Chapter 18: A Vengeance Written In The Stars
(A/N): This is an original chapter for the book that's supposed to fulfill a couple of the harem candidates in the story. Original chapters will be rare going forward and they're only to connect the plot.
It's the middle of the afternoon in the outskirts of Mondstadt as we see the Spindrift Knight herself, Eula Lawrence scouting the area with two other Knights of Favonius. They were clearly on the job tracking down targets as they were in Stormbearer Mountains running up the cliffside. When they arrived in the area, Eula looks around before turning around to the other knights that she was leading.
Eula: The Fatui have been spotted around this area again, so stay alert for any sign of them.
The two knights saluted her and kept a vigilant eye out for the sneaky agents themselves. As they were watching the area, some loud commotion caught their attention as Eula immediately ran over to the side of the cliff. The other Knights of Favonius followed, but Eula raised a hand up for them to stand down. She had a somewhat annoyed look as she looked down to see on a level below them, the Fatui that they were already tracking were being confronted by our four Honorary Knights.
Jordan rolled to the side to avoid a couple of gunshots from one of the Fatui Agents before he takes a shot back at them before running up to kick them back. Lumine is then seen charging at another agent with a tank on its back as she swiftly leaps over it, cuts the tank which was filled with Cryo energy, and this freezes the agent. Nintega then comes in with an Anemo-infused fist and shatters the agents into pieces. Another agent tried sneaking up behind Nintega, but was promptly thrown to the side thanks to a well thrown polearm thanks to Shadow. They then look to see more shots being taken at them as they both move out of the way and scattered to reposition themselves. Eula just stares down at them with narrowed eyes while the other two Knights kept small smiles.
Knight of Favonius: I've got to hand it to the Acting Grand Master. They're young and they're outlanders, but their teamwork is as unexaggerated as people say.
Eula just places a hand on her hip.
Eula: Hmph. The nerve of those Honorary Knights. Stealing my targets once again. Clearly the last lesson that I taught them wasn't enough for them. Mark my words though, my vengeance on them will come swiftly!
She says this before her eyes were drawn down towards Nintega who was gesturing for Jordan to take on another agent where he was pointing.
Eula: And that especially goes for you.
Nintega kicks another Fatui Agent away before he felt like he was being watched as he looked behind himself and upwards. When his eyes landed on Eula observing them from the cliff, his eyes widened in shock before a grin came to his face. He then rushed into the battle himself... and started showing off as when Lumine was getting ready to take down another agent, Nintega came down in front of her and finished it off himself with a sword strike.
TheNintegaGuy: I'll save you, Lumine!
Lumine just grows a baffled look.
Lumine: Wha- You'll save?
Nintega then runs over to the Fatui Agent that Jordan was fighting as the Savior Knight was getting ready to take his shot, but not before Nintega hopped onto the Fatui's shoulders, baffling both of them.
TheNintegaGuy: Relax Jordan!
He said before doing a backflip and taking down the Fatui under him with a hard kick to the head.
TheNintegaGuy: You're safe now!
He then rushes away as Jordan smiles a little before realizing what just happened.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Thanks... Wait, I had him!
Shadow is then seen blocking a Fatui with a Geo wand as he pushes it back before Nintega shouts at him.
TheNintegaGuy: Shadow, behind you!
Shadow turns around, only to find himself staring at a tree behind himself making him raise an eyebrow.
Shadowlight2784: The tree?
However, he hears the sound of pummeling as he turns back around to see that Nintega had taken down the agent that he was confronting too. With that being the last of them, Nintega then does a couple of backflips before landing perfectly on his feet and he puts his sword away while smirking up towards Eula out of the corner of his eye. Eula couldn't tell if she was impressed or a little annoyed at Nintega showing off. Jordan saw the direction Nintega was looking as he followed his gaze for a brief moment to find Eula as well as she quickly disappeared the second that his eyes land on her. Meanwhile, the rest of the crew walked up to Nintega with looks of pure confusion.
Lumine: Umm... What the heck was that?
Paimon: Yeah, you trying to impress us?
Shadowlight2784: If that's the case, you don't need to, dude. We already know how skilled you are.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Oh, he was trying to impress someone alright, just not us.
He pointed out, getting everyone's attention.
Paimon: Huh? Who then, Jordan?
With a small smirk, Jordan brought his fingernails up and inspected them nonchalantly.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Oh, just a certain ice cold Spindrift Knight who happened to be watching us the whole time.
Lumine: Wait... you mean Eula?
She asked as she, Paimon, and Shadow now looked back at Nintega. As usual, their fearless leader tries to deny Jordan's claim as he just frowns at him.
TheNintegaGuy: I literally have no idea what you're talking about. Eula's not even around here. I'm pretty sure I would've noticed.
Not buying it at all, Jordan crossed his arms, still smirking.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Buddy, I literally just saw her up on that cliff. She had two other Knights of Favonius with her.
TheNintegaGuy: Okay, and let me ask you this: Do you still see them up there?
He asked, pointing up to the cliff as the rest of the group followed his finger.
Lumine: Well... he kinda does have a point. There's nobody there.
Shadowlight2784: Yeah, I feel like she would have stuck around for longer than that.
Paimon: You sure you didn't just make that up to embarrass Nintega, Jordan?
Jordanwolfboy9743: *sigh* No, I just saw her up-
He stopped right as he realized something, causing him to gain a confident smile.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Hang on. If you supposedly didn't see her, Nintega, how did you know which cliff she was watching from? I didn't specify where she was watching, so how did you guess that?
It would seem that he had made a good point there as Nintega's eyes widened and his cheeks started to turn pink.
TheNintegaGuy: W-We're in Stormbearer Mountains! T-This area is practically crawling with cliffs where anybody could be watching us!
Hearing that freaked Paimon out a bit as she looked all around in the area anxiously.
Paimon: Y-You mean, someone could be watching us there?! O-Or there?! Or even-
Lumine stopped her from freaking out by poking her with two fingers on her head. Paimon rubbed her head while deadpanning at Lumine.
Paimon: ...Ow! Why'd you have to do that to Paimon?!
Lumine: *deadpans* Do I even need to explain?
Shadowlight2784: A-ny-ways... Jordan still has a point, Nintega. I mean, you pointed to that one specifically, so you must have seen something.
TheNintegaGuy: I-I... I just... like pointing randomly?
Lumine: What kind of argument is that?
TheNintegaGuy: One that I wish that even I would believe...
A chuckle can be heard as they looked back at Jordan to see him shaking his head in amusement.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Oh, this is something you'll need to get used to when it comes to Nintega, Lu. You see, Mister Fearless Leader here physically can't admit when he's crushing over a girl, or as we call it...
He looks over at Shadow who gains a smirk almost instantly.
Shadowlight2784: Simping~
That was one word Nintega did not want to hear ever again as he facepalmed with a tick mark on his head.
TheNintegaGuy: Okay, even now... You guys like to use that term to describe me every time that I'm alone with a girl! And I'm just gonna say it like I always do every time back home... I... AM NOT A SIMP!!
In response, Jordan and Shadow looked at each other for a second before bursting out into hysterical laughter while Lumine and Paimon looked quite confused.
Lumine: Uhhh... is this like a running gag between you boys or something?
Paimon: Also... what's a "simp?"
Shadowlight2784: I can humbly explain. It's a term that most of us along with our friends get from some entertainment that we found. It symbolizes someone who, for lack of a better term, often sadly or pathetically tries warming up to someone they really like, usually in a way to try and receive romantic feelings from them.
Jordanwolfboy9743: In this case, you two wanna know why Nintega was going harder than normal during our fight just now? Well, as I said, Eula was watching and Nintega saw her, so he tried showing off in order to impress her.
Lumine and Paimon's eyes widened from this before they slowly gained the same sly smirks that Jordan and Shadow were wearing as they looked towards Nintega who was already bracing himself for what words they have for him.
Paimon: Ohhhhh~ That makes so much more sense~
Lumine: Definitely explains why he's been going out on nearly every excursion with her every chance he gets~
TheNintegaGuy: Hey, I just need a little action to get my blood pumping alright?!
Jordanwolfboy9743: *playful sarcasm* Right, because that's the only thing that "gets your blood pumping," correct~?
Nintega obviously knew what Jordan meant by that as his face turned red with an extremely flustered look.
TheNintegaGuy: D-Dude! What the- Wh-Why?!?
Shadowlight2784: Uhh... because you brought it on yourself? Just an educated guess~
TheNintegaGuy: *sigh* Just when I thought I'd escape this kind of teasing while we're in Mondstadt... I never wanted to hear that word again...
Paimon: What? What's wrong with it? It describes you perfectly~
TheNintegaGuy: No! It does not! As the leader of this group, it's my job to remain the most vigilant and composed out of the rest of us!
Lumine: And is that what you're doing now, especially with this going on~?
She gestures to Nintega's red hot face.
TheNintegaGuy: W-Why yes! J-Just part of a routine that I've adopted! It's called "Dealing with your teammates' BS!" Also... you pretty much just gestured to all of me!
Jordanwolfboy9743: Of course! Because all of you defines one word~
Nintega knew what he was about to say as he plugs in both of his ears with his fingers.
TheNintegaGuy: Don't say it! Don't say it! Don't say it!
Once again, Jordan looks at Shadow and nods as he got one right back before they stood next to each other, cleared their throats, and bellowed it out in their best singing voices.
Jordan & Shadow: ♪ Siiiiiiimp! ♪
Even with his ears plugged in, Nintega could still hear them as he yelled in frustration before he pulls his hood over his head and walks away in the opposite direction while the rest of the crew was just laughing so much at Nintega's embarrassment.
Wanting some time alone from his friends so that they can forget about what happened along with himself, Nintega decided to take a small rest at Falcon Coast as he was laying his back on a rock with his legs straight out on the sand. It wasn't until the swift sound of the wind caught Nintega's attention as he wakes up before pulling out his sword in case it was a Hilichurl or Slime.
However, he looks behind himself and up again to see Eula once again looking down at him as Nintega sighs in relief before getting a small smirk on his face.
TheNintegaGuy: How did I know that you would show up eventually?
Eula stands there with crossed arms, looking at Nintega with a peeved look in her eye.
Eula: You know why I am here, don't you? You didn't heed my previous warning about stealing my targets from me.
TheNintegaGuy: Hm? Oh, those Fatui agents? Yeah... sorry not sorry. You know... if you really wanted to fight alongside me, you could always just ask instead of just enjoying the show... Or were you studying me to know exactly what your next plan of attack on me is going to be?
Eula: What I personally plan to do is none of your concern. The only thing you should worry about is how I plan to enact my vengeance upon you for this transgression you've committed.
TheNintegaGuy: Oh, trust me. Now that I know that I'm on your mind again, I'm definitely keeping a close eye out for that.
The next thing Eula did was take out her claymore, giving it a few spins in her hands before aiming the tip at Nintega.
Eula: Tell me, how shall you receive your punishment?
TheNintegaGuy: Heh, and I'm assuming just letting me go is off the table?
Eula: Hmph. Maybe you're smarter than I've given you credit for.
TheNintegaGuy: Ouch! That hurts me!
He said before rushing forward with the power of Anemo to increase his speed as he ran up the wall before coming down above Eula with an overhead strike to which she easily blocks. She pushes Nintega back for him to do a backflip and when he landed Eula came in with a couple of sword strikes herself as when most of them came into contact with Nintega's blade, he was having trouble keeping the sword in his hand due to how big Eula's claymore was.
He ducks under one sword swing before taking two jabs at Eula before both of their swords collided with each other. They were in the middle of a standoff testing each other's strength as it ended up with them glaring at each other dead center in the eyes as Nintega kept his smirk on his face, enjoying every moment of this sparring battle. As they were pushing their weapons against each other, they both ended up walking around in a circle before finally Eula pushed Nintega away for him to roll backwards, but Eula kicks him away once again for Nintega to land flat on his back.
Before Nintega could even think about standing back up, he already had a foot down on his torso and a large claymore pointed at his face.
Eula: Accept your punishment like a good little boy.
Nintega however scowls before gripping his sword handle and he leg sweeps Eula before elbowing her in the torso allowing him to stand back up and now Eula had a sword pointed at her.
Eula: Hmph. Guess I struck a nerve.
TheNintegaGuy: *scoffs* Because I beat you?
He hesitated and that gave Eula the perfect opportunity to rush forward, grab Nintega by the collar, surprising him, pointing her claymore at him before letting him go, but still had her weapon pointed into him.
Eula: I think you are fundamentally mistaken on who has beaten whom here.
TheNintegaGuy: Heh, the way I see it, the fight's not over yet until I can't hold up my sword anymore, so come on, Miss Spindrift Knight. Show me what you got!
He said before leaping up into the air infusing Anemo-energy into his sword. Eula sees this with a raised eyebrow before she stabs her claymore into the ground and summons out another sword made of pure Cryo energy as when Nintega came down with his sword, Eula placed her guard up and when Nintega took a strike at Eula's Cryo sword, he got staggered as the impact made him flinch a lot more and this gave Eula the opening to pick up her normal claymore back up and knock Nintega's sword out of his hand. Nintega was shocked to see this before looking back towards Eula who had her eyes narrowed at him.
TheNintegaGuy: Aw, man... Again?!
A proud smirk makes its way onto Eula's lips as she melted away her Cryo sword and took her real one back into her grip.
