel. Two switches that were the size of a thin bobby pin, sat on the sides of it and ran her thumb over one to test out its functionality. A simple click when she flipped it down, made the barrel turn and adjust to a different setting. Again, she flipped it, making it go up, and saw the mouth part turn in the other direction to return to its previous setting.
Good! Now then... After a couple more additives, I'll be able to attach the vial chamber and test to see if the vial I put into it will turn my blood into Plasma! Her bright grin stretched her lips when she pushed her glasses further up her nose.
"Any progress?" The familiar deep voice reached her ears and when she turned to look at him, it was easy to tell that he was interested in her pistol, since he craned his neck around her and crossed his arms.
"Yes! I'm almost done with it!" Excitedly she picked up a half-done pistol and waved it carefully to the side. "All I need to do now-- is add a couple more things to it and I'll be able to attach the Vial Chamber so I can put my blood in it!" Hopping up and down, she twirled back around to the table and grabbed a piece of curved metal she prepared a while ago. "So-- how did the fight go?~ Anything fun happen?!" Amelia was too busy focusing on attaching the metal piece over the top of the barrel of the gun, to see Zeltrax shake his head.
"No. In fact-- we failed. I was hoping you could give me your opinion on what we could've done, to increase our chances to win," There it was, a play at the brain to see if she was paying attention to his trick. To see if she'd catch on or slip up.
"Well! I would tell you... If I saw the fight!" Giggling, the metal piece clicked together on the barrel and her fingers grabbed one more. Oh- ho! I know what he's doing! He's trying to see if I'd lower my guard at all.~ Nope, never, muahaha! He shall never know that I've seen all this before!~ Unintentionally, her internal, dramatic, comedic evil laughter escaped, and unknowingly left Zeltrax hum questionably at her outburst.
"Fair enough," That was all she heard before the redhead heard a sharp metal ring through the air and froze upon a blade to her neck. "You know more than you let on. The way you act around my master, how you seem to know a weakness in one of his drones that you've never seen before, and how you know what could or couldn't hurt us regarding what you said about those soldiers... There's an air of mystery about you and lord Mesogog doesn't like it," His threat and aggression left Amelia as still as a statue.
She knew it. She knew it would eventually come to this and she was prepared for it. Okay-- Amelia! Time to get serious. Taking a deep breath, carefully she used a finger to push the sharp edge of the blade closer to her neck and looked at him. Sharp, piercing eyes bore into his, and not once did she let go of the blade even if it was close to cutting her skin. "You have secrets. Mesogog has secrets. So does Elsa... Who doesn't? All you need to know is that what I'm doing, isn't going to hinder your guys' plans. Trust is hard to come by... I get that. I don't trust as easily either. But I'm certainly not going to stand around and wait for those douchebags to come and kill me. So, there's no point in getting angry over something so meaningless. I'd prefer to prepare as much as I can before they arrive and take care of them straight away, instead of being a sitting duck. I hate being useless, I hate being weak and if I can help it-- I'll do something about it," The hell she went through for a whole year in Solar's lab, made her fear of death pointless. There were countless times she was close to dying and many situations where she had to face certain doom to try and be free.
They stayed like that for a good while and stared for the longest time, but there wasn't a second when her eyes would drift or soften. She stayed firm, and strong, and kept her gaze on his. "Interesting..." He began and lowered his blade, which he sheathed and folded his arms. "I figured you would squeal or cry like a child when I'd threaten you. That just adds more to your mystery," After that, he looked at her pistol and noticed those additives were finished. "Keep this in mind... Lord Mesogog isn't as merciless as you may think," It was as if her answer was satisfying, she watched him leave the room and left her all alone again.
Out came a breath she didn't realize she held, the redhead panted and leaned her weight over the table to compose herself a bit. That was close. After another deep inhale, her tan hands smacked her cheeks and rubbed them to snap herself out of it. One more time, another inhale, and a bright smile formed along with a determination in her lively blue hues. "I'm almost done! I just need to grab some teeny-weeny blood vials and a needle! Oh-- and add the chamber to put them in!" Across the room she sprinted, grabbed a useless piece of metal Mesogog didn't need, and ran back.
She got to work again, despite her task, her stomach continued to protest and her vision spun for a moment. With the back of her hand sweat was wiped and quickly moved about to attach the chamber. The only thing that was left was for her to get the tiny vials, which the redhead grabbed her pistol and sprinted out of the room to find the lab again.
