Escaping the cavern, Coronamon rushed straight back to the cave where Sunny was hidden. His flames were burning with determination.

Little did he realize, that this made him easy to follow.

Coronamon: Guys! We have a problem.

He shouted as he entered the cave.

Coronamon: Lunamon and Ageiomon are here with their partners.

Coronamon: Is Sunny any better?

Agumon: Gya! Barely!

Coronamon: Hmph. Then I'll drive them off.

Agumon: Don't be foolish. Lunamon has access to Crescemon, an ultimate with speed and power you cannot yet match.

Agumon: And Ageiomon is quite powerful in his own right, but if he too can go ultimate.

Coronamon: Sunny can't be moved... So I'll move them!

Ageiomon: Don't get ahead of yourself now.

The trio turns towards Luna and Dario who are beside their partners.

Ageiomon: You don't have access to even your champion level without your partner.

Luna: Just stop Coronamon. Look at Sunny.

Luna: He has a fever and I don't think any of you know how to take care of that.

Coronamon: Sunny... Is my friend! I will not give him to you.

Luna: Stop being so stubborn!

They all turn to Sunny who begins coughing harshly, before slowly sitting up.

Sunny:(coughs)... Or can't you understand...? He doesn't want to go... And neither do I...

Dario: You're in no condition to decide what you want.

Agumon: GYA!? Lay down! My boy, you need your rest!

He spins around to face the four trying to bring them in.

Luna: You'd let hundreds get deleted because you wanted to be "free"?!

The Digicore on Sunny's neck glows brightly as Coronamon digivolves into Firamon.

Firamon: We'll fight to protect!

Charging forward, Ageiomon pushed the others aside as he tried to stop Firamon. But the leader of the Olympos XII was pushed out of the cave before he managed to dig his heels into the dirt and throw Firamon into the air.

Luna: Lunamon!

Lunamon: That's me!

She leaps out of the cave then hops into the air and kicks Firamon away from Ageiomon before he can dive-bomb him.

Leomon was close behind to aid Firamon, but that left Dario alone with Sunny and Agumon.

Dario:....(sigh)...

Dario: Why are you fighting so hard against us? This war could- no... It WILL destroy our world.

He approaches Sunny, the professor trying to get in between the two, but Dario quickly shoves him aside and picks up Sunny by the collar of his jacket.

Dario: Is that not enough to fight!?

Sunny:(coughs)... I can't tell... Am I not understanding you correctly... Or are you not understanding me?

He grabs Dario's wrist.

Sunny: Why are you not trying to stop this war? Why are you trying to win it?!

Dario: There is no stopping it...

Sunny: I refuse to believe that.

Sunny: And I refuse to associate myself with people who think it's okay to "reset" someone because they aren't what you want them to be

Sunny:(coughing)

Dario: You don't have a choice. Sorry.

Outside the cave, Leomon took on Ageiomon as Firamon fought with all his might against Crescemon.

Crescemon: Give it up, kitty. Before I reset you. Don't know if it'll be accidental yet.

Firamon: You might be a level higher, but don't get cocky!

Leomon: I've seen the sparks of a true lion within them. Someone must fan the flames to grow them into true warriors.

Getting grounded by Crescemon, Firamon gets up ready to charge her again, but then notices Dario drag Sunny out of the cave.

Kicked by Crescemon the unfocus lord of the sun is sent sliding down the cliff. Pushing off of it, he takes flight and rises to the cave entrance level.

Firamon: Give Sunny back!

Dario:(mumble) Why are you acting like he's a hostage or something...?

Firamon: I said, give him back!

Dario: Enough is enough. You two are coming back with-

Sunny: HUGH!

Dario: Oof!

Elbowing Dario, Sunny stumbles towards Firamon.

Luna: Tch, are you serious!?

Sunny: We're not going to listen to each other... It's clear as day, neither side cares to understand.

Sunny: That's why we're fighting...

He turns to face the others.

Sunny: I've chosen to partner up with Firamon... So that means, I'll fight to protect him-

Dario knocks Sunny to his knees with a punch, pushing him into a fit of coughing.

Firamon: Sunny!!

Dario: You wanna hit? Prepare to get hit back.

Firamon: Grrrrr!

Sunny: I-I'm (coughs)... Fine...

He lands. Crescemon is ready to strike.

Firamon: Sunny... I'm sorry.

Sunny: Huh...?

