Shaam Gulabi

The second day in Kerala dawned bright and early. Prachi and Ranbir had barely gotten any sleep, caught up in the magic of the previous night, but the excitement of the day's adventures soon had them both energized.

Shaam gulabi, sehar gulabi

The time is pink and this city is pink)

(Music)

After a leisurely breakfast by the beach at Leela Kovalam, the couple was ready to embark on their next adventure.

Today's itinerary included Chembra Peak, Wayanad's highest point, followed by the Kumbalangi Model Village Experience, offering them a blend of nature, culture, and tradition.

Shaam gulabi, sehar gulabi

Pehar gulabi hai gulabi yeh shehar

(The evening is pink, the morning is pink

The time is pink and this city is pink(

As they arrived at the base of Chembra Peak, the scenic beauty around them was breathtaking. The lush green landscapes, the towering trees, and the misty atmosphere made it feel like they had stepped into a paradise.

Main bhi gulabi, tu hai gulabi

Din bhi gulabi hai gulabi yeh kehar

(I'm pink and you're pink as well

The day is pink and this craziness is pink)

Prachi looked around in awe, her hand instinctively reaching for Ranbir's.

Gulabi dori hai, bandhi yeh chori hai

Na jora jori, na seena zori hai

(This secret is tied with a pink thread

There's no force and no ego)

Prachi (smiling):

"Yeh jagah toh bilkul dreams ki tarah lag rahi hai, Ranbir. Kitna peaceful hai(This place looks like a dream, Ranbir. How peaceful!)"

Gulabi dori hai, bandhi yeh chori hai

Na roka toki hai, na seena zori hai

(This secret is tied with a pink thread

There's no interruption and no ego)

Ranbir (grinning):

"Ha, aur hum dono yahaan, ek dusre ke saath... perfect(And here we both are, with each other... perfect.)"

They started the trek up the hill, with the local guide leading them. The path was a bit challenging, but Prachi was determined. Ranbir, on the other hand, kept pace with her, offering a hand whenever she needed help, though she didn't want to show it, wanting to prove she was as strong as him. But Ranbir was quick to remind her that he'd always be there to catch her, even if she stumbled.

Raah bhi gulabi, yeh naav bhi gulabi

Dariya mein joh main bahoon gulabi

(The path is pink and this boat is also pink

The river in which I flow is pink)

After a while, they reached a clearing with a heart-shaped lake in the middle of the forest. The view was magical. The lake, surrounded by rolling hills, seemed like it was straight out of a romantic movie.

Kahoon bhi gulabi, main sahoon bhi gulabi

Lagta hai main rahoon gulabi

(I speak pink and I bear pink as well

It seems like I'll remain pink)

Prachi (sighing in wonder):

"Ranbir, yeh kitna beautiful hai! Yeh lake... yeh views... perfect(Ranbir, this is so beautiful! This lake... these views... perfect!)"

Ranbir pulled her close, wrapping his arm around her shoulders. They stood in silence for a few minutes, just soaking in the beauty of the moment.

Jaane re jaane mann jaane hai rang

Rang gulabi hai preet ro

(This heart knows that

The colour of love is pink)

Ranbir (softly):

"Yeh moment, Prachi... hum dono ke beech jo pyaar hai, uski tarah pure aur perfect hai. Tum mere saath ho, aur yeh sab kuch perfect ban gaya(This moment, Prachi... is as complete and perfect as the love that exists between us. You are with me, and everything became perfect.)"

Prachi smiled, looking up at him with love in her eyes. They exchanged a quiet, tender kiss, the kind that only two people deeply in love can share in such a place.

Jaane re jaane sab jaane hai rang

Rang gulabi hai preet ro

(Everyone knows that

The colour of love is pink)

After their trek, they made their way to Kumbalangi, a small fishing village known for its unique model of eco-tourism. The village was an untouched blend of nature, with coconut palms swaying in the breeze and traditional Kerala houses dotted across the land.

Jaane re jaane sab jaane hai rang

Rang gulabi hai preet ro

As they explored the village, they were introduced to the way of life of the people who lived there. Ranbir and Prachi were fascinated by the sustainable living practices—how the village emphasized organic farming, local fish farming, and cultural preservation.

Gulabi dori hai, bandhi yeh chori hai

Na jora jori, na seena zori hai

Prachi (with wonder):

"Yeh log itna simple aur happy kyun lagte hain? Their way of living... it's so peaceful(Why do these people look so simple and happy? Their way of living...it's so peaceful.)"