"Okay-- breathe! I think I'm overworking myself, here," Down the hall in her heels, Amelia did her best to run and sped past Mesogog who looked back to watch her. Her curly, long, red locks bounced upon each step and brushed against his face. She didn't know that he rubbed his clawed hand over his mouth to wipe away any possible strands that might have gotten caught in his teeth.
It took her a good minute to find it, but she finally did and ran to a table littered with small tubes similar to what Mesogog used to extract his blood. The moment her hands landed flat on the lab table, she leaned her head over and let her hair fall past her face. "G- Great... Not what I wanted," She could see her wrists and arms shaking, the spinning vision didn't help or the sickly churning in her stomach. "Focus," Whispered words left her lips, wanting to talk to herself to keep from passing out, the lab coat sleeve was rolled up right after.
She wasn't aware of the prehistoric beast a foot or so away, watching her, as she took a needle in a shaky hand and a tiny container to put it in. There it was, black spots started to show, and thickly gulped. When she managed to get the first tube done, she grabbed another one and as soon as she did, her legs gave out. That didn't stop her from standing back up and trying again.
A second one, she was able to make. She used her other hand to pick up a rubbery band and strapped it around her arm this time. Her teeth pulled on the rubber to tighten it and used her free hand to draw more blood, despite the shaky breaths that began to be more noticeable. Again, she made another one, but this time, she felt herself reel backward and her head spun. I guess this is what I get, for not eating for three days. A heavy thud echoed when she landed on her side and passed out.
~~~~
Mesogog stared at her unconscious form for a good bit, he wondered why she looked like she was about to pass out. She almost bumped into him when she ran by him in the hall and overheard her words along the way. On one knee he used his claw to brush a strand from her face and saw her closed eyes, that was until the doors to the room opened.
To the side he saw Elsa walk in, just to pause at the redhead's unconscious form. Her curious hum, the lift of her brow, and the fold of her arms told him that she wasn't expecting that. "My lord. She did say she hasn't eaten and this makes the third day, perhaps her body finally gave up," There wasn't an ounce of care for the crazy lady, he saw her shrug and make her way over.
"Then go find something for her. I have somewhere to be," He wanted answers, he wanted her alive and functional. So when he stood up and glared daggers at the redhead, he couldn't help but notice her tan fingers twitch.
He could feel it, the sudden shift in his body as his hands began to glow. He didn't waste another second to run out of the room and avoid Elsa's eyes.
~~~~
The sweet, delicious, savory smell of beef and bacon flooded Amelia's nose. It was enough to make her gaze flutter open and her vision gradually became clear. However, when she spotted a small plate with fries and a Bacon Cheeseburger in front of her, she squealed. "EEEE! You guys are awesome!" It was on the floor near her head when she sat up on her knees and picked it up.
Her words were loud enough that they reached the halls and reached the two individuals who strode, plus a third that walked along Zeltrax's side.
It took her roughly five to ten minutes to eat it all. The wonderful taste of meat and potato in her mouth sent waves of flavor she missed so much; a delightful moan left her lips. "That was... So good! I have to thank them!" Energy returned to her now that her stomach was satisfied, so she quickly did one more blood extraction and picked the vials up. Into one of her many pockets, they were stuffed inside, and her heels clicked along when she went to look for the other two.
Not too far ahead of them were Zeltax and Elsa, however, her tan fingers pushed her glasses up at the sight of a third. Oh! This must be episode eight! Golden Boy! Her grin broadened and she ran around them to get a better look at the third person, whom she knew who he came from. "Hello! Hi! You look amazing! Why does he look like you, in a way?" She played dumb and blinked at the dark armored male, who seemed rather annoyed by her words.
"He is my Father. Are you my Mother?" The guy in gold questioned with a sign of respect and stepped closer to Zeltrax's side.
"No! She is not!" It was pretty easy to notice Zeltrax's flustered movement and anger when he yelled. Amelia couldn't help but stifle a giggle at his outburst and the creature's question, eventually it turned into a fit of laughter. "My son went out and bought you that meal. So stop laughing and show a bit more appreciation!" With that, Dr. Ray did as told and nodded.
"Sorry! And thank you! I feel much better! Also-- where did Mesogog go? I wanted to show him my Plasma Pistol and try it out!" From her pocket, she pulled out a tiny vial and showed them all, which she grinned at.
"He went... Out," Elsa awkwardly averted her brown eyes when she shifted her feet and gave her partner in crime a glance. They both knew where he went but she refused to say much more.