Eula: For someone who's been training for the past few months now, you still seem to lack control and discipline.
TheNintegaGuy: If we're talking about my sword, then we'll just say that I was holding back... Though if you're talking about me personally, that's a part of my charm that I can't take out of myself even if I wanted to.
He then walks over to pick his sword back up and puts it away as Eula did the same with her weapon.
TheNintegaGuy: As much as I enjoyed that a lot, I know you a lot better than that considering how many times we've teamed up, Eula. You didn't just come here to enact your usual vengeance on me. Why suddenly search for me out of the blue? Did you actually need something from me... *smirks* or did you just want to see me~?
He gets a scoff from her as she looks away.
Eula: You are mistaken. There's nothing more to it than that, so I suggest that you let it go.
Nintega playfully rolls his eyes from Eula trying to dodge the question.
TheNintegaGuy: Come on. You know I'm not that gullible. I was able to see right through you during our mission with the Fatui last time, so I definitely know there's another reason this time. I mean, you look at Jordan as if he's something you scraped off the bottom of your shoe, but with me? I'm not sure what to think.
Eula grew a more irritated expression and aimed it right at Nintega.
Eula: I'm serious, Hero Knight. You better drop it.
TheNintegaGuy: Drop what? Do you like me or somethi-
The pointy end of Eula's claymore was instantly pointed directly in front of his face before he could even finish his question as a few drops of sweat could be seen on his forehead.
TheNintegaGuy: Or... you can explain it in your words. That works for me too.
Eula nods and moves her sword away.
Eula: Good. Now, with your questions over and done with, I believe it's about time for mine. Care to explain why you went so tryhard during the last moments of your fight with the Fatui? It seemed as though your teammates were already handling it fairly well before you got carried away.
Tables have turned as Eula has now asked Nintega a question that he doesn't want to tell the whole truth to.
TheNintegaGuy: I mean... you know me. I can't resist a good challenge. Even if I was a little carried away, it was a win-win for me and them.
Eula: Still, it seemed a little out of nowhere, even for you.
TheNintegaGuy: How is defending my friends and loving action out of place for me exactly?
Eula: They didn't seem to appreciate it afterwards, so even they found your behavior to be strange.
Nintega flinched a little from that as he could've sworn Eula disappeared after they took care of the Fatui agents.
TheNintegaGuy: Wait, you were STILL spying on us after that?!
Eula: Of course. You and your merry band of honorary misfits tend to get distracted after the battle is over, so naturally, I had to make sure no reinforcements could get the jump on you.
TheNintegaGuy: Hey! I'm sure we would've-
However, Nintega heard the second part of that sentence and a small smirk came to his face.
TheNintegaGuy: Wait, so you were worried about us?
Eula: Of course not! It would just have been a waste to leave so suddenly after you decided to steal my targets once again. I share no concern with an adversary of mine.
TheNintegaGuy: Translation: I was worried about you guys because you're my friends. *chuckles*
Another scoff came from Eula as she aimed her now slightly blushing face away from him.
Eula: D-Do not misinterpret what I say! Consider that to be yet another cause for vengeance!
TheNintegaGuy: *chuckles* This small talk is going nowhere...
Nintega then decided to think of something that neither of them would consider embarrassing to speak about and sure enough there was a topic that Nintega thought of that he could speak about to Eula.
TheNintegaGuy: Hey, Eula. I've told you a little bit about my life from back home where me, Jordan, and Shadow come from, but... I never got to hear much about how you were with the Lawrence Clan. What was life for you back then? What made you want to leave? What... made you become the Spindrift Knight that you are now?
That was certainly a question, Eula was not expecting to be asked so suddenly as her eyes widened before looking away clearly not sure if she's entirely comfortable with telling it. However, she was able to trust Nintega considering that aside from Amber, he's the only other one she would walk up and speak to without a problem. Eula decides to sit down criss-cross with her arms crossed as well as Nintega decided to do the same as he sat down beside her.
Eula: I can start by saying this. My aristocratic etiquette is all just for show... Just smile and nod along! I was forced to learn all of the rules by heart, but even I don't take them that seriously.
TheNintegaGuy: I did hear your uncle say that you despised your aristocratic language from your former heritage. If you were forced to learn all of that, how can living like a high noble in the Lawrence Clan be pleasant to everyone else?
Eula: The life of a Lawrence doesn't include much worth talking about... Basically, whatever you say, whatever you do, people will always despise you and treat you like a potential threat to society. It's nowhere near as bad as it used to be, though. Before I'd joined the Knights, good grief... I couldn't even buy groceries.
TheNintegaGuy: Wait... they hated you that much?!
Eula: The name Lawrence only became a social stigma after the clan fell from grace. It was once an honor to be called a Lawrence, but unfortunately, most people have forgotten about that part of history.
TheNintegaGuy: That... or they just choose to forget.
Eula: Well, you certainly can't choose to forget the past, no matter how many times you try.
TheNintegaGuy: What do you mean?
Eula looks down and Nintega could definitely tell that she had a more solemn look on her face.
Eula: It's all connected to you... From birth up to now, so you see. That's how it would be impossible to forget.
https://youtu.be/rCLekTzKUrw
Eula looks at the water ahead of her on the coast as she suddenly gains a flashback of her memories before she came to Mondstadt and became who she was now.
(Flashback)
As Eula stated, she was pretty much the heir of the Lawrence Clan which meant that being born from a family with that status was practically a miracle to the entire clan. A baby girl with a strand of light blue is seen wrapped in a blanket around so many people as it was crying while the group gathered around her were just happy to see Eula being born into the world.
While her birth seemed cheerful, her childhood was not. As an heir, Eula was forced into taking classes at her home that involved many of the Lawrence Clan's traditions such as etiquette, dance, swordplay, and more. It was rather strict teaching too as when Eula even messed up, she would be scolded heavily.
Practically the only person she could speak her mind to was her maid as whenever Eula said anything about her day whether it was vulgar to her culture or not, the maid would listen intently and not complain at all. She was in fact glad that Eula was able to have someone different like her to speak to aside from everyone.
Wanting to do something aside from her normal abusive routines that her family puts her through everyday. Eula decided to bake a cake all my herself and she showed it to her maid who was impressed at Eula. However, she had showed her at the wrong time as her father had saw this and came in to scold both of them.
Encouraging Eula to do such hobbies actually caused Eula's maid to be fired and sent away from the Lawrence residence causing the young Eula to cry and complain to her father about them sending their maid away like that, especially she was Eula's only friend. Her talking back only earned her a slap to the face and she was locked up back into her room as punishment.
Eula was mad, but also very depressed as she looked out of a window to see lots of other people her age, aside from her, who were mingling and enjoying every minute of their company.
Her adolescent years weren't so great either as she was forced to wear formal dresses whenever she was walking around the Lawrence residence now. One day, when she was being taught, she noticed that they were explaining the Dance of Sacrifice which was a Lawrence dance tradition and Eula was actually interested in it. So interested, that would practice the dance often during the evening on her own and she found it quite relaxing as it would put her mind at ease.
Though this did not stop her from hating her already tedious pleasantries from her family as when she attended gatherings with her nobles, she would always have a frown upon her face. One day though, a ball rolled up to her feet and she looked to the side to see that it was a young girl, almost her age responsible for it, and she was a commoner. The girl thought that Eula would point her nose up in the air and ignore her, but instead Eula picks up the ball and kindly hands it back to the girl with a smile.
The girl was astonished by Eula's kindness that she offered her friendship to Eula and of course Eula didn't deny it for a second. Skipping her family's demands again, she would pick flowers with other girls lower in status than her, offer food to young children who could reach fruit off of trees, and even considered underage drinking at one point as well as she really wanted to know how beer and wine tasted.
However, just like with her maid, this didn't last long either as her family found out and dragged Eula away from the commoners to be punished again for her actions. Eula just couldn't get away from being a Lawrence no matter how much she wanted to. That is until one night, she thought to herself and realized that she had a path of freedom to choose and she gets to decide who she wants to be.
Eula had finally had enough of her status as a Lawrence as she would talk back to others who judged her opinions, she cut her hair into what it is today, and ran away from home. She wanted to become a brand new person that she wants to choose to be.
Her journey ended up at none other than the city of Mondstadt as she wanted to walk into the city and be seen as somebody new. However, of course that wasn't the case at all as the moment she takes even a single stroll through the streets of Mondstadt. All eyes were on her and the moment that people around the town noticed her Lawrence crest on her clothes, they would either glare daggers at Eula, turn away, or even gossip on what a member of the tyrannical Lawrence Clan is even doing in Mondstadt.
Eula could practically feel all of the venom being shot at her, but that didn't stop her from at least trying to make an effort. She tried greeting people or even tried buying food from the shops, but they wouldn't even dare say a word or offer her anything due to their prejudice regarding the Lawrence Clan. It was clear that Eula was not welcome in Mondstadt as she scowled while turning away back the way that she came.
She had to consider camping to be her only form of survival for a while as she was resting herself at the large tree over at Windrise, looking at the city of Mondstadt from afar. Eula buries her head into her knees, not knowing how she's going to start anew if everyone hates her for only her family name. Well... all but one...
A shadow casted over Eula as she looks up and sees none other than the Acting Grand Master herself, Jean Gunnhildr. She gave Eula a look that was not of hostility, but rather of sympathy. She decided to test Eula by challenging her to a small duel of swordsmanship. Admiring her skills, Jean opening welcomes Eula into the city of Mondstadt as she pleases, surprising the outcast. Eula bowed down to Jean in respect before the Gunnhildr clan leader offered her hand to Eula and Eula gently took it.
Many months later, Eula had not only had a slight change of view from the people of Mondstadt, but she also made friends including Amber, Klee, Kaeya, and even Lisa. People were gathered around the Knights of Favonius headquarters as Jean had announced that Eula was their new Knight of Favonius known as the Spindrift Knight.
Inside, Eula had on her present day leotard and was taking a deep breath as she remembers who she formerly was all of those years ago with her former family, but the moment that she steps out of that door, she will become a brand new person.
And so she did, as she walked out of the Knights of Favonius headquarters entrance with everybody watching her as she just had her normal stoic look. That is until she hears another person calling her name, she looks to the side... to see that it was the maid that took care of her as a child as she had become a resident of Mondstadt as well.
Eula saw this with so much shock on her face that she started tearing up and cried of pure happiness as she wiped them out of her eyes. She then looks ahead to see Amber gesturing for her to join her along with the other Knights of Favonius. Eula just smiled as this was a brand new life that she wanted and she couldn't be happier that she chose this path instead of her former one.
(End of Flashback)
Back in the present, Eula is seen sniffling a little as a tear escapes one of her eyes. Right beside her, a fingerless gloved hand reaches around Eula's shoulders before Nintega places it on her. Nintega couldn't help but feel so bad for how much Eula went through when she was young, but was also amazed at how dedicated she was with taking a brand new path instead.
TheNintegaGuy: Eula...
She turns her head a bit to look at Nintega and at least make some eye contact with him.
TheNintegaGuy: I'm sorry for what your family put you through when you were younger. I definitely meant it when I said that you out of all people in Mondstadt deserve freedom. I mean... That's what Mondstadt is supposed to symbolize, isn't it? It's not called the City of Freedom for nothing, after all. Honestly, it really isn't fair that you still have to deal with disapproving people, maybe not from your family anymore, but now from some of the citizens.
Eula: People tell me that if I just spoke more softly, or was more polite, or acted more deferentially, others may find it easier to forgive me, but the only reason they think that way is because they've never been branded a pariah before. There is no easy path to redemption when you're a social pariah. I'm more inclined to stop tiptoeing around everyone all the time and just get out there and make them respect me the old-fashioned way! As in, we square off and if they win, I humbly accept my punishment, but if they lose, they must acquiesce to my demands... Such as... Well, I mean, if I want to buy a loaf of bread, take my darn money, for crying out loud!
TheNintegaGuy: Trust me, if I were around before you became a Knight of Favonius, you'd get a lot more respect than you already do.
Eula giggles a little from this while crossing her arms and looking out on the coast again.
Eula: Curious... You and I aren't so different. We're both outsiders from Mondstadt. Difference is, Mondstadt welcomes you with open arms, but they treat me with hostility and suspicion.
TheNintegaGuy: Well... I don't, despite knowing where you came from or what your family's known for. Sure, I may not have been around for as long as the people of Mondstadt have, but I can still see a good person when I meet one, and you're one of them, Eula. You're one of the most physically and mentally strongest people I've met in a long time.
Eula blushes from Nintega's words while turning her head away to hide her red face.
Eula: I... umm... *clears throat* Your kind words are much appreciated, Nintega...
Seeing Eula blush and not even move away from any contact from him was enough to tell Nintega that he believes that he has found the answer that he had been looking for earlier. He decides it would be no better time than now to ask her as he himself blushes as well.
TheNintegaGuy: Hey, Eula. Do you mind if I ask you something else? Only if you're mentally prepared for what it is though.
Eula: Are you underestimating my ability to take even the most sensitive of questions? Especially now that I have told you one of my secrets?
TheNintegaGuy: ...Maybe~
Eula: Hmph. I'll be sure to remember this transgression. I can take whatever you-
TheNintegaGuy: Do you love me, Eula?
...
...
...
...
...
Not a word from Eula after that. Not even a sound came from her as she silently stared at Nintega. It was so bad that he could hear the ringing in his ears aside from the occasional sound of the small tides washing up the coast. This led Nintega into thinking that he may have overstepped when it came to his question and a part of him wanted to backpedal and he might have had it not been for Eula finally finding her voice.
