Chapter 23: Midsummer Island Adventure - Part 2
Previously on Dimensional Impact: Adventures In Teyvat. . .
A strange letter is sent to the little Spark Knight of the Knights of Favonius claiming that Klee must past a strange test in order for her to properly be family with her little best friend, Dodoco. Jordan is eager to help out his little sister as he grabs the other knights to try and see if there is anything that they can do to find out where this Dodo-King wants them to be. Apparently, there's a forgotten land called the Golden Apple Archipelago in Mondstadt and thanks to Lisa's knowledge, they were able to figure out the location. However, due to Jordan wanting to confirm if Klee really loves him or not, it causes an internal conflict with Klee wondering if Jordan properly loves her or not. To make things worse, Jean doesn't know if she'll be able to let Klee go off to these islands because of how mysterious they are. While Nintega and Barbara try to convince the Acting Grand Master to depart, how is Jordan going to patch things up with Klee now?
Now back to where we left off. . .
The very next day at noon, all of the Honorary Knights were up as when Nintega got back to them, they told him the whole story. Nintega tried helping with reassuring Jordan that Klee may have misunderstood his words, but without the young Spark Knight there for him to tell himself, it didn't change Jordan's mood that much. They were all now walking towards the plaza area where the statue of Barbatos stood. There, they found Barbara and Klee along with Master Jean which meant that the deaconess' plan must have worked.
Paimon: We're all here now!
Barbara heard Paimon's voice and smiled in their direction.
Barbara: Everyone, over here!
Klee: Everybody!
She shouted as well just before the group caught up to them. Jean greeted them with a smile.
Jean: Greetings.
Lumine: Master Jean is here too?
Jean: Yes, it's a long story... Barbara, Nintega, and Lisa have all spoken to me, and there is something that I have realized. Regardless if I approve it or not, Klee will go where she wants to anyway. This is how it has always been.
Klee just giggles innocently while rubbing the back of her head.
Barbara: We all know, Klee. Rather than have her run headlong into danger, it's better to agree to her request.
Speaking of, Jean peered back down at Klee.
Jean: Knight Klee, your request for leave has been approved.
This was more than exhilarating to hear for Klee who jumped into the air with excitement.
Klee: Wow! I'm so excited!
Barbara: However, there are conditions!
Jean: In exchange, I will be accompanying everyone to this letter's Golden Apple Archipelago. As for the Knights' affairs, I have entrusted them to Kaeya.
TheNintegaGuy: *smirks* You can thank me for that by reminding her that she'd be spending the whole time worrying about Klee if she were to have stayed here and focused on her work the whole time.
He pointed out which got Jean to rub the back of her head sheepishly.
Jean: R-Right... So, please allow me to travel with you all.
Jordan managed to crack a smile as he placed a hand on his hip.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Well, with the ever reliable Acting Grand Master joining us too, this should be a cinch.
Barbara: Big Sis- I mean, Master Jean also suggested that I come along. Barbatos forbid, but I can assist if someone needs medical treatment during our journey.
Paimon: We're so lucky to have Barbara too!
Klee: Miss Barbara, Master Jean, you two are so nice. I promise I'll behave!
Jean glanced down at the young Spark Knight with a raised eyebrow.
Jean: Klee, you always say that. I hope you will abide by your words this time.
Once again, Klee replied with an innocent giggle.
Jean: Lisa heard that I wanted to accompany everyone to the islands, so she prepared this pouch. Supposedly, opening it will reveal a new way.
Shadowlight2784: Really? I thought it'd be a lightning bolt we could hurl at Nintega for her.
Unsurprisingly, Nintega didn't like that very much as he glared back at Shadow.
TheNintegaGuy: Okay, I'm starting to think you might just be the reason she does that to me in the first place.
Jean: Lisa said not to open it until we've reached the islands. I think it might be something to use in case of an emergency.
Barbara: As expected of Miss Lisa! She's been thinking of us this whole time. Anyway, our next step is to find the bard, right? I just asked the people nearby. They said that he hasn't performed at the square today and that he likely went to Windrise.
Jordanwolfboy9743: *nods* Let's head there then and find that Tone-Deaf Bard.
He goes up to Klee and offers her a hand.
Jordanwolfboy9743: What do you say, little sis? Want a piggyback ride?
On instinct, Klee was about to say yes, but something in her changed and she hesitated, showing a small saddened frown instead.
Klee: O-Oh... n-no. That's okay, Jordan.
She answered, hiding herself behind Jean. That was more than a shock for Jordan whose eyes widened fairly. At that moment, he knew why she suddenly felt like this which filled him with guilt again.
Jordanwolfboy9743: O-Oh... um... okay then. If... that's what you want, little sis.
Jean was a little confused by Klee's refusal as well considering that those two are particularly close in her eyes. She turns to Nintega with a little bit of concern.
Jean: *whisper* Did... something occur with those two that I should be concerned about?
Nintega gets an uneasy frown himself as he looks over at the two before back up at Jean.
TheNintegaGuy: It's... complicated, but I wouldn't say that it's too serious right now.
Jean hums, still feeling confused on why Klee was acting differently than usual around Jordan, but nonetheless, she knew that Nintega was right on that not being as important of a topic right now as they all made their way to the Symbol of Mondstadt's Hero over at Windrise to find Venti.
Their trip to the giant tree didn't take very long and they arrived in a decent amount of time. When they got there, they found the joyful bard himself standing over by a large rock, letting the window blow into his face and through his hair.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Ven, there you are! We knew you'd be here.
Venti's eyes pop open at the sound of his voice being called and he smiled over at the encroaching group of friends.
Venti: Hm? If so many people are looking for me, then I suppose it is something important?
TheNintegaGuy: You knocked the nail right on the head with that one, buddy.
Lumine: Do you know anything about the Golden Apple Archipelago?
Lumine hands Venti the same letter that she used to trace out the Elemental signs.
Shadowlight2784: According to what we found out, these are the islands.
Venti takes the letter and inspects the drawing before he just nods with a smile after taking a second looking at them.
Venti: Oh, yes, that place... Hahaha, congratulations, you've found the right person.
Klee gets an excited smile hearing that Venti knew about Golden Apple Archipelago as this meant she was one step closer to finding the Dodo-King.
Klee: Wowowooow, you really do know!
Venti: So, now they're called the Golden Apple Archipelago, huh? They used to be known as Haar Islands. They're located on a stretch of sea that's particularly difficult for the average person to reach.
Shadowlight2784: No wonder people barely know about it then if no one's even traveled there in years.
Venti: Not to mention that in order to get to the area, you have to get past strong storms and thick-fog year round. Ships can hardly approach the islands, let alone dock. Why do you guys wish to go there?
TheNintegaGuy: That's... something apparently only our little red knight here can explain.
Klee: I'm going there to meet Dodo-King! He said he wants to test Klee to see if she's qualified to be Dodoco's family!
Venti: Hmm. Are you nervous?
Klee: A little... But I will not give in. Master Tone-Deaf Bard, you must help us!
Venti: Master Tone-Deaf Bard... *smiles* Interesting. I like it.
The moment Klee said that nickname out loud, everyone looked towards Paimon with annoyed glares since she was the one who invented that in the first place and now Klee is starting to do some name-calling like her.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Paimon... I think you're turning into a bad influence for Klee.
Paimon: Is this Paimon's fault?
She asked, scratching her head.
Shadowlight2784: *sarcasm* Oh sure, because everyone, but you, calls him that constantly, right?
Venti: Fear not! Since you wish it so, Master Tone-Deaf Bard will lend a helping hand.
Jean: Could you really help us?
Venti: *chuckles* Of course! In this world, what is more pure and free than the wish of a child?
Knowing what he had to do next, Venti summoned his lyre and strummed the strings in an elegant sounding tone. It was enough to amaze everyone, most notably Barbara who held a hand onto her chest.
Barbara: What a beautiful sound...
However, they couldn't exactly stay focused on the charming music being played as the wind suddenly began to pick up speed all around them.
Paimon: Huh? Is the wind picking up?
Venti finished playing as he eyed the sky with a smirk.
Venti: Wait just a moment, he'll be here soon.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Who wi-?
A loud gasp escaped him before he zipped right over to Venti, grabbing him by the shoulders.
Jordanwolfboy9743: D-Does this mean what I think it means?! Please tell me it does, Ven!
Venti: *chuckles* Oh, that's right. You technically missed out on this the first time, didn't you?
Barbara: M-Missed out on what?
The wind picked up even more and everyone turned in the direction it was coming from. Their eyes all almost popped right out of the sockets when they spotted the massive, flying form of a familiar dragon. One of the Four Winds himself, Dvalin.
Jean: Th-That's...!?
She tried to say, but Venti tisked and wagged a finger at her.
Venti: Uh-uhh... This is a secret between us here, so don't tell anyone else.
Barbara: One of the Four Winds!?
The dragon flies above them as they watch him while Jordan nearly hyperventilates, getting Shadow to raise an eyebrow at him before glancing at Nintega.
Shadowlight2784: What's his deal? We rode on Dvalin before.
TheNintegaGuy: Heh, we did, but if you remember, he passed out when we flew on Dvalin for the first time, so he technically didn't get to experience it.
Jean, however, knowing that Barbara nor Klee could know about Venti's true identity, covered it up the best that she could.
Jean: *deliberately* Oh! My dear poet, you have my utmost gratitude for the aid you have provided us.
Venti: *deliberately* The Acting Grand Master sure is formal.
Knowing that they need to play along as well, the others decide to flatter Venti too with the best "normal" smiles they can put on their faces.
TheNintegaGuy: *deliberately* W-Way to go, Venti! Knowing how we can break through obstacles!
Shadowlight2784: *deliberately* A-And here I thought, we'd swim across instead.