Ranbir (nodding):

"True. Life is about simplicity. Agar hum thoda sa complex life se baahar nikle, toh shayad humare andar bhi yeh peace aa sakta hai(True. Life is about simplicity. If we step out of complex life a little, then perhaps this peace can come within us too.)"

Gulabi dori hai, bandhi yeh chori hai

They visited the local fishing boats, where the fishermen showed them how they catch fish using traditional methods. Prachi was fascinated by the entire process and had a few fun moments as she tried her hand at fishing, with Ranbir teasing her about how "she might actually be better than him" at it.

Vaidh gulabi, chain gulabi

Dawa bhi gulabi hai gulabi hai asar

(The doctor is pink and peace is pink

The medicine and its effect is also pink)

Prachi (laughing as she missed the fish):

"Tum toh bas mujhe tease kar rahe ho, Ranbir! Yahan toh fishing ke liye bhi tumhara support chahiye(You are just teasing me, Ranbir! Your support is needed here for fishing also!)"

Ranbir (grinning):

"Don't worry, Prachi. You'll catch one fish and I will help the next one, promise!"

Naam gulabi, yeh nain gulabi

Nain gulabi hai gulabi hai safar haan

(The name is pink, these eyes are pink

And with the pink eyes, the journey is pink as well)

The couple spent the rest of the afternoon learning about Kerala's rich culture—its arts, crafts, and the ancient practices of boat making. They also spent time in a quaint coconut farm, where they were taught how to climb a tree, which Ranbir jokingly failed at, much to Prachi's delight.

Haule gulabi hai tezz gulabi

Karte shararat lab bhi gulabi re

(Slowness is pink, speed is pink

Our naughty lips are also pink)

As the evening approached, they sat by the water, watching the sunset over the horizon. The sky turned golden, reflecting the peacefulness that had come to define the day.

Prachi (gazing out over the water):

"Ranbir, yeh sab kitna calm hai... tumhare saath har cheez special lagti hai(Ranbir, all this is so wonderful...everything feels special with you.)"

Ranbir (leaning his head on her shoulder):

"Hum dono ke saath... sab kuch perfect hai. Yeh trip, yeh moment... humare liye(With both of us... everything is perfect. This trip, this moment... for us.)"

Chhu le gulabi rangrez gulabi

Haule le chal tezz gulabi

(Touch me pink, colour me pink

Hey pink, take me slow, take me fast)

They sat there for a while, lost in the serenity of the place, as the sound of the water lapping against the shore and the chirping of distant birds filled the air. It was a peaceful and perfect moment to end a day filled with adventures.

The Next Morning:

Ranbir, ever attentive, suggested they do something fun and modern.

Ranbir (grinning):

"Prachi, ek idea hai. Lulu Mall chalenge? Shopping, food, aur thoda chill karenge(Prachi, I have an idea. Shall we go to Lulu Mall? Shopping, food, and chill a bit.)"

Jiya jale, jaan jale

Nainon tale dhuaan chale dhuaan chale

Prachi (amused):

"Mall? Ranbir Kohli ko mall jaane ka mann hai? Yeh toh surprise hai(Mall? Does Ranbir Kohli feel like going to the mall? This is such a surprise!)"

Punchiri thanu konchiko

Munthiri mutham chinthiko

Ranbir (teasing):

"Kya karein, mere liye toh tumhari khushi hi sab kuch hai. Plus, honeymoon par romantic jagah ke saath shopping bhi toh zaroori hai(What to do, your happiness is everything for me. Plus, shopping along with a romantic destination is also a must on your honeymoon.)"

Manchani varna chundari vave

Thankinaka

Prachi laughed and agreed, grateful for Ranbir's thoughtful gesture. But behind her smile, there was a quiet longing she hadn't voiced yet—a yearning for something she hadn't shared even with Ranbir.

Thakadhimi aadum thankanilave hoye

As they strolled through the sprawling mall, Prachi watched young families pass by.

Punchiri thanu konchiko

Munthiri mutham chinthiko

Little children tugged at their parents' hands, excited about toys or ice creams. Some giggled as they played in the kids' area.

Manchani varna chundari vave

Thankinaka

Thakadhimi aadum thankanilave hoye

One toddler stumbled and fell.

But then she was lovingly scooped up by her mother.

Thanka kolusale

Koorkum kuyilalae

Marana mayilalae

Prachi's eyes softened as she watched the tender moment. Ranbir, noticing her distant expression, nudged her gently.