Eula: L-L-Love... you?
All Nintega just does is respond with a nod and a small smile. Eula's face was so red that she was having trouble finding the right words to respond with.
Eula: Wh-What kind of odd question i-is that?! I-I don't like, b-but I also don't dislike you... o-or maybe I-I...
She groaned while grabbing both sides of her head.
Eula: Argh! H-How do you even expect me to answer that!?
TheNintegaGuy: *chuckles* Maybe like this?
He then did something Eula was not able to see coming as he grabbed both of her cheeks and proceeded to kiss her on the lips. Eula stared at Nintega with widened eyes and her hands tried to act on instinct and push him off, but try as she might, she wasn't able to succeed in her efforts. Before long, she found herself slowly closing her eyes that now had tiny hearts in them as well and her hands slowly traveled up to caress both of Nintega's cheeks.
Both of them held this passionate kiss for a while, not exchanging saliva or even wrestling tongues, just keeping their lips pressed together. Even so, Nintega could tell that Eula was wearing some lip gloss during the kiss which made it all the more enjoyable for him to savor the moment. Eventually they both started running out of air and separated from each other. Both of them had red blushes on their faces as Nintega just smirks at Eula.
TheNintegaGuy: Hehe... See? I knew you loved me.
Yet another blush overtook Eula's face as she pouted and looked away.
Eula: I-I do not! I-I just... felt that it would be rude to pull away, so I allowed it to carry on until you were finished!
She then poked his chest with a finger.
Eula: Y-You will pay for springing that on me without asking, by the way!
TheNintegaGuy: *scoffs* Like you can take vengeance on me from something like a surprise kiss.
That definitely struck a nerve on Eula as she stood back up with a glare while putting both of her hands on her hips.
Eula: Is that a challenge?!
TheNintegaGuy: *smirks* For you, maybe~
Eula: W-Why you-! *growls* Fine then! My vengeance upon you shall arrive right this moment!
TheNintegaGuy: Pfft! Yeah, ri-
He was suddenly grabbed by the collar thanks to Eula and she yanked him closer to her face before she gave him a cold stare... and then followed that up with a surprise kiss of her own!
Unlike the first one, this kiss was a little more intimate as Nintega wrapped his arms around Eula's back causing the Spindrift Knight to moan a little during the kiss. They both then allowed each other's tongues to enter their mouths as they wrestled while exchanging saliva. Nintega could almost feel himself run out of air during this aggressive kiss as he was about to push himself away from Eula, but clearly Eula knew that they both needed some oxygen as she let go of Nintega and they both broke apart from each other.
TheNintegaGuy: *panting* Okay... I... stand... corrected.
Eula: *panting* There... how... do you... like it?
She asked, pushing him away a bit as Nintega finally caught his breath while smirking at Eula.
TheNintegaGuy: It still proves my point nonetheless.
Eula just narrows her eyes at Nintega.
Eula: Oh, wipe that smug grin off of your face... I still don't understand you.
TheNintegaGuy: Heh. What's there to not understand about me, Eula?
The Spindrift Knight's eyes went down to the ground for a moment before going back up to Nintega.
Eula: How... could you even... love someone like me?
She asked, sounding more genuine this time.
TheNintegaGuy: Cause like everyone else that we're close with... aside from Jordan that is... I understand you, Eula. And it's not just about you wanting to abandon your clan. I think you're pretty awesome yourself. I always love challenges and action, so I feel encouraged every time you tell me that you seek revenge on me. I mean, you always act like you hold a grudge against others, but I'm smart enough to see how kind you really are.
Eula: Hey! Who said I was acting?
TheNintegaGuy: I did. I know that your whole "vengeance will be mine" schtick is a way for you to cover up who you really are deep down. You're afraid of being seen as vulnerable around people, thus you've adopted this tough girl attitude to hide your insecurities from others, but... I'm here to tell you that... you can be vulnerable around me, Eula.
He puts his hand on top of hers, gripping it gently. Eula could only respond with pure silence, widened eyes, and another blush on her face as it's given her an even bigger reason on why she likes, or in this case, loves Nintega. Even now, Eula couldn't show her true emotions as she just looks away in a pout.
Eula: ...Pointless. You think I'm some kind of tender soul?
TheNintegaGuy: Inside of that sentence, oh yeah.
Eula: Hmph. This is just like when we first met... You gave me so many reasons to take vengeance upon you, even now.
TheNintegaGuy: *chuckles* I guess your new archenemy is practically your boyfriend then.
In response to that last part, Eula raises an unamused eyebrow at him.
Eula: Boyfriend? Isn't that moving it a little too fast?
TheNintegaGuy: *smirks* Not really. We made out with each other twice and it'd definitely be a lie for you to say that you didn't enjoy it~
Eula: Don't try to twist the story. My kiss was revenge due to yours.
TheNintegaGuy: Does that really change anything though?
Eula: It... *sigh* Please, stop trying to confuse me any further than you already have.
TheNintegaGuy: I'm just pointing out what we are. You're the one choosing to overthink and make excuses, young lady.
Eula: Wha- I am taller than you!
TheNintegaGuy: And almost the same age as I am~
Eula: I swear, do not make me exact more vengeance upon you, Hero Knight!
TheNintegaGuy: *chuckles* No promises.
He said before reaching out to wrap his arms around Eula into giving her a big hug.
TheNintegaGuy: Eula... I love you... Just always remember that when you're taking revenge on me.
Eula stood still for a second before she found herself smiling a little as well while slowly wrapping her arms around Nintega as well.
Eula: *sigh* If... If you insist upon it, I... suppose I can love you as well, Nintega.
Both of them held this hug for a moment before they both broke apart from it while smiling at each other.
TheNintegaGuy: So, does the illustrious Spindrift Knight need an escort back to Mondstadt from here?
Eula: Are you saying that I'm so weak that I need you to babysit me? Hmph. I'll definitely remember this.
Nintega chuckled before taking Eula's hand into his and they both made their way back to Mondstadt. As a brand new couple, they were both more than happy to say that they are glad that they confessed to each other.
Throughout the rest of the day, Nintega and Eula spent their time with each other alone as they both just decided to spend the evening at Angel's Share. Eula didn't want to admit it, but she was happy enough that she didn't want to get herself drunk for the evening. The very next day, during the afternoon when Nintega finished doing another mission for Jean, he is seen walking around the northern parts of Mondstadt with a happy smile as he couldn't stop thinking about Eula being his girlfriend now. However, his thoughts were interrupted when he noticed the old man, Goth, approaching him.
Goth: Pardon me, aren't you that young fellow that helped out with someone's rent recently?
TheNintegaGuy: Um, yeah. That's me. What seems to be the trouble?
Goth: Well, this... I wouldn't call it "an urgent matter," but it is getting out of hand for sure... As you know, those Fatui have my hotel fully booked. And as you know, I, as the boss of the Goth Grand Hotel, have to attend to them. I coordinate food catering, repairs, and a slew of miscellaneous matters besides.
TheNintegaGuy: Geez, you definitely have your work cut out for you old man.
Goth: Lately, some rooms have had their furniture damaged, so I've had to contact people to bring the appropriate timber to some carpenters. Then there's the matter of collecting rent on a few apartments... and the matter of my lad Marvin being nowhere to be found. *sigh* I wonder how long I can last... Or when that boy will finally grow up...
TheNintegaGuy: If it's wood that you're looking for, I could lend a hand.
Goth: Really? Oh, wonderful. All I need are some Fir Wood and Birch Wood. I'll need to have them sent to the carpenters soon.
TheNintegaGuy: You're in luck actually...
Nintega then reaches into his pockets and pulls out a couple of logs of wood that were exactly what Goth needed as he handed them over to the elderly owner of the hotel.
TheNintegaGuy: The Acting Grand Master sent me on a mission earlier today, I happened to catch some common treasures out in Mondstadt. Some pieces of wood happened to be one of them.
Goth: Thank you so much. These should do. Now to send them off to the carpenter... Oh. Right! I need to collect rent as well... *sigh* I just wonder if that... As... Astronoma, or whatever she was called, will be in this time...
Nintega knew instantly about who he was talking about as he gets a raised eyebrow.
TheNintegaGuy: Wait. You mean Mona? I thought I already paid most of her rent.
Goth: Oh, yes you did indeed. It is just that I haven't received the clarifications documents regarding the rent from her yet. All my other tenants have already paid theirs. She's the only one left. I came by a few times previously, but she wasn't in.
TheNintegaGuy: (...Or she was in and was a little too focused on her own work to notice...) I'm actually her disciple regarding astrology purposes, so I should be able to tell her about the issue. I'll make sure it gets handled as quickly as possible.
Goth gives Nintega a grateful nod before Nintega rushes down into the nearby houses in the city as he jogged around to the exact house that Mona was renting in Mondstadt. Lucky for him, he had caught Mona just leaving her home as Nintega called out for her.
TheNintegaGuy: Mona!
The esteemed astrologist turned to see Nintega jogging towards her.
Mona: Ah, it's you, Nintega. It's been a while.
She greeted him before taking notice of Nintega's panting from the jog.
Mona: Strange, you seem to be in a hurry. Were you looking for me, by any chance?
TheNintegaGuy: As a matter of fact, I was. You've been away for quite a while. A couple of days exactly. Where have you been?
Mona: A few days ago, The Steambird sent me a request for a new manuscript. The topic in question was "celestial shifts and their relation to a person's changing fates." As such, I have largely been out studying the stars these past couple of days, only returning well after dark.
TheNintegaGuy: (Phew... Okay, so she's been working for some more Mora...)
However, what Mona said next was about to change Nintega's opinion of what exactly she was collecting the Mora for.
Mona: There's this new celestial globe from Fontaine that I've put down an order for. I've even paid the deposit already.
Nintega just shoots Mona a slightly baffled look.
Mona: Once I get the Mora from submitting this manuscript, I should be able to settle the balance and claim the celestial globe.
TheNintegaGuy: ...Well, don't forget another manuscript regarding your rent that I generously paid for you.
Confused, Mona tilted her head slightly to the side.
Mona: Rent?
TheNintegaGuy: *sigh* You know? The thing I've been paying off for you this whole time? The thing you kinda need to pay in order to continue living here?
His brief explanation managed to jog Mona's memory, causing her eyes to widen in realization.
Mona: O-Oh, of course. I still have those documents, don't I? Wait here.
Mona then runs back inside of her laboratory while Nintega patiently waits by her door for her to search through her belongings so that she'll be able to pay the rent that was due soon. After a quick second, Mona came back outside with a rolled up piece of paper as she handed it over to Nintega.
Mona: Right then. Help me pass this over to Goth, would you my disciple?
TheNintegaGuy: No problem at all.
He pocketed the documents before getting an idea in his head.
TheNintegaGuy: It's still early in the afternoon and I haven't seen you for quite some time. You wanna maybe... walk around and chat for a bit?
Mona: *smiles* Alright, I'm in good spirits. I'm not particularly busy either, so I'll take you up on that offer.
Nintega grins back as the two of them just begin to stroll around the plaza in Mondstadt together and Nintega couldn't help, but keep his eyes on Mona the entire time they were walking together as it kind of felt like they were on a date, even though they're not together yet.
Mona: So, is there anything you wish to know?
TheNintegaGuy: I guess I'm eager to learn a little bit more of your knowledge.
Mona: Oh, how studious of you. I am indisputably an erudite scholar, for my learning encompasses the stars above and earth below ...But it would consume a considerable amount of time to explain the tenets of astrology... For now, some practical advice will do!
TheNintegaGuy: Sure, I mean... you've traveled a lot, so you must have a lot of life experience as an astrologist.
Mona: Well, of course! Hmm... For instance, ingredients approaching their expiration date can be used to create very cost-effective meals as long as you thoroughly cook them with the appropriate cooking methods.
Nintega's excited grin slowly faded a bit as that wasn't particularly what he had in mind.
Mona: Many stores have monthly sales. Find an opportune time to stock up on grains and dried foods. As staple foods, they will keep you feeling full for a long time.
Nintega then frowned as this had nothing to do with astrology advice in life. It was literally just things you would do to make saving money easier.
Mona: Also... Processing your own meat products is much cheaper than buying them ready-made.
Mona then finally takes notice of Nintega's deadpan expression as his reaction was not what she was anticipating after that explanation.
Mona: What? What's that face for?
TheNintegaGuy: ...You literally just described how to save money. I-I mean... y-your life knowledge is pretty much just saving money in general.
Mona felt a little offended by this claim, stuttering a bit.
Mona: Wha- H-Huh! H-How impolite of you to generalize it as such!
TheNintegaGuy: *sigh* I'm sorry, Mona, but... I just thought that you'd discuss more about... well, you know, how to become an astrologist and what not.
Mona: These are one of the most crucial key aspects of being a disciplined astrologist! These techniques are also all a crucial element of living a disciplined life. They are the result of refinement of the objective laws of the world. S—So I'll be stricter with you. You need to be more disciplined if you are to understand this world's truths!
Suddenly, a loud growl from a certain someone's stomach was heard again as Nintega couldn't help but be a little surprised to see that Mona was starving herself again, but then again, she's gone many days without meals, so it was not that shocking either.
TheNintegaGuy: And I suppose being "disciplined" also means starving yourself? Don't tell me that all of that time away, you barely ate anything again.