Lumine: *deliberately* Venti, you never cease to amaze us.
Jordanwolfboy9743: *deliberately* Whoa, we owe you one big time, Ven! Nice work!
Venti: *laughs* What wonderful expressions you all have! I'll see you off here. May the winds bless your travels~!
They all then look back towards Dvalin who takes a gentle landing right next to the entire crew and lowers his neck down to offer everyone a ride to the Golden Apple Archipelago.
Dvalin: If my assistance is needed for a matter such as traveling. I shall not decline a request from an old friend.
Hearing that, Jordan was the first notable excited individual as he starts running over towards Dvalin before turning back towards the others.
Jordanwolfboy9743: I'm not passing this up! Last time, I was knocked out the entire time! But, not today, no siree!
He turns around to face Dvalin, now looking a bit nervous.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Hey, big guy! So uh... no hard feelings about the whole "shooting you with a giant arrow" thing, right? We're cool?
Dvalin: I wish to seek the same freedom that Barbatos gave to me after those events. As such, I seek no ill will towards anyone, including you.
Breathing a sigh of relief, Jordan grinned and patted the dragon on the neck.
Jordanwolfboy9743: That's good, buddy. Glad to hear that.
In response to his pats, Dvalin slightly growled, making Jordan stop immediately with a nervous sweat.
Jordanwolfboy9743: S-Sorry... a-anyways, let's get going, guys!
The others nodded before each of them began climbing up onto the dragon one by one. First Nintega, followed by Shadow, Lumine, Paimon, and Barbara who was still in shock of having been so close to Dvalin in the first place. It came down to Jordan, Jean, and Klee last as the former offered the young Spark Knight a hand with a smile.
However, just like before, Klee looked at his hand with some uncertainty and a bit of sadness before turning around to Jean instead.
Klee: M-Master Jean, c-could you help Klee up?
Jean, shocked once again by Klee acting so strangely, snapped out of it before nodding.
Jean: O-Of course, Klee.
Reaching down, she lifts Klee up high enough for Nintega and Shadow to handle pulling her up all the way.
TheNintegaGuy: Up you go, Klee.
Before Jean could climb up as well, she looked back at Jordan to see him staring down and looking sad again. Donning a sympathetic look, Jean placed a hand on his shoulder and made him look back up.
Jean: Whatever happened between you and Klee... I'm sure it'll be resolved in time. You just need to be patient with her, Jordan.
Jordanwolfboy9743: *whisper* *sigh* I... just wanted to know for sure if she really understood what love meant. Now... Now, I think I blew it with her...
Jean raised an eyebrow from this.
Jean: What do you mean by... "understood" what love meant?
Jordanwolfboy9743: *sigh* She's... She's a kid, Jean. A lot of kids don't know any better about what something means, so... I wanted to see what she thought love was and she misunderstood what my intentions were. Now... she probably assumes that I don't love her anymore... or that anyone does for that matter.
Jean stared down at Jordan for a second longer before a small smile came to her face.
Jean: I think the problem is a little deeper than you think.
It was then Jordan's turn to raise an eyebrow at Jean.
Jordanwolfboy9743: What are you talking about?
Jean: Try thinking back on some occasions that you had with Klee and you might find your answer. Though right now, we should be on our way.
Jean then climbs up Dvalin's neck while Jordan just stares up, completely confused by what Jean was talking about as he shrugs his shoulders before climbing up Dvalin himself. Once everybody was on board, Dvalin's back, the large dragon slowly lifts himself off of the ground as Jordan, Barbara, and Klee were the ones who seemed the most excited already that they were actually riding on a dragon.
Dvalin then faces Venti who smiles before nodding at Dvalin that he'll be waiting right there for him when he returns. With that out of the way, Dvalin immediately takes off in a direction while Venti gives a small way goodbye to them as the team departs to the Golden Apple Archipelago.

High above in the clouds, the entire crew had excited smiles on their faces being able to ride on Dvalin's back either again or for the first time. The god lets out a roar before zooming forward as everyone holds on while taking in the view of the sky.
TheNintegaGuy: Holy cow! I know some of us have ridden on Dvalin before, but this view beats Falcon Coast and Stormbearer Mountains combined!
Barbara: I-It's... It's s-so... w-w-wow...!
Jean: *smiles* This is most definitely a view to remember.
Shadowlight2784: Yeah... you guys better hope that he doesn't do a barrel roll at some point.
Paimon, who had been clinging to his back to keep from being blown away, looked up with a deadpan face.
Paimon: You really think Dvalin would intentionally do that with passengers on his back!?
Klee: Wheeee! Riding on a dragon is so fun! Klee wants to fly like this every day!
TheNintegaGuy: *chuckles* As fascinating as that sounds, Klee, Dvalin's only really getting us to the islands and likely back too. So, you might wanna enjoy this while you can, kiddo.
Somehow, from all the way in the back, Jordan heard that as his eyes widened and he looked ahead at them. Nintega then got a devious and daredevilish idea as he slowly and carefully stands up with everyone watching him and he smirks while posing with his arms out balancing on Dvalin as if he was a skateboard.
TheNintegaGuy: Check it out! I'm riding on air without elemental energy!
The group had mixed reactions to his daredevil stunt. Jean just smiled nervously with sweat dripping down her head, Shadow just smirked up at him while shaking his head, Lumine was pretty impressed as she smiled for him along with Paimon, Barbara was so concerned for him that she had her hands up to be ready to catch him in the need arose, and Klee clapped her hands with a close eyed smile.
Klee: You're surfing, Nintega! You're surfing! *giggles*
Her reaction served to sour Jordan's as one of his hands balled into a fist with annoyance and envy at the thought of Nintega potentially stealing Klee away as her new big brother. Snorting, he turned his gaze away and glared down below them with a bored look and his fist on his cheek as they continued their flight through the sky. Shadow sees this out of the corner of his eye and turns his body so that he could face Jordan.
Shadowlight2784: *sigh* Dude... I know that you're probably fussing over Klee potentially favoring Nintega over you-
Jordanwolfboy9743: *sarcasm* Wow, such a great start, Shadow. Just what I expected from you.
Shadow chose to ignore that as he deadpanned at Jordan for a second before putting back on a sympathetic look.
Shadowlight2784: But... care to take a look around and realize that you're on the back of a freaking dragon... again? You missed out on the first time, so... live it up already, pal, because you may not experience this ever again!
He snapped at Jordan who was jolted out of his moping. As much as he hated to admit it, Shadow had a point there. Here he was, once again riding on Dvalin, and he was choosing to mope the whole time? Looking back down, he saw the clouds passing by rapidly and then looked ahead to feel the wind blowing through his hair and face. Slowly, Jordan felt his excitement return as did his smile and in a feat possibly about as daring as Nintega's was, Jordan began maneuvering himself ahead of everyone, heading all the way to Dvalin's neck and taking a seat there. Thankfully, Dvalin didn't seem to mind as Jordan took a hand, balled it into a fist, and threw it into the air.

Hearing Jordan yell this out with gusto, cause another mixed assortment of reactions as Jean and Lumine giggled, Barbara once again was a little concerned for Jordan, Shadow playfully rolled his eyes with a smile while shaking his head, Nintega snickered at him, and Klee who tilted her head at first at Jordan's actions, felt encouraged to the same as she started copying him.
Klee: Yeeeaaaah!
Her cry of excitement reached the ears of Jordan who glanced back in surprise. Initially, he wanted to invite her up, but he chose to still keep his distance just until he knew that things between him and Klee were alright. Suddenly, Lumine squinted her eyes before they widened and she pointed ahead.
Lumine: Whoa! What's that in the clouds?
They all looked towards where Lumine was pointing as well as Dvalin had exited the sea of clouds to show a large assortment of islands in front of them in the far distance which made everyone look ahead in awe.
Jean: So that must be the Golden Apple Archipelago.
TheNintegaGuy: Well since we're here, less looking, more landing.
Dvalin headed for the tallest island there and landed as gently as he did before, allowing the group to all disembark.
Dvalin: This is as far as I go. It would be cumbersome for me to proceed further. Please exercise caution.
Shadowlight2784: Hate to break it to you, D, but concerning that little stunt of his earlier, I don't think Nintega knows what cautious means.
Nintega shoots him a glare for that comment.
TheNintegaGuy: Hey, I resent that! Plus, where's the fun in that?!
Placing a hand on both of their shoulders, Lumine shoots a stink eye at both of them before turning her eyes to Dvalin.
Lumine: Thank you for getting us here, Dvalin. We'll handle the rest.
The dragon nodded in understanding before flapping his wings and disappearing back into the sky, leaving our heroes alone on the island surrounded in fog.
Klee: We're here, we finally made it!
Paimon: Tone-Deaf Bard sure knows when to pull out all the stops, suddenly letting us ride over on a dragon! Paimon almost got blown away!
Meanwhile, a shaking Barbara waddled over to them with her knees buckling, threatening to send her careening to the ground.
Barbara: Th-That was my first time riding on a dragon's back. M-My heart won't stop pounding...
Jean: Phew... Is everyone alright?
Jordanwolfboy9743: Yeah. I think it's safe to assume that we're all still intact, MJ.
TheNintegaGuy: I don't know about you, *smirks* but I'll gladly take another dragon ride!
Shadowlight2784: That... sounded awfully dirty.
As expected, that was a reply that flustered Nintega greatly as he bonked Shadow on the head.
TheNintegaGuy: *whisper* Not like that, you dirty minded pervert!
Barbara: *sigh* Yes, I'm fine.
She answered Jean's question before turning to her older sister.
Barbara: Big Sis- uh Master Jean, just who is that bard?
Jean: Well, uh...
She went silent while trying to think of a clever enough explanation for Venti being able to summon Dvalin until one such excuse came to mind.