Thanka kolusale

Koorkum kuyilalae

Marana mayilalae

Ranbir (curious):

"Kya soch rahi ho? Woh ice cream pasand aayi kya(What are you thinking? Did you like that ice cream?)"

Jiya jale, jaan jale

Nainon tale dhuaan chale dhuaan chale

Prachi (smiling faintly):

"Nahi Ranbir, bas... bas yunhi(No Ranbir, just... just like that.)"

Raat bhar dhuaan chale

Jaanoon na jaanoon na jaanoon na sakhi ri

Ranbir's eyes narrowed slightly. He knew his Prachi well enough to sense when something was on her mind. But he chose not to push her yet. Instead, he distracted her by pulling her toward a store filled with vibrant dresses.

Dekhte hai tan mera mann mein chubhti hai nazar

Hont sil jaate unke narm honton se magar

Ranbir (grinning):

"Chalo madam, tumhare liye kuch select karte hain. Maine suna hai Kerala ke handloom dresses famous hote hain(Come on madam, let's select something for you. I have heard that handloom dresses of Kerala are famous.)"

Ginti rehti hoon main apni karvaton ke silsile

Kya karoon, kaise kahoon raat kab kaise dhale

Prachi (laughing):

"Handloom pe Ranbir Kohli ka gyaan? Impressive(Ranbir Kohli's knowledge on handloom? Impressive!)"

Despite the light-hearted banter, Prachi's thoughts kept drifting back to the children she had seen. She loved Kairav, Kartik and Naira's son, like her own. But deep down, she longed for the experience of raising a child from the baby stage—watching their first steps, hearing their first words, and being there for every little milestone.

Hey, kuruvanikiliye

Kuruvanikiliye

She wanted that joy for herself and Ranbir. And for Kairav, too, who would be a loving older brother.

Later, as they sat in the food court sharing a bowl of fresh fruit salad, Ranbir noticed that Prachi had grown quieter.

Kukuru kurukuru kooki kuruki, kunnimarathil uyal adi

Ranbir (gently):

"Prachi, kuch toh hai jo tumhare mann mein hai. Baat karogi(Prachi, there is something which is in your mind. Will you talk?)"

Prachi hesitated, but Ranbir's warmth made it impossible to hide. She took a deep breath.

Prachi (softly):

"Ranbir, main Kairav ko bohot pyaar karti hoon. Woh mere apne bete jaisa hai. Lekin... kabhi kabhi lagta hai ki main ek bachpan se apna bachcha nahi dekha. Uske first steps, first words... sab miss kiya(Ranbir, I love Kairav very much. He is like my own son. But...sometimes I feel that I have not seen a child since childhood. I missed his first steps, first words... everything.)"

Kodum orike kootu vilikunne

Maran nine kooki kuruki kotu vilikunne

Ranbir listened intently, his heart clenching at her honesty.

Prachi (teary-eyed):

"Mujhe lagta hai ki Kairav ko ek sibling ki zaroorat hai. Aur hum dono... kya hum dono ke paas bhi woh chance nahi hona chahiye(I think Kairav needs a sibling. And both of us... shouldn't we both have that chance?)"

Thanka kolusale

Koorkum kuyilalae

Ranbir placed his hand over hers, squeezing it gently.

Ranbir (softly):

"Prachi, tumhare sapne mere sapne hain. Agar tumhe lagta hai ki humari zindagi mein ek naya member aana chahiye, toh main bilkul ready hoon. Par ek baat yaad rakhna—tum meri life ki poori duniya ho. Tumhare scars ho ya nahi, tum perfect ho mere liye(Prachi, your dreams are my dreams. If you feel that a new member should come into our life, then I am absolutely ready. But remember one thing – you are the whole world of my life. Whether you have scars or not, you are perfect for me.)"

Marana mayilalae

Prachi smiled through her tears, touched by Ranbir's unwavering love.

Prachi (whispering):

"Tum na, bilkul perfect ho, Ranbir(You are absolutely perfect, Ranbir.)"

Ang ang mein jalti hai dard ki chingaariyaan

Ranbir (teasing):

"Bas itna hi? Maine socha tha thoda zyada tareef milegi(That is all? I thought I would get a little more praise.)"

They both laughed, the heaviness lifting from the moment.

As they walked out of the mall hand-in-hand, Prachi felt lighter. They had shared their hopes and dreams, and Ranbir's support had given her a new sense of strength.