Firamon: I've been slacking... Letting you alone fuel my evolution.

Leomon:?

Firamon: But don't worry... I'm now roaring to pay you back! To protect you and our beliefs!!

The Digicore on Sunny's necklace snaps off, flying onto the D-Modder as it glows brightly. Dario grabs and lifts Sunny by the arm as he tries to pull off the core.

Firamon: I'M READY TO TAKE THE HEAT TO THE NEXT DEGREE!! LET'S FIGHT WITH ALL MIGHT!!!

Sunny:!

Sunny: Hmph!

Punching Dario away, Sunny with a second wind, flicks the digicore forward.

"Evo.Exe Re-Loaded"

Sunny: I hear you loud and clear... And LEAVE IT TO YOU!!

Sunny: "PROGRAM LAUNCH"!!

He pulls the trigger and in nanoseconds, a circuit board pattern of energy crawls up Sunny's arm and down his body into the ground.

Wrestling, dancing, spirits, armor, mythical creatures. Data on these subjects were taken and brought into the blast fired from the D-Modder which shattered into many pieces that struck Firamon causing him to evolve.

The sun shines through the clouds across the domain as the volcano rumbles with heat in the distance. Flaremon is covered in a fire that spreads toward Sunny but does no harm to him.

Rushing from thr cave, Agumon witnesses the rise of Flaremon.

Agumon: Firamon evolved into Flaremon!?

Agumon: A Vaccine Beast man digimon... He might be able to defeat Crescemon now!

Crescemon: That's a silly theory.

Agumon: Gya?!

Crescemon: Only one way to disprove it I guess...

Flaremon: Come at, bun! It's about time I show you who the apex predator is!

The two ultimate digimon rush toward one another, she throws a kick as he swings his fist. The collision was enough to share the air, yet in the end, it was Flaremon who overpowered and knocked Crescemon back.

The Ultimate flipped and bounced right back to swing her weapon at Flaremon who dodged and threw a punch whilst engulfed in flames. Crescemon responded with her shield, yet something was wrong.

This attack should have been blocked.

Flaremon: Rrraaaaah!

Sunny: Go...! YOU CAN DO IT!!

Crescemon:!?!

Crescemon hopped away. Luna noticed her partner shaken up, and she believed she knew why once she saw that Crescemon's shield had a hole melted through it.

Luna: His flames are hot enough to melt your shield? Don't worry, you can out-speed him!

Crescemon: It's not that... I felt as if I saw a ghost.

Luna: What do you mean...?

Crescemon: For a moment... I could have sworn the flames surrounding him looked like another Digimon...

Luna: What Digimon?

Crescemon: I... I'm not sure, but it's familiar.

Dario: Hmph. Enough games. Ageiomon!

Ageiomon: Let's go!

The two ultimates approached Flaremon who unleashed a barrage of flaming kicks and punches.

To match him, Crescemon unleashed her own barrage.

Helping to turn the tides, Aegiochumon knocked Flaremon back. But thanks to Leomon, Flaremon stayed on his feet.

Leomon: I can still fight. Can you?

Flaremon: Tch! I'm just warming up!

Leomon: Then let me help you heat up. Together!

Leomon: "Fist Of The Beast King"!

Flaremon: "Crimson Beast King Wave"!!

The Lion duo threw a punch and launched a construct of a roaring lion head. The two lion heads crashed into their opponents, knocking them towards their partners.

Flaremon: Oh yeah! Take that!

Dario: Aegiochumon!

Ageiochumon: Hmph! Prepare to-

???: "Hellfire"!

A line of greenish flames was blasted into the ground, separating the two sides.

Everyone:?

(THUMP)

A third party then arrived. A tall humanoid digimon with two large hounds heads for hands.

Everyone:?!

Tension grew between these two Ultimates, but who knew if they understood why?

Misato was asked to leave the war room by her superior. She arrived at the office of her boss to find him standing in wait.

(High-Admiral; Haru Hideno)

Haru: Let's cut to the chase. I know about your son.

Haru: That makes you compromised... I'll be taking command from here on out.

Misato:(deep inhale)

Misato:(sigh)... I understand.

She turns to try and leave.

Haru: And before you go sneaking into the Digital world on your own...

Misato: Are you going to put me on the Data Squad?

Haru: No time for the paperwork. Let's just say "yes".

She pulls out a small trinket.