Jean: He's a legendary bard of exceptional musical talent who can use his lyre to call forth all manner of creatures.
Impressed, the Honorary Knights all collectively grinned at her.
Paimon: *whisper* Woah, even Master Jean is pretty quick on the spot...
TheNintegaGuy: *smirks* *whisper* Well, her having the title of Acting Grand Master isn't just to look showy after all.
Barbara: Wow, what an impressive person. We must properly thank him when we return.
Jean: Agreed. In any case, what are these islands?
While from afar, the islands looked clear for them, now that they have arrived, everyone looked around to see that the place was very foggy and silent like a grave.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Lisa did say that these islands were considered to have bad weather and dreadful fog. I don't... suppose if we were to combine mine, Nintega's, Shadow's, Lumine's, and Jean's Anemo powers, we could dispel this fog, right? Make it easier for us to see?
Jean: I admire your ingenuity, Jordan, but I don't think all of us combined could remove the fog.
Paimon: In that case, we should be extra careful.
Jean: Honorary Knights, Paimon, what else did the letter say?
Jordan gladly volunteered for that as he rubbed his head to recall what the letter said.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Oh, right! I think I remember it saying "Wicked girl of flame, I am of the Dodo Clan as its overlord. In the name of Dodo-King, you are not qualified to become Dodoco's new family! Unless, you bring Dodoco to the Golden Apple Archipelago, light the four beacons, and knock upon the trialist's gate to accept your challenge."
Barbara: Four beacons? Does that mean he wants us to find something that emits light?
She wondered.
Shadowlight2784: You know, now that you mention that, doesn't it seem like this particular island that we're on is a bit less foggy than everything else surrounding it?
Jean: Looking carefully, that indeed appears to be the case. Could the clearing of the fog be related to this device?
She turns her head towards a large, strange beacon that everyone follows with as they all recognize this as a Teleport Waypoint. In Genshin, they are one of the easiest methods of transportation all around Teyvat.
TheNintegaGuy: Isn't that... a Teleport Waypoint? Those are extremely hard to find.
Lumine: Hm, maybe for you guys, but Paimon and I have actually managed to find a few of them dotted about Mondstadt here and there.
This surprises the boys as they all turn to glare at Lumine, annoyed.
Shadowlight2784: And you didn't bother to say anything?!
Jordanwolfboy9743: Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with Shadow on this one!
TheNintegaGuy: What the heck, Lumine?! Why?! That could've saved us hours of just walking!
Lumine: *smirks* Because you boys were too busy trying to swoon over some of the local hotties to notice them~ It's not my fault that I know how to maintain focus more than you three~
Paimon: *giggles* She's gotcha there, boys~
All three of the guys each gained an embarrassed red face from their teasing until they all smacked them with a hand followed by a groan.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Why does she have to be right?!
Shadowlight2784: Because we're idiots. Horny, horny idiots. I think that was established way back then.
TheNintegaGuy: Why me...? Just why...?
Paimon: *chuckles* Anyways, crafting Portable Waypoints requires Luminescent Spines, so they can also function as a source of light. So if this device here seems like it can dissipate fog, maybe it's a similar kind of device.
Lumine: I think so too.
She agreed before Barbara got back to thinking.
Barbara: "Light four beacons, and knock upon the trialist's gate"... What will happen after we light up all four beacons?
Jean: There's already one lit device here. It appears that we need to find the other three and light them up as well.
Before they could head off and find the other beacons though, something caught Klee's eye and she skittered over to it.
Klee: Huh? What's that?
She asked, earning the attention of everyone as they now worried for her.
Jordanwolfboy9743: K-Klee, wait!
They all run after her before she stops right next to a cliff and she points downwards.
Klee: It looks like something's down there!
Jean: Let's take a closer look.
TheNintegaGuy: Alright then, let's take out our Wind Gliders so no one goes splat like a pancake... Great, I made myself hungry...
That earned a chuckle out of some of them before each person aside from Klee who wasn't old enough to have a gliding license yet, put on their Wind Gliders. Seeing this and no one else was volunteering, Jordan walks over to Klee to ask her to carry her downwards. However, the young Spark Knight saw Jordan coming out of the corner of her eye as she immediately dashed over to Jean again instead.
Klee: Master Jean? I don't have a Wind Glider like you guys yet. Can you help Klee down there, please?
Knowing that this was getting kind of out of hand for both her and Jordan, Jean decided to subtly bring up that Klee was intentionally trying to avoid Jordan.
Jean: Why not have Jordan do it for you, Klee? I think he was about to make a kind offer to help you down as well.
An unsure/saddened look crossed the young girl's face before she turned it in Jordan's direction where her frown got even worse.
Klee: I-I... I don't want... Jordan to take me this time.
Jordan sighs and shakes his head.
Jordanwolfboy9743: It's... It's fine, Jean. Klee doesn't have to travel with me if she doesn't want to.
Raising an eyebrow, Jean rose to her feet.
Jean: A-Are you sure? I'm just saying-
Jordanwolfboy9743: I said, she doesn't have to, alright?!
He snapped back, making both Jean and Klee recoil in shock. Realizing what he did, Jordan let out another sigh and rubbed his face.
Jordanwolfboy9743: I... I'm sorry. Just... Just take her for me this time... please, Jean?
Even though he shared an apology, the damage had already been done to the young girl as her eyes started watering a bit and she turned away from Jordan to hug Jean's leg tightly, not wanting to show everyone that she was crying from Jordan's outburst. Jean picked up Klee over her shoulders while patting her back before shooting Jordan a serious frown.
Jean: You... have a lot to think about.
She said before jumping downwards with Klee holding onto her tightly. The others however, shot Jordan more of a surprised glance rather than one of anger.
Shadowlight2784: Dude... You seriously need to chill out.
His observation led to a small glare from his Savior best friend who looked away with a sigh.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Do yourself a favor, Shadow, and keep out of matters that don't involve you.
Without saying another word, Jordan spread out his Wind Glider and jumped off the cliff to follow Jean and Klee. Meanwhile, Nintega and the others just looked at him baffled as Barbara turned to Nintega.
Barbara: Will... Will he be okay, Nintega?
TheNintegaGuy: *sighs* I wish I knew, Barbara... but until we can mend his and Klee's relationship... I don't think those two are going to be talking to each other for awhile.
Paimon: Paimon doesn't get it though. All Jordan said was that he likes Klee. How can that possibly hurt her feelings?
Lumine: It probably doesn't have to do with just what Jordan said, Paimon. It's also how he said it.
TheNintegaGuy: I told him that Klee's a little girl and is still super young, so even though there are some stuff that should be said to her at one point, it's better for her to see what's going on in her eyes for now. I guess... he didn't listen to the message very clearly.
Barbara: Ohh... Those two... It's makes me sad seeing them argue.
Lumine: Well, our first priority should be helping out Klee with this Dodo-King problem. We can try and fix it along the way if we can.
TheNintegaGuy: You're right. Let's move.
They all then jumped down to join the others and when they did, they were all staring at a boat as they tilted their heads in confusion.
Paimon: ...A boat?
Jean: It looks as if someone has been awaiting our arrival.
Shadowlight2784: So... they expect us to brave such weather in what's essentially the equivalent to a dinghy boat?
Jean: I'm afraid that appears to be the intention. Everyone... Everything about these islands is a mystery. Regardless of what lies ahead, please proceed with utmost caution.
Everyone hopped onto the boat and Lumine put some Anemo energy in her hands to create a small wind current that pushed them forward so that the boat could be activated and they could set sail across the islands so that they could try and find some way to get a better view of the area. Throughout the voyage, they spotted several buoys in the water that gleamed with a faint light.
The group surmised that this must have been what the letter meant when it said "light the four beacons" and they traveled close to one to see what would happen. Sure enough, when they got within a few feet, the faint light within grew brighter, enough to even push some of the fog away. Grinning from the reaction, Nintega took hold of the wheel and nodded with determination.
TheNintegaGuy: Light the beacons, it is! Hang on, guys! I'm shifting to MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE!!!
He said before spinning the wheel to take a hard turn towards the light, surprising all of the group as they were barely able to keep their balance from the sudden movement. Eventually, they shined all of the beacons before it led them to a small mountain. They all hopped off the boat before climbing the mountain to see what the pillar led them to and when they got to the top, they were met with an unactivated Teleport Waypoint as it surprised them.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Awesome! There's a Teleport Waypoint here!
TheNintegaGuy: How do we activate it?
Shadowlight2784: Leave that to me.
He said before walking up to the Waypoint and tinkering with it, until just after a quick minute, it lit up blue, hovered out of the ground, and let out a large radiant light that instantly shoved a lot of the fog away. Everyone reacted to that with a resounding "ooooh" as Lumine placed her hands on her hips with an impressed look on her face.
Lumine: Seems like you might get the hang of it first, Shadow.
Shadowlight2784: Eh, may as well start learning now since we're here.
Paimon: The surrounding fog seems to have lifted! Lighting these devices is really useful.
A gasp then left little Klee who headed over to another cliff to look out over the water as the fog had been pushed away quite a bit.
Klee: The fog's gone!
The group all converged where she stood and marveled at their handiwork.
TheNintegaGuy: Huh. Not a bad view!
Paimon: Huh, it's actually pretty scenic here!
Jean: The four beacons have been lit, but we still don't know what trials may lie ahead.
Barbara let out a happy sigh and admired the view as well.
Barbara: The weather's so nice! I know we can't afford to drop our guard, but I can't help but enjoy the summer...
Klee: I wanna catch fish!
Jean: Klee, this isn't Mondstadt. Please be careful.
She reminded the little girl who remembered right away with an understanding nod.
Klee: Oh, I understand...
She then turned to look up at Shadow.
