Drabble #18
Prompt; Wilmer surprising Demi for Thanksgiving.
Demi's POV
My eyes opened, and I immediately wanted to shut them again.
Thanksgiving.
Worst. Holiday. Ever.
Of course, I love the message behind it, being with family and friends all letting them know how thankful you are for them and how much you love them. It's absolutely wonderful, until you bring all of the food into the equation. I checked my phone and saw no messages from Wilmer, which kind of hurt. Normally he'd be texting and calling me throughout the day to make sure I was okay since this year he's not with me. I'm a lot stronger than I was my first Thanksgiving out of treatment, but I had all of my family around me which helped a lot, this year I have to rely on my crew which is going to be tough even though I love them like family it's just not the same.
With a groan I got up and stretched, then caught sight of myself in the mirror, instantly my mind went to bad thoughts and I shook my head, turning away fromt he mirror in shame, I'd defnitnely put on a few pounds. There was a knock on my door of the hotel room, and I sighed, knowing it was someone from the crew telling me to get up. I walked over and pulled it open, then jumped back with a scream.
"WILMER!" I threw myself into his arms, holding him tightly as though he'd disappear right in front of me if I ever let go.
"Hey baby." He said with a chuckle, "Miss me?"
"Yes!" I squealed, and pressed my lips to his quickly, nearly moaning at the feeling I'd been missing for so long. "But what are you doing here?"
Wilmer tucked a piece of my hair behind my ear, his fingers curling under my jawbone as the mood suddenly turned serious, "My girl needed me, so I'm here."
I could feel tears coming to my eyes as I shook my head and buried my face into his chest, "I love you so much." I whispered, my arms going around his waist. Wilmer wrapped his arms around the tops of my shoulders and held me tightly, kissing my hair as he stood there for a second, relishing in the feeling of being in each other's arms.
"Thank you for coming." I murmured, "I don't think I would've made it thought today without you in all honesty."
Wilmer smiled, "I have faith in you beautiful."
