"Happy birthday, Areum!" I hear the voices of my parents cheer as I slowly wake up.

I groan and sit up in my bed.

"Happy birthday, sis." Dino says and sits on the edge of my bed.

"You too." I smile sleepily.

It's been a few weeks since Joshua and I encountered, and I haven't spoken to him since. School has been okay surprisingly after Seungkwan helped me. Everything is okay at the moment, I just miss Joshua like usual.

"Here's your present." My dad smiles and places a small box beside me.

I smile and pick it up, carefully tearing at the paper until a shiny black box is revealed. I lift up the lid and inside, there's a sparkling necklace and I gasp. It's so beautiful.

"Thank you so much." I say to my mum and dad and kiss them both on the cheek.

"I got you something too, Ar." Dino tells me and hands me a relatively large gift bag.

I reach inside and pull out a shirt with Seventeen's logo printed onto it. I laugh lightly and thank him.

I reach underneath my bed and pull out the present I prepared for Dino.

"Thanks, sis." He says, pulling out the shirt he had complimented when we were shopping one time.

"We're going out for a meal to celebrate. Be ready in an hour." My mum smiles and I nod.

"Okay."

I check my phone and reply to the birthday messages I've received. I have a message from all of the boys beside Joshua. Oh. I ignore the feeling of sadness and turn off my phone, climbing out of my bed and finding an outfit for the meal.

I decide to wear a knee length red dress and a black jacket. I curl my hair and add makeup, making sure I look presentable and posh enough for a potentially expensive restaurant.

"Dino," I call softly, knocking on the door of his bedroom which I open when he shouts 'come in!'. "Did Joshua text you this morning?"

He nods yes. "Why?"

My heart sinks but my smile doesn't falter.

"No reason." I say and leave his room, shutting the door behind me before he has the opportunity to question me further.

"Are you two ready?" Our dad calls from downstairs.

"Yeah!" I shout and jog down the steps.

"Areum, you look lovely." My mum smiles and I thank her.

"Here." Dino grins when he joins us.

"We need to take a photo of the birthday twins!" My mum squeals and reaches for her camera, causing Dino and I to jokingly roll our eyes.

"Smile!" Dad grins and we both oblige.

"Lovely." Mum smiles and shows us the photo.

I nod approvingly. "It's not bad."

"Come on, we don't want to be late for our reservation." Dad says and we follow him to the car.

After around ten minutes of driving, we arrive outside of an unfamiliar restaurant. Mum and dad grin as we follow them into the building.

It's dark inside and I frown, looking up at Dino. Where on earth are we?

Suddenly, the lights turn on and people, who seem to emerge from nowhere, begin to cheer. I see all the boys and Dino's friends and our family, all crowded with balloons and a big sign reading "Happy 17th birthday to Areum and Dino!"

"Surprise!" They all yell in unison and I smile widely in shock.

"Happy birthday, Ar." Seungkwan smiles as he approaches me, a present in his hands.

"Thank you." I grin and hug him.

"Open it." He says, handing me the present and motioning towards it.

I nod and reach inside the gift bag, pulling out a beautiful pair of earrings. I gasp, immediately knowing that they must be expensive.

"Thank you so much." I smile, covering my mouth with my hand before hugging him again.

"No problem. I hope you enjoy your party." He wishes before walking towards Dino.

I look up from the gift bag and immediately see a face which I've missed so much. Joshua.

"Happy birthday." He smiles softly and my heart races at the sound of his voice.

Memories of our kiss flood back and I stare at him for a few moments, before snapping back to my senses and smiling appreciatively.

"Thanks, Joshua."

"I got you a little something." He says and hands me an envelope.

I open it and pull out its contents, immediately gasping and widening my eyes at the sight.

"You did not..." I mumble in disbelief, staring at his gift with tears brimming in my eyes.

"I did." He grins.

He bought me tickets to see Big Bang in concert next month. My all time favourite band. Ever.

"Thank you so much!" I squeal and hug him tightly.

He wraps his arms around me and hugs me tighter, and I smile at the feeling I missed so much.

"Anything for you, star." He whispers before pulling away and walking towards Dino.

I smile to myself, standing in the centre of the room before the remaining boys rush towards me.

Even after all of the lovely wishes and presents I receive, I can still only think about Joshua. He called me star again.

After greeting everybody who turned up, I sit down beside Wonwoo and Seungkwan.

"How's your birthday been so far then, Areum?" Wonwoo asks.

"Perfect." I grin, looking at Joshua from the corner of my eye.

"Seungkwan has something to tell you all." Woozi interrupts and Seungkwan hits his arm.

"No I don't." He mumbles shyly and Woozi laughs.

"Seungkwan has a girlfriend!"

I smile widely, feeling so happy for my best friend. The boys whistle and send questions in his direction.

"Okay, you can all stop it now." He says uncomfortably as the boys tease him.

"Aw, he's shy." Jun laughs.

After the teasing calms, Dino stands and everybody quietens. "I'd like to make a speech!" He announces and I cover my face in embarrassment.

"Oh no..." I mumble.

"Areum, please stand up here too." He grins and helps me stand on the chair beside him, the sight of everybody becoming visible.

"Take a picture of them..." I hear my mum whisper rather indiscreetly to my dad and I chuckle, shaking my head.

"Today marks the day my sister and I were born! I was born first, so technically I'm older for all of you who didn't know. Anyway, I'd like to thank you all for coming tonight and arranging this without us finding out, I don't know how you guys did it.

But most importantly of all, I'd like to wish my twin sister a huge happy birthday. She deserves it after the year she's had so far. She's been through so much, I only wish that I could be as strong as she is."

I smile at him, feeling tears growing in my eyes.

Everybody begins to sing happy birthday and my dad carries a huge cake towards us after we sit back down. When the song is finished, we're told to make a wish and we both oblige.

At the same time as Dino, I lean forward and blow out the candles, my wish clear in my head.

I wish to feel this happy forever.

i saw one direction in concert last night too, they were incredible! it was my third time seeing them live ahah.

but omg this book got on the ranking for the fanfiction category!!! that makes me so happy, even if it's #559, that's still so good!