Klee: Mister Shadow, after we deal with Dodo-King together, we can go catch some fish!
Shadow stood, surprised that Klee asked him of all people to do something fun with her, but seeing as how she and Jordan had a little spat earlier, he could tell why.
Shadowlight2784: I... guess we could do that, Klee.
Unbeknownst to Klee, Jordan overheard this and felt his heart break even more as well as sink into the depths of his chest. He almost felt himself cry if not for him wiping the tears away just before anyone could notice.
Jean: Who or what exactly is Dodo-King?
She suddenly asked, earning the gazes of everyone around her.
Lumine: You seem concerned, Jean.
Jean: Yes. It is also my first time here. This may not sound fair to Klee, but my primary duty is to protect everyone. Finding this overlord is secondary. Also, the sudden appearance of this letter, these islands that are inaccessible by ordinary people... It's too much of a coincidence. Why would this sort of invitation be sent to a child?
Jordanwolfboy9743: There are a couple of answers to that. Either this whole thing is a set up by some crooks or maybe someone who actually knows Klee wanted her to come out here.
TheNintegaGuy: Yeah, but there's literally no one else in Mondstadt aside from Albedo who has known Klee for a very long time.
Shadowlight2784: I can already tell that as much as Albedo is enigmatic, this is not really his thing. So until later... I think being skeptical is our best option here.
Barbara: It's truly unbelievable... I also mustn't be careless.
Paimon: Well, what are we waiting for? Let's start exploring the area.
Everyone looked towards Paimon and most of them let out chuckles or playful eye rolls at her eagerness.
Lumine: Carefree and ready to explore, classic Paimon.
Jean: Paimon's right. We should take advantage of the clear weather to reassess our situation.
Barbara: Even on a mysterious island, I have no worries as long as you're all here. Whew! So, should we go swimming first?
That question gave Nintega a slight idea in his head while Jordan turned to Barbara a little confused.
Jordanwolfboy9743: When we don't even have any swimwear with us?
Jean: *sigh* Barbara is always happy-go-lucky when she sees such beautiful scenery.
She then turns to our four heroes.
Jean: Honorary Knights, please feel free to explore. I'll be at the ready if there is any sign of danger.
TheNintegaGuy: *nods* You got it, Master Jean.
Jean: I hope this island doesn't give us too much trouble...
Jean, Barbara, and Klee then all took off together while Nintega turned back towards the entire land and looked all around the island as the more that he observed it, it almost looked like a beach resort where it could fit an entire neighborhood around the islands.
TheNintegaGuy: Hmm... You know, Barbara's suggestion gave me a little bit of an idea.
Lumine: Which is?
TheNintegaGuy: Once we finish exploring these islands and figuring out the mystery behind it, why don't we invite some of our friends and girlfriends here? Besides, we pretty much already neutralized the exterior dangers of it, so it should be fine for bringing others here too.
Lumine was surprised by his suggestion, but didn't find herself objecting to it either as she gained a smile before nodding.
Lumine: I think that's a great idea, Nintega. Just... make sure you don't pass out from bleeding too much from the nose, okay~?
She teased, nudging Nintega in the side of his torso with a smirk.
TheNintegaGuy: *deadpans* For your information... that happens only with Shadow around.
He said pointing a thumb to the Monarch Knight who showed the same deadpan stare back at him.
Shadowlight2784: I heard that!
Nintega snickered before Lumine raised a skeptical eyebrow.
Lumine: Oh, so that never happens to you then~? Wanna test out that claim when the girls get here~?
TheNintegaGuy: Gladly. I've got the cleanest mind compared to these two, so I'm not worried about seeing my girls in swimsuits at all.
He said, crossing his arms and looking pretty proud of himself.
Lumine: *playfully scoffs* Yeah, and I'll be there to firmly put your money where your mouth is.
They shared a laugh together for a few seconds before Lumine remembered something else. Looking behind them, she spotted just about everyone, but not Jordan. After a bit more searching, she found him sitting alone on another cliffside, letting his feet dangle off the side while staring off into the water. The sound of Klee's giggling stirred him for a second as he looked to his left to find the little girl chatting with Barbara and seemingly having a good time with the deaconess. His shoulders slump and he turns away, allowing his head to droop more.
Lumine: *sigh* So... tell me I'm not the only one who's miffed at Jordan for how he snapped at Master Jean and poor Klee. I know he's hurting and all, but it doesn't mean he can be a jerk about it.
TheNintegaGuy: *sigh* I wish I could disagree with you on that, but... I can't. That's sadly one of Jordan's biggest flaws that I've learned over the years. He acts more on emotion rather than logic sometimes. At the end of the day, he means well, but... it can really backfire if he doesn't think it through thoroughly enough.
Shadowlight2784: Sounds a lot like you with planning out your battles.
Nintega deadpans at Shadow before shaking his head and ignoring him before turning his attention back to Jordan.
TheNintegaGuy: The only way for Jordan to fix his current conflict with Klee is to actually learn why she got distant from him in the first place. None of us know either... but the least we can do is try to help him find that.
Paimon: Oh! Paimon could ask Klee what's going on with her and you guys could try and cheer Jordan up!
TheNintegaGuy: It's... worth a shot, but... I doubt Klee's going to disclose a logical answer to her sadness.
Lumine: It could still be a start. Better than sitting around, wondering what the reason is.
The boys all nodded in approval as Paimon floated over to Klee.
Paimon: Hiya, Klee! Can Paimon ask you something?
Klee turned to the floating child and smiled.
Klee: Oh, hi Paimon! What do you need?
Paimon takes in a deep breath and lays it down.
Paimon: Are... Are you upset with Jordy or something? It's just... you two seem like you've been way more distant than usual. A-Aside from him... yelling earlier, what else... did he do that was so bad?
As expected, these kinds of questions didn't sit well with Klee who's fearful/saddened look came back. Both her eyes and head drooped to the ground before a sniffle came from the young Spark Knight.
Klee: H-He... he doesn't... *sniff* he doesn't... love Klee anymore.
Paimon was purely shocked by that kind of answer, causing her mouth to hang agape for a second.
Paimon: H-Huh? W-What makes you think that?
Klee: H-He... He said he "liked" Klee and not... and not "loves" Klee! I-I'm old enough to know that... that "like" is not as good as "love." T-That means he... doesn't love Klee anymore!
It was at that point while Klee began crying into her hands that Paimon began to understand why she had been so distant from Jordan this whole time. Realizing this, Paimon put on a look of sympathy and floated closer to Klee.
Paimon: Klee... Paimon's sure Jordy didn't mean it like that. Paimon's sure he still loves you very much! You two calling each other like siblings is proof of that.
Klee: *sobbing* M-Mommy never said that she likes Klee... Sh-She always said that she loves Klee and that Klee should love everyone who treats me with kindness.
Paimon's eyes widened a bit from that as she now thinks that she gets why Klee got distant from Jordan after what he said. Jean said before that Klee's mother left her in their care when she left. Imagine anyone as young as Klee being away from their parents for a long time and staying with people who don't give the same unconditional love as they do. Just the thought was almost enough to make Paimon cry herself, but she kept it together for Klee's sake. Reaching out, she placed a hand on Klee's shoulder to gently rub it and comfort the poor sobbing girl.
Paimon: Oh Klee... Paimon's sorry you feel this way. Maybe... Jordy just didn't realize what he was saying. People say things they don't mean all the time... n-not about the "love" part, just generally speaking. I'm sure Jordy wants to make amends with you, but you just need to give him a chance.
Klee: *sobbing* N-No! He yelled at me, so he must not love me anymore!
Ripping herself out of Paimon's grasp, Klee turned and ran away, sobbing even greater now. Paimon wanted to stop her, but she knew that it would probably make things worse if she did, so with a defeated sigh, she hovered back over to Nintega, Shadow, and Lumine.
TheNintegaGuy: Were you able to find something out, Paimon?
He asked. Still feeling guilty, Paimon explained to them what she had gathered from Klee as best as she could. At the end, the three Honorary Knights were left scratching their heads.
Shadowlight2784: So... a simple misunderstanding then?
TheNintegaGuy: I think it's a bit deeper than that, Shadow. Klee wants someone that she can be so close to that it reminds her of her mom.
Shadow nodded, slowly getting it while putting a finger to his chin.
Shadowlight2784: And pretty much, you could say that the only people who remind her of that so far are Jean, Razor, probably Amber or Lisa, and definitely Albedo.
Lumine: So what now? I mean... we were about just as unsuccessful talking with Jordan too.
TheNintegaGuy: I hate to say it, but... we're going to have to stay out of this and let those two make up on their own.
Shadowlight2784: Well, we could always talk to him individually instead of all at once. It may have overwhelmed him when all of us tried conversing.
Lumine: No, Nintega's right. The only way those two are ever going to feel like brother and sister again, is if they handle it themselves...
She said before looking out and up into the sky, thinking of someone close to her.
Lumine: Kind of like... having an actual sibling with you.
She said thinking about her twin brother, Aether, which Nintega and Shadow could tell as they put hands on her shoulders.
TheNintegaGuy: Well... let's not stand here moping about it. Let's spread out and find some clues or just have some down time exploring the island for now. Master Jean suggested it after all.
Everyone nodded in agreement before they all went their separate ways either taking their break time to explore around the area, take a nap, or have some more talking time with each other. When nighttime came, they all set up camp as the four Honorary Knights slept on one mountain while Jean, Barbara, and Klee slept on another.
In Paimon's perspective, she slowly opens her eyes to the blinding sunlight as she covers her face to block the shine. She yawns and stretches before floating as usual.
Paimon: Ahh... The weather feels so nice. Still feels like Paimon's dreaming.
