Chapter Four: Finding Sensei
Alyssa's POV
I held the gem in my hands, looking around the rock mountain. I used the gem to teleport me onto Iwayama, I feel like maybe Cole was here, because his element is earth, but either way, I needed to find my friends. And I need to find a place to stay, just in case I can't find them soon.
I was sure glad I wore my mountain boots as I hiked up the steep mountain side with a backpack weighing me down, it was filled with seven water bottles, small bags of trail mix and extra clothes just in case it grows cold. Stuffed at the bottom was a small medical kit, just to be careful.
I passed a small village, coming across a medium sized hut. I cautiously knocked on the front door, not seeing anyone around seemed strange to me. I stood there for thirty seconds until someone opened the door, I sighed in relief and smiled at the man in front of me. His eye widened as he jerked his head out the door, looking around the village and yanking me inside.
"They cannot know you're here, if you aren't a villager the others don't like you." he explained, shutting the blinds on the window, I could tell he was definitely the chief, he had a long beard and staff, kind of like Sensei Wu.
"Where do you come from? I haven't seen any new faces since a week ago, even so it's odd." he said, handing me a glass of water. I sipped it slowly and nodded, that means someone was here in this dimension, "I'm from Ninjago, and I've come searching for some friends that were banished here." I quickly said.
He blinked slowly, as if nodding, "Ah yes, the two. I helped them for a day, and then I had to send them on their way." he told me, sitting back on the wooden floor. I leaned against the door frame and looked around at the tight space, "Do you remember what they looked like? I don't know which of my friends were banished here, we were all sent to different places."
"Of course, they had explained to me that a dark force had separated everyone from each other, and now knowing it is true, I may know who sent you all away." he admitted, pulling out a rolled up parchment from his dresser. He handed it to me and I slid it into my backpack pocket, "Do you know their names?" I asked.
"Mhm. The older one... his name was Jay? No, Wu. Yes, his name was Wu. And the younger boy in blue with the strange colored hair, his name was Jay." he told me. I smiled wide, I was happy that I was finding a Sensei first, because I can't continue this search on my own.
"Do you know which way they went?" I questioned, placing my water on the table beside the door. Once again, he nodded. He used his finger to point the directions to me, "I told them to continue climbing, to never stop in fear of someone finding them. They continued east, up a steep mountain ahead, they left my eye sight once they took a rigid trail to the left." he explained.
I soaked in everything he told me and nodded, "Thank you, you certainly have helped. I need to go though, if I want to find all my friends. Thanks, again." I ranted, the older man shook his head as I tried to leave through the door, he led me down a narrow hallway and opened a back door, poking his head out to check if anyone was there. He held it open as I walked to it, "Go directly east, don't let anyone see you. Once you climb the mountain, you should take a left turn, and hopefully you will be able to find them, good luck." he said with a smile before closing the door.
I sprinted slightly to the right, finding a steep mountain. I fastened the straps on my backpack and began climbing, holding ledge after ledge. I pulled myself onto a wide edge, dragging my knees up.
I looked around seeing two paths I could follow, the left led to a small cave opening that was very small, opening into a hole in the ceiling where I would continue climbing. The right was a dead end, coming to a death-defying drop.
I stepped to the left path, entering a dim cave. I only needed to walk seven or so feet until the cave wall stopped, leaving a dead end too. I jumped up and gripped the small hole in the ceiling, lugging myself on top of the rock. I grabbed a water bottle from the small side pocket in my bag and opened it, taking small gulps as I walked forwards on the only path.
As I screwed on the lid, I heard voices above me. I stopped in my tracks, thinking it was just me hearing things, but then I heard them again, right over my head. I looked up seeing a narrow path above my head, "Hello?" I asked. The footsteps stopped and I froze, maybe I just gave myself away to villagers, "Anyone there? I kind of need help." I said, hoping they weren't villagers.
I saw Jay's head poke out over the edge and I sighed in relief, "Alyssa!" he chirped. Sensei Wu appeared too and I smiled, "Thank goodness, come down here!" I shouted back.
Moments later, Jay and Sensei appeared next to me and I gave them long needed hugs, "Did you find anyone else?" Jay asked me, I shook my head, "This was the first dimension I searched."
"So you did snoop in my drawers?" Sensei grinned. I chuckled, "I thought there mught be something useful there, and I was right. The gem of dimensions, and a map. Which is very handy."
"We should return to Ninjago at once, they must nt be faring well with our disappearance." Sensei directed, "Yeah, people are going crazy. Thinking there are no rules now." I agreed.
"We need to find the others." Jay argued, "We return tonight, and tomorrow you and Jay will go search another dimension, and I will stay to look over Ninjago."
