Godh Bharai-Baby Shower
It was a crisp afternoon when Ranbir decided to leave his office early. The weight of deadlines and business meetings had paled in comparison to his desire to be by Prachi's side. The last month of her pregnancy was here, and despite her reassurances that she was fine, Ranbir's heart tugged at him constantly to be there more often.
He entered the Kohli mansion, setting his laptop bag on the couch and loosening his tie. The house was unusually calm, with just the faint sound of birds chirping outside. Ranbir's eyes scanned the living room, but Prachi was nowhere in sight.
"Kahan gayi madam(Where did madam go?)" he muttered to himself with a smile, heading toward their bedroom.
Esha: Aapaka intezaar(Waiting for you!)🤭
Pushing the door open softly, Ranbir paused. There she was — standing by the window, bathed in the soft golden afternoon light. Her saree draped elegantly over her growing belly, the silk fabric gently moving with the breeze. She had one hand resting protectively on her bump while the other caressed the baby as if already communicating with their child.
Ranbir's breath caught in his throat. The sight was surreal. She looked ethereal, like a goddess nurturing life itself.
He walked toward her quietly but purposefully. When he was just behind her, he wrapped his arms gently around her waist, careful not to press too hard. Prachi smiled, leaning back into his embrace, recognizing his presence without even turning.
"Kaam khatam ho gaya(Is the work finished?)" she asked teasingly.
"Kaam toh kab ka chhoda jab tumse milne ka mann kiya(I left my work long ago when I thought of meeting you)," Ranbir whispered near her ear.
Esha: Hayeee!😍
He placed his hands over hers on her bump, feeling the subtle movements beneath her skin.
"Dekho, yeh Kohli junior toh already super active hai(Look, this Kohli Junior is already super active)," Ranbir chuckled softly, "Mujhe lagta hai football team ready ho rahi hai andar(I think the football team is getting ready inside.)"
Prachi laughed lightly. "Tumhe toh bas team banani hai Ranbir Kohli ki, haan(You just have to make Ranbir Kohli's team, right?)"
He knelt down slowly, his head level with her bump. Placing a soft kiss on her belly, he spoke gently:
"Sun rahe ho na? Bas thoda aur wait kar lo princess... hum dono tumhara intezaar kar rahe hain (Are you listening? Just wait a little more princess... we both are waiting for you.)"
Esha: Woh is baat par ada hua hai ki yah usaki rajakumari ho(He is adamant for it be his princess!)😜
Prachi ran her fingers lovingly through Ranbir's hair, her heart swelling with emotions.
"Tumhe pata hai(Do you know?)" she said softly, "Main kabhi kabhi sochti thi ki shayad main itni strong nahi ban paungi, lekin tumhare saath hone se sab kuch asaan lagta hai(Sometimes I used to think that maybe I won't be able to be that strong, but being with you makes everything seem easier.)"
Ranbir stood up, cupping her face gently. "Tumhare andar duniya ki sabse khoobsurat strength hai, Prachi. Tum meri sherni ho(You have the most beautiful strength in the world, Prachi. You are my lioness.)"
"Aur tum mere pagal ho(And you are my crazy guy)," Prachi quipped with a grin, wiping a stray tear from her cheek.
Esha: Awww! 😘
They stood there in serene silence, wrapped in each other's arms, basking in the quiet yet powerful joy of anticipation and love.

Marigold garlands hung elegantly from every corner, and the sweet aroma of sandalwood incense filled the air.

(Indian music beats)
Women dressed in bright sarees and lehengas chattered happily as traditional folk songs echoed through the grand hall.
Aaj padega sabko gaana
Dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
(Today everyone will have to sing)
(Indian music beats)
Ranbir, wearing a regal sherwani with gold embroidery, was by Prachi's side the entire time. Prachi, dressed in a stunning red and gold saree, radiated beauty despite her nerves.
Dhik dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
Dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana

Her hands adorned with intricate henna designs, and her radiant smile masked any discomfort from her heavily pregnant state. Her baby bump was proudly celebrated, not hidden.
Dhik dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
(Indian music beats)
As the ceremony began, Babita Chachi, glowing with pride, led the family rituals. "Aaj hamari Prachi ki godh bhari hai — duaon se bhar denge uski godh(Today our Prachi's baby shower- we will fill her baby with prayers.)," she announced joyfully.
Bhabhi meri tumhe thank you
Milkar sabhi kahe thank you
(Thank you sister-in-law
Everyone is saying thank you)
Namrata and Naira brought beautifully decorated trays of sweets, bangles, and flowers. Dhruv, ever mischievous, whispered to Ranbir, "Bhai, abhi bhi waqt hai bhaag le... varna Papa ban ke roz night shifts lagengi(Brother, there is still time to run away... otherwise you will become a Papa and have night shifts every day.)"
