TARDIS

"TARDIS. Time and relative demention in space. What does it actually mean Doctor?" Rory said running his hand lightly along the control panel. The Doctor was running, spinning around the connsole, spinning and turning, faster and faster, click any and every button.

"Ah ha!" Cried the Doctor lightly tapping the glass on the floor. "Where's my 'WHOSH!'?"

"I'm sorry, what?" Rory pulled his hands away from the panel, pulling himself from his daise.

"My 'WHOSH'. You know the nose it makes when we move." The Doctor ran his hand through his abmormaly long hair.

"River said that it wasn't meant to make that sound."

"Rule number 1: River lies." The Doctor said striding over to the TARDIS doors.

Rory threw his hands into the air. "I thought rule one was, don't wander off." He lightly trotted down the stairs and grabbed his jacket. "Amy!" He called. "He's at it again."

"What?" The Doctor said turning to face the last centurion.

"He's doing the thing were he confuses me." Rory called turning his head away from the Doctor and towards where, hopefully, his wife would soon be appeering.

"Yes, yes. Come along Pond. Much to see, more to do." The Doctor called not taking his eyes off Rory. He was almost scanning him.

"Amy!" Rory called, more allamed this time. He span quickly running down the steps where he, quite litteraly ran in to Amy.

"What is it Rory?" Amy snapped rather sharply, avoiding eye comtact. Rory lightly touched her arms and put his forehead close to hers.

"Amy, what's wrong." Rory whispered to her soothingly. The Doctor turned away. He loved his two best friends but seeing them like this, it made him feel awkward, like he didn't belong. He didn't feel jeliouse but more left out. He looked at the control screen, seeking a peek at there hushed convosation. He wished he hasn't. Rory chose that point to whisper in Amy's ear the words the Doctor could only guess 'I love you' Rory started to lean in towards Amy but before any one could try any thing the Doctor looked back to the screen and noticed something strange and out of the ordinary.

"Ponds!" He called loudly. They didn't respond. He looked over to them. They were still content doing what looked like... Well eating each others faces off.

"Look a lazor gun firing at me. If only I had two loayal and faithfully friends to save me. Agh look I'm dying." The Doctor said trying to get their attention. He galloped down the steps stopping only to grab a roage ood tentical that hadn't been cleaned up since the friendly odd had insted the Doctor was his new owner. Now that was a story.

"Attack of the squid!" He called wobberling the ood tentical in between thier faces. The Doctor was ignored by Rory but Amy opened one eye to make sure her aim was right as she slapped the Doctor over the head.

"Right, well I'll... Erm... Just." He pointed backwards towards the control panel. "Call me when your done." It's times like these when the Doctor really, really missed River. She always made him feel better. Also this never seemed to happen to River. Something about them being her parents. Or something.

"Oh stop it." Amy called detaching her face from Rory's. Rory looked flustered, blinking several times as if trying to keep his head straight. Amy tryed to act as if it was nothing. But it was. She loved Rory so much, sometimes it hurt. Everything they had been through, he had seen the worst in her, but still he stayed.

"What?" The Doctor said.

"You. Sulking. Don't do it." She gave him her best mother-like smile and lent agenst the control pannel. The Doctor was like a little kid. That was well enough as she couldn't have kids of her own, looking after the Doctor would have to do. "So, were are we?"

"I don't kn-" A flash appeared by the door sparks flew all over the place straterling the crew if the TARDIS. the Doctor flew into a ninja stance, his arms flung in frount of him to protect him from what ever was to come.

"Strange." The voice said from the smoke. Rory started snickering.

"What?" The Doctor said still ready to beat up anything that moved from the smoke.

"Your faces. You look like you've seen a ghost!" Rory giggled. The figure walked out from the smoke in a short dress that finished just above the knees. Wowsa! The Doctor thought looking at her body.

"My eyes are up here, sweety." The voice said mockingly. He knew who it was as Amy ran down the steps to embrace her daughter.

"River! I wasn't expecting you!" The Doctor said as Melody Pond greated her parents.

"Weren't expecting me! Did you forget? Who am I kidding, of course you forgot."

"Of course I didn't. I'm a Time Lord. That's how the saying goes. Time Lords never forget. Or is it elephants, I can never remember." He said ramnerling on trying to hope people didn't notice that he had no idea what River was talking about.

"Doctor, what is the date?"

"Tuesday. No, wait, Wednesday. Or possibly Sataday. Oh I love Satadays. Did I ever tell you the story of how I named Satadays."

"Sunday, Doctor." River corrected walking straight up to her husband, so close that the Doctor could smell the strawberry shampoo she used sometimes, on special occasions like...

"Date night." He said. Putting his hands over his face.

"Yes Doctor our special night." She said before leaning in and whispering in his ear. "So what are my parents doing here? This isn't a spectators sport." She said so close to his ear that he felt shivers go down his spine. He loved that electric feeling going down his spine, but it did annoy him so. The only thing he couldn't explain in the entire universe. The way he felt when River Song was in the room.

"Unless, you want to admit you forgot." The Doctor avoided eye contact. "Knew it. I thought it was strange when you didn't turn up. That's why you I used my vortex manipulator to transport to the TARDIS, but... Never mind." She stopped whispering in the Doctors ear and turned her back on him. She was well and truely annoyed.

"River, come on I'm a time traveler! How am I ment to know when it's Sunday relitive to your time line?"

"Well, mum, dad, how are you two doing? Long time no see, huh." River said ignoring the Doctor. Why couldn't she just slap him and have it over with? That would be better.

The Doctor swallowed his pride and took a deep breath.

(Anyone *put had up for high five* No. Okay.)

"I- I'm sorry. There I said it." He exclaimed quickly. He was acting like a kid who disserved a biscute.

River turned quickly and slapped him. While his face contorted into a face of agony inside he smiled. The River sign of forgiveness.

Amy coughed. "This is all well and good but you, Doctor, promised us Manhatten. Were is it?" She said storming quickly up the stairs towards him.

Before she could get any closer he said "Right out those doors. We landed before you graded us with your presence, Amelia." He said bowing jokingly to her.

She seemed happy with the answer as she bownded down the stairs and towards her room in the TARDIS, seemingly to grab a jacket. Good. The Doctor didn't want two Ponds mad at him.

He and River made there way down to the doors as Amy swiveled round the corner and joined them intertwining her fingers with Rory's.

The Doctor pushed past the Ponds to the doors that he put his hands on to push open saying "I give you, Manhattan!" The doors swung open.

"Doctor, that isn't Manhatten." Amy said wrinkerling her noise at the dark English sky.

Rory stepped outside into the esstate they had landed in with a small park, as he squinted at the sky. "Looks like its going to rain." He said. A sudden screch was heard in he distance, followed by a bellowing raw and then a massive figure looming over the estate. "Is that a dinosaur?"