She then turns to see the rest of the group already up aside from Klee, but there was something extremely different about Jean and Barbara. The two Gunnhildr sisters were now in swimwear as Jean sports a blue sleeveless shirt with matching puffy blue arm cuffs, high-waisted white shorts that stop at her upper thigh, and a dark blue belt that has a chain attached to it. Her black bow is also replaced with a larger blue one. On her thigh is an elegant blue leglet with a light blue rose on it. Her Vision is attached to a ring with a bow under it. The shoes she wears are a pair of lace-up blue sandals. Barbara was wearing a white sailor-inspired cardigan over a dark blue swimsuit along with blue and white sandals. Her Vision is worn on a clip on her back. She also has a duck bag.
Paimon: Good morning! Wh-Wha, what's with everyone's clothes!?
TheNintegaGuy: *chuckles* Well, remember yesterday when I suggested that maybe we could have some fun after we tackle the important part of the mission? I kind of spread the idea to Barbara and Jean and as you can see, they were already prepared for this kind of event.
Barbara: Hehe! So, how do we look?
Shadowlight2784: It's fine for my tastes. Though a small improvement could be to show more sk-
Lumine grabs Shadow's hair and pulls on it firmly to get him to stop talking as she narrows her eyes at him while the Monarch Knight yells in pain.
Shadowlight2784: Ow, ow, ow, ow! Okay, okay! Uncle, uncle, uncle!
Lumine: What Shadow MEANS to say is... you both look bright and ready for the beach.
Barbara: *giggles* It's like Nintega said. Although we didn't come here to have fun, we don't want to miss out on a beautiful summer day by the sea!
She said this with an excited smile. Jean on the other hand, felt very embarrassed showing her swimwear to everybody around.
Jean: Th-This doesn't look weird, does it? *sighs* Such light and summery clothing definitely doesn't suit me... Ah, hehe... Pardon me...
TheNintegaGuy: *smiles* I think you look very pretty and marvelous, Master Jean.
His compliment made Jean feel a little less embarrassed as she gave Nintega a small smile.
Jean: Really...? Thank you, Nintega.
Although Jordan wanted to send a compliment to the sisters himself, he felt like it would be kind of awkward for him to do so given his attitude yesterday, so he just stayed silent and nodded in agreement with each of his friends.
Paimon: It's surprising that Master Jean would specifically pack summer clothes.
Barbara quickly corrected her on this assumption.
Barbara: Oh no, my big sister would never pack these herself. Lisa and I picked them out for her.
Paimon was the first to take notice of the fact that Barbara clearly referred to Jean as her big sister and she faced the rest of the group to point that out to them.
Paimon: Blurting out "big sister" and not even realizing it... Barbara's drunk on summer already!
TheNintegaGuy: Eh, just let her have it, Paimon. I'd hate to ruin her fun.
Jean: There's quite a story behind these summer clothes... I thought Lisa's pouch was to be used for an emergency. I didn't expect it to contain a set of summer clothing.
Shadowlight2784: Not to mention all the accessories that came with them. Lisa really pulled out all the stops for you two.
Jean: *nods* Everyone in the Knights of Favonius is always trying to have me take leave. I suppose I do push myself too much...
TheNintegaGuy: *mumbles* Understatement of the year, people. *chuckles*
At that moment, Jordan wanted to say something important and he cleared his throat.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Guys... I... I just wanted to say that I'm so-
Right as he was about to utter an apology, Klee called to the group from somewhere else nearby.
Klee: Everyone, come over here!
She called which immediately gained everyone's attention.
Jean: That's Klee's voice!
She instantly took off in the young girl's direction as did everyone else as Jordan was left standing alone briefly before he let out a low sigh.
Jordanwolfboy9743: *whisper* Later then... I guess...
He followed the group over to Klee's location and found her standing by another cliffside.
Klee: I saw something weird.
Paimon: Huh? What's going on? What do you mean by something weird?
Klee: Look at the ocean!
She points to the sea, diverting everyone's eyes to it. There, in the water, now protruded a strange looking narrow metal device.
Klee: See? There's something weird floating on the water!
Jean: That narrow device... It seems to be a buoy.
Barbara: But we didn't see anything when we arrived here yesterday...
Klee then perked up when she realized something.
Klee: Dodo-King must have put them there!
Shadowlight2784: *sigh* Great, so now, we've got metal looking-
Nintega nudges him and shoots him a glare, telling him to keep his commentary PG, especially since they were around a child.
Shadowlight2784: ...pole of some kind rising from the water? This whole thing just doesn't add up to me.
Klee: Well, since he hasn't revealed himself to us, does that mean he's changed his mind? Or maybe... Maybe these buoys are a clue and he's waiting for me to find him!
Jordanwolfboy9743: That's... a good way of looking at it. Nice observations, Klee.
He said, seeing if he could try and warm up to Klee again, but all he got was silence along with her looking away from him a little fearfully. He realized this didn't work and just slumped with a sad look as Shadow patted him on the shoulder in a comforting manner.
Barbara: So could that be why these buoys have suddenly appeared?
Lumine: Let's take a closer look and find out.
TheNintegaGuy: Lumine's right. If these are a sign of something of what "Dodo-King" has laid out for Klee and us too then we should see what exactly they tell us.
Barbara: Is it okay to go out there though?
Jean takes a step ahead to observe with a more serious approach.
Jean: Perhaps, but we must investigate the buoys regardless. It's hard to say what will be waiting for us at sea. Just in case, prepare yourselves for combat.
Hearing this, the four Honorary Knight took out their weapons with Lumine casually swinging her sword, Nintega takes his sword out while pounding a fist into his palm, Shadow takes out his polearm and spins it above his head before stabbing it into the ground, and Jordan spins an arrow around in one hand like a drumstick while carrying his bow in the other hand. Seeing how they are all prepared to take on any danger, Jean nods with a smile.
Jean: Once you four are ready, please assemble here, and we'll head over on the boat together.
TheNintegaGuy: *chuckles* Even in swimwear, Master Jean is always reliable to lead us in the right path.
The others agreed with this as well, making Jean blush a little.
Jean: N-Not at all. This is... just my duty. Now then, I'll entrust the preparation efforts to all of you.
With that being said, they all took a few minutes to prep themselves as the Honorary Knights decided to do a bit of quick training to make sure that they aren't rusty. As usual, Lumine was the winner as Nintega yells before getting thrown onto his stomach.
TheNintegaGuy: *groans* This is gonna get old if Lumine keeps besting each of us...
Shadowlight2784: You know, it wouldn't kill you to put in a little more training in your own time, Nintega.
TheNintegaGuy: Wait, training? You guys have been training?! Without me?!
Paimon: Uh... yeah?
A scoff then could be heard from Jordan as they all turned to look at him peering away with a small frown.
Jordanwolfboy9743: And Jean somehow picked him as leader despite that.
He sighs and shakes his head before walking away, leaving everyone staring at him.
TheNintegaGuy: Okay... that... hurt a little.
Lumine: I... think this is something else that's going to get old fast if we don't pair those two up soon...
Shadowlight2784: I agree. I mean, if anyone's gonna be snide and cold around here, it's me.
TheNintegaGuy: That's... besides the point, Shadow.
They all look to see Klee, Jean, and Barbara preparing for exploration as well as Jean was taking down camp, Barbara was readying her catalyst, and Klee was making sure she had all of her belongings in her backpack... including a bunch of Jumpty Dumpties.
TheNintegaGuy: *sighs* I mean... I guess it wouldn't hurt to talk to Klee, but... let's try and be really subtle about Jordan, okay?
Paimon: You got it, Nintega!
Lumine: We'll try our best.
Shadowlight2784: Anything to get our buddy back, I'll work with it.
They all then walk towards the little Spark Knight as she was just finishing up packing her stuff.
Klee: Hmm, I need to bring Jumpty Dumpties, Dodoco, and... myself!
When Klee finally noticed the three Honorary Knights, she gave them a smile and a two-handed wave before putting on her backpack. Nintega turns back to the others with a whisper.
TheNintegaGuy: *whisper* Follow my lead.
He then turns back to Klee and the first thing that he did was try and make small talk with her.
TheNintegaGuy: So, Klee... about the buoys...
Lumine: Who do you think put them there?
Klee: Dodo-King must have placed those things in the ocean! He's a bad guy! But I will bravely face him and do my best for Dodoco! Nintega, Shadow, Lumine, thank you for helping me!
While they were all grateful that Klee appreciates their help, they know that she just left Jordan out on purpose as they all get uneasy looks at each other as they didn't think they would need to go into this topic so fast. Nintega looks at Lumine who shakes her head, Paimon looks at Shadow while pointing towards Klee as he shrugs his shoulders, not knowing what to do either.
TheNintegaGuy: U-Uh... Klee...
Shadowlight2784: You kinda... well... sort of...
Lumine: N-Not that it matters, but you, um...
Paimon: Why did you leave out Jordan? He's helped out a ton too.
Paimon realized what she blurted out as the others turned to her with flaring glares.
Nintega, Shadow, & Lumine: Paimon!!
Paimon: U-Uh... P-Paimon means, uh... The Honorary Knights aren't completed without Jordan... N-No wait! Um, Jordan's a great asset to us too! W-W-Wait, wait wait! I mean...
Shadow just reached out and shuts Paimon up by grabbing her and placing a hand on her mouth.
Shadowlight2784: Just... stop talking already!
Looking back, the three Honorary Knights saw the now saddened expression on Klee who turned her eyes to the ground.
Klee: J-Jordan... doesn't love Klee anymore...
Lumine: *sigh* Well... did he actually say that or are you just assuming?
Klee: But you were there too, Miss Lumine! He said that he likes Klee and doesn't love Klee.
Shadowlight2784: Kid, I think you're just misunderstanding what he meant.