Masle phoolon ki mahek mein titliyon ki kyaariyaan

Later that afternoon, Ranbir and Prachi made their way to St. Francis Church, one of Kerala's most serene and historic places. The church's ancient architecture, bathed in warm sunlight, stood as a symbol of peace and hope.

Inside, the air was filled with the soft scent of candles and fresh flowers. The stained-glass windows reflected hues of red, blue, and gold across the pews.

Raat bhar bechaari mehndi pisti hai pairon tale

Prachi (whispering):

"Ranbir, yeh jagah kitni sukoon wali hai na(Ranbir, this place is so relaxing isn't it?)"

Ranbir (playfully):

"Haan, lekin mujhe lagta hai ki tum yahan bhi apne 'sochne wali mode' pe ho(Yes, but I think you are in your 'thinking mode' here too.)"

Prachi smiled shyly but didn't respond. They knelt down in front of the altar, folding their hands in prayer. The gentle hum of the choir in the background made the moment even more sacred.

Kya karoon, kaise kahoon raat kab kaise dhale

Prachi closed her eyes, her heart whispering a wish she hadn't fully voiced until now.

"Dear Jesus, mujhe bas ek chhota sa baccha chahiye. Woh meri baahon mein ho, uski muskaan dekhoon, uske pehle kadam ka witness banu. Please bless Ranbir aur mujhe ek aisi khushi se jo zindagi bhar chale(Dear Jesus, I just want a little baby. He or she should be in my arms, I should see his or her smile, I should witness his or her first steps. Please bless Ranbir and me with a happiness that lasts a lifetime.)"

Jiya jale, jaan jale

Ranbir, curious about what she was praying for, leaned closer after their prayers ended.

Ranbir (teasing):

"Kya maanga? Mujhe toh lagta hai tumhe chocolates aur pastries ke alawa kuch maangne ka idea nahi hota(What did you ask for? I guess you have no idea of asking for anything other than chocolates and pastries.)"

Prachi rolled her eyes but then softened.

Nainon tale dhuaan chale dhuaan chale

Prachi (blushing):

"Maine ek baccha maanga(I asked for a baby.)"

Ranbir's eyes widened in surprise, followed by a mischievous smile.

Ranbir (grinning):

"Wow, Mrs. Kohli! Tum toh meri soch se aage nikal gayi. Par ek second—kya tumhe pata hai ki hum bacche ka gender decide nahi kar sakte(Wow, Mrs. Kohli! You have gone beyond my imagination. But one second—did you know that we can't determine the gender of a baby?)"

Raat bhar dhuaan chale

Prachi (giggling):

"Haan Ranbir, lekin phir bhi... main chhota sa ladka chahungi(Yes Ranbir, but still... I would like a little boy.)"

Ranbir (mock shock):

"Wait, what?! Tum ladka chahogi(Wait, what?! You want a boy?)"

Prachi:

"Haan... woh tumhari tarah ziddi aur mischievous ho, par dil ka acha ho(Yes... he should be stubborn and mischievous like you, but he should be good at heart.)"

Jaanoon na jaanoon na jaanoon na sakhi ri

Ranbir shook his head dramatically.

Ranbir (firmly):

"Nope. Main ek princess chahunga jo tumhari tarah pyaari, sharif, aur sorted ho(Nope. I would like a princess who is sweet, noble, and sorted like you.)"

Jiya jale, jaan jale

Prachi's cheeks flushed.

Prachi:

"Princess nahi chahiye mujhe, mujhe mera prince chahiye(I don't want a princess, I want my prince.)"

Ranbir (teasing):

"Toh maine socha tha honeymoon ke baad beach par sunset dekhenge, par tum toh family planning pe focus kar rahi ho(So I had thought that after the honeymoon we would watch the sunset on the beach, but you are focusing on family planning.)"

They both burst into laughter, their voices echoing softly through the peaceful church.

Jiya jale

Ranbir and Prachi stood before the altar, holding thin white candles in their hands. The flickering flames danced gently as they bowed their heads in silent prayers. The warm light cast a golden glow on their faces, symbolizing hope and dreams for what lay ahead.

Prachi spoke softly, breaking the silence.

Prachi (dreamily):

"Agar boy hua toh kya naam rakhenge, Ranbir(If it's a boy, what name will you keep, Ranbir?)"

Ranbir grinned mischievously.

Ranbir (teasing):

"Ladka? Hmm... Kohli dynasty ka shahi naam hona chahiye. Kaisa laga 'Aarav'(Boy? Hmm... Kohli Dynasty should have a royal name. How did you like 'Aarav'?)"

