Assignment #1

Reading about Boggarts greatly fascinated Richard since he was interested in all the different sorts of creatures within the wizarding world. He found it bizarre how there were creatures, like Boggarts, that were not alive but could still act like it and shapeshift. He wanted to know what they looked like in their natural form but he knew that wouldn't be possible. He took a moment to think about what his biggest fear was, since he didn't really think he had any at all. He was overall pretty fearless and not scared by too much, especially typical things like the dark or spiders. He tapped his chin with his fingers as he thought about it for a moment, truly thinking he didn't have any fears. But after a few moments the idea of death popped into his head and he shivered at that thought. He hated thinking about death and how one day he'll die and he won't know where he'll go afterwards because he doesn't know what happens after death. It may seem like a stupid fear but he was terribly afraid of death. He shook his head to get rid of that thought as he kept writing his summary. His handwriting wasn't the best at all but at least it was eligible. He was rushing a bit since he had procrastinated but that was just what he did, he tends to procrastinate a lot. He worked quickly on it, not putting too much work into it but still giving it some effort. Once he was done he set down his quill and let out a sigh, "finally." He wasn't sure what type of grade he would get on it but he didn't care too much, all that mattered to him was that he had got it completed.

It was only a week since school started and Richard was already loving it and hating it at the same time. He loved the school to pieces since it was magnificent but he knew he wouldn't handle the work load well and would probably procrastinate a lot. This was his first assignment and he had already procrastinated on this one. It wasn't that he hated school work or anything of the sort, it was just that he always had trouble concentrating on work and actually getting stuff done. Usually his bad focus only really affected him with tests but depending on how tired he was too it affected him on simple assignments like writing summaries. But he was still just as excited as he had been when he had first entered the school. The work they were already getting didn't make him like the place any less and was still so grateful to have been accepted into such a school and to even be a wizard. It was so hard to believe and still a lot to take in but he thought he was getting settled pretty well. He did admit that he missed home a lot but Hogwarts did in a way, feel like a second home.
