The sounds of crickets could be heard in the night hair. Heading towards the playground was a young couple. The male is Matt Ishida, and the female Skylar Ruby. The two of them held hands.
"That was great, Matt. Thank you so much for dinner."
"It's my pleasure, Skylar." The blonde squuezed her hand softly. Matt led her to the swingset. Where their friends were waiting for them.
"Well, it looks like the lovebirds finally joined us." Sora teased. Which earned a chuckle from Skylar.
"Sorry, that was my bad. I was offered a desert from the waiter. And i just couldn't say no to ice cream."
Joe frowned softly as he crossed his arms softly. The blue haired boy leaned up against the pole of swingset. His eyes were focused on how happy Skylar was. A girl that he grew to have a crush on a few years ago. He felt so foolish that he thought she felt the same. It wasn't that long when they returned from the digital world. Matt and Skylar had started to date one another.
Skylar seem to noticed Joe's look. She gave him a small smile, and a gentle wave. Which caused his heart to flutter slightly. "It's great to see you dork. How is high school coming along?" She asked teasingly
"It's coming along nicely...Sky. I just finished an essay for history." Joe kicked himself for calling her by the nickname he had given her. A nickname that he came up with. Due to her always seeming to want to rise above anything that comes her way. And someone he himself even looked up to.
"I'm glad to hear that." She chirped. The red-haired girl balled her fists. "You and i should hang out again like old times. We haven't been to the ice cream palor with each other in ages."
"I'll try."
Tai crossed his arms over his chest. "So everyone is finally here. Kari was telling me all about what recently occurred to her and T.K. and i really think it was important to call everyone together."
Izzy was holding his laptop up. Showing it to everyone. To show Mimi. The hazel haired girl was smiling softly as she peered around at everyone. "What happened? Is this really urgent?" Izzy asked, puzzled. "Today was game night, and it was my turn to be Rover."
Kari took a breath. "Yesterday, T.K. and I experienced a form of paralysis when we came in contact with the digiegg of hope and light. During this moment. Digimon from the digital world contacted us."
T.K. nodded. "The digimon who contacted me was Hebemon. She was the creator of the Crest of Hope, and Kari was contacted by a digimon named Gnoweemon. These two digimon explained to both of us. That we were going to be put to the test. To determine if we are truly worthy of our crest."
"A test? I sure haven't studied for one." Mimi mummbled as she placed her chin in the palm of her hand.
Matt's eyes grew wide. "Wait, is that only for you two? Or are the other creators of the crest going to test as well?"
Kari shook her head. "We have no idea. I can only assume so. Gnoweemon said that our friends would be tested as well. And as far as we know. The nine of us are the only ones with the crest."
Izzy hummed. "However, their could be more digidestined out there with crest. You did say Simon found the digiegg of forgiveness. Which none of us have that Crest."
Sora tilted her head. "I'm sure that all of us would've proven ourselves worthy of our crest."
"You would think." Tai groaned, rubbing his forehead in obvious signs of annoyance.
"I wonder what these tests will be like. Will our digimon have to fight?" Skylar wondered aloud. "And how do these creators of these crests look like?"
T.K. sighed. "Well, i couldn't make Hebemon out that well. All i can say is that she told me she was a mega level digimon. And she radiated with power."
Mimi frowned. "I wonder when these tests will be. Will they give us any warning?"
"Who knows." Tai grumbled. "We all just have to be careful. And if any of us encounter these digimon. We need to inform the others quickly."
The others nodded to agree with him.
(The next day)
Jeremy Heinz was panting softly as he kept a short stride in his jog. The young boy was wearing a dark blue muscle shirt. Black gym shorts and blue nikes.
The boy was keeping steady breaths. His earbuds were placed in his ears. Pop music filled his ear drums. Pushing him forward as he ran.
The sun was high up into the air. The sun's rays beating down upon his back.
Jeremy crossed the sidewalk quickly. Seeing that some cars had stopped to let him pass. The brown haired boy knew he had already run for about four miles. And he had two miles to go.
"I'm nearly there." He told himself. Jeremy stopped running as he felt his phone buzz in his pocket. He stopped in his tracks and pulled his flip phone out.
Jeremy, it looks like their is trouble in the digital world. Please come quick. We are waiting for you in the computer lab.
-Yolei
Jeremy raised an eyebrow. "What trouble is the digimon emperor causing now..." he grumbled to himself. The boy shook his head as he wrote out his reply.
I'll be right there
Jeremy put his phone back into his pocket. Reaching into his other pocket to silence his music.
(School)
As Jeremy walked into the computer lab. His friends were already inside waiting for him.