TheNintegaGuy: Klee, you're still young and we get that. Jordan didn't really think his words through at the time because he didn't know if you knew what love was. Everyone sees love differently, including you, Jordan, and us too... Although Jordan has a different perspective on it, that shouldn't ruin yours just from what he described as love to you.
Klee still didn't quite understand it as she kept her gaze aimed downwards, prompting Nintega to sigh and kneel down to gently grab her shoulder.
TheNintegaGuy: Klee, I know my buddy and deep down, Jordan really does care about you... and I mean REALLY care about you. I mean, he was worried sick when you just suddenly ran off back in Mondstadt because you were desperate to find out where Dodo-King was. Do you remember that?
The memory of that event came back to Klee and her eyes widened slightly.
Shadowlight2784: How about when you had that nightmare and he sang that lullaby for you to help you get back to sleep? Does that sound like someone who doesn't care?
Lumine: Or maybe even the time we were all playing with the water hose around the back of Angel's Share? You two were really having fun spraying each other.
Paimon nods in agreement with all of them.
Paimon: Jordan's not perfect, but he definitely does show how much he actually does love you like a little sister.
TheNintegaGuy: Look... we're not saying that you should just immediately make things right with him, but... you don't need to separate yourself from him either.
Klee looks up at all of them before looking to her left to see Jordan still just sitting alone with his arms crossed as it brought Klee a fearful look as she takes a step back a bit, but Nintega stops her and pats her on the head making Klee look back up at all of them to see that they were all smiling down at her.
Shadowlight2784: If anything, this shows how much we actually care about you and him.
Paimon: So, come on, Klee. Won't you give Jordy another chance? Please?
Looking a little uncertain now, Klee pondered for the next moment or two before she gazed back up at the taller Honorary Knights.
Klee: I... I don't know, but... I think I'll try.
Lumine: *nods* That's better than doing nothing.
Shadowlight2784: Now, mind you, kiddo. Don't expect us to help you further. Whatever happens next is for you and Jordan to figure out.
TheNintegaGuy: *sigh* Shadow... could have probably said that differently, but he's essentially right about that.
He pats Klee on the head once more before standing up fully.
TheNintegaGuy: You don't have to go talk to Jordan right now since we're about to get going, but... try to give it some thought, okay Klee?
Klee nodded to his question.
Klee: Okay!
With that being said, the three travelers took their leave as Lumine and Paimon went over to Barbara to check on her while Nintega and Shadow approached Jean. Klee looked at Jordan one last time out of the corner of her eye with a finger to her chin wondering if what her older peers said was true.
Lumine: Hey, Barbara. What do you think of this archipelago?
Barbara: I just want to say that the ocean here is beautiful! Sea and sun - a summer dream come true! I really want to have a seaside performance! It would be amazing, I just know it!
Paimon: Well, since Nintega said that we should have some fun when we're finished, Paimon thinks that you'll be able to perform spectacularly for us during our summer fun.
Barbara: *giggles* I'll definitely live up to all of your expectations.
As they were talking, Nintega, Shadow, and Jean were all looking out and observing the buoys in the ocean.
Jean: What could these buoys possibly mean...?
Shadowlight2784: Heck, what could these whole entire islands possibly mean?
Jean: These islands are isolated from the outside world, like a secret Domain crafted by nature itself.
TheNintegaGuy: That's actually a pretty good analogy now that I think about it.
Jean: We were guided here by the letter and with the assistance of Venti and Dvalin... Everything seems a little too serendipitous. I'm a little concerned.
As she spoke out her concerns, Jordan was listening nearby and he sighed before standing up from the cliff and walking back over to them.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Well... as long as we face it together, you shouldn't have to worry too much, MJ.
Everyone was a bit startled by him suddenly approaching them, but they calmed down a second later.
Lumine: Well, look who decided to stop moping by himself.
Jordanwolfboy9743: *sigh* Okay... I deserved that. Guys... I'm sorry for how I've been acting lately, to all of you. I... guess you can put two and two together on why that is. I... don't know if things between me and Klee will ever be patched up, but... that doesn't mean I should stop being a Knight; to stop performing my duty as a protector.
Shadow was the first to act as he gave his friend a pat on the shoulder.
Shadowlight2784: Trust me, pal. We know what you're going through and we're not saying we don't sympathize, but... you being a buzzkill? Come on, bud! You and all of us here know that that's not your style.
TheNintegaGuy: *nods* Shadow's absolutely right, pal. You have lots of time starting now to patch things up with Klee, but still, don't let that take you away from being yourself.
Jordanwolfboy9743: I'll... I'll try.
This was the exact same thing that Klee said when they talked with her earlier as Lumine, Nintega, Shadow, and Paimon all traded small smiles with each other as they believe that this is progress for both of them.
Jean: Regarding your previous words though, I am here to protect you all, so please don't worry. Come what may, I will face it head-on.
Everyone nodded firmly with the Acting Grand Master's determination before Nintega pointed outwards at the buoy that they discovered earlier.
TheNintegaGuy: Alrighty then. Since it looks like we're all prepared, let's get back on the boat and take a closer look at what those buoys are.
They all proceed to walk, but not before Jordan turns back to Klee who was chasing Dodoco around with her eyes by spinning around.
Jordanwolfboy9743: C'mon, Klee. We're going.
The little girl froze when she heard his voice and her look of fear came back. Slowly, she turned to look at Jordan, but then her expression softened just a bit when she noticed him looking back with a small smile. While she still felt on edge, she reluctantly gave him a nod and walked slowly back to the group. Her compliance managed to cheer Jordan up just a little bit. It wasn't major progress with Klee, but at least she was willing to listen to his request and that was enough for him for now.
Heading back down to the boat, everyone climbed on as Nintega was about to take the controls once more before Jean put a hand on his shoulder.
Jean: It's... probably best that we let someone else pilot the ship this time, Nintega.
She suggested, looking a bit nervous upon remembering their last escapade. Nintega shrugged his shoulders before allowing Jean to take control instead. She guided them all towards one of the buoys in the middle of the ocean as they now got a better look.
Barbara: What are we supposed to do with it?
Shadowlight2784: I can try something out, I've got materials for that.
Lumine, Nintega, and Jordan all groaned with a small facepalm of Shadow making it a lot more complicated than it needs to be. The Monarch Knight walks up to the edge of the boat and proceeds to try and study the buoy until Nintega walks up right beside with a small smirk.
TheNintegaGuy: I've got some materials for that too!
He said before kicking the buoy over with an Anemo-infused foot, putting a large dent in it and it sunk into the water. Shadow deadpans ahead of himself while Paimon floated beside him with a squeaky grin.
Paimon: That seemed to work like a charm!
Jean: But... was that what we're supposed to do?
She wondered before Jordan came in next.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Well MJ, as a certain friend of mine back home once said that when the plan gets messed up, always fall back on the golden rule.
Barbara: Yeah? What's that?
Jordan then turned to Nintega with a smirk who reciprocated with the same look before Shadow gained a similar look too.
Jordan, Nintega, & Shadow: Break stuff!
Lumine: Actually, they may be onto something. Look!
She pointed down into the water as everyone peeked over to see that not only did the buoy sink down all the way to the underwater surface, but some energy was also expelled as well.
Paimon: It looks like something sunk down to the seabed. Maybe it's the buoy's energy that released when it was destroyed?
Klee: So they really were set up by Dodo-King! Let's keep going!
The rest of the group nodded and without skipping a beat, they continued on their way to the other buoys, shattering each of them to pieces and releasing the energy stored within them. They eventually reached the final buoy and destroyed it.
Klee: That's the last of them!
She and everyone else cheered. Jean was just about to congratulate them, but before she could, the boat they were on started to violently shake for some odd reason, throwing them all off balance for a second.
Jordanwolfboy9743: U-Uhh... are we gonna need a bigger boat or something?
Shadowlight2784: As much as I'd like to believe that... I don't think we're being attacked by a giant man-eating shark.
The shaking soon started to grow, making everyone's eyes widen.
TheNintegaGuy: Earthquake!!!
Jean: Hurry! Back to shore!
She said before immediately making a quick U-turn with their boat and using her Gale Blade, Jean created wind strong enough that pushed them all back towards the island in a matter of seconds. Everyone then proceeded to jump out of the boat as Lumine and Paimon got out first, then Barbara, then Nintega, then Shadow and Jean. Jordan turned back to Klee and the shaking was still going as he didn't think at all and just picked her up while jumping out of the boat with her in his arms.
Klee was too focused on the shaking to notice as Jordan carried her back onto the shore as everyone then noticed that the shaking quieted.
Jean: This sound...
The sound remained lowered for the first couple of seconds, leading everyone to a false sense of security for a moment. Then, just as suddenly as when it started, the shaking came back, causing everyone to stumble again. It was so bad that Jordan lost his balance and Klee almost went overboard and into the water had he not managed to catch her by the hands as she dangled over the side. He held on for dear life, not even thinking of letting go as the island they stood on... began to rise out of the water. In fact, several other islands around them were doing the same thing. Soon enough, the islands had risen up several yards into the air, resembling land masses rather than islands this time.
When they had gotten to a certain height, the shaking finally subsided as everyone was left in quite a shock. Jordan and Klee were still at the cliffside as Jordan held onto her.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Nrgh! I-I've got you, Klee!
With a grunt of exertion, the Savior Knight hoists Klee back up onto solid ground as she looked up at him in shock.
Klee: J-Jordan... you... you saved Klee?
He turned to her and blinked a few times before putting on a small smile.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Well... of course I did. I wasn't just gonna let you fall, Klee. I care a lot about you.
Klee continued to stare up at Jordan surprised before a small, happy smile slowly grew on her face. Before they could patch things up even further though, Paimon spoke out in shock of the sudden event that just unfolded.