"Oh! Oh, oh, oh, can I go out please? I need to grab a few things from a convenience store!" Beaming with energy once again, she explained. In the hope of increasing her chances of them approving, her hands clasped together and her lips puckered to give them puppy-dog eyes.
"What do you plan to get?" Suspicion was evident in the tone Zeltrax used, for he took a threatening step closer and clenched his fist.
"I was going to go out and get Mesogog a quick, pick-me-up! An energy drink, or maybe something sweet! You can come with me if you'd like," It seemed almost comedic with how Zeltrax leaned back when she inched closer to his face and blinked her blue eyes.
"Fine! We have other matters to attend. But when we give you the invisiportal-- you best use it, or we will come after you and bring you back by force!" Not even his wrath seemed to phase the redhead, all she did was blankly stare at his raised fist near her face and smile.
"Okay! Thank you!" From one of her pockets, she felt around for her wallet and pulled it out. "Let's see... Hmm. I doubt my money will work in this world. But-- I shall try anyway!" Positive, with a fist-pumping into the air, she ran to the one room her dual pistol was in.
There on the table, she grabbed her gun, pushed one of the vials into the chamber's slot, and put her palm underneath the barrel. With a harsh spin, the bottom of the barrel spun as if it were a wheel and clicked into place. Next, a high-pitched sound went off when she saw blue cybernetic lines flair to life on the side of it. "Hahaaa! It activated!" As swiftly as she could, she whipped around, aimed the pistol at a nearby wall, and pulled the trigger.
There was a burst of energy, large, spherical, and a mixture of blue and violet made a circular scorch mark on the wall. "I'll... Have to explain that later-- yup," Nervous sweat began to build up on her skin at the thought, destruction on someone else's property was always an issue and was wrong. "I blame my impulsiveness," With that, she quickly ran back out of the room and hid the gun in her many pockets.
It took her a while but she managed to secretly use her invention and appeared just outside of Haley's Cyberspace Cafe', where she took a deep breath at the sight. Okay-- remember! Ask for the closest convenience store and... Oh lord, sweet heavenly greatness, fresh air! Full of delight, she exclaimed in her mind. The breath of fresh air in her lungs made her sigh in contentment, she had completely forgotten that she wore her lab coat there and that her pantyhose was torn.
Into the cafe' with the doors closing behind her, she walked in and stopped when she saw a tall blonde man in a business suit. It's Anton Mercer! Wait-- I have a great idea!~ If I play the part right and if he's a gentleman, I should be able to... Trailing off, her lips pulled into a grin and she hurried past the man who conversed with a teen boy with dark hair.
"Hey. What sounds good? We have a lot of drinks and foo-" A woman with wavy red hair turned around and paused when she saw Amelia. Her brows knitted at her disheveled outfit and messy hair, for she looked her up and down with concern.
Dr. Ray leaned against the bar and grinned, with a quick adjustment of her round glasses. "Hi-- hello! Can you tell me where the closest convenience store is, please? I'm new in town and was just mugged by a few people who thought it was funny to pick on a scientist.~" Of course, she lied, she needed an excuse for her unkempt appearance and sleep-deprived eyes.
"A- Are you okay?! U- Um, maybe you should go see a Doctor, you don't look so good! I'm Haley, by the way," Amelia watched the woman turn around and grab a glass.
She was curious as to why she'd care about her current state, then again, she wasn't evil like all of the other pricks in her life. After Haley returned to her, a glass of ice water was placed on the surface and her worried eyes never left the curly redhead.
"Thank you, but don't worry about me!~ And thanks for the water, I needed some really bad.~" Dr. Ray swiftly took the glass and chugged it down. The clink of the ice left an awkward silence as she kept going and going until the water was gone. Then and there, a heavy satisfied sigh left her lips, she wasn't aware of a certain blonde quizzically staring at her. However, the clearing of someone's throat caught her attention, and her head looked to see.
"Excuse me... Miss? You're looking for the closest convenience store?" Mercer asked and moved his hands into his pockets, it was pretty easy to tell that he was examining her appearance since his eyes darted from her tattered pantyhose to her messy hair.
"Yes! I was going to get something for a friend of mine, actually!" The singular cheerful clap of her hands and broad grin proved how much she wanted to keep her positive vibe, which she could tell had unsettled him a bit, and saw him gulp.
"R- Right," There she watched him point a finger toward the exit and continue. "When you leave-- go far right, then take a left around the corner, and you'll find one there," Explained the blonde before he gave the dark-haired boy a confused glance and back to her.