Mona: I-I... I'm not going to dignify that with a response...
That was not a very subtle answer as Nintega took that as a big yes before getting a serious look on his face as he can't let Mona keep trying to harm herself like this just to try and look high and mighty. Nintega suddenly grabs Mona's wrist and drags her along with him.
TheNintegaGuy: That's it! You're coming with me!
Mona: U-Unhand me this instant, disciple! I am not in a craving mood!
Once again, her stomach betrayed her by growling loudly, leading to her sighing and facepalming.
Mona: *mumbles* Curse you, basic bodily functions.
Nintega had dragged Mona all the way to Good Hunter as similarly to when they first met, Nintega had planned on treating both himself and Mona to a large and sufficient meal that will fill them for the day.
TheNintegaGuy: You need to eat something, Mona! Like it or not, I'll be the one to take care of you for today.
Mona: *sighs* Fine. I already know what I want anyway, so I won't be needing a menu.
TheNintegaGuy: And what's that?
Mona: Just some rice.
Nintega facepalms with a small groan as he couldn't believe how stubborn Mona was to hold onto her pride.
TheNintegaGuy: (...I love this woman... but even she has some aspects of her that can be infuriating...)
He takes a seat and gives the menu a lookover just before Sara appeared before them.
Sara: Welcome to Good Hunter, Hero Knight. Oh, and Miss Megistus too?
She leans down to Nintega's level, smirking before whispering to him.
Sara: *whisper* I take it that this is a date~?
Nintega's face went pink from this question as he grows flustered.
TheNintegaGuy: *whisper* N-No! I-It's well... S-Sort of! I-I just... brought her here to teach her a very important lesson!
Sara just giggles at Nintega's reaction before standing back up.
Sara: I'm just teasing you. You two are pretty close with each other, so you can't blame me for wanting to just make a little joke.
She opens her notebook and readies a quill.
Sara: So, what can I get for you two today?
Considering that she already knew what she wanted, Mona looked ahead over at Nintega.
Mona: Since I'm already prepared, you can go first. Take your time.
That was a big mistake to ask on her part as Nintega smirks a little before turning to Sara and giving an order that Mona was not expecting.
TheNintegaGuy: What we both want is an order of Sticky Honey Roast and a Sweet Madame too.
Mona's eyes widened in pure shock from Nintega's order as Sara smiled before writing both orders down.
Sara: I'm on it!
She said before turning away and all Mona could do was glare at Nintega for changing up her order.
Mona: E-Excuse me! Wh-Why would you order two of the largest things on the menu?!
TheNintegaGuy: Because I know for a fact that a simple bowl of rice isn't gonna get you through the day, Mona. Besides, it's about time you left Good Hunter stuffed and satisfied. All that I've been seeing you eat here is salads. While nutritious... not particularly something that'll fatten you up.
Mona: I-I have no need for extravagance! When she comes back, I'll be telling her to change it! A-And to be honest... I don't have the Mora to pay for all of that.
TheNintegaGuy: Exactly! Which is why this time, I'M going to be the one paying for our meals.
Mona's jaw practically hit the floor upon hearing that.
Mona: W-What?! B-But you've paid so much for me already!
TheNintegaGuy: *chuckles* I know, I know, but I'm the kind of guy who's willing to help those who really need it... *smirks* even if they don't always put their pride away and ask for it.
Mona: Wh-Where do you even get the Mora for all of this? I understand that you work with the Knights of Favonius and sometimes the Adventurer's Guild, but to have such a bountiful source of income is extraordinary!
TheNintegaGuy: Well, that, and not to mention I'm one of the biggest heroes of Mondstadt, so that rather pays out well.
Mona: W-Well, I... can't say I'm surprised. You are a... talented leader as people often say. Though I don't possess your desire for large amounts of Mora, I can admire your hard work.
Nintega smiles and blushes a bit from Mona's compliment. Soon enough, Sara arrives back with both large meals for the two of them. Nintega grins at the prepared food for them while Mona was just taking in the delectable smell from both of them.
Mona: *sigh* *murmurs* Such... a wonderful aroma.
Even though she said that in a low voice, Nintega still heard it as he smiled to himself. While she tried to resist, Mona knew that her stomach had the stronger will here, so she reluctantly began to dine on her lunch, picking it apart piece by piece and consuming every bite. Not wanting his own dish to get cold, Nintega gave Mona one more smile before digging into his own meal as well. This went on for about thirty minutes to an hour before they finally finished.
Nintega sat with a satisfied grin, using a toothpick to pick at his teeth. Mona had a bright grin herself as she would definitely be lying to herself to say that she didn't enjoy that at all. She looked over at Nintega with a small embarrassed blush on her face.
Mona: I... have to thank you again. For accompanying me from the start, taking time out of your day to come see me time and time again, and even treating me to meals like this. Oh! And I also thank you for allowing me to pay you back for this.
Nintega took in most of those compliments until the last one as he just aimed a raised eyebrow at Mona.
TheNintegaGuy: Who said you're paying me back for this?
Mona: Yes! Of course I'll be paying you back for this! I don't know when or how, but I will find a way to repay you! You'll see! You may have a large abundance of Mora, but I have-
She then hears a loud obnoxious yawn coming from Nintega which makes her glare at him.
Mona: A-Are you ignoring me?!
TheNintegaGuy: I'm not taking your Mora...
Mona: What do you mean, you won't take my Mora!?
Mona pouted from this before turning her head away from Nintega while crossing her arms.
Mona: Hmph. Fine then. Be that way. Next time, I pay for you, I won't allow you to pay me back either.
Nintega playfully rolls his eyes with a smile.
TheNintegaGuy: Alright... Deal. Though don't come complaining to me when you run out of money.
Nintega chuckles a little more before getting an idea in his head as all of this talk about Mora had made him forget some astrology questions that he wanted to ask Mona as he scoots his chair closer to the astrologist.
TheNintegaGuy: I'm curious. You were able to see past deception and see that we were able to meet Klee when we met. What else can you see with your divination?
Mona shoots Nintega a raised eyebrow from this question as that was pretty easy for her to answer.
Mona: Most things. I'm very skilled in my practice after all. What kind of question is that?
TheNintegaGuy: What about... just basic, trivial things?
Mona: Well, of course I can read that! I can see your favorite color, which is blue, despite that you love to wear yellow. I can also see your favorite type of food which is pizza. Your favorite animal is a hedgehog and I can see what you're carrying in your pockets right now. I can see just about anything.
Putting on a cocky smirk, Nintega places both hands in his pockets.
TheNintegaGuy: Alright then, Miss Master Astrologist/Fortune Teller! Tell me what objects I have in my pockets specifically!
Mona: You are carrying your sword, a couple of books that we've read regarding astrology, a pack of mints, and your Mora purse.
Nintega looked pretty impressed by this as he nods approvingly at Mona figuring all of that out by herself. He then had one other thing in mind that he thought that he could ask her as it brought both a blush, but also a small smirk to his face.
TheNintegaGuy: What about... People who like me?
Mona shoots Nintega a strange look.
Mona: Why would you need me to tell you that? Maybe you should find that out for yourself. If only you look beyond, maybe you'd be able to see with your own eyes and not have to use my magic.
TheNintegaGuy: What's the matter, Master Megistus? *smirks* Scared to read my fortune~?
Mona: Wha- Of course not! *sigh* Okay, yes. I can look... you may not like the answer though, so don't blame me.
Mona then summons out a rune that shows a strange constellation that clearly belonged to Nintega as she starts tapping around with it.
Mona: Hmm. The stars are very clear this afternoon. More clear than I had hoped.
TheNintegaGuy: You're stalling...
Mona: I-I'm not stalling! I-I'm just thoroughly examining your- N-Never mind.
She said with a small blush while making the rune disappear in a splash of Hydro magic.
Mona: There is someone that likes you, but... I-I'm going to make you guess.
Nintega was enjoying every second of this as he just kept his smug smirk on his face while trying to be as oblivious as possible.
TheNintegaGuy: Alrighty then... Is it someone I know?
Mona: Yes, it's someone you've known for quite some time now. Sh-She's very smart, skilled, a-and she makes time for you and very much enjoys your spontaneous visits even if she is often busy. That's all of the hints that I'm giving you. If you can't figure it out with those, then I'm afraid that I can't help you any further. Who do you think it is?
Nintega turned away for a few seconds to scratch the top of his head, letting his thoughts wander.
TheNintegaGuy: Hmm... Is it Jean?
Mona just shoots Nintega a shocked look.
Mona: Jean?! Sh-She is skilled and intelligent, but it's not her! Plus, how often do you surprise her with visits?!
TheNintegaGuy: Actually, more often than you'd think, but if you say it's not her, then I'll believe you. (It's kind of a shame though. Jean legitimately is very beautiful and hardworking.)
Mona: You claim to be a novice at astrology, but you don't seem very smart at this.
TheNintegaGuy: Oh, really? Give me another hint then~
Mona: I... suppose I can give you another hint. She... wears a big hat and carries a catalyst with her.
TheNintegaGuy: Big hat and catalyst user? Hmm... Lisa!
Mona: Wh-Wha- N-No! She's like that with everyone! Also, didn't you say that she was already in a relationship with one of your friends?
TheNintegaGuy: Hmm... yeah. That's a good point, actually. Besides, between you and me, she... tends to get pretty scary when she's mad. *shudders*
Mona: You're guessing everyone, but me on purpose, aren't you?!
Mona then suddenly realizes what she just admitted out loud as her face turned extremely red and she covers her mouth with both hands while Nintega just smirks at her.
TheNintegaGuy: So it WAS you~
Mona: I-I... U-Um...
She then turns her head away from Nintega.
Mona: O-Of course it's me! I don't just let anyone take me places when I'm busy and I don't just make the columns for your star sign more detailed just for fun. You probably don't read them much anyway, but I had always hoped you would.
TheNintegaGuy: *chuckles* Funny... I already knew from the moment you told me the fortune that it was you who liked me.
Mona then glares at Nintega again still with a flustered look as this was just an act for the sake of his amusement.
Mona: Wha- What do you mean, you already knew?! So this was all just an act?! D-Do you always aim to frustrate me?!
TheNintegaGuy: Of course, where's the fun if I didn't? I can even do it again~
He said before reaching and he grabbed Mona's hat before taking it off and putting it on his head with a smug grin. Mona grew a shocked look before glaring at Nintega with a tick mark on her head.
Mona: Return my hat right this moment!
She demanded, trying to reach up and take her hat back only for Nintega to hold her back by the shoulder, still smirking like a doofus.
TheNintegaGuy: Why? It looks good on me anyways, if not, better~
Mona: H-How dare you say that?! Give it back right now!
She jumps off of her seat and climbs on top of Nintega, desperately trying to reclaim her hat while Nintega continued to hold her away. Through the struggle, she managed to snatch it back and she smiled triumphantly before donning it again.
Mona: Ha! Take that, you-
She went silent upon realizing something else. In the midst of their wrestling over Mona's article of clothing, she had somehow worked her way onto his lap while straddling it. When this clarification hit her, her pupils shrunk and her entire face went red. Nintega realized this too and gained a face wide blush as well from being so close to her like this.
Mona: I-I... I-I u-uhh...
TheNintegaGuy: H-Happy now?
He managed to ask as Mona didn't know how to respond at first.
Mona: I-I... suppose so.
She was just about to lift herself off until she felt an idea bulb pop into her conscious thought process. She gives it a moment before looking back at Nintega, trying her best not to lose whatever composure she had left at this point.
Mona: Y-You know what... I-I believe I finally know how to repay you.
TheNintegaGuy: A-And... that would be?
The astrologist goes silent, just staring at Nintega the whole time. Before the moment could get any more awkward, he felt Mona's gloved hands slide up his chest, then his neck, and then finally settle on his cheeks. Taking both a deep breath and a second to swallow the fastly accumulated lump in her throat, Mona leaned her face closer... and softly captured Nintega's lips with hers!
Nintega couldn't say that he didn't see this coming with the position that they were in as he closes his eyes and gently kisses her back while wrapping his arms Mona's back as he gently feels her backless leotard. They both kept kissing each other passionately before Mona finally breaks the kiss to catch her breath and so did Nintega. They both stared at each other for a moment before they both grew small smiles on their faces gazing into each other's eyes.
Mona: W-Was... Was that a satisfactory form of repaying you?
TheNintegaGuy: M-More than enough.
Mona's cheeks burned brightly one last time and in a flash, she zoomed back to her seat, turning herself away to try and fan her red hot face. Nintega, meanwhile, also looked away, embarrassed, but also kind of happy as well while he touched his lips, still remembering how soft Mona's felt. The Hero Knight then rubbed a sheepish hand on his head before looking back towards Mona.
TheNintegaGuy: S-So... um... W-Would I still be considered your disciple after that or... um...
Mona took a second to answer as she was still busy trying to rid herself of the blush she had accumulated.
Mona: W-Well... w-what do you think we are?
TheNintegaGuy: A... A-A couple? I-If you're comfortable with that term...
Mona: I-I don't see any reason to deny it, I-I suppose...
She lets out a low sigh and turns herself back around towards Nintega with her hat covering her eyes.
Mona: C-Can... Can I ask something of you?
TheNintegaGuy: S-Sure...
Mona: W-Would... Would you... grant me another kiss?
