Chapter 21 - I'm here!
10 pm. Arshi's room.
"Arnav.." she uttered softly after she turned to his side of the bed and found him awake, "What happened? Why are you not sleeping?"
"Thinking.." he replied curtly, still staring at the ceiling.
"About?" she asked.
"Our break up.. The way we got married.. My sister's deeds.. Your and Shyam's friendship.. Sheetal and Aarav sudden entry in my life.. and the possibility of him being my son. Everything is a mess in my life. This is not what I had planned," he sighed, running his left hand's fingers through his thick hair.
"You must be regretting the day I walked in your life.. that's when everything changed in your perfect life.. even your relationship with Anjali!" Khushi said with a small smiled, blinking her eyes rapidly to hide her tears.
Arnav frowned on hearing her words, turning his head to her side, "I love you Khushi.. and I don't regret bringing you in my life. But I just wanted to go back in past and make our love story better.. erase all the misunderstandings, our break up, our quick wedding, Di and Sheetal's drama.. and create even more beautiful memories with you.. and marry you the way You dreamt!"
"It's okay Arnav,"
"It's not okay Khushi.. This is not what I wanted. Not what you wanted. And not what our family wanted to happen."
"But life is never perfect Arnav.. Yes, we never imagined this to happen in our life.. We thought we met, we liked each other, our families discussed about our marriage and we would get married happily.. but nothing happened of that sort. So what? I'm still here with you and you're with me. You still didn't forgive me for not trusting you and break our relationship. I'm still trying to make things alright between us. Anjali is still trying to separate us. Sheetal claims that Aarav is your son. Despite all this happening in our life, I know that we're here for each other, not against each other Arnav. That's what matters.. Life was never easy Arnav. And if it's throwing these obstacles in our path, let's face it together."
"And.. what if Aarav is really my son? Will you still be here with me?" he asked, staring intently at her.
Khushi moved closer to him, resting her head on his chest, she caressed the back of his hair lightly with her delicate fingers, staring into his chocolate brown eyes, "I will Arnav.. Even if Aarav turns out to be your son, I will be here with you!"
Arnav wrapped his arms around her back, and dropped a kiss on her hair.
"But I've a feeling that he's not my son," he whispered, "And unfortunately, Di is behind all this."
"Well.. I'm 100% sure of that Arnav," Khushi said staring at nothing in particular, "Just think.. Who invited Sheetal here? Your sister.. Who still hates me? Your sister.. Who wants to separate us? Your sister.. So it's really possible that she and Sheetal planned this."
"It would be heartbreaking for me to know that my sister can make me accept a son that isn't mine, just to separate me from you, so that she can have my attention reserved all for her," he whispered brokenly, "I love Di so much.. I never thought she would do something like this with me.. She's like my mother.. Why did she turn herself into this evil woman that I don't recognize anymore?" his eyes turned moist, as he sighed.
Khushi looked up at him, but he immediately caressed her head then pretended to cover themselves properly with the blanket, "It's already late.. We should sleep," he said avoiding eye contact with her, as he didn't want to show her, his tears.
Khushi who had been observing him till now, cupped his face, forcing him to look at her, "You can cry in front of me Arnav. Don't shut yourself. Share with me all you want."
He looked intently at her, before letting a lone tear escape from his right eye as he cupped her cheek lovingly, "You'll always.. be my Khushi, right? You won't change like-"
Khushi leaned her lips on his for a passionate kiss, not letting him utter Anjali's name.
"I'll always be your Khushi. The one you fell in love with," she spoke in low tone, after they broke the kiss.

Anjali and Shyam's room.
Tip-tip barsaa paani
Tip-tip barsaa paani
Paani ne aag lagaayi
Aag lagi dil mein to
Dil ko teri yaad aayi
Teri yaad aayi to
Jal uthaa mera bheega badan
Ab tum hi batao sajan
Main kya karu
Shyam pressed his lips tightly to suppress his laugh after watching Anjali dancing in front of him, as he was settled at the edge of the bed.