"They're you are amigo. We have all been waiting here for you." Simon stood up from where he sat on the table. Chichhimon perched on his shoulder.
Yolei was typing quickly away on the computer. "I got a text from Tai not too long ago that he received an alert from his digivice. He thinks that Agumon may be in trouble."
Kari's eyes grew wide. "I received the same from Skylar. She said she was in the middle of her communications class. That her digivice started to go haywire."
"Their must be something wrong with Agumon and Labramon. We should head into the digital world to check on them." T.K. peered over Yolei's shoulder.
The lavander haired girl fixed her glasses as she looked for the closest digital gate to open. A smile formed on her lips. "Okay guys. Let's head off to the digital world to check it out."
Everyone pulled out their digivices and pointed them at the computer. "Digiport open!"
"Hold onto your tails, everyone." Gatomon called out as they were propelled forward through the computer.
(Digital world)
"Watch out!" Davis cried out as all of them landed in a heap in the sandy terrian they found themselves in.
"You know i think i vote that we all set up pillows for wherever we land through a digiport." Veemon cried as he lay underneath the group.
Hyokkomon tilted his head. "I never seem to have a problem when we go through the gate, young friend."
Simon grumbled from where he lay. "That's cause you always land perfectly on top of my head."
The chicken digimon chuckled softly. "I'm sorry, partner. I didn't realize it bothered you."
The kids slowly got up to their feet. Soon helping their partner digimon afterwords.
"Where are we?" Armidillamon finally asked as he peered around his surroundings.
They all soon followed his gaze to see large dunes of sand wherever they looked. A cactus about ten feet away from them standing proudly in front of them.
Yolei stared down at her red digivice. "I know from the map that i sent us somewhere on the continent of Server."
T.K. shivered. "Well, hopefully, we all don't run into Elvis." The blonde rolled his eyes.
Davis blinked as he scratched the back of his head.
"Are you talking about that old singer? I'm sorry, dude. But i don't think we would run into some old dead guy here in the digital world."
Patamon shook his head softly in T.K.'s arms. "No, silly. T.K. was just referring to a digimon named Etemon. He was an evil digimon T.K. and our friends encountered during their first time in the digital world. Skylar nicknamed Etemon, Elvis."
Jeremy held his hands over his eyes. Trying to peer around the desert. "Where should we head off first?" He asked hesitantly.
Cody hummed softly. "Did Tai and Skylar get any form of notication on their digivice that showed the last known location of Agumon and Labramon?"
Yolei held up the message she printed earlier. "Hmm, let me check-"
Kari suddenly screamed, causing everyone to turn in her direction. Simon eyes grew wide as he noticed her right leg slipping into the sand.
"T.K.!" She cried out.
The blonde quickly reached out to grab his friend's hand. Surprised to feel a force pulling her from the opposite side. "Guys, this is going to sound crazy. But i think their is something underneath us!"
"What?! How is that possible?" Jeremy asked in disbelief. Kari's legs slipped underneath the dune. Jeremy quickly grasped Kari's free hand. "Geez this thing doesn't want to let go."
"Guys, please help me." Kari cried as more of her body slipped through the sand.
Yolei rushed forward, along with Simon. The hispanic wrapped his arms around his friend Jeremy's waist. While Yolei placed her hands on T.k.'s shoulders. The both of them tried to help them pull Kari from the dunes.
"This is loco...what is trying to pull Kari?"
"Yeah, let Kari go! You creep!" Davis snapped angrily at whatever was trying to pull her under.
Jeremy and T.K. cried out as they both lost their grips. Allowing Kari to scream as she was pulled under the sand. Her cries are silenced instantly.
"Kari!" Gatomon cried. The feline digimon started to claw at the sand. Tears stinging the corner of her eyes.
"Guys. We have to get out of here. Whatever grabbed Kari might try to grab someone else." Simon pointed out worridly.
"I'm not leaving without Kari." Gatomon growled. Her eyes narrowed as she peered up at the boy.
"Gatomon. We can't just stand here to be pulled down one by one. We will get her back. Have faith."
The feline took a shaky breath as she nodded. The small group started to race away from the area.
"T-that was scary..." Yolei said towards Hawkmon. The bird digimon nodded to agree with her.
"There wasn't really anything we could do, unfortunately. Even if we armor digivovled. We can't really fight what we can't see."
Jeremy led the way. The older boy felt a tinge of pain in his gut. Why couldn't the four of them lift her out of the sand? Would Tai blame him for losing his sister... he was the oldest. He should be the one held accountable for all of them.
