In The Apartment...

Sid was trying to find a bandage for his finger when suddenly his eyes fell on the book which Sana bought while returning. It was kept on a side of the bed. Sid took the book in his hand and looked at it carefully.

"Yeh book toh pregnant auraton ke liye hai. Sana ne iss book ko kyu kharida?" He thought.

At that very moment, his phone started ringing. It was Sana's call. At first he thought that he wouldn't pick the call. But then thinking something he picked it as his instinct was telling him that there was something wrong.

"What happened Sana?" Sid asked picking up the call.

Sid heard a male voice who was speaking something in Kannada. He became confused.

"Hello! Who's this? I'm not understanding anything. Can you please speak in Hindi or English?" Sid said.

"Yeh phone jiska bhi hai unka bohut bada accident hua hai. We have informed the ambulance. We are taking her to the City Hospital. Please come fast." The man said.

Floor slipped beneath Sid's feet hearing the news. He got very much anxious.

"Ac...cident?.... Meri Sana......"

Sid couldn't say anything else and cut the call. Without wasting any time he left for the hospital.

In The Hospital...

Sid came to the hospital hurrying. He looked here and there to find his Sana. Being too much panicked, he even forgot to check in the reception.

At that very moment, an ambulance came to the hospital. Sana was taken out of the ambulance in a stretcher. There were two or three people with her.

Some staffs entered the hospital with the stretcher. As soon as they entered, Sid's eyes fell on them.

"Sana!" He said loudly and went to her.

He got scared seeing Sana all covered with blood. He started moving with the stretcher.

"Sana! Sana kya hua tujhe? Aankhe khol Baby. Dekh main hoon, tera Sid! Sana...." Sid said holding her hand and started crying like a child.

Immediately some doctors came there.

"Emergency case?" The doctor asked to which the staffs nodded in yes.

"Doctor dekhiye na meri Sana ko kya hua hai. Woh apni aankhein nahi khol rahi hai. Kuch bol bhi nahi rahi." Sid said while crying.

"Relax! We have to check her first." The doctor said trying to calm Sid down.

Then he said to the staffs, "Bring her to the cabin."

Soon their hands got separated and Sana was taken to the cabin.

Sid kept watching her with blurred eyes and blood strain on his hands and shirt. Like this he sat on a chair.

After sometime the doctor came to Sid.

Seeing the doctor, Sid asked hopefully, "Doctor meri Sana thik hai na bilkool? Kuch nahi hua hai usse?"

"Bohut saara blood lose ho chuka hai. There are several injuries on her body, specially on her head. Humein immediately operation karna hoga otherwise we won't be able to save her life." The doctor replied.

"Kya kaha apne?" Sid asked angrily. "Listen you have to save her life at any cost. Kuch bhi ki jiye lekin usse bachaiye. If anything happens to her, I won't spare you."

"I know that you are not in a right state of mind. Lekin mere upar chilla ne se kuch nahi hoga. Hum operation ki taiyari karte hai aap please jaake formalities puri ki jiye."

Sid realised that he was overreacting and said looking down, "Sorry!"

"It's ok."

Saying that the doctor left. 

Sid went to the reception and filled-up the forms. After that Sana was taken to the OT.

Sid again sat on the chair while praying for Sana's well-being.

Suddenly someone kept his hand on his shoulder. Sid looked at the person with moist eyes. It was none other than Agastya.

"Kaisi hai woh?" Agastya asked.

"OT mein le ke gaye hai usse. Doctor keh rahe the bohut blood lose hua hai. Immediately operation karna hoga." Sid replied without any expression on his face.

Though he was mad at Agastya, he was not in a state of mind to shout at him.

Agastya sat beside Sid.

"Ghar lautne ke baad maine usse call kiya tha, sab kuch thik hai yaa nahi yeh puchne ke liye. Tab mujhe paata chala ki uska accident hua hai. Lekin itni raat ko woh ghar se bahar nikli hi kyu thi?" He asked further.

"She left the apartment." Sid replied. "Accident ke kuch hi der pehle we broke up. I was the one who asked her to....."

Sid couldn't say anything. Tears were flowing from his eyes.

On the other hand, Agastya became shocked hearing that.

"What?" Agastya asked with disbelief. "Break up? But why?"

"Shouldn't you be happy? Tumhara raasta jo clear hogaya." Sid said to Agastya in a sarcastic way.

"Raasta? Kaunsa raasta?" Agastya asked being confused.

Sid couldn't control his anger anymore and said griting his teeth, "Don't pretend to be so innocent Mr. Agastya Raichand. I know that you love Sana and even proposed her. Aur aaj hum yaaha aise khade hai woh sirf tumhari wajah se. Our life became so much complicated just because of you."