Prachi (thinking):

"Aarav? Achha hai... peaceful and sweet(Aarav? It's good...peaceful and sweet.)"

Ranbir (smirking):

"Vaise mera toh dream hai ek princess ka(Well, my dream is that of a princess.)"

Prachi laughed lightly.

Prachi (mock teasing):

"Kyun? Princess ke saath tea party karne ka plan hai kya(Why? Are you planning to have a tea party with the princess?)"

Ranbir gave her a playful nudge.

Ranbir (with a sparkle in his eye):

"Princess ka naam already decide hai — 'Rachi.' Tumhara aur mera ship name hai na(The princess's name is already decided - 'Rachi.' Yours and mine ship name, right?)"

Prachi's eyes softened as she smiled warmly.

Prachi:

"Rachi... bilkul perfect lagega. Tum aur main milke apne baby ko pyaar se bulayenge(Rachi...it will look absolutely perfect. You and I together will lovingly call our baby.)"

The thought of their future filled both their hearts with excitement and tenderness.

They leaned forward, lighting the candles together as a symbol of their shared dream. The flames merged and flickered brighter, much like their love — pure, vibrant, and full of possibilities.

Holding hands, they knew that whether it was Aarav or Rachi, their child would be raised in a home filled with laughter, warmth, and endless love.

Later that night:

The soft sway of the houseboat was a lullaby in itself, gently rocking under the serene Kerala sky. The air was filled with the smell of fresh jasmine and the distant hum of water lapping against the boat's edges. The night was calm, perfect for romance.

Ranbir and Prachi sat on the deck, surrounded by lanterns and the soft glow of candles. The stars above reflected in the water, as if nature itself was in tune with the magic of the moment.

Ranbir (smiling softly): "Can you believe this is real? I can't think of a better way to end our honeymoon."

Prachi (eyes sparkling): "Yeh...sapne isi se banate hain Ranbir. Main vishwaas nahi kar sakta ki sab kuch kitna sahi raha hai(This... this is what dreams are made of, Ranbir. I can't believe how perfect everything has been.)"

Ranbir (teasing): "Toh, kya ab aap fairy tales par vishwas karate hain(So, you do believe in fairy tales now?)"

Prachi (laughing): "Main hamesha ki hai... lekin ab mujhe pata hai ki fairy tales bahut saare pyaar aur yahan tak ki is tarah ke aur bhi kshanon ke sath aati hain(I always did... but now I know fairy tales come with a lot of love, and even more moments like this.)"

The boat drifted silently through the backwaters, with lush greenery on either side and the soft flicker of fireflies around them.

The water shimmered under the moonlight, creating a peaceful, almost magical atmosphere. The candlelight dinner was laid out, with traditional Kerala cuisine—fresh raita, delicate biryanis, and sweet payasam.

Ranbir took a bite of the fish curry, then turned to Prachi, who was gently sipping her coconut water. He leaned in, his voice soft but intense.

Ranbir: "Yahaan keval ek cheez ki kami hai(There's only one thing missing here.)"

Prachi (raising an eyebrow): "Kya(What?)"

Ranbir (with a playful smile): "Hamari choti rajakumari(Our little princess.)"

Prachi (eyes widening): "Tum sach mein ek ladki chahti ho, hai na(You really do want a girl, don't you?)"

Ranbir (grinning): "Haan. lekin, jo bhi ho, mujhe pata hai ki hamara ek chota sa sundar parivaar hoga(Yes. But, whichever it is, I know we're going to have a beautiful little family.)"

Prachi: "Mujhe pata hai. Aur main usake adbhut bade bhai Kairav se milne ka intezaar nahi kar sakata(I know. And I can't wait for her or him to meet their amazing big brother, Kairav.)"

Ranbir (holding her hand): "Aur tumse milne ke liye, mere dil. Aapne pehle hi mujhe sabse bada uphaar de diya hai - apna pyaar(And to meet you, my heart. You've already given me the greatest gift—your love.)"

Prachi (smiling shyly): "Aur maine bahut samay pehle tumhe apna dil de diya tha, Ranbir. Aap tab se ise apane haathon mein pakde hue hain(And I gave you my heart a long time ago, Ranbir. You've been holding it in your hands ever since.)"

They both sit there in the quiet of the night, looking out at the calm waters, imagining a future filled with love, family, and dreams coming true.