Nintega looks at Mona before scooting his chair over beside her before adjusting Mona's hat to make the astrologist look up at him. All he could do was give her a genuine smile and that was enough for Mona to get the answer to that as they both leaned in with their eyes closed and proceeded to make out with each other yet again.
Nintega placed one hand on Mona's cheek while the other one was near her hip. Mona however placed both of her hands on Nintega's chest and they both moaned during this kiss. The kiss got even deeper when Nintega started poking Mona's mouth with his tongue and Mona allowed his tongue to enter as both of their tongues swirled around with each other for a bit.
Eventually, they both needed to catch their breath as they both ended the kiss with a line of saliva temporarily still connecting them that broke apart after a few seconds. After they both got their air, they both smiled at each other as Mona caresses one of Nintega's cheeks with her hand.
Mona: Hmm... after that... marvelous kiss, I... I think I'm more comfortable with the idea of... us being an item.
TheNintegaGuy: So am I... I... I love you... Mona. My beautiful astrologist.
Mona: *giggles* And... I... I love you just as much, Nintega. My handsome disciple.
After they break apart from each other, one last thought came to Mona as after they had been practicing her readings through her hydromancy.
Mona: Say, you don't mind if I read your fortune, do you?
TheNintegaGuy: By all means. How far will you look into it?
Mona: Hmm. Perhaps for now, we could keep it brief and then maybe sometime later if you're still interested, I can read your fortune into the more long-term future.
TheNintegaGuy: That sounds fair to me.
Smiling at this answer, Mona summoned out another rune using her hydromancy as she taps a couple of times on it before turning it in a clockwise rotation. The more that she takes a look at it, the more that a strange frown slowly took on her face as she tilts her head in confusion. Nintega noticed Mona's expression with some concern.
TheNintegaGuy: So... what did you see?
Mona: Something quite mysterious. I thought that I would just let the stars show me what is to come for you tomorrow. But it shows something... unfortunate happening involving you... and it's not just you, two other people as well, but that's where the readings stop.
This scares Nintega a bit, but Mona just shakes her head with a reassuring smile.
Mona: No need to look so frightened. I said "unfortunate," not fatal to your life. I speak with confidence when I say that you still have a long life ahead of you.
Nintega was still a little skeptical of what unfortunate event could befall upon him tomorrow, but he knows that Mona's right even though her predictions have been completely accurate all of this time.
TheNintegaGuy: Well, I don't see any reason to not believe you. You are my superior in terms of astrology after all...
Mona: *giggles* Well, seeing as how we're a couple now, I'm not sure if it'd be right to still see me as your superior.
TheNintegaGuy: Probably, but... *smirks* I'll still refer to you as such, you know, for both teasing purposes and to be respectful.
Mona: If you insist.
TheNintegaGuy: You want to maybe... spend the rest of our afternoon together in the library? You can still give me some lessons regarding astrology if you want.
His request led to Mona smiling and scooting her seat closer.
Mona: As long as it's with you, I'll spend my time anywhere~
Nintega grins with a small blush on his face before leaning in to briefly kiss Mona again for just a quick second. Both him and the esteemed astrologist stood up as Nintega finishes paying the bill before the two of them head off to the Knights of Favonius library to spend the rest of their day together.
The very next day, Nintega was walking out of the Knights of Favonius headquarters, feeling pretty happy and energized as he took in a huge deep breath of fresh air. Though there really wasn't a big reason for him to not feel happy after becoming a couple with both Mona and Eula... or was it? As Nintega slides down a rail and flips over a wall, he lands down in the plaza where he meets up with Jordan, Shadow, Lumine, and Paimon too.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Well, well. Mister Fearless Leader finally managed to get himself out of bed this morning.
He said with a smirk.
Shadowlight2784: I'm just surprised that he remembered to put on a shirt.
TheNintegaGuy: *chuckles* Sorry, guys. For the past couple of days, I've been feeling pretty... s-satisfied. So satisfied that it's been keeping me up at night. Some things have been going in my favor lately.
Lumine: Like what?
Nintega blushes from that follow-up question while rubbing the back of his head.
TheNintegaGuy: I-I uh... I've been... Y-You see the thing is...
Jordanwolfboy9743: The thing is what?
He asked, raising an eyebrow and not really understanding Nintega's behavior.
TheNintegaGuy: *sigh* Y-You guys have been teasing me a lot about my feelings for Eula... and I guess Mona too, but... I guess... you guys... kind of... predicted my situation in a sense.
Paimon: What are you saying?
TheNintegaGuy: Well... Jordan's with Amber and Lisa and... Shadow's with Rosaria, so... that leaves me with...
He said before pressing both of his index fingers together nervously. It took all of them a second to understand what Nintega was saying before sudden realization hit all of them and Jordan was the first one to rush up to Nintega and grabbed his shoulders in pure excitement.
Jordanwolfboy9743: No freaking way, dude! Did you actually do it?!
TheNintegaGuy: Yep... I did it. Mona and Eula are now officially my girlfriends!
He stated with a proud smile as his friends each had the same exact look as they couldn't believe that they now had two people in their group with a harem.
Jordanwolfboy9743: That's awesome, pal! How did you get both of them to agree to it?!
TheNintegaGuy: That's the thing... I didn't. Because neither of them know that I'm dating both of them at the same time.
Hearing this brought sudden frowns to everyone as they just stared at Nintega blankly as each of them blinked twice wondering if Nintega had any brain cells to know exactly what he just did. In an instant, Lumine comes up to Nintega... and smacks him across the face.
TheNintegaGuy: OWWW!
Lumine: Are you crazy?!?
TheNintegaGuy: Guys, they're different from Amber and Lisa... I just-
Lumine: Lied to them!
TheNintegaGuy: Y-Yeah, but I-
Shadowlight2784: Lied to them!
TheNintegaGuy: *sigh* I know what I did was wrong, but I know both of them well... They wouldn't understand...
Jordanwolfboy9743: Yeah... NOW they're not going to understand. You know why? 'CAUSE YOU FREAKING LIED TO THEM!
Jordan's yell was apparently so loud that it blew a gust of wind at Nintega. Nintega was growing more guilty by the minute as he just tried to come up with more excuses.
TheNintegaGuy: Jordan, Shadow, Lumine, Paimon... Mona's the most beautiful girl I know who's knowledgable in astrology and Eula's super fun to hang around and share's my love for action... I-I mean.. Imagine their reactions if I told one of them that I want to be in a harem with them alongside someone else they hardly know. Plus, it's only Mona and Eula and no one else, so no big deal.
The three of them couldn't believe what Nintega was actually saying as it was making Jordan laugh a little bit.
Jordanwolfboy9743: *snickers* I-It's only... Mona... and Eula... Shadow, what did he just say? Did he say it's only Mona and Eula?
Shadowlight2784: Yep.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Did he say it's only Mona and Eula?
Shadowlight2784: Yes he did.
Jordanwolfboy9743: OOOOOOO-KAY!!!
Jordan then goes up to Nintega and points a finger at his chest while glaring into his face.
Jordanwolfboy9743: *sigh* Buddy, you don't know unless you try, but you can't since you already jumped the gun and are now pretty much two timing both of them.
Shadowlight2784: Besides, the only reason it worked fine for Jordan is because Lisa brought up the idea of a harem with Amber and Jordan in the first place.
TheNintegaGuy: That's because both Amber and Lisa are pretty easy to get along with, and there's also the fact that they're already good friends with each other. Although both Mona and Eula have a lot of pride... Eula tends to pretend that she holds grudges against others and Mona... well, she tries to hide the fact that she's broke and tries to call her methods "disciplined." If there is a chance that they'd agree to a harem, it would be pretty slim.
Lumine: You... don't... know that!!
A sigh escapes Nintega as he rubs his eyes.
TheNintegaGuy: I am the ONLY one who knows that. Especially since compared to the rest of you, I'm the closest to both of them. That especially goes for Jordan and Eula...
Jordan raises a finger to retort to that, but he couldn't think of an argument to counter that claim as he just sighs and puts it down.
Jordanwolfboy9743: *mumbles* No need to be so blunt about it.
Shadowlight2784: *sigh* Alright, alright, can you at least give us an answer on what you plan to do from here on out? Because the way I see it, you can't keep up seeing the two of them BEHIND the other's back forever.
TheNintegaGuy: I-I'll tell them eventually... at least... one of them.
Paimon: One of them? So, not ever both of them?
TheNintegaGuy: Do I have a choice?!
Lumine: Yes! Tell Eula and Mona the truth and admit that you were only doing this to avoid creating a conflict! Unless you don't tell either of them now, you're only going to dig a deeper hole for yourself, Nintega!
TheNintegaGuy: I can keep them apart from each other. Eula's a Reconnaissance Captain and Mona's an astrologist. You don't really see those collide coincidentally that much. Trust me, as your guys' leader, I know exactly what I'm doing. Have I ever been wrong about anything yet?
Everyone just shoots Nintega deadpan glares with awkward silence as they can't believe that he really wants them to answer that question. Nintega takes notice of all of their reactions with a sheepish laugh and smile.
TheNintegaGuy: E-Exactly! See? I've got this.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Paimon, on a scale of one to ten, how screwed is Nintega?
The fairy girl brings a hand to her chin in thought.
Paimon: Hmm... Paimon would say... about 100.
TheNintegaGuy: Shush, the both of you! I've got this whole thing handled, you'll see!
He turns around before gaining a grin on his face. He then steps to the side to show the group that Mona was walking on her own around the plaza.
TheNintegaGuy: See? There's Mona right now. And not a sight of a blue-haired captain with her.
Shadowlight2784: Uh... you may want to look again, bud.
Nintega does what he suggested and looked back only for his stomach to twist up in knots. While Mona was looking down at some flowers that were planted nearby, a certain reconnaissance captain jumped off a nearby rooftop, landing in the square similar to that of a superhero.
(A/N: Kids, never attempt a superhero landing. It's hard on the knees... seriously, it is.)
Nintega starts freaking out as if those two end up meeting each other, then his chances of being caught have grown by tenfold. He looks around for answers that could help him out before an idea came to his mind.
TheNintegaGuy: U-Uh, um, J-Jordan! Stall Eula and keep out of Mona's eyesight! The rest of us will do the same with Mona!
Nintega immediately sprints off as Shadow, Lumine, and Paimon looked at each other while shrugging before following Nintega. Jordan's reaction however was complete bafflement.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Wait! Why do I have to be the one to distract Eula?! She hates me, remember?!
He tried telling them, but they were already out of earshot which caused him to groan and facepalm. Turning his gaze towards Eula, he sighed before slowly walking up to her.
Jordanwolfboy9743: (Remember, Jordan. Her vengeance line is just her way of masking who she really is. She probably doesn't actually hate you... oh, who am I kidding? She despises me! *sigh* Nintega, I swear, I'm gonna kill you if she doesn't somehow delete my existence!)
After a few seconds, he reaches Eula who had yet to see him.
Jordanwolfboy9743: *clears throat* H-Hey, Eula! Long time no see!
Eula noticed Jordan out of the corner of her eye and she reacted with an annoyed sigh at first before turning towards him with crossed arms, not looking happy to see him.
Eula: Greetings, Savior Knight. What business do you have with me?
Jordanwolfboy9743: I-I don't know. It's just... been a while since we've talked and I thought it'd be nice if we caught up, you know?
Eula: *sigh* I don't particularly waste my time with small talk... but I guess that's true.
Out of the corner of his eye, Jordan noticed that Nintega and the others had reached Mona and started striking up a conversation with her, so he tried thinking of what to say next to stall for time.
Jordanwolfboy9743: So... how've things been in regards to you and Nintega? From what I've heard from him, you guys seem to be hitting it off pretty well.
Eula raises an eyebrow, but soon turns her head away with a small frown.
Eula: My relationship with your friend is my business only. If you wish to know so badly, why not ask Nintega yourself instead of coming to me?
This was definitely a question that left Jordan's mind going in circles as of course he couldn't just tell Eula that Nintega wanted him to be here. Things weren't going as smooth with the others and Mona as Nintega was begging Mona to try and read Paimon's fortune, but she kept claiming that she can't.
TheNintegaGuy: U-Uh, are you sure you can't read Paimon's fortune? Y-You're able to read mine and I'm not from this world.
Mona: That may be true, but my hydromancy isn't 100% flawless. No matter what, I cannot seem to discern a single shred of information regarding this floating fairy's fate.
Paimon: What?! Paimon nearly drowned in a lake when Paimon first met Lumine! How could you possibly not know anything?!
Mona: It does not tell of your origins, no matter how much I try.
Lumine: *sigh* That's okay. We don't particularly know where Paimon came from either...
Shadowlight2784: Eh, it's probably best to just be happy that she came into our lives in the first place.
TheNintegaGuy: Yeah. I mean, she's definitely turned out to be the best little travel guide a group of adventurers could ask for.
He said with a smile which made Paimon very happy as she responded with a close eyed grin.
Paimon: *giggles* It's true!
TheNintegaGuy: *smirks* Not to mention... the best emergency food~
Paimon's eyes widened before she pouts and stomps the air.
Paimon: Argh! Why must you always bring that up?!
Shadowlight2784: We bring it up for running gag purposes in this story...
Paimon: Paimon doesn't even know what that means!
Mona shoots them all a strange look before shrugging her shoulders.
Mona: Well, if that answers your question, I'll be off. I need to take a look at what the stars are saying for today anyways. Nintega would best keep a lookout for the unfortunate event that's supposed to befall upon him.