Taras gaye the jisko naina
Aaj hua sach woh sapna
(What our eyes were yearning for
Today that dream has come true)
Ranbir grinned. "Aur main khushi khushi lagungaa(And I will feel happy)," he shot back proudly, making everyone laugh.
Allah kare tu bhi mizaaj
Paaye shayarana
(I pray to God that may you also have
A temperament of poets)
Babita guided Prachi to sit on a cushioned throne-like seat decorated with flowers.
Dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
Dhik dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
(Indian music beats)
(Indian music beats)
She whispered affectionately, "Meri Guddan ab maa banne wali hai... lagta hai kal hi toh yeh meri godh mein baithi thi(My sweetheart is about to become a mother... It seems like just yesterday she was sitting in my lap.)" Tears welled up in her eyes as she placed a protective hand on Prachi's head.
Dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
Dhik dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
(Indian music beats)
(Indian music beats)
Raj joined her, saying with a teasing tone, "Ranbir ko bhi thoda credit de do... kaafi mehnat ki hogi na(Give some credit to Ranbir too...he must have worked hard, right?)"
Lauta phir bachpan ka zamana
Dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
(The days of childhood are back again)
(Indian music beats)
Everyone burst into laughter while Prachi blushed furiously, smacking Ranbir lightly as he looked smug.
The women encircled Prachi, singing the song filled with blessings:
Dhik dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
Dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
(Indian music beats)
(Indian music beats)
One by one, the elder women placed bangles on Prachi's wrists, whispered blessings, and offered sweets. Namrata, with a naughty smile, slipped extra bangles on Prachi's hand. "Yeh bonus hai meri taraf se, jiji(This is a bonus from me, sister)," she winked.
Dhik dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
(Indian music beats)
Kartik and Naitik stood with pride as Kairav carefully handed over a tray of sweets, looking like he was on an important mission.
Yeh bezubaan, yeh janwar
Khush hai bada yeh jaan kar
(This speechless animal
Is very happy to know that)
"Yeh kha lena, aapko energy milegi(Eat this, you will get energy)," Kairav said earnestly, earning kisses from Prachi.
Goonjengi ab ek kilkari
Aangan mein pyari pyari
(Now a squeal will keep echoing
In the courtyard cutely)
Ranbir was asked to feed Prachi sweets as a tradition. He knelt beside her and held out a piece of laddu.
"Yeh tumhare liye aur baby Kohli ke liye(This is for you and baby Kohli)," he said softly, his eyes brimming with love.
Kehta Tuffy barson baras
Munne raja muskana
(Tuffy says that
Little one, keep smiling for years)
Prachi smiled shyly and opened her mouth, but before she could take a bite, Ranbir mischievously pulled it back. "Ek shart hai... I love you bolo pehle(There is one condition...say I love you first!)"
Hey dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
Dhik dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
(Indian music beats)
(Indian music beats)
"Ranbir!" Prachi exclaimed, laughing.
"Okay okay," he relented, finally feeding her the sweet, making everyone cheer.
Dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
Dhik dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
(Indian music beats)
(Indian music beats)
The music turned lively as Babita pulled Prachi and Ranbir to the dance floor. The entire family joined, clapping and twirling to folk beats.
Dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
Dhik dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
(Indian music beats)
(Indian music beats)
Raj and Babita led a beautiful couple dance with Naira and Kartik, and soon even Namrata and Dhruv were spinning on the floor despite Namrata's protests.
Naache nani, naache nana
Dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
(The grandparents will dance as well)
(Indian music beats)
Prachi laughed wholeheartedly, leaning on Ranbir for support as they swayed gently to the music.
Dhik dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
Dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
(Indian music beats)
(Indian music beats)
"Ab toh officially tumhara mazaak banega Ranbir Kohli(Now people will officially make fun of you Ranbir Kohli)," Prachi teased.
Dhik dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
Dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
(Indian music beats)
(Indian music beats)
"Banane do... tumhaari smile ke liye main hero se joker banne ko tayar hoon(Let it happen... I am ready to change from hero to joker for your smile)," Ranbir grinned.
Dhik dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
(Indian music beats)
The soft patter of rain echoed through the Kohli mansion's terrace as droplets danced on the tiled floor, creating tiny puddles. The sky was a moody shade of grey, and the earthy scent of rain filled the air. Namrata stood near the edge of the railing, stretching out her palm to feel the cool drops, her laughter mingling with the sound of the rain.
Dressed in a simple pastel kurta with her damp hair clinging to her face, Namrata looked effortlessly beautiful — not that she cared much for appearances. She was simply enjoying the monsoon magic.
Dhruv leaned casually against a pillar, his hands in his pockets, watching her with a mischievous smirk.