"Thank you! Yes, thank you-- thank you!" Into a sprint, her heels clicked across, and she hurried through the doors of the Cafe'. She paid no mind to the onlookers who stared quizzically at her or the insects that would fly in front of her face. She maneuvered past citizens with an occasional apology to whoever she'd bump against on her way by. Nonetheless, she followed the directions she received and found herself before the doors of a store.
Cornerstone Market was what was labeled at the top. From the sign to the doors, her hands pushed them open, and she strode to see many rows that had a similar layout to a store in her world. Past some registers and into an aisle, the redhead trekked with a grin on her lips. "Okay-- so, if Mesogog is half dinosaur... Then he would want something with a kick. Something strong that will give him a lot of energy.~" As she approached a refrigerator, her eyes scanned over the various canned drinks and bottles.
There was one called Rockstar, Monster, Red Bull, and a couple of new ones. Her brow lifted and a curious hum was directed toward another brand called Jurassic Bite, for it made a small giggle escape. "I should totally show him Jurassic World someday.~" Giggling at the idea, she couldn't help but imagine Mesogog sitting in his metal chair with a portable TV in front of him and the latest movie for Jurassic World flashing its lights in the room.
For Craps and Giggles, she decided on that can in particular and opened the fridge. Not long later she moved to the register with three other cans and placed them on the counter. The beeping from the scans the employee made went ignored, for her hands fished about in her pockets to find her wallet.
"That'll be fifteen dollars and seventy-five cents," An older woman, Amelia looked up to see, she guessed was in her forties and appeared rather bored.
Dr. Ray counted sixteen instead and offered it to her, but the look on the register lady's face told her something was wrong. "I counted it!~" Beaming, she was when she pointed at the money and kept her grin present.
"What do you think I am? Stupid? I can't take this. This looks forged," This time the older woman's face contorted, and the redhead watched her nose crinkle and a scowl form on her lips. The money was quickly slapped onto the counter, which Amelia took, and pouted.
"She probably put fake children's money in her wallet by mistake. Allow me," Another woman, Dr. Ray peeked to the side and blinked when she saw Elsa in her Principle attire.
From the gothic woman's wallet came the needed amount and soon the register lady shrugged, and eventually began to put her items in a bag. It's Elsa! She's disguised right now, so I should put up an act and pretend I don't recognize her! Yeah-- best plan yet! Even though it was plain and simple, it was rather comedic when she pumped a fist in the air. Amelia didn't waste another second when she grabbed the bag and faced Elsa in her disguise. "Thanks! I really appreciate it!" Her hand waved about, turned around, and made her way to the doors.
Her trek past some citizens brought her to an alleyway, just to see the Invisiportal appear above her and yanked her through. Not a squeak or a sound of surprise came from her, only a dumbfounded expression when she saw Zeltrax with his arms folded on the other side.
"Sorry, it took so long! Look!" The moment her bag was lifted, the familiar sound from the portal behind her occurred and made her glance over her shoulder, at the disguised Elsa. The gothic woman was quick to revert to her former self, and Amelia pretended to be shocked and fake a gasp.
"I had to pay for them. Turns out, her world's money doesn't cut it here," Past the redhead, Elsa walked and would have bumped into Zeltrax had she not stepped further aside on her way by.
"Wait! Wait, wait! I wanted to buy you something too! Here!" From her bag, her tan hand pulled out a Monster can, grape flavored and offered it to her.
"Monster... Huh?" There was a glint of amusement when the gothic woman smirked and chuffed at the label.
"Yup. And-- I don't know if Zeltrax can eat or drink buuuuut!~" Another can was pulled out when Elsa accepted her drink and offered him one called Beast Mode.
"I cannot and do not need food or drink. Nor do I need sleep! I'm a cyborg!" Angrily he stomped a foot toward her and clenched a fist, she frowned at that.
"Then... That means Mesogog gets two drinks!~" Happily, along the hall she trekked and ignored the baffled stare from the Cyborg clad in black. Her head and hips swayed eagerly when she hummed a tiny tune of delight and entered the lab in hopes of seeing the said dino man. However, what she saw, wasn't something she expected.
The bag dropped to the floor, her hand whipped out her plasma pistol and aimed it at a horde of soldiers that stood in front of a similar portal she used. He created it. He did it! As I predicted, it took a day and a half-- almost two days! With a side swipe of her thumb, the lower part of the barrel spun and the high-pitched ringing from it told her it was charged, for its blue lines flared to life.
