Homecoming
"...Mia..."
A small petite brunette girl turned around to the sound of the voice calling out her name in a soft whisper. She seemed to be on the roof of a building surrounded by nothing but a low fog and dark skies. No one was around for as far as her eyes could see, which wasn't much.
"...Mia..."
That's when she saw it. At the edge of the building stood her younger brother. His hair was the same as it always was, short and curly but his eyes shown nothing but black. Mia only saw her reflection in his dark eyes which gave her goosebumps. As she stepped forward towards him, he stepped back.
Falling over the edge in a silent scream.

"Mia!"
The brunette sat up abruptly to see Ms. Perry sitting on her teachers desk, legs crossed, eyebrow raised, and the projector remote in hand. Also known as 'The Look'.
'The Look' is Ms. Perry's way of saying "I-Hate-You', 'Listen to me!' And 'Stay-Away-From-My-Man!'. But the look she was giving Mia now is only reserved for her and her brother Leo. It's the 'Your-A-Davenport' look.
You see, their adoptive father dated Ms. Perry (when she was once youthful looking and not so manly) for about a year in high school. Voted "Most likely to get married" couple back in their junior year until Tasha (aka their adoptive mother) came along. They met during the homecoming football game during senior year. They fell in love after our father found out that Ms. Perry cheated on him with his brother Douglas.
Their father, Donald, had forgiven her because he's a 'forgiving person' but she hasn't. Mia doesn't see why she should forgive him in the first place if he did nothing wrong but Mia's to scared to ask her. Since she hasn't forgiven Donald, she's hating on the two since their father isn't around enough to receive the glare.
Her brother Leo is more use to the glare than she is. To be fair he had more experience in dealing with Ms. Perry's hatred for our family than Mia has. He does have more classes with her giving him more practice while Mia only has one.
So when she gave her the 'Your-A-Davenport' glare Mia was a bit nervous to what she had to say.
"Were you listening?"
Shaking her head, Mia sank down into her seat as Ms. Perry hit her control against her hand and walked over to Mia's desk. When Ms. Perry arrived, she leaned in towards Mia so that they were face to face but she stopped abruptly.
Plastering on a fake smile, she asked the petite brunette, "Well, Ms. Davenport, since you weren't listening I would like you to answer-"
That was when Mia's prayers were answered.
"Hello students. I'm sorry to interrupt class time but due to a recent outbreak of the measles, school is canceled for the rest of the day. Parents have been called for pick up outside. Thank you and have a nice day."
With that, the whole student body was seen running out of school happily. Once the halls were decent enough to walk through, Mia had made her a run for it towards the teachers parking lot.
Leo was already waiting there for her, glancing down at his phone every so often. When she had arrived, Leo groaned, "I thought you were Big D."
"Yeah because Big D totally has brown hair, boobs, and wears skinny jeans." She paused for a moment, "I can see how you would confuse us."
That was when Mission Creek high's beloved principal came running out of the building in a rush.
"Woah, what happened to you?" Leo asked when they saw the animalistic tear in his suit.
Mr. Davenport answered, "Teens these days are becoming way to barbaric nowadays. You kids alright?"
"We're fine Dad. Thanks for asking." Mia told him as he unlocked the car for them.
Leo glanced down at his phone before entering, "You were 7 minutes and 18 second late dad. Pick up the pace next time."
