(Alyssa's POV)

"Cole?" I started to speak to him to get his attention.

"Yeah? What's up sis?" Cole replied looking up, his chocolate brown eyes making contact with my carmel ones.

"Did you remember anything about me before...you know.....?" I question him and look to the floor. This topic makes me uncomfortable.

"I... uh, really don't remember much. I do remember when you first started sneaking out of the house to go play softball and your other sports. Dad was furious." He told me and chuckled.

"Yeah..." I reply shifting my gaze to the window.

"I'm gonna go check on Emma. You'll be okay?" Cole said getting up from his position on the couch. I nodded, "I'll be fine."

Cole walked out of the living room and I shifted my position on the couch, tapping my finger on my thigh.

I sat deep in thought and didn't even notice the door open behind me. I was thinking about everything going on. My sister, Cole, Emily. Everything was changing. Cole called my parents last night and told them we had some news about Emma, but we didn't tell them what. Emma was going to see them tomorrow, and hopefully they'll take the news well.

"Alyssa," Kai called out, pressing a hand to my shoulder. I snapped into reality and smiled at him, moving my legs for him to sit down. "I found this by the door," he said, digging a white envelope out of his pocket. I raised an eyebrow in confusion and hesitantly took it.