Lumine gets a look of pure concern as she turns to Mona.
Lumine: Wait... What do you mean, "unfortunate?"
Mona: Oh, it's just some bad luck, nothing more and nothing less. I looked into Nintega's fortune yesterday and something... mostly bad will happen. Nothing that'll harm him physically though.
Hearing that, Shadow, Lumine, and Paimon all shoot Nintega annoyed glares as that should've been the hint of what his current predicament would be with confessing to Mona and Eula without them knowing. Nintega ignores their looks while rubbing the back of his head and stuttering nervously.
TheNintegaGuy: G-Gee, I-I wonder when that time will come... H-Hopefully not too soon...
Paimon leans over to Lumine.
Paimon: *whisper* Scratch that. Paimon bumps it up to 1000.
The blonde traveler couldn't help but shake her head at that while rolling her eyes. Back with Jordan and Eula, we see the next part of their conversation.
Jordanwolfboy9743: I-I'm just... wishing to see it from both perspectives, you know? He speaks pretty highly of you, so I figured that you'd speak highly of him as well.
Eula: *sigh* Well, it's as I said, it's my business. By the way, since we've brought him up, mind telling me where the Hero Knight is?
Jordan freezes up from this question as he darts his eyes back and forth as the only thing that he does is take a small step to block Eula's vision past him.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Um... Noooo? I haven't seen him since this morning, but he didn't tell me where he went.
A skeptical look appears on Eula as she crosses her arms again.
Eula: Are you sure of that?
Jordanwolfboy9743: *nods* More than sure.
Eula: Then it appears that I have wasted my time with you. I shall have my vengeance on you making me think that you'll be of some use to me.
She said before getting ready to walk past him, but Jordan quickly jumps back to block Eula's path again.
Jordanwolfboy9743: W-Wait! Y-You can't go this way!
She raises an eyebrow at him.
Eula: And why not?
Jordanwolfboy9743: B-Because... uh...
He trailed off, thinking of what to say next. Even with his mind going a million miles per hour, he somehow was able to think of a way to distract Eula... even if it's not the most ideal.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Because... I think it's about time that I enact my own vengeance upon you, that's why!
Eula could only react with a sigh and facepalm to this as Jordan was pretty much mocking her. Back with the other four that were trying to block Mona's view of Eula, things weren't going so much in their favor either as Mona was just beyond confused.
Mona: I don't understand. Did you all really just come to me just for a fortune reading? I promise that I can make time for each of you to do so, but I should be one my way to make another reading myself.
She gets ready to take her leave, but Nintega stops her.
TheNintegaGuy: W-Wait! You can't leave yet! I-I mean...
Nintega tries to come up with a way to divert Mona away and he was running out of options fast, but not before he quickly got an adequate idea in his mind. He decided to do the same thing that he did to Mona yesterday and snatched her hat off her head while holding it above him.
TheNintegaGuy: Y-You can't go anywhere without this, right?!
Mona narrows her eyes at Nintega while letting out an annoyed sigh.
Mona: This again? Return my hat immediately, Nintega!
Instead of doing that, Nintega put it on.
TheNintegaGuy: If you want it... come and get it, Master Megistus~!
Spinning himself around, he sprints the other way, hoping Mona would fall for it and luckily, she did as she chased after him.
Mona: H-Hey! Get back here right now!
TheNintegaGuy: Not a chance!
He said blowing raspberries at her. However, this was a mistake on Nintega's part as he was not looking where he was going at all... and he crashed into Jordan, causing them both to tumble to the ground with stars in their eyes.
Jordanwolfboy9743: *dizzily* *groans* Can someone tell truck-kun to hit someone else for a change?
Eula just had a baffled look at what just unfolded before her while Mona easily caught up with Nintega and took back her hat to put it back on her head.
Mona: Hmph! Thought you could steal my personal belongings and get away with it, love? I think not.
When she said the word "love," Eula gave her a confused glance before looking down at Nintega.
Eula: What is the meaning of this, Nintega?
Breaking out of his dizzied state, Nintega shot up to his feet and almost fell back down upon seeing his two girlfriends now not ten feet away from each other. He immediately tried to dodge the question.
TheNintegaGuy: H-Hi, Eula... T-Taking a break from reconnaissance duty?
She wasn't buying it however as she narrowed her eyes at him.
Eula: Just who is this girl that you're with?
She gestured to Mona when she asked that as the astrologist stared back with a confused face.
Mona: Wait, Nintega, you know the reconnaissance captain personally?
Seeing how he's backed up into a corner now, Nintega had no choice, but to answer that question.
TheNintegaGuy: O-Of course, I do... Sh-She's my... m-my... uh... be-be... n-no! Um, she's...
Eula just deadpans at Nintega who stutters so much as she places a hand on her hip.
Eula: Is it really that hard to admit it? Of course I'm your girlfriend.
Mona heard that last word from Eula loud and clear as she flinched in pure shock.
Mona: G-Girlfriend?!?
While Nintega stood absolutely frozen, Jordan got back up after shaking away his dizziness as he looked back and forth between Eula and Mona, donning a sheepish grin as he did before clearing his throat and briefly glancing at his best friend.
Jordanwolfboy9743: I-I'm just... gonna go see what Diluc's up to, sooooo...
He slowly backs away and out of sight. His voice was ignored completely though as Nintega was standing in front of two extremely confused and shocked girls who wanted answers from him.
Mona: Th-That's impossible! I'M his girlfriend!
It was now Eula's turn to be shocked as she donned an expression that was a mix of both bewilderment and anger and she aimed it right at Nintega.
Eula: Nintega, explain yourself!
Mona: Yes! Do explain what's going on here!
She agreed. Nintega was sweating profusely as he darts his eyes between both ladies not knowing what to do here.
TheNintegaGuy: U-Uh... First off. Mona, Eula. Eula, Mona. N-Now that introductions are out of the way, w-we can go onto the part that I need to explain. Th-The part that I-I'll explain right n-now... Th-The part that'll come at this very second wh-when I find the words that I need to say... A-And both you and I will be satisfied when I do...
He was clearly stalling as this fooled nobody.
Mona: Were... Were you cheating on me?
She asked, looking a little hurt.
TheNintegaGuy: W-What?! No! I-I... I don't know! I didn't-
Eula: You... were two timing me?!
TheNintegaGuy: I-It's not like that at all, Eula! I-I just- *sigh* A-Alright, let me explain!
Sighing, Mona goes and stands next to Eula, crossing her arms while Eula has her hands on her hips.
TheNintegaGuy: L-Look, you guys are misunderstanding me! The idea wasn't to cheat on either of you, it was to just see how a polyamorous relationship would work cause one of my friends is in one too!
Apparently, Jordan hadn't left at all as he was actually with the rest of the crew who was watching and listening to the whole thing as he called out to Nintega.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Nintega, if you're going to lie to Mona and Eula, don't end your pleading case with "one of my friends is in one too." Especially seeing how irritatingly close minded she is.
He said, pointing to Eula who gave him a brief stink eye before glaring back at Nintega.
Eula: Well?
TheNintegaGuy: *sighs* Okay, yes... I did actually plan on dating you both at the same time without either of you knowing, but I was going to tell at least one of you eventually.
Jordanwolfboy9743: Yeah, but to be fair, he really didn't plan to do that any time soon seeing as how he mentioned you both having too much pride.
Nintega stomps his foot down in anger as Jordan was not helping him one bit.
TheNintegaGuy: FOR THE LOVE OF ARCHONS, WHY?!
Jordan recoiled from his outburst and slowly let himself walk away with a nervous face.
Mona: Then tell us this: why exactly did you only plan to tell one of us instead of both of us?!
Shadow leans over to whisper to Lumine.
Shadowlight2784: *whisper* I think his only options to get out of this are to either fake a heart attack or have a real one.
TheNintegaGuy: I-It's nothing... biased about it exactly... I-I just...
Eula: You just said that you'd only tell one of us, so there is some clear bias within that!
Realizing that he was backed into a corner again, Nintega darted his eyes back and forth before coming up with the best solution as he grabbed his right arm and held it firmly.
TheNintegaGuy: I-I'm feeling a pain in my arm for some reason.
Seeing how Shadow predicted the move here, Lumine slowly nods while whispering back at Shadow.
Lumine: *whisper* Nailed it.
Although, it would seem that his sad attempt at getting out of the argument failed to convince either Mona or Eula who simply gave him unconvinced frowns.
Mona & Eula: Wrong arm for a heart attack, idiot!
Nintega looks at the arm that he was currently holding before he actually switched which one that he was holding which causes everyone else who was watching to either roll their eyes or facepalm.
Paimon: He seriously switched arms!
TheNintegaGuy: M-My point is that if I couldn't choose one of you, why not do both at the same time? Th-That way... there would be no complaints... a-at least when no one found out that is...
Mona: And to do so, you chose to go behind both of our backs?!
Eula: And look us in the eye and lie to us?!
TheNintegaGuy: W-Where else am I supposed to look when I lie to you two?
Having heard enough, both Mona and Eula turned and stomped off with Mona looking over her shoulder back at Nintega as she had a small tear in her eye.
Mona: I... I thought I could really trust you, Nintega. That you were someone I could really confide in and share my secrets with.
Eula stopped as well and did the same as Mona as she too had a few tears of her own.
Eula: Turns out... we were both played for fools.
And with that, they resumed their storming off pace.
TheNintegaGuy: M-Mona... Eula... I-I can explain...
However, his final attempt to try and get them to listen to him was absolutely worthless as they both went out of sight. Nintega turns back to his friends who all had different reactions as Shadow slowly turned his head away while not wanting to get involved any further, Lumine just gave a disappointed frown to Nintega while shaking her head, Paimon crossed her arms, and Jordan just smiled nervously.
Jordanwolfboy9743: I-If... If it makes you feel any better... Amber, Lisa, and I are fine.
Nintega just stared at him as if asking how on Earth that was supposed to help.
Jordanwolfboy9743: I-I mean... REALLY good.
Nintega just turns away from them once again before falling to his knees and slumping his head down as he definitely knew that this predicament was all on him and no one else.
TheNintegaGuy: *sighs* What have I done...
Later on, during the day, Nintega is seen over by Windrise, leaning his back against it, moping on the enormous mistake that he pulled earlier. He simply lets out a sad sigh before burying his face into his knees wondering how he's going to fix this or get over this as he believes that neither will happen anytime soon. However, his contemplation of guilt was interrupted when he heard the sounds of lyre strings being played as he got a confused look before looking straight upwards to see Venti sitting down on a branch above him, playing a melody on a lyre.
Nintega stares up at him with a raised eyebrow before deciding to ignore him at first as he just tries resting again to think. However, Venti's music, while soothing, wasn't really helping Nintega's mood anymore as the Hero Knight lets out a slightly loud sigh before looking up at him one more time and just shakes his head. After another minute, Nintega was starting to grow impatient as he felt like Venti either wasn't getting the message or ignoring him on purpose as he finally cracked before standing up and glaring upwards towards the bard.
TheNintegaGuy: *groans* What do you want, Venti?
Venti finally stops playing his lyre before smirking down at Nintega.
Venti: It's about time you decided to ask for my company.
TheNintegaGuy: I never asked in the first place, you just came out of nowhere.
Venti: Because even though you didn't verbally ask for it, your heart certainly called out for it.
TheNintegaGuy: And what exactly is that supposed to mean?
Venti: *chuckles* It means what it means. Speaking of which, how's your relationship going with the astrologist and reconnaissance captain?
TheNintegaGuy: *sighs* You may as well find a word that goes lower than friendship as I pretty much blew my chances with them and humiliated myself in front of them.
Venti: Oh, don't worry. I heard.
Nintega's eyes widen from that before he quickly turns his head up to the bard in shock.
TheNintegaGuy: What?!? Wh-Who told you?! D-Did Jordan tell you?
Venti: I heard from Lumine, Shadow, Paimon, Master Diluc as he said that Eula had five glasses of wine during that day, I heard from Katheryne over from the Adventurer's Guild, Amber, and finally... Jordan told me.
TheNintegaGuy: *sigh* Word really does travel fast, it seems. Well, did any of them ever tell you that my chances of ever seeing those two have blown away for good because I'm doomed!
Venti: From what? Being with Mona and Eula or being labeled as a liar?
TheNintegaGuy: Both! I mean... What was I supposed to do?! Amber and Lisa are easy people to get along with, but you can't say the same for Mona and Eula! I'm pretty much one of the only guys that they know they're able to open up to! I love them both, but I was in a situation Jordan was in, so I thought that I should think two steps ahead and be in a relationship with both of them without either of them knowing.
Venti: And... the reason you thought you'd be able to maintain that was... what exactly?
TheNintegaGuy: *sigh* I... I don't know. Look, in hindsight, I realize that it was a stupid idea, alright? I just... I just got really scared.
Venti: *smirks* If you're willing to admit that to someone like me, why not say the same thing to the same people you love dearly?
Nintega was thrown in a loop from that question as there really wasn't much of an excuse, but he tried to come up with one anyway.
TheNintegaGuy: I was... just trying to prevent drama and conflict from happening...
Venti: Trying to stop a conflict from happening by stopping your own honest feelings from coming out... *chuckles* Ain't that typical...
Nintega narrows his eyes at Venti as his cheeky statements aren't helping him at all.