Now Agastya understood everything.

"It didn't happen because of me." He said. "Haan maine Roshni ko propose kiya tha...."

"Shehnaaz naam hai uska." Sid said interrupting him.

Agastya sighed and said, "Maine Shehnaaz ko propose kiya tha kyu ki uss waqt mujhe nahi paata tha ki woh committed hai. Aur paata hone ke bawajood bhi mujhe yeh kehne mein koi hesitation nahi ho rahi hai ki main Shehnaaz se pyaar karta hoon. I love her and there is nothing wrong in it. Woh hai hi aisi ladki, dusro ko samajh ne wali, dusro ki madat karne wali. Uss se toh kisi ko bhi pyaar ho jayega. Mujhe bhi ho gaya."

Saying that Agastya became lost remembering the moments he spent with Sana.

Sid looked at Agastya and saw genuine love in his eyes. Now he was not feeling angry at him anymore.

After sometime Agastya came out of his thoughts and said, "But you know what, you should feel lucky. Kyu ki woh sirf tumse pyaar karti hai woh bhi itna ki tum imagine bhi nahi kar sakte. Uski kahi hui har baaton mein sirf tumhara zikr hota tha. Woh toh main bewakoof tha isliye kuch samajh nahi paaya aur soch baitha ki woh mujhse pyaar karti hai. But the truth is uske liye pyaar ka matlab sirf Sidharth hai. Jab maine usse propose kiya usne ek second bhi nahi lagaya mujhe reject karne mein. Yaaha tak ki usne yeh bhi kaha ki woh tumhare alawa kabhi kisi aur se pyaar kar hi nahi paayegi."

Sid started feeling guilty. He remembered since school days she had loved him selflessly but he blamed her for nothing. He let his insecurities grow so much that his love became so small in front of it. And now when he actually realised that his insecurity was meaningless, his love was fighting for her life in the operation theatre.

"You are right. It didn't happen because of you. It happened because of me. Saari galti meri hai. I'm not worth her love." Sid said trying hard not to cry.

"Aisa nahi hai. Jab hum kisi se bohut zyada pyaar karte hai toh yeh jealousy, insecurities humare andar aa jaati hai. Akhir hum bhi toh insaan hai. But we should always trust our love. Specially when the love is so deep and pure." Agastya said.

"I will trust her. Bas ab hogaya. Ab aur koi galti nahi hogi. Lekin..... Meri Sana thik toh ho jayegi na?"

"I'll pray for her. Apne pyaar ko khone ka dard kya hota hai yeh main acche se jaanta hoon..... Don't worry she will be fine."

Saying that Agastya stood up.

"Jab maine suna tha ki Shehnaaz ka accident hua hai, I thought that I would cancel my New York flight. Lekin yaaha aa ke lag raha hai she needs you much more than me. Usse kabhi mat chhor na." He said and started leaving.

"What about your love?" Sid asked to which Agastya stopped and turned to him.

He gave a slight smile and said, "Maybe I'll find my love someday. Shehnaaz...... Is yours."

Agastya left. Sid also gave a slight smile.

"Bas tu thik ho jaa. Main sab kuch pehle jaisa kar dunga." He said in his mind.

Suddenly he saw a nurse coming out of the operation theatre.

Sid went to her and asked, "How's she?"

"The operation is going on. We can't say anything now. The mother's life is at risk as well the baby's."

Sid frowned hearing the nurse's statement.

"Baby?" He asked.

"Yeah. Don't you know that she is pregnant? In this early stage of pregnancy, this kind of serious accident can cause miscarriage. Her condition is even critical. Maybe we have to lose the baby or both of them. We are just trying our best."

Saying that the nurse left.

Sid sat on the chair with a jerk. He was numb to know that Sana was carrying their baby. He remembered what she said in the morning.

"Tujhe ek news deni hai. Someone is coming."

Now Sid understood that she was talking about their baby. She decorated the house, dressed up in that blue saree just to give him the news of her pregnancy. Suddenly he felt very much happy.

"Humara baccha? Main Papa ban ne wala hoon?" He asked in his mind while smiling.

But suddenly his smile faded away thinking of the nurse's words.

Sid immediately went to the mini temple of the hospital which he saw while entering. There was an idol of lord Ganesha.

Sid fell on his knees in front of the idol while folding his hands.

"Mujhe paata hai maine bohut galat kiya hai Sana ke saath. Bewajah uske pyaar par shak kiya. Usse itna kuch sunaya. Lekin uss galti ki saza Sana aur mere hone wale bacche ko nahi milni chahiye. Ho sake toh meri zindagi bhi aap unhe de di jiye. Magar Sana aur mere bacche ko bacha li jiye."

Saying that Sid started crying.
