13 - Memories Pt. 2

Nine year old Aphmau smiled as she sent out her Houndoom to Satiel's Stantler.

"I'm gonna win this time! I know it!" Aphmau called over to Satiel, smirking as if she knew she was going to win her fifth battle in a row.

"You can try!" Satiel called back.

"I don't need to! I'm so good I don't even need to try!"

"Okay, okay. We get it, you two are being cocky," Castor said, his Charmeleon standing by his feet. "But we all know who's the real best." A smirk plastered on his face, he struck a cocky pose.

---

"Sly! Come back here right now!" Aphmau yelled. Castor and Kala were laughing in the background.

Sly was flying away, gripping a book tightly in his right hand.

"No! Not until you stop writing fanfictions of me and PBat dating!" He screamed, smiling a little at the end.

"I WILL ALWAYS WRITE WHATEVER FANFICS I WANT BECAUSE IT'S MAH BOOK AND I CAN DO WHAT I WANT!"

In the end, Aphmau ended up bopping him and dazing him, able to grab the book of fanfics back and run away and find a hiding place, where she wrote yet another fanfic. Not of Sly and PBat, but of Castor and Kala...

"JESSICA APHMAU ODINSON GET YOUR BUTT OVER HERE!!" Castor yelled angrily.

The fourteen year old snickered, lighting up her book with the light from her glowing hammer.

---

Lightning and thunder was striking, a grey sky with rain falling on the fires which spread over the grand kingdom.

"U-Uncle?" Aphmau whispered, her voice quivering as she looked over her kingdom, Asgard. Blood was everywhere, dead bodies laying in pools of blood mixed with the falling rain. Screams were heard throughout Asgard as more people were injured or murdered.

Just looking over the rainbow bridge reminded Aphmau of the War of the Divine...of her sister...her mother, her brothers...everyone. For a second the remains of Asgard flickered in her mind, showing the remains of the Irene City, before it flickered back to reality.

She bit her quivering lip, knowing that everywhere she went destruction would follow.

"Why..?" She knew her Uncle Loki couldn't hear her even though he had did this. He was gone, he left with his minions for his soldiers to destroy the city.

"Aph..." Castor said softly and kindly from behind her. "You know what we have to do.."

"NO!! I'M TIRED OF RUNNING! I'M GONNA STAY AND FIGHT FOR ONCE!!" Aphmau screamed, her cape fluttering in the wind that picked up.

She lifted her feet off the ground, Mjolner gripped in her hand.

"At least let me stay and help a bit..."

She flew off, going to help out and heal any survivors she could.

She couldn't save them all...but that doesn't mean she didn't try.

Princess Aphmau was growing up...and learning.

---

"Castor, ya want to go out and get some Ginger Ale?" Aphmau asked, now with a thick pirate accent.

"Why?" Castor asked. The two now took the appearance of pirates, Aphmau having lilac on her. Her bag from the Irene Castle layed on a nearby table, and you could see the button eyes of the wolf her mother gave her in the confines of the bag.

"Becauusee....I'M BORED!" She said, groaning a bit at the end and falling onto the bed inside her treehouse.

Castor scoffed before smiling, "Sure. I wonder if Oli will approve though." He looked over at Aphmau with a playful glint in his eyes.

"No, no, no, I-I think Oli's f-fine with me going out to get beer," Aph said, hesitating a bit.

"Don't worry, I was only joking. If you pay, that is."

"Fine, fine. I'll pay. Just don't tell Oliver. He'll literally kill me."

"I thought you were immortal."

"I'm immortal by age, sicknesses, and mortals, but other magicks users can kill me," Aph explained.

"Why did I never know that?" Castor murmured under his breath.

"Because you're an idiot."

---

Aphmau's hair blew in the stormy wind that blew over the ocean she and Castor were sailing in. She knew it was their time to leave this world... but she wanted to leave in a way everyone thought she was never coming back.

The thought of harming her friend's hearts and mental state made her want to break down and cry, but she pulled it together and kept a monotone voice and emotionless looks as she led her ship straight into the heart of the storm.

"Aph, you up there?" Castor called.

"Yep. Who'd be steering the ship otherwise," Aphmau replied in the same monotone voice she'd been using since they left the Isles.

"Hey, I know it hurts you. It's hurting me just as much. You're like my little sister and I hate to see you like this," Castor told her as he walked up beside her, taking the wheel from her sore hands.

Aphmau nodded and looked down as the rain pelted their skin. The waves grew rockier yet neither made a move to steer the ship away. They knew this was the only way to leave without having anyone stop them or know they left the dimension.

Bigger waves came and swept the ship from side to side. Aphmau went over to the side and clutched the railing as she looked down at the stormy grey sea, her mind in a tangle of thoughts and emotions despite her emotionless looks.

She let tears flood her vision as the final wave swept the boat upside down, letting the two friends fall into the murky ocean.

However, they didn't stay in the waters long.

Aphmau closed her eyes and pushed all thoughts and emotions out her mind the best she could as her hands started glowing.

The two disappeared, leaving a torn-up ship and a stormy ocean.

---

"Yo, Castor?" Aphmau yelled as she ran up to a house. She slammed the door open and walked in.

Castor was asleep on the couch, snoring ever-so-slightly.

"Huh, what?" he asked tiredly as he shot awake.

"Oh, just you." Castor ran his fingers through his messy hair in an attempt to comb it but failed, so he reached over and grabbed his green headband (as in, thingy-Dragon-doesn't-know-what-it's-called-so-she-calls-it-headband) and tied it around his head.

"Just me?" Aphmau responded sassily. "Anyway, I'll put that offensive comment off for now," she glared at him, "to show you the thing I was coming to show you."

"What is it?"

Aphmau smiled brightly, her eyes lighting up in a way Castor hadn't seen for years. "A Dimension Jumper Bracelet that isn't our own," she whispered, barely loud enough for Castor to hear.

---

Aphmau summoned her angel sword and glared at the five Shadow Knights in front of her; the other three behind her and two on either side.

"Aww, little Princess Aphie thinks she can take us on," one taunted, his voice sounding deep and crude.

"Shut up!" Aphmau snarled as she charged at the one and sliced at it. The slice didn't do any damage, yet still knocked off the Knight's helmet.

He had blue eyes and dark brown hair, in a near-quiff yet messy. (Quiff= thick-mohawk-thingy for those fashion and hair non-experts like me)

"Getting cocky, now are we?" he asked, reminding Aphmau of a certain chicken-obsessed friend who happened to say nearly the exact same things in a battle with...

Aphmau forced the thoughts out of her head as she charged again, but two started fighting her and nearly took her out before she teleported away.

"I promised I would never run, but I did..." she thought, remembering the promise she made herself. "Yet I was a coward and made sure I was safe above Mother's people. And for that, I deserve punishment."

She walked down the docks, the waves silently moving in the ocean. Her eyes held fear, but her face and movements held strength and courage as she reached the un-bordered edge.

"Punishment comes in many ways, for me, it's torture. Can't drown, can feel the effects of drowning, perfect way of punishment."

Aphmau dove into the water, leaving her bag on the dock, the bag holding all of the things she had from the previous worlds, as it was a bag with no bottom.

But as soon as Aphmau started to feel the slightest of effects of drowning, the wolf's eyes started to glow slightly, and Aphmau was teleported out of the ocean's water.

"W-What...?" she whispered, not even knowing what had taken her out, seen as everyone was asleep and it was midnight. "How?"

"I will never let my little girl get hurt."