TheNintegaGuy: Now I see why Paimon loves to call you, Tone-Deaf Bard...
Venti chuckles before levitating the lyre away and he jumps off of the tree branch before slowly descending downwards to Nintega's level thanks to the power of Anemo.
Venti: Let me show you something.
Venti then creates a small orb of Anemo in his palm before he just flings it outwards in a random direction, creating a small gust of wind to blow. Nintega didn't exactly know what that was supposed to prove as he just crossed his arms.
TheNintegaGuy: What am I supposed to be observing exactly?
Venti: The wind flows all around us, but even I can't force it to go anywhere. No matter where I try to guide it, it will always spread out and choose its own path. Like the air that's flowing all around us, it will never go in a single direction, nor can it forever be trapped. In other words, the wind itself is a symbol of freedom.
TheNintegaGuy: But wind can't travel forever, you know. Eventually, it's going to either be trapped, stopped, or even consumed.
Venti: True, but it was trying to go and live its own path. Just like we all get to choose our own, and if young Amber is able to use the wind to help guide her and if she can put her trust in it, so too can you put your trust in things going well for you, Mona, and Eula. You just need to give it a chance to do so.
TheNintegaGuy: But I can never tell what's going to happen! Which is why I always do what I think is best for my friends' feelings!
Venti: Heh, well, I hate to break it to you, Mister Fearless Leader, but life isn't all about playing it safe. The biggest risk in life is taking no risks, after all. That doesn't just apply to what you love to do or where you want to go. It still applies to your own decisions too.
Nintega looks at Venti, slowly feeling conflicted as he turns his away while looking downwards. The bard then walks up to Nintega and places a hand on his shoulder.
Venti: You must trust the wind and that it'll carry you to the right path... even if that path is not the easiest one to take. You must let that path continue to move. Don't try to stop it on your own. You may not have a chance with those girls any longer, but that's not entirely for me to decide. It's your choice. Do you still want to flow toward that path or stick to this one?
Nintega thinks about Venti's words for a moment before looking outwards into the land of Mondstadt. After a bit more of letting his mind work, Nintega gains a serious look before finally making his decision.
TheNintegaGuy: I... I think that I'll try to give this another shot, if they're willing to do so as well.
Venti then grins while crossing his arms.
Venti: If that's what you want to do. Suit yourself.
Nintega gave him a strange look.
TheNintegaGuy: I thought that's the choice you wanted me to choose!
Venti: *chuckles* I never said that... but you did~
Raising an eyebrow, Nintega just stared at him before slapping a hand against his forehead with a groan.
TheNintegaGuy: Venti... I both love and hate you so much!
Venti: *chuckles* That's the kind of effect I have on people sometimes, don'cha know?
Nintega sighs with a playful eye roll before putting both of his hands on his hips.
TheNintegaGuy: I'm going to confess to Mona and Eula... but properly this time.
Venti: Attaboy, Nintega! So, how're you gonna do it?
TheNintegaGuy: *chuckles* As the leader of the Honorary Knights, I think I can come up with a plan in the creative mind that I was gifted with. I'll just need the others to help me out with it.
He then turns back to the bard smiling at him.
TheNintegaGuy: Still, thanks for the pep talk, Venti. If the news doesn't spread out as fast, I'll tell you what happened as soon as I can!
He then runs off back to Mondstadt so that he can prepare himself to try and get Mona and Eula to hear his feelings once more. Venti just watches him run off with a bright smile before looking up at the large tree beside him.
The next day, after Nintega informed the other Honorary Knights of his plan, everyone went along with it as Lumine and Paimon had told Eula that they saw a suspicious Fatui lurking around the Stormbearer Mountains and she was more than willing to investigate for them. Meanwhile, Jordan and Shadow's fib to Mona was that they saw a strange looking star pop out of the sky in the afternoon around Stormbearer Mountains. While Mona actually knew this was a lie thanks to her hydromancy, she still knew that they wanted her out there for some reason, so she nonetheless complied since it was important.
Mona is seen around the watchtower in Stormbearer Mountains as she was looking around for whatever Jordan and Shadow wanted her there in the first place. She started to get a little impatient as she just summoned out a rune and inspects it before shaking her head and makes it disappear.
Mona: Hopefully, this wasn't a waste of my time. What was so enticing that Jordan and Shadow told me that I should be around this area for a minute?
She then heard a yell of effort as it made her gasp and she turned around to see that it was Eula coming down from above her with her claymore overhead ready to slam it down. Mona instantly reacted by teleporting herself away as Eula slammed her claymore to the ground while Mona instantly reappeared. When both of them got a good look at each other, their eyes widened in shock.
Mona & Eula: You?!
They pointed at each other during the simultaneous shout.
Eula: What?! Why would the Traveler label you as someone suspicious and affiliated with the Fatui?
Mona: Wha?! How dare that either of you would label me to stoop that low! Honestly, you have some nerve attacking me out of nowhere!
Eula: Are you suggesting that I acted irrationally?! I shall take vengeance upon you for- Wait... why ARE you out here anyways?
Mona: I was told by Jordan and Shadow to come here. What about you? You don't appear to have your reconnaissance team with you, so you must be out here for some other reason as well.
Eula digs her claymore into the dirt.
Eula: The Traveler Knight informed me that there were Fatui agents in the area, however, it appears I was misled.
TheNintegaGuy: N-Not exactly...
Both of their eyes widened before turning their faces to see Nintega finally come out of hiding as he was listening behind the watchtower the whole time.
TheNintegaGuy: The whole thing was actually to get you two to meet each other here... with me that is...
Eula and Mona were definitely not happy to see Nintega here as they both glared at him.
Eula: You dare show your face to us again?
TheNintegaGuy: L-Let me- I-I mean... um... I have something to say, so... can both of you please listen for just a minute?
Mona: Why would I ever listen to you after yesterday?!
TheNintegaGuy: Because I need to tell you both the real reason that I lied!
Eula: Reason? You were one of the only people in Mondstadt that I'm able to open up to better, you said that you understood me a lot more than people who judged me based on my heritage, and finally, I've told you one of my deepest secrets! What reason could you possibly have in just throwing away my trust just like that?!
TheNintegaGuy: Hear me out... I told you two this already, but yes Jordan's in a relationship with both Amber and Lisa. I wanted to see if there was a possible way of doing the same thing. Sure, it didn't really go as planned but-
Mona: But why couldn't you have been honest with us?! You should've predicted that this would happen! Honestly, I'm disappointed that I was the only one to predict that outcome and you didn't. You're supposed to be my disciple, Nintega.
TheNintegaGuy: I know, but the thing is that I got to know you both well and-
Eula however interrupts him and her tone of voice was getting angrier by the minute.
Eula: Stop it right there! Know us? I've told you that throughout my life, nothing up to now made my encounters with everyday people any easier than when I was formerly still with my clan! Nobody understands that I try to at least make an effort to give them a reason to see me as someone different! I thought that maybe you were someone that completely understands me, but look at what I had to witness now! You simply play with my feelings and then try to act like you can easily fix them and everything else!
Nintega holds both of his hands up in defense.
TheNintegaGuy: Eula... I completely get that you're really angry with me right now, but I just want to say-
Then, in a move that shocks both him and Mona, Eula summoned her claymore and aimed the tip at Nintega. Even from the distance he was at, Nintega could make out the glimmer of tears in Eula's eyes as she glared hard at him.
https://youtu.be/de-pYduwF7c
Eula: Enough talk! You've played with my feelings for the first AND last time! THIS is where I properly get my vengeance upon you!
While she says that alot, Nintega could definitely tell that Eula wasn't joking at all as he takes a small step back a little frightened. Mona walks up a bit and tries to reason with Eula a bit.
Mona: Hold on! As mad as I am at Nintega, there is no need to harm him physically.
Eula: Back off, or I'll take my vengeance out on you as well!
Mona flinches from that harsh request before Eula turns back to Nintega who still looked pretty scared.
Eula: I have no need to hear any more words out of you! Summon out your weapon this moment!
TheNintegaGuy: Eula... Stop... I don't want to fight or hurt you...
Eula: Well, you should have thought of that before...
Her head lowers as a sniffle could be heard along with a few tears going down her cheeks.
Eula: B-Before... breaking my heart!
After a second, Eula raises her head back up at Nintega with a pure look of seriousness as she immediately dashes towards Nintega who gasps before he easily ducks under a swing from Eula's claymore. She then takes another strike at Nintega vertically as he steps to the side to avoid this too. However, all of Eula's swings were pretty fast even if she was using a heavy sword and eventually, she catches Nintega off guard by nearly kicking him up at his head to which he barely avoids, but he wasn't able to avoid a swing that hit him directly on his side.
Nintega easily goes flying from this hard hit as he ends up on the grass. Rolling up onto his back, Nintega gasps when he sees Eula coming down from above with the tip of her claymore pointing down at him. Nintega rolls to the side to this blow as Eula stabs the ground instead. She easily takes it back out of the ground before making her claymore glow with some Cryo energy and she takes a swing at Nintega and this hits way harder than the last one as Nintega got sent flying towards the watchtower and crashes into it with a painful groan.
Nintega then slowly stands up in pain as some of his clothes were ripped from the assault that Eula just did to him. He couldn't focus on that for very long as out of the corner of his eye, he saw Eula charging straight for him in the air, readying for another horizontal slice. Acting fast, he ducks out of the way as Eula nearly decapitates him and he rolls from her and stands up.
Eula: I thought you were better than this! I thought you were my friend, Nintega! But you're just as shortsighted as everyone else that labels me for my heritage!
She goes for another vertical swing that nearly hits him, but Nintega manages to take his sword out and block it just in time.
TheNintegaGuy: Eula, I may have lied, but that doesn't make me your enemy! *grunts* Don't fight me for this!
Eula: How can I not?! You've hit me emotionally harder than anyone I've known in Mondstadt!
She said as she put more of her anger into pushing her claymore against Nintega's sword causing him to slip back a little. They then exchanged more sword swings that clashed with each other as Nintega focused more on blocking rather than attacking while Eula went on the full offensive.
Nintega then does a backflip onto the watchtower before pushing himself back downwards at full speed towards Eula while holding his sword horizontally in front of him. Eula drops her knees and bends backwards to avoid this as Nintega lands back down on the surface.
Eula then turns around and thrusts her claymore forward towards Nintega as he moves his head to the side before blocking another strike, only for Eula to knock Nintega's sword out of his hand as he gasps. Eula then thrusts her knee up into Nintega's chin causing him to groan in pain while grabbing his face. When he recovered, he blocked two kicks from Eula with his arms before taking a third one to his gut.
He then looks back at his sword on the ground before making his hand glow lime green and he causes a small current to form where his sword was causing it to launch his sword up into the air and he guides it in the direction towards him for him to catch it and he blocks another strike from Eula. She then went for several more strikes, but the more she did, the angrier and faster she got, almost going at hyper speed. As a result, it was hard for Nintega to keep up with all of her blows until eventually, he got hit with another Cryo-infused sword that he barely blocked, but wasn't able to keep his guard up as he ended up sliding backwards.
Mona then runs over to try and help Nintega up, but gasps when she sees Eula coming over towards them with her claymore as she pushes Nintega out of the way before teleporting backwards as she barely avoids another swing from Eula who glares at her while pointing her claymore at her.
Eula: I told you to back off, astrologist! This is my feud against Nintega only!
Mona: I might be mad at him as well, but I can't just let you kill him either! This is all too much!
Eula: Final warning! Stay out of this!
She said before looking back where she pushed Nintega, only for her eyes to widen to see that Nintega disappeared. She looks around for him and sees him climbing up the watchtower. Eula then stabs her claymore into the ground before sprinting towards the watchtower herself.
When Nintega climbs up the watchtower, he tries hiding on the top to catch his breath from fighting Eula so much. However, his small breather was only for a second as he sees Eula leaping up at him with her giant sword made completely out of Cryo energy. He ducks under the swing as Eula lands on the watchtower with him. They both clashed swords as Nintega almost lost his grip when Eula swings her Cryo sword at him. She then kicks him in the face and Nintega barely dodges another sword swing, but Eula leg sweeps him to throw Nintega off of his balance as he yelps, nearly falling off of the watchtower as he grabs the edge with one hand.
He looked down, whimpering in fear from the height he was at before looking back up at Eula who glares down at him while pointing the tip of her elemental sword down at Nintega's hand.
Eula: Fall!
Nintega gulps and sweats some more.
TheNintegaGuy: I-I would, but... t-the thing is... t-that wouldn't be ideal for my personal health.
However, he gasps when he sees Eula bring her Cryo sword upwards, getting ready to stab his hand, and that forces Nintega to let go just before she did and he falls a couple of stories down onto the ground. He groans in extreme pain and tries getting back up, but something heavy lands on him and pins him down. Nintega knew all too well who it was and looked up to find Eula with her claymore pointing down at his head with the angriest expression she had yet.
Eula: I may not be part of my family's clan anymore, but... if there's one thing I still share with them...
She raises her claymore even higher.
Eula: ...is that I execute traitors!
Nintega then squints and braces himself for his demise, but not before suddenly a voice from a certain Anemo Archon started speaking in his head.
Venti: Remember that you let the wind carry you to the right path... even if that path is not the easiest one to take. You must let that path continue to move, don't try to stop it on your own.
Hearing Venti's voice remind him of that, something strange happened as Nintega's eyes glowed lime green for a second before he furrows them into a serious glare. When Eula started sending her claymore downwards...