Anjali approached him still dancing, and fell on his lap, shaking her head vigorously making her long hair slap Shyam's face each time she turned her head sideways with force.
"Is she seducing me or hitting me with her witch's hair?" he thought, while rubbing his cheek with a pout.
"Rani Sahiba," he stammered interrupting the lost in her world Anjali. She turned to him questioningly, "What happened Shyam ji?"
"Err.. you're showering me with your dandruff," he smiled sheepishly, patting his shoulders.
"What?" she furrowed her brows.
"Oh don't worry Rani Sahiba.. I'll buy you Head & Shoulders Classic Clean Daily Anti-dandruff shampoo," he cupped her face lovingly.
Anjali shoved his hands away, gritting her teeth, "Stop it Shyam ji! I don't have dandruff."
"Don't be embarrassed my Rani Sahiba.. I'm your husband.. You can share everything with me.. even about your dandruff. I'll surely buy you shampoo tomorrow," he smiled sweetly.
Anjali glared at him, "Stop it Shyam ji. It's seems you're more interested in talking rubbish than making love to me."
"You think dandruff is rubbish?" he faked disbelief.
"What's wrong with you?" Anjali yelled.
"Me.. Nothing.." he shook his head, feigning innocence.
Frustratedly, Anjali got up from his lap and took her phone angrily turning off the music that was playing. Shyam sighed in relief as he laid on the bed, smiling thinking that he escaped from her.
"I didn't say for you to sleep!" Anjali gritted her teeth. Shyam sat on the bed immediately, obeying her words.
Anjali walked back to sit beside him, as she stared coldly and intently at him. Shyam faked a smile, gulping.
"Since the day Khushi entered in our lives, not only Chote but you also changed," she spoke intimidating him with her gaze.
"Yes.. Partner made me remember that I've a heart too!" Shyam thought with a cute smile playing on his lips.
"Oh.. You started smiling also by the mention of her name," Anjali smiled sarcastically.
Shyam looked at her startled and nodded sideways, "No.."
"By the way, you haven't told me yet why did Khushi messaged you that day her parents wanted to get her married to another man? Why didn't she message Akash or Aman? Why did it had to be exactly you? With whom she doesn't share any special relation with? She hated you, right?"
Shyam gulped, "Woh.. she doesn't hate me.. she just doesn't like me because of that day she accused me of misbehaving with her at that restaurant.. and I hate her because of everything she did with you Rani Sahiba.. but leaving all this behind, she was going to be a part of Raizada family, and it wouldn't look good if we didn't had each other's phone numbers. After all we're a family. So we did exchanged our phone numbers one random day! And that day she messaged me because everyone in the family wasn't answering her calls nor replying her messages. Do you remember that everyone was angry with her for breaking up with Sale Sahab? So she desperately messaged me and I replied her."
"You replied her?" Anjali chuckled mockingly, "Do you even realize that if you hadn't replied to her that day then she would have been married to another man and Chote would be free of that woman? He would love me back again like in past. But you spoiled everything. Are you on my side or hers?"
"Of course yours Rani Sahiba.."
"Then why did you replied to her that day? Why did you say to Chote that her parents wanted to get her married?" Anjali yelled.
Shyam gasped, "Rani Sahiba.. I didn't do it purposely. I'm your baby, right? Don't I've the right to commit a mistake? I'm sorry.. please forgive your baby!"
He rested his head on her lap, shutting his eyes tightly acting like a guilty baby. Anjali finally melted seeing his act, she ruffled his hair, sighing, "It's okay.. It's not your fault that Chote is so dumb!"
"You're the only dumb here! It's because of Sale Sahab that I've my room, my bedroom, my study room!" he thought, while nodding at her acting like agreeing to her words.

Next day. Gupta mansion.
Gupta family were having their breakfast early in the morning while discussing about their little one, Khushi.
"Khushi told me not to worry because they will handle everything, but what do I do.. I just couldn't sleep all the night yesterday thinking about my Doll and my Sona munda. What did they do to deserve this? They're so in love.. starting a beautiful relationship but Anjali came in between and turned everything into a mess," Garima said upset.