Paimon: Ah, what's going on here? This part of the ocean is way too mysterious!
She pointed out into the sea. Everyone got back to their feet and took notice of what she was referring to. With the addition of the island they were standing on along with a bunch of others, there were now islands that hadn't been there before, meaning more mysterious places for them to explore.
TheNintegaGuy: *smirks* Well, finally, something interesting!
Barbara: This whole stretch of land just rose out of the water!
Klee seemed eager however as she put her hands on her hips with a mischievous smile.
Klee: Dodo-King, Dodo-King, I'm going to catch you~! Hehe~!
She ran further up the hill as everyone else looked at her with smirks.
Paimon: Looks like Klee's as energetic as ever.
Shadowlight2784: *sigh* Someone should really get a child leash for that kid.
Jean: Before the ground started shaking, I heard the sound of machinery. I believe there may be an immense mechanical structure under this region of the ocean. With the entire archipelago situated on a mechanical framework, it could be activated to raise each island from beneath the water.
Barbara: Something like that would be nothing short of a miracle... Could it be the power of the Anemo Archon, Barbatos?
Jordanwolfboy9743: Eh, this feels more like a purposefully set up location, Barb.
Jean: It's incredible, no matter how you think of it. Using a letter to draw us here and these challenges involving various mechanisms... This so-called Dodo-King is no amateur.
Lumine: I agree with Jean. Whoever he is, clearly is way smarter than he lets on.
Hearing that things were about to get more serious around here, Barbara lowers her head down in disappointment.
Barbara: Aw, there goes the holiday mood...
TheNintegaGuy: Don't worry, Barbara, as soon as we're done with all of this Dodo-King business, we'll be back to having fun in no time.
Nintega's confident smile got Barbara to give one as well as she nodded while Jean ponders the situation before looking back over to the rest of the group.
Jean: Well, either way, I will do my best to remain vigilant.
Paimon: Wow! Master Jean's so cool when she's determined!
Lumine: Whatever happens next, I'm sure that the boys and I will exercise some caution as well.
Jean: *nods* Thank you for your understanding.
Suddenly, Klee's voice rang out as everyone turned to see her jumping up and down while pointing over a tiny island in the distance.
Klee: I found him! It's Dodo-King! He's over there on that island! Hee-hee, gotcha~! You wanted Klee to come find you, so here Klee comes! Jumpty Dumpties, get ready~! Let's go!
Everyone sweatdrops at Klee's eagerness as they'll definitely have to make extra sure that she practices some caution on these islands too.
Jordanwolfboy9743: I'll... keep watch over her. She might be a bit cautious around me now, but I'm still not gonna let anything bad happen to her.
Shadowlight2784: Better than just letting her wander off...
Barbara then looks out ahead to where Klee was pointing originally as she takes a closer look at the island to see that it looked more like ruins than an island.
Barbara: Is that... a platform in the middle of the ocean?
Jean: Something has appeared. Everyone, we can take a closer look, but please be on guard.
Shadowlight2784: That should be easy considering there's literally nothing, but water, sand, and a bunch of islands around us...
Nintega and Jordan deadpan at Shadow's comment.
TheNintegaGuy: Her point still stands...
Jordan rolled his eyes before walking over to Klee and kneeling down so she could climb on for them to glide over.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Come on, Klee. I'll take you over there.
While Klee didn't respond with fear this time, she still looked a little reluctant, meaning she still hadn't quite forgiven Jordan just yet. It didn't require much for him to realize this as he sighed.
Jordanwolfboy9743: A-Actually... you don't have to, Klee. I'm... sure Nintega or Jean can help you.
He stands up and opens his Wind Glider, but before he jumped off the edge, he turns his eyes back to the young Spark Knight as a few tears could be made out in them.
Jordanwolfboy9743: I'm... I'm sorry, Klee... for everything. Really... I am.
He said as his voice was on the verge of breaking. Without saying another word or even waiting for her to respond, Jordan dives off the cliff edge and glides over to the next island as Klee watches him go. Now, a part of her felt a little bad for him as it seemed that what the other Honorary Knights said may have been true.
Speaking of them, they all watched the whole thing unfold as they turned to each other in silence or simply shrugged their shoulders as while there was progress, it wasn't entirely enough to say that they made up. Jean then walks over and picks up Klee before letting her sit on top of her shoulders before the Acting Grand Master along with the rest of the crew pull out their Wind Gliders and follow right behind Jordan. As they did, Paimon floated over to bring up what just happened.
Paimon: Well... at least she didn't respond with fear, crying, or running away this time, so... that's good, right?
Lumine: I... think so. I think we did our part though.
TheNintegaGuy: Let's just keep observing and see where it goes from there. Failure isn't an option whether it comes to a mission or expedition.
Shadowlight2784: I mean technically... Failure is always an option.
Everyone turned to Shadow with narrowed eyes at him.
Lumine: You know what else is an option...? Slapping you.
They all landed on the island that Klee pointed out earlier before they all jogged towards this strange looking machine that appeared to be covered by a large oni mask.
Jean: Everyone, please be careful!
She warned, keeping her distance.
Paimon: Huh? Is that a really tall person?
Barbara: It resembles a human, but something's not quite right.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Well, the giant oni mask is kind of an indicator on that.
Klee: Dodo-King, I see you! You can, uh, Arb... Arbi...
Paimon: Arbitrate!
Klee: Right! You can arbitrate, Klee!
Everyone shook their heads with a sigh as Klee is using that word in the wrong kind of way which meant that she doesn't know what it means.
Paimon: Ugh! What is this kid saying?
Jean: She obviously doesn't understand what that word means...
No response came from the mechanical human object whatsoever which made Klee tilt her head in confusion.
Klee: Hey, Dodo-King! Why are you ignoring me? Is it because I took too long and made you angry? Then... I'm sorry!
TheNintegaGuy: She's... apologizing to it now? Where was that bravado from a second ago?
Klee: Hello! Dodo-King!
Barbara: It looks like they're not interested in Klee at all.
Shadowlight2784: I think "it" is the right word actually.
Jean turned to Shadow with a curious eyebrow.
Jean: How do you mean, Shadow?
Shadow walked on over to the strange machine with Jean following right behind him as Shadow inspected it a little before he walks over behind it and noticed that it was wearing some strong armor, had a katana as a weapon, and there also appeared to be some puppet strings attached to it as well.
Shadowlight2784: Looks like Pinocchio got an upgrade. It's not moving, so... it's likely been abandoned. And given its texture... This is Inazuma type machinery.
Paimon: Inazuma? But isn't that really far away?
Jordanwolfboy9743: If it's all the way from there, then it really doesn't belong in a place like this.
Jean: It would appear so. This area of the sea is independent and does not border any country, so it certainly seems out of place here. But given Inazuma's current situation, how could something like this occur...?
TheNintegaGuy: Well, seeing as how this is Inazuma tech, it's probably smart to assume someone brought that thing here.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Could it have been that Hat Guy who was a Fatui Harbinger? He said he was from Inazuma.
TheNintegaGuy: No, I don't think this is his doing. I'm pretty sure he would have shown himself by now if he was behind this. He strikes me as the kind of guy who loves attention.
Jordanwolfboy9743: *smirks* Coming from you, that's saying something.
Nintega narrowed his eyes back at his friend.
TheNintegaGuy: Heeey...
Shadow is then seen trying to tinker with the machinery as he pokes his head out.
Shadowlight2784: Also, we probably would've seen a bunch of Fatui on this island by now if that mountain ascetic was involved.
As they tried pondering over the implications of an Inazuman device appearing here of all places, Klee approached said device with worry.
Klee: Oh no! Dodo-King isn't moving anymore!
Coming up with a fast excuse, Jean turned to face her.
Jean: Klee, maybe Dodo-King is tired.
Catching onto what Jean was doing, everyone gave forced smiles as Jordan turned over to Klee.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Y-Yeah! He's... probably just building up energy for your test! I-It is pretty late into the day after all, so he's likely conserving his strength!
Paimon: R-Right! *yawns* Nap time.
Barbara: Let's go with Klee to play elsewhere and come back once Dodo-King wakes up.
Klee looks at all of them in surprise.
Klee: Really?
Barbara: *nods* Of course!
Klee, however, thought about it a little more until she realized something.
Klee: Hm... No, I get it now. This isn't Dodo-King. The real Dodo-King is somewhere else.
Hearing that their bad acting was all for nothing, Lumine and Nintega groaned, Shadow fell down on his back dramatically, Jordan and Paimon facepalmed, and both Jean and Barbara nervously chuckled while also a little surprised that Klee was this perceptive so quickly.
Jean: Huh? I-Is that right?
Klee: I won't give up. Dodo-King, just wait! We'll find you!
After she made her promise, little Klee took off to the nearby shoreline as just about everyone sweatdropped at the same time.
Shadowlight2784: And... she's off once more. She's got spirit, I'll give her that.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Klee, wait up for us!
Jean: Hmm... Jordan, can you watch over Klee while the rest of us scout the area for anything important?
Looking back, Jordan nods to her.
Jordanwolfboy9743: I'll try my best. Be sure to call us over if you find anything, MJ.
He jogs off to find Klee as Nintega turns back to her, sporting a small smile.
TheNintegaGuy: You did that on purpose, didn't you?
He asked, resulting in a knowing smile from Jean as well.
Jean: I... don't know what you mean.
Shadowlight2784: Jean, we may be idiots, but we're not stupid.
Barbara giggled a bit from Shadow's comment before she looked over to see something strange as she pointed over to it with curiosity.
Barbara: Big sis- M-Master Jean, Honorary Knights, look over there!
They all look to see Barbara pointing towards a set of rocks stacked on top of each other as it confused them for a second until Barbara started walking over towards it.