Behind the horde of men clad in black armor and masks that hid the majority of their faces, stood none other than Ace Solar in his white suit and his disgusting grin. The redhead's intense, sharp blue eyes bore into his, as a gulp of spit from her made her throat move. She ignored the approaching steps from Elsa and Zeltrax, including the metallic sounds from their blades when they unsheathed.
"Dr. Amelia Ray! You clever... Rotten piece of amazing science. Look at you! You've even invented something more powerful than the laser SMGs! What is it this time?" Behind him was the same portal, its platinum color made it difficult for her to see him considering how much white he wore. "No answer?" The tilt of his head and frustrated low chuckle proved how annoyed he was becoming.
It was another minute or so until Elsa stepped forward to say something, but Amelia lifted a hand to push her back. "Dr. Ray, he has invaded my Master's lair! You think you can keep me ba-" For once, she was cut off by a rather strict voice instead of one so cheery.
"Stay back," Ray didn't look at her, or the Cyborg gave her a curious glance.
"What's wrong, Ray? Surprised to see me? You thought you could get away from us, that easily?" Questioned the man in white who lifted his hand and gestured with his finger for one of his men to hand him something. Which they did, between his digits, he was given a rolled-up blueprint. "Where's that strange, prehistoric creature? No doubt you fancied his DNA and wanted to examine it. Or, perhaps, to collect samples from other-" He frowned dangerously when Amelia cut him off and spoke.
"I will find a way to destroy that thing, you know? The world doesn't need something like that. It could wipe out everything living on this planet! Maybe not this world's planet, but ours!" Calculative eyes watched infuriated ones several feet away and did her best to push together a plan of escape, or a plan to make them retreat. If I can get them to retreat at least-- it'll buy me some more time! Her thoughts were full of caution and focus.
She wasn't aware of a certain Dino man walking up behind her and staring at the man in white. "Dr. Ray, how many times must I tell you? You're the brightest among us all! I appreciate your help finalizing the device! You're the distant descendant of Einstein himself, he would be so happy to see you now! Going across worlds?! This is the best invention you've made yet! Imagine... All the resources we could collect and use! The device you helped us create, could benefit from this world-jumping piece of tech you created!" His deceitful smile and lifted hands, fell when he heard her pistol click.
The barrel shifted to a different setting when her thumb flipped a switch on its side. Not once did her dangerous glare soften, she knew what she had to do. I need a distraction... Something to push them back and retreat! This may end up being a blood bath though. Her once energetic vibe was replaced with seriousness and her eyes glanced about to look for anything she could use. I'll probably have to use it. Again, she noted and stepped back an inch to feel Mesogog's chest. Oh, good, he's back! Now's my chance! Just barely her head turned and kept her eyes glued to the horde. "Mesogog," Whispered words came from her, she didn't have to look to know he had her attention and felt him lean over a tad. "Your dinosaur hide can handle their regular shots. Can you shield me, please?" Again, she whispered, felt him stand up straighter and growl.
"Boys-- both of our targets are here now. Capture the prehistoric one and make sure you grab Dr. Ray as well! Don't leave any witnesses!" Solar snapped his fingers and as if on cue, Amelia ran behind Mesogog who outstretched his arms.
Regular rapid bullets flew as the redhead pulled out her Chemic Bomb. "Both of you, stay back!" Just when she saw Elsa and Zeltrax about to charge, they ducked, when she tossed the bomb over their heads and covered her ears. Tight against the dino man's back she hid, thankfully she saw him use his forearms to shield himself from the massive explosion that erupted.
Cries of pain filled the room and fire covered the portion where the bomb was. When the screams died, her blue hues peeked around the beast to see multiple bodies strewed about in a bloodied mess, and Solar held his leg. "You piece of sh-" There, she and the others saw a hand yank him back through the portal and watched it disappear in a platinum flash.
Now that everything was silent, Mesogog turned sideways to look at her and the other two who gawked at the gory mess. "It worked! Woohoo! My idea worked! He retreated! Now, this will give me more time to work with!" Clapping happily and racing to one of the corpses, she kneeled to pick up one of their guns.
"You have some explaining to do... Dr. Ray," Came the dino man's raspy voice, she looked and saw that he was a bit too close for comfort and stood back up with the SMG in her hand. The growl behind his words and the hiss of displeasure told her he wasn't happy.