"Right Amma.. I'm just so angry and disgusted with that Anjali.. she managed to make Khushi think wrong about Arnav and break up with him.. now he's upset with her and didn't forgive her yet.. she ruined their plans of a beautiful wedding.. and now she brought his so called college friend and cooked up this disgusting story.. she's still trying to get her brother divorced and tie him with another woman who he doesn't even have feelings for.. and on top of that, they brought a child.. we don't even know if it's Arnav's or not," Payal shook her head disgusted.
Shashi sighed helplessly staring at nothing in particular, "My princess's life is a mess right now. I just hope she and Arnav manages to handle this situation."
"Of course they will.. what always make me feel relieved is the fact that I know Arnav bitwa loves Khushi a lot. Even now that he's upset with her, his eyes always shows love and concern for her. And I'm completely sure that Anjali might try whatever she wants to separate them, she will never succeed in her plans," Garima spoke confidently.
"I hope so.. also Arnav needs to take an action against his sister now," Shashi frowned, "She's crossing the limits now."
"Right," Payal replied, while typing something on her phone which made her lips curve into a shy smile.
Shashi raised his brow, "Must be someone special who send you a message early in morning."
"Hmm.. It's Akash," Payal spoke, lost in her dream world.
"What the.." Shashi yelled dramatically, startling both, Garima and Payal.
"See I had told you Garima these Raizada men would steal my daughters from me. One already took my little one, the other one is on the way!"
"So?.. It's good only. Akash is such handsome and intelligent man. They make a great couple. And since we couldn't get Khushi married the way we want.. We can make a double grand marriage this time," Garima spoke smiling brightly as the idea just came up in her mind.
"Perfect idea Amma!" Payal squealed.
"What??? So you want to get married to Akash?" Shashi looked at his daughter shocked.
"Not now Babu ji," Payal tried to calm him down.
"Great.. but someday you want to get married to him, right?" Shashi asked sarcastically.
Payal bit her lips smiling shyly, "Woh.. I like him Babu ji!"
"Hayee hayee.. she's blushing!" Garima giggled.
Shashi shook his head smiling, "Ok now officially I lost my two daughters to Raizada brothers!"
"Babu ji stop talking like this.. You haven't lost us.." Payal whined, as she stood up from her chair and side hugged her father, "Me and Khushi love you and Amma a lot!"
"I know," Shashi whispered with a smile, emotionally. Garima smiled faintly staring at them.

At 3pm.
Khushi walked in Arnav's cabin and found Arnav, Akash and Aman there with serious look.
She closed the door behind, staring at them, "What happened guys? Why did you call me urgently here Arnav?"
"We found out about Aarav," Aman said.
"What?" Khushi approached them curiously.
"Aarav is neither my child nor Sheetal's," Arnav said. Khushi smiled lightly and hugged him, "See.. I told you!" then she broke the hug and frowned slightly, "But how did you guys got to know that?"
"Sonia is Sheetal's friend and neighbor and they live in the same apartment building. Sonia is Aarav's single mother," Akash replied, "And she is missing!"
Khushi gasped with wide eyes as realization dawned upon her, "Oh my God.. It all makes sense now.. Sheetal forcefully took Aarav to present him as Arnav's son and she's been threatening Aarav to keep quiet and obey her orders otherwise she'll hurt his mother. That's why he's always scared and quiet whenever she's around."
Khushi looked at Arnav with moist eyes, "Arnav we need to save his mother.. We need to help Aarav reunite with his mother."
"We will Khushi.. Don't worry," he caressed her shoulder, trying to calm her.
"Sheetal.. Anjali.. they're so disgusting.. How can they do this with an innocent child and his mother?" Khushi sobbed, disgusted. Things were turning dirty at each move they took forward.
Arnav made her rest her head on his chest as he wrapped his arms around her, staring at Aman and Akash with a tensed look.
