After exactly an hour traffic got clear and the honk sound started echoing in the whole atmosphere. Neil straightened his back and about to start the car but then realised he was still holding her hand.

Avni pulled her hand back when he loosened the grip and licked her lips consciously. Neil started the car and again their memorable yet precious journey began. He glanced at her time to time but she was busy in admiring the outside scenery.

Neil smiled softly recalling their conversation that took place an hour before. A much needed for both of them but she still didn't open up much to him. After that conversation they just sat in silence not talking to each other but thinking about only each other.

Neil: so how have you been?

Avni looked at him and smiled softly.

Avni: good and you?

Neil: what do you think?

Avni frowned but then shrugged it off. She so wanted to ask him about HER but her heart hadn't been strong enough to listen him speaking about his love. But she doesn't know just like her his life had also taken a huge turn.

Avni: um how is she? I mean mrs.khanna?

Neil thought she was asking about his mother. His brows furrowed and instantly his mood switched from happy to an angry bird. He clenched his jaw and clutched the steering wheel tightly making her more scared. At that time he only wanted peace and some good heartfelt talk with her but she also ruined his mood mentioning an unwanted part of his life. His eyes still glued to the road but he could sense her frightened because of him. In college she had never seen his aggression or bad behaviour. He was always sweet and nice to everyone but this neil was totally different according to her. She thought he didn't like her interfering his life and this thought made her more sad.

Avni: I I mean I was just asking don't think like

Neil: I don't want to talk about it please

His tone was enough to make her quite after that only silence prevailed between them. Soon to her like and his despise their journey came to a halt. He saw her moving out without uttering a word to him.

Neil: avni

He called softly and she turned looking at him.

Neil: I am sorry if you felt bad but she means nothing to me. Hope you understand.

His these words made her awestruck and confused. Means nothing to him? What he is saying? What happened to them? She thought. But she was not knowing that he was talking about his step mother.

She just nodded and quickly got out from the car after saying him bye. While he stayed there looking at her retreating figure until it disappeared from his sight. He drove to his home but was missing her presence badly.

Avni entered inside and saw dadaji and abhimaan's mother were sitting in a living room. Dadaji was happy and excited hearing about her first step towards the success. They had dinner and retired to their room.

She was feeling so happy and relaxed by abhimaan's absence. She changed her clothes and wore comfortable night suit. The tiredness was evident on her face. Her back hit the mattress and she closed her eyes feeling relaxed after the most hectic day which was filled with excitement, questions and so many things.

Her reverie broke due to the sound of her phone's ringtone. Her face lighten up seeing the name of caller id. It was from riya. As soon as avni answered the call she bombarded her with tons of questions.

Riya: you avni I didn't know you will forget me this soon after your marriage. Now who will be my friend I will be alone through out the whole life.

Avni: ho gaya? Ya abhi bhi kuch baaki hai? Dramebaaz

Riya was astonished hearing her cheerful voice and smiled thinking she is accepting this marriage.

Riya: wow avi you are sounding happy today hmm seems like someone is getting habitual to her husband abhimaan.

Avni: please don't ruin my mood I don't want to spoil my night and he is not the reason behind my happiness.

Riya: then?

Avni: first listen to me carefully then react okay?

Riya: okay shoot now I am already very curious

Avni told her everything everything means every single detail from day to night that she had went through. From her getting call for an interview by NK company, neil being her boss, his threat and at last their last conversation in car.

Riya: OMG now you are really changed itna sab kuch ho gaya and you are telling me now. I am so upset with you.

Avni: riya it's not the time to be upset at morning when I received the call by them I got excited but then abhimaan denied me to do the job

Riya: what how dare he

Avni: but dadaji handled everything. He is so so so nice he took my side against abhimaan and finally I got to do this

Riya: okay that's good. How is neil by the way?

Avni: he is so difficult to understand at one moment I feel like he is same as before but another moment he proves me wrong by his behaviour

Riya: may be they broke up?

Avni: I don't know from his tone it got clear he doesn't like to talk anything about her but I am still confused

Riya: so you should have asked him

Avni: I don't wanted to ruin his mood more so I dropped the idea

Riya: hmm that means you have still the chance with neil

Avni: riya stop it. Now this isn't matter I just want to work hard and don't want to complicate the things more

Riya: you are also right. Okay let's meet tomorrow what say?

Avni: cool I will be waiting for you

Riya: okay now good night sleep tight and dream about neil

Before avni could say riya disconnected the call. Avni chuckled and shook her head. She closed her eyes and his smiling face flashed in her mind making her smile too.

This is the last update of this month. There is so much workload of practicals and my exams are approaching. I would not able to update any of my book. So wait till December. I wasn't sure if I could be able to update this today but then thought they would stuck in a traffic till December so have to write it 😁