"Tum toh lagta hai filmon ki heroine banne wali ho... bas slow motion wali entry reh gayi(You seem like you are going to become a heroine in films... only the slow motion entry is left)," he teased.
Namrata rolled her eyes. "Aur tumhare paas na filmy lines ke alawa koi kaam nahi hai Dhruv(And you don't have any work other than film lines, Dhruv?)"
"Arey main toh yeh soch raha tha ki Kohli parivaar mein mausi wali post se zyada achi ek aur post khali hai(Hey, I was thinking that there is another better post in the Kohli family which is better than the post of aunty)," he quipped, stepping closer, his voice low and teasing.
Kehta hai kya munna suno
Mausi nahi chachi bano
(The little one is saying that
Be my paternal aunt, not maternal)
Namrata frowned, puzzled. "Post? Ab yeh kaunsa job interview shuru kiya tumne(Post? Now what is this job interview you started?)"
Dhruv chuckled, leaning in conspiratorially. "Woh post jo tumhare future niece ya nephew ko chahiye... uske dil se awaaz aa rahi hai—'Mausi mat bano, chachi ban jao.' Samjhi(The post that your future niece or nephew needs... A voice is coming from his or her heart - 'Don't become an aunty(mom's sister), become an aunty(dad's sister.)' Got it?)"
Namrata's eyes widened, her cheeks flushing crimson. "Tum... tum pagal ho(You...you're crazy!)" she stammered, stepping back but unable to hide her smile.
Munne yeh tere chacha ji
Banna chahe mausa ji
(Little one, your paternal uncle
Wants to become your maternal uncle)
Dhruv grinned triumphantly. "Haan, tumhare liye thoda toh pagal banna padega na... warna yeh baarish ka maza kaise aayega(Yes, you will have to become a little crazy for this, otherwise how will you enjoy this rain?)"
Tum na mili toh nischit hai
Mera jogi ban jaana
(If I don't attain you then for sure
I'll become an ascetic)
Namrata shook her head, trying to maintain her composure. "Mujhe nahi ban-na kisi ki chachi vachchi... main perfectly khush hoon apni zindagi mein(I don't want to be anyone's aunty... I am perfectly happy in my life!)"
Dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
Alakh dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
(Indian music beats)
(Indian music beats)
Dhruv took another step closer, now inches away from her. His playful expression softened, and his voice dropped to a tender tone. "Jhooth bolne ki koshish mat karo, Namrata. Jab main paas aata hoon na, tumhare expressions sab bata dete hain(Don't try to lie, Namrata. When I come near, your expressions tell it all.)"
Ghar aakar bhiksha le jaana
Dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
(Come home and take the alms)
(Indian music beats)
Namrata looked away, trying to distract herself by watching the rain. But Dhruv wasn't done. He reached out, gently tucking a wet strand of hair behind her ear.
Dhik dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
Dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
(Indian music beats)
(Indian music beats)
"Waise baarish mein ek baat toh confirm hoti hai—jo dil ki baat hoti hai, woh zyada chupti nahi(Well, one thing is confirmed in the rain - what is in the heart, it cannot be hidden much)," he whispered.
Dhik dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
(Indian music beats)
Her heart raced as their gazes locked. The sound of rain faded into the background as Dhruv's words lingered in the air. For a moment, Namrata forgot the world, caught between nervous excitement and undeniable attraction.
Aatish baazi ... haan ji
Yeh roshni ... haan ji
(Fireworks all around ... yes
This brightness ... yes)
She laughed nervously, breaking the intensity. "Tum sach mein Kohli khandan ka sabse bada nautanki ho(You are really the biggest gimmick of Kohli denial.)"
Zahir kare ... kya ji
Mann ki khushi ... wah ji
(Is expressing ... what
The joy of the heart ... oh great)
"Aur tum future Kohli parivaar ki sabse pyaari chachi banogi(And you will become the dearest aunty of the future Kohli family)," Dhruv winked confidently.
Zameen se lekar aasman tak
Munne ke dum se raunak
(From the earth to the sky
There is brightness due to the little one)
Namrata's laughter echoed through the terrace as she pushed him lightly. "Sapne dekhte rehna (Keep dreaming!)"
Kya khoob hai aaise mein
Munne ke papa ka aana
(In such a great moment it's so good
For the little one's dad to come)
But as she walked away, Dhruv couldn't help but grin to himself. "Sapne sach karne mein main expert hoon, Namrata Kohli... bas wait karna(I am an expert in making dreams come true, Namrata Kohli... just wait!)"
Hey dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
Dhik dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
(Indian music beats)
(Indian music beats)
The rain continued pouring, but something deeper had already begun to bloom between them—unspoken yet undeniable.
Dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
Dhik dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
Dhiktana, tiktana, dhiktana
(Indian music beats)
(Indian music beats)
(Indian music beats)