Shadowlight2784: It's a stack of pebbles... What are we doing? Skipping them across the ocean now?
Barbara: No, no. There's something strange about it, I mean.
They all walked towards Barbara to observe the strange stacked rocks as it was still nothing out of the ordinary. Jean called Jordan and Klee over and they came back within a few seconds.
Paimon: Huh? What's this?
TheNintegaGuy: We're still not following you.
Barbara: Look at these stacked-up stones and small flowers... It feels like a memorial for someone.
Taking a slight step back, Barbara was indeed right on the money with that as it almost looked as if this used to be a spot for someone to pay some respects.
Lumine: *smiles* You're very perceptive, Barbara. Though that is a deaconess's intuition, alright!
Lumine's compliment caused Barbara to get an embarrassed smile.
Barbara: Hey, you're embarrassing me...
Paimon: But the only other thing around here is that machine in Inazuman clothing.
Barbara: Could the memorial be for the machine?
TheNintegaGuy: That's likely, but... Why exactly?
Jean: Perhaps it once performed some deed that merited a memorial.
Her younger sister hummed at the thought as Jean continued.
Jean: Everything we've seen here indicates that there was once a human presence in these waters. Still, there isn't enough for us to infer what kind of civilization it was. And up to now, we still have yet to see any people or gravestones.
As she pondered, Klee intervened and pointed off to her left.
Klee: Master Jean, can I go over there and have a look?
Jean: Yes, but be careful! Take Jordan with you so you won't be alone.
Klee's eyes widen and she peered up at Jordan as he just responded with a small smile. Blinking a few times, her reluctance was put aside for the moment as Klee relented with a nod.
Klee: Okay! Come on, Jordan.
She runs off again as Jordan follows close behind.
TheNintegaGuy: Jean... I'm happy that you still trust Jordan enough to watch over Klee.
Jean nods and looks back at the Hero Knight.
Jean: Of course. A few bad moments aren't enough for me to easily shun him. As Acting Grand Master, I must be the one to either resolve or overlook conflicts that involve one of my Knights of Favonius or even a citizen of Mondstadt as well. Besides, Klee is too young to have a proper sense of danger. Speaking of which, the rest of us must stay alert to the situation. Honestly speaking, I thought that letter was only a prank at first.
TheNintegaGuy: We thought the same thing as well.
Barbara: I suspected as much too, but who would send a prank letter to a child?
Shadowlight2784: Well, there are a bunch of weirdo degenerates out there, so I wouldn't be surprised if Klee had gained some... unwanted attention.
TheNintegaGuy: Dude... for Archons sake, don't go there immediately.
Shadowlight2784: *shrugs* I'm just saying...
Jean crosses her arms in thought.
Jean: A letter that guides us to activate mechanisms on a deserted archipelago... It's bizarre. It makes me wonder whether this isn't some kind of trap, long in the making. We must keep our guard up.
Over in the distance, Klee was with Jordan, but she looked slightly downtrodden as she played with some sand in order to make a sort of sandcastle. Jordan was afraid to ask as he didn't know if it was about him... but luckily it wasn't as Klee was the one to ask Jordan something instead.
Klee: Jordan... Do you think that Dodo-King doesn't want to see Klee?
Surprised by her question, Jordan tilted his confused head.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Why wouldn't he want to see you, Klee?
She went silent for a few seconds before she continued.
Klee: Dodoco loves me, an-and I love Dodoco, so Dodo-King can never separate us. That's why Dodo-King doesn't want to see us...
She lets out a whimper after that.
Klee: *whimper* Klee doesn't want him to separate us.
Her admittance to such thinking left Jordan stunned. He wasn't sure how to answer as he was left thinking, trying to be careful of what he would say next. Just then, he realized that maybe he didn't have to use words exclusively as he dug into his satchel to look for something. When he found it, he brought it out and showed it to Klee and her eyes nearly shot out of her head. Jordan now held a harpastum in his hands as he knelt down to better show it to her.
Jordanwolfboy9743: I'm... sure you know what this is, right Klee?
Klee: It's a harpastum!
She replied in an excited voice as he nodded.
Jordanwolfboy9743: *smiles* Indeed, it is. Master Jean told me once that you always wanted to play harpastum, right?
Klee: Yeah! Klee was just thinking about Ludi Harpastum!
Jordanwolfboy9743: Well... I made this for you some time ago, so now... every day can be Ludi Harpastum for you.
Klee's excitement tripled in size as she started jumping up and down with joy.
Klee: Yay! Thank you, Jordan!
Jordanwolfboy9743: *nods and smiles* You're welcome, kiddo. So, keep your spirits up, alright? We'll find Dodo-King, convince him to let you keep Dodoco, and we'll all live happily ever after.
He then looked down with a bit of a frown.
Jordanwolfboy9743: And... you won't have to have your feelings hurt by me anymore...
Klee suddenly had a frown overtake her face as well.
Klee: What do you mean?
Jordanwolfboy9743: I... I don't want to hurt you anymore, Klee. It... really broke my heart to see how upset I made you, so... after you find Dodo-King and become Dodoco's family...
At that point, Jordan started to cry again.
Jordanwolfboy9743: *voice breaking* I-I... will stay away from you... s-so you can be happy again...
That didn't really make Klee feel any better at all as seeing Jordan cry... was making her cry a little as well.
Klee: B-But... But Jordan, K-Klee doesn't want you to go away! D-Don't you like being with Klee?!
Jordanwolfboy9743: *sigh* O-Of course, I do, Klee. I-I didn't just call you my little sister for the fun of it! I love you so much... which is why I need to stay away from you... so that I don't hurt you again.
However, what Jordan said during that line made Klee's eyes widen in shock which Jordan noticed.
Klee: J-Jordy... Y-You... said... You said that you love Klee!
She pointed out to which Jordan nodded, sniffing and wiping away his tears.
Jordanwolfboy9743: I... I did. Klee... I never wanted you to think I didn't love you, okay? I just... didn't say the right words. I... just should have been happy that you loved me, but... I took it for granted and as usual... I doubted it just like I doubt everything about myself! I'm not a good big brother! I'm not a good Knight of Favonius! I'm just... not... good enough at anything...
He couldn't hold his tears back anymore as he fell to his hands and knees.
Jordanwolfboy9743: *sobbing* P-P-Please... Please forgive me, Klee. P-Please forgive your idiot of a big brother...
Klee's face was practically in tears as well as she stared at Jordan for a minute in complete silence before she did something that Jordan didn't see coming at all...
She jumps up and wraps her arms around Jordan's neck tightly trying to hug him as tightly as possible, shocking Jordan as he stood up to his knees which carried Klee off of the ground a bit as she started flailing her legs, just trying to be as close to Jordan as possible. She cried into his neck as she didn't dare to let go.
Klee: *sobbing* I-I-I forgive you, big brother Jordan! Y-You are good enough! Y-You're good enough for me! I-I love you so much!
Hearing that, Jordan sniffles again before slowly embracing Klee back as he hugged her as tightly as a teddy bear, not letting go until either of them are ready, which wasn't for a little while. A few feet away, Paimon was seen floating over to check and see how things were going for Jordan and Klee. When she saw them embracing though, she froze mid-flight and her lips stretched into the widest smile she'd ever pulled off. With a newfound giddiness, she spun around and floated back to the group, more than eager to give them the great news.
Paimon: Guys! Look, look, look! Over there!
She said pointing as Nintega followed her gaze with a raised eyebrow.
TheNintegaGuy: It better be important, otherwise-
Once he sees Jordan and Klee embracing, a shocked look came to his face along with the others as to see those two hugging each other for a prolonged amount of time must mean that they had to have forgiven each other. They all then grew warm smiles seeing Jordan and Klee rekindle their sibling-like relationship as that was just what they wanted.
Lumine: Aww... I don't think I can really say how happy I am for them.
TheNintegaGuy: *chuckles* Neither can I, Lumine.
They then heard a sniffle off to their left and they found the source to be Shadow who was very close to letting out some tears of his own.
Paimon: S-Shadow? Are you crying?
Shadowlight2784: W-What? I can be an emotional person too, y'know? D-Don't judge me!
Barbara: *giggles* A warm feeling that any of us have right now is exactly what we should be grasping in our hearts. I'm with the Traveler. I can't express how sweet this is.
Jean: *smiles* Well, I think we should let them be for a while. We don't want to ruin their moment after all. Come on, lets go set up camp somewhere. I'm sure they'll be able to locate us when they're done. We'll continue our search for Dodo-King tomorrow.
Paimon: That's right, Jean! This Dodo-Jerk can't hide forever. Even if it takes a thousand years and a thousand searches... uh, w-we'll get him! Ahem...
Everyone raised an eyebrow at her until they all nodded before following Jean over towards another section on the island. Back with Jordan and Klee, Jordan let go of Klee with a big smile until he tried standing back up, but he noticed that Klee wasn't letting go which made him raise an eyebrow before nervously chuckling.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Klee, I think we've hugged each other long enough to know that we've forgiven each other. You can let go now.
Klee shook her head while still trying to hold her grip on Jordan.
Klee: Nuh-uh! Klee wants to be as close to Big Brother Jordy as she can!
A warm smile came upon Jordan's face as a result and an idea came to him. Wrapping his arms around Klee's smaller body, he picked her up and held her as Klee kept her arms around his neck.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Well, the others might start worrying about us if we don't get back soon. Still, you can keep hugging me until we get back, Klee. Sound good?
His suggestion was met with a nod and another smile from Klee.
Klee: Okay!
Jordan chuckles before carrying Klee over in the direction where the others left. These two had quite the conflict, but they were ultimately able to work it out in the end and they both couldn't be any happier. Now all that's left is to figure out what is the mystery that lies in this strange island as the team are in for a bunch more surprises soon.
To Be Continued.