It was suddenly blocked by Nintega's sword which was glowing completely lime green as he was in another clash against Eula with look of pure seriousness on his face. He then slowly started to push Eula back as the Spindrift Knight was slowly getting a surprised look from this as it kept going and going until Eula was forced to not only get off of Nintega, but Nintega also got back up onto his knees before...
He throws Eula completely off balance with a lime green aura around him and this shocked not just Eula, but Mona as well who was watching the whole thing in complete bafflement. Nintega had glowing eyes, but not just that... a brand new sword had formed in his opposite hand that was completely made out of Anemo energy similar to when Jordan summoned a bow completely made out of the same element.
Eula lands on her feet, but not before Nintega dashed towards her while dual-wielding his swords and now it was Nintega who was on the offensive and Eula who was on the defensive as each strike that Nintega made was strong enough to push Eula back as she was put under so much pressure from each of Nintega's attacks.
Nintega does a full-on combo, swinging both his normal and Anemo sword and taking turns with each of them before finally doing a backflip kick that knocks Eula's claymore out of her hand and she watches it fly off before it stabs itself into the ground behind her. Finally, Nintega finishes the fight by sending a hard Anemo-infused kick into Eula's stomach area causing her to get launched and yells in pain while rolling across the ground and she ends up right beside the cliff of the mountain.
She slowly gets on her knees before grabbing her arm in pain, but not before she looks up and sees Nintega pointing his sword down at her while panting as well as after that full-powered attack that he just did, he was definitely out of breath.
TheNintegaGuy: *panting* I'm... done... fighting you... Eula...
Eula just gives him a silent glare before turning her head to the ground in defeat.
Eula: *whisper* *panting* Y-You're... You're just like everyone else. I... I really... truly am alone.
She then stands up while still grasping her arm as her clothes were scuffed thanks to Nintega last attack that he did. She then looks back up at Nintega still glaring at him.
Eula: *panting* But... you've... bested me anyways... So yes... there would be no point in continuing this feud... Well done, Hero Knight...
Eula then takes a single step back and when she does, the part of the cliff under her starts to crack making her look down and gasp and so did Nintega as the rock under Eula breaks instantly, causing her to slip and fall.
TheNintegaGuy: EULA!
He yelled before diving off of the cliff after her before he instantly grabs one of her hands, takes out his sword, positions it into a backhand and stabs it into the side of the cliff to stop both of them from falling down from great heights. Eula looks down before back up at Nintega with extreme shock.
TheNintegaGuy: Phew! That was close...
Eula: Wh-Why did you...
TheNintegaGuy: I guess you can say that besides Jean, whim is my other master...
Suddenly, Mona called out to both of them from above the cliff.
Mona: Save all of the praise until after you two have made it back up here in one piece.
Nintega then looks back up, shooting Mona a raised eyebrow of confusion.
TheNintegaGuy: What? You jealous or something?
Mona: *scoffs* For a disciple such as you? Ridiculous!
TheNintegaGuy: *sighs* Enough with both of your condescending attitudes already. Listen... I lied okay? I know I lied. I knew from the very beginning that I was lying. But I was doing the wrong thing for the right reasons. Last time, I was the one in the middle of a conundrum as Amber and Lisa told me about their feelings for Jordan and guess what? Jordan told me that it almost caused a fight between them. Sure, things still worked out for them, but it could have still ended badly, and I just wasn't sure if I was willing to risk seeing that between you two.
Both Eula and Mona's eyes widened from this as Nintega continued.
TheNintegaGuy: I love you girls! I promise, that's not a lie and it never was! If I had to choose between you two, I couldn't! I really do love you both! But if anything meant that it would cause you two to fight over me, then I know that I couldn't let what happened with Amber and Lisa happen with you two as well. *sighs* I know what I did was wrong... and you two don't have to forgive me for it, nor do you have to be my girlfriends after this either... but at least know that... this is how I feel about both of you...
Nintega looks down towards Eula.
TheNintegaGuy: Eula, like I told you, you're strong both mentally and physically, the fact that you can fight well AND you went through years of your time in your clan through such abuse proves that. I honestly love challenging you to stuff a lot and honestly I feel encouraged every time that you swear vengeance upon me. Sometimes, I just need a little action away from my friends... and you're more than perfect for that.
Eula stared up at Nintega in complete disbelief before Nintega looks back up towards Mona.
TheNintegaGuy: Mona, ever since I met you, I've been interested in astrology. The whole reason that I was trying to find you was to actually become your disciple in the first place. And sure, I don't necessarily have to pay your rent or cover your meals, but I'm just trying to help you through life as I know that even the most disciplined of scholars need guidance too. You taught me a lot... and going forward, I'm more than willing to return the favor.
Mona's reaction was similar to Eula's as she also put a hand to her chest hearing Nintega's kind words and she also looked away a bit.
TheNintegaGuy: ...Now can someone please help me up before I lose my grip on my sword!?
Mona's eyes widened as she knew that she should've done that while Nintega was talking, but she was a little distracted to do so. She puts some Hydro magic into her hands before she traps both Eula and Nintega in a bubble that slowly lifts both of them upwards to her level. When she succeeds, she pops the bubble allowing both Nintega and Eula to land on their feet. Nintega then looks between the two girls before hanging his head down in guilt, but his guilt then turns into a serious look.
TheNintegaGuy: I never wanted this to happen, but... trying to avoid this caused this to happen in the first place. I should've been honest, but even so... I still feel that way about you two. I just hope that even after all of this drama... we can still be friends. I'm not still friends with those other four for nothing after all, but if you two want some time away from me... I completely understand. Just know... that I'm sorry. I really am sorry for this.
He finally finished his apology before walking ahead and away from Stormbearer Mountains, leaving Mona and Eula to stare after him for a moment as the two of them looked at each other contemplating on what they should do now.
As Nintega was walking, he takes a deep, solemn breath with closed eyes as while he still felt like he blew his chances with Mona and Eula, at least he got his apology out of the way... That is until he felt the hand of a certain astrologist grab his shoulder. Nintega looked over his shoulder to see Mona was the one who stopped him as she looked down for a second before back up towards Nintega.
Mona: Nintega?
While initially shocked by her sudden appearance, Nintega was able to snap out of his trance and turn himself fully to her.
TheNintegaGuy: Y-Yeah?
The girl took a deep breath before slowly turning her head up to look at him. Suddenly, she reached up with both hands and took his cheeks into them.
Mona: I... I... I love you too!
And with that, she tugs his face right into hers, placing both his and her lips together. Nintega's eyes popped open in shock as this reaction was not what he had anticipated so quickly after his apology a second ago. He stared at Mona for the longest time before closing his eyes and kissing her back for a quick second before breaking it to stare into her eyes.
TheNintegaGuy: Y-You do? E-Even after what I just did?
Mona moves her hands away from his face to grab his hands gently.
Mona: W-Well... a part of me is still mad at you for doing that, but... I can also see that you were being genuine during your confession afterwards.
TheNintegaGuy: ...How could you tell so quickly?
Mona met his question with a smirk while placing a hand on her hip.
Mona: Master astrologist, remember?
TheNintegaGuy: O-Oh... right.
Mona: Anyways, because of this, I... I decided to put my anger and... well, pride, aside... and I have decided to give you a second chance. Besides, I read nothing that says that our fate will once again meet something troublesome.
This was enough to get Nintega smiling again as he quickly wraps Mona into a hug that the astrologist had no problem reciprocating at all.
TheNintegaGuy: Then I'll do my very best as both a boyfriend and a disciple no matter what I am to you.
They both break the hug, smiling into each other's eyes before Nintega turns his attention over towards Eula who was watching the whole thing with shock. Nintega had a blank look on his face not knowing if Eula forgives him or not, but Eula's next reaction was definitely one that he didn't see coming.
Eula drops to her knees and tears start forming in her eyes as this surprised both Nintega and Mona, but the former could definitely tell what Eula was crying about as he gives her a small smile before walking over to her and he drops down to her level himself. Eula was covering her face with both of her hands, feeling really ashamed for what she almost did a moment ago.
However, Nintega just gently takes both of Eula's hands and removes her hands from her face to show her crying face. This was definitely a different side of Eula that no one besides Nintega has ever seen before as he just uses both of his fingers to wipe away the tears coming out of her eyes.
Eula: *sobbing* I-I... I'm... I-I'm...
She stuttered, unable to say what she wanted to say. Nintega, however, could already tell what it was and he shook his head before taking her hands into his.
TheNintegaGuy: I... I know. I'm sorry too, Eula.
He then hugs her gently while patting her on the back before Eula reluctantly returns it and when she fully wrapped her arms around Nintega, she held him firmly. Nintega allowed Eula to let out all of her guilt and sadness as it went on for a minute before Eula's sobbing eventually toned down a bit as they broke the hug and Eula sniffled while looking away from Nintega.
Eula: If... If you wish to seek vengeance upon me for my... for my heinous actions, then... you have my full permission to do so.
Nintega rubbed his head, wondering what he should do next until it hit him and he put on a serious face.
TheNintegaGuy: Actually... I think I know how I can achieve my vengeance.
His hands slowly went up to Eula as she braced herself for whatever it was he had planned. Then, similar to Mona's earlier action, Nintega grabbed Eula by the collar, pulled her close to him, and planted a soft, passionate kiss onto her lips. To say that Eula was baffled was an understatement as she couldn't believe that Nintega would still kiss her even after she just tried to end him earlier. Nevertheless, she found herself actually warming into it as she pushed her lips more onto his, deepening their passionate moment further.
When Nintega separates the kiss, Eula just stared into Nintega's eyes in shock.
Eula: But... why...?
TheNintegaGuy: Because most of your anger towards me was definitely justified, Eula... Honestly, I have no one to blame, but myself for getting myself into that situation.
Eula: *sighs* I still tried to needlessly end your life. That... is unforgivable.
TheNintegaGuy: Maybe the way you see it, but the way I see it... *smiles* I can overlook it this one time.
Eula still couldn't help, but feel guilty for her actions, that is until Nintega decides to ask her a question.
TheNintegaGuy: So... what exactly is gonna happen from here on out?
The Spindrift Knight breaks from her sadness for a moment and clears her throat.
Eula: W-Well, I... I did learn somewhere that... that there is no rule that bans, as some people call it... h-harem relationships, so... after a bit of talking...
The mere mention of the word "harem" made Nintega's heart skip a beat and also begin to rapidly thud in his chest as a blush quickly formed on his face.
Mona: I believe that we both have decided that... if you really do feel that strongly for us... then we'd be more than happy to... *blushes* *clears throat* t-to share you.
TheNintegaGuy: W-Wait... s-so, you two actually know about that rule? O-Or lack thereof?
Mona: W-Well, I already knew about it just from doing a bit of scry from my hydromancy, but Eula didn't at first.
TheNintegaGuy: Then how did you find out about it?
He asked Eula who looked off to the side in thought.
(Flashback)
We see a scene that occurred many weeks ago as Eula stood at a different cliff from the one before with her hand holding the leg of a certain scarf wearing Savior Knight over the cliff while the other held his Wind Glider. The whole time, she was giving him a stern glare.
Eula: You swear that this "harem" thing is true? And Amber knows that you're with Lisa too?
Jordanwolfboy9743: Y-Yes, YES!! It's true, all of it! I swear I'm not making any of this up! Now, would you please let me go?!
...
...
...
...
...
Jordanwolfboy9743: Not literally!! NOT LITERALLY!!! AHH-
(End of Flashback)
Eula: I... have my ways.
She told Nintega who simply blinked a few times.
TheNintegaGuy: Huh. Okay then.
However, seeing how the whole misunderstanding was now cleared up, Nintega stands back up onto his feet while smiling at both of his new girlfriends.
TheNintegaGuy: You guys don't know how happy I am to have you both as my new girlfriends.
Mona: *giggles* Well, technically speaking, we'd be your "newly reformed" girlfriends, silly.
Nintega nervously rubs the back of his head sheepishly as considering that he confessed to them once already, Mona had a point.
TheNintegaGuy: True...
Eula: Forgetting your original transgression already? I may need to exact vengeance upon you for that.
That was able to make Nintega both smile and chuckle as he could tell that Eula was already back to normal if she was able to make her signature vengeance line again. Nintega then brings both Mona and Eula into a group hug.
TheNintegaGuy: I truly love you two! I will never go against my word on that!
Mona: *giggles* I certainly know that of course. You're destined for a lot along with your friends, but I definitely know that for a fact, you won't change your feelings about us anytime soon.
Eula: Just so you know though, you will pay if you do forget that you love either of us.
TheNintegaGuy: Eula, I tend to forget a lot of things: where I placed a certain book or if I did all my commissions for the day, but knowing that I love you two? *smiles* That's a fact I won't ever forget.
Eula: *smirks* Hmph. Then I look forward to seeing how this polyamorous relationship goes.
Nintega grins before all three of them decide to make their way back to Mondstadt. As they walked, Mona linked one of her arms around Nintega's while Eula just had her arms crossed the entire way. As they left, they both fail to notice that a certain bard was watching the whole confession go off and he grins brightly before standing up and watching Nintega leave with Mona and Eula.
Venti: I'm glad that Mister Fearless Leader of the Honorary Knights finally found those he can love.
He then takes a deep breath of the fresh air before looking up into the air with a bright smile.