After what felt like mintues. The group started to trudge through the sandy dunes. The hot sun above them was causing them all to slow down.
"It's so hot..." Cody panted softly. Rubbing his sleeve across his forehead.
"Guys... if we need to. I could armor digivovle Hyokkomon. We could try to fly out of the desert if we need to." He suggested.
Davis shook his head. "We can't leave the desert without Kari. No digidestined left behind."
"Simon is kind of right. We all do need to get out of the heat. But we really should try to find Kari." Jeremy explained to the two.
As the three of them discussed. Armidillomon hummed. Turning around to see a dark mist approaching them all. "Yall. Don't want to interrupt. But i think you all would be interested in the horde of darkness bearing down on us.
Yolei turned around on her heels and gasped as she witnessed the darkness surrounding them all. "Freaky just turned to a nightmare." She cried.
Blackness surronded the small group. Covering the sand and the sky above them.
T.K. barred his teeth. "Everyone stay close."
Cody heart beat was increasing rapidly as he looked around the field of darkness. "Is this some type of spell caused by the digimon emperor?"
Out of his vision, the young boy noticed a flash of gray. "Wha-" before he could speak to the others. He cried out as he felt his legs get knocked out from under him.
"Cody!" Armidillomon cried out. The rookie digimon started to run over to him. But as pounced towards him, the young boy was dragged away screaming within the darkness.
The Armidillomon peered around widely as he was suddenly grasped from behind. Feeling something was pulling his tail.
"Something's got my tail."
Patamon gasped as he peered over and saw Gatomon clawing at the ground as she was being pulled by an unknown force.
As the darkness soon faded. Jeremy noticed that all that was left of him and his friends was him and Yolei.
The lanvander haired girl placed a fist over her heart. "H-Hawkmon?" She asked, puzzled. She looked around the desert clearing. "He... must have been captured with the others..."
Jeremy placed a hand on her shoulder and squuezed it softly. "Everything will be alright." He tried to reassure her. The lavender haired girl bit her lip as tears stung her eyes. "Jeremy, none of this is going the way I expected... we were just trying to go to the digital world to save Agumon and Labramon."
She shook her head softly. "What could have happened to everyone else... what if we won't see the others again. What if whatever took them...will come back and take us as well." She spoke so hurriedly. That Jeremy was having a hard time figuring out what she was saying.
"Yolei," He spoke loudly. Which caused her to snap out of her to snap out of her sadness. Her attention finally landed on him. "I won't let anything bad happen to you. I promise you. I am the oldest here. And as the oldest, it is my duty to protect you and the others. We will find them. We just need to find reinforcements. If anything, we could try to find Biyomon and the other digimon for help."
Yolei nodded softly and wiped her tears away with the back of her arm. Sniffling softly. "Jeremy, how can you do this without a digimon...for so long? We have gone to the digital world so many times. And we have yet to find your digimon partner."
Jeremy sighed softly. "Yeah, I know I usually face danger all the times I tag along with you and the others. But I was given this digivice." He reached inside of his pocket and pulled out his orange digivice. A soft frown etched his lips. "I may never truly become an official digidestined. But as long as I am here. I will look after you all."
A soft blush formed on Yolei's cheeks as she listened to what he said. She placed a fist over her heart and nodded. "You know Jeremy. If I think about it. It's almost like yours, the groups big brother. Always have your eyes out for everyone." She rubbed the back of her neck. "If anything, I see you more than a brother, than Mantarou."
Jeremy gestured for her to follow him. He had wanted them to get out of any danger. Plus, I finally get out of this hot desert. Seeing Yolei relax. He decided to try to ask her a question. "How many siblings do you have?" He asked with a curious look.
"Well, Mantarou is my eldest brother. But he is barely around. He is currently finishing his senior year of college. He wants to become a lawyer. Mother says he really doesn't have that many plans of coming home. He was always a jerk to the family if I say so myself. Then I have a sister named Momoe. She is in the eleventh grade. She loves to study history. She is a huge history buff. She always tries to take over family vacations to go to some historical landmark." She groaned.
"That sounds a little annoying." Jeremy chuckled, placing his digivice back into his pocket for safe keeping.
The lavender haired girl rolled her eyes. "Tell me about it. She always does it. Even though she promises me that she won't do it anymore." She sighed softly as if she was a balloon deflating with air. " Finally, I have another sister named Chizuru. She is in the eighth grade. She loves working away on her computer any chance she can get." Yolei frowned as she placed her arms over her chest.
"Sometimes I feel like I am competing between my older siblings. My parents are always telling their friends and coworkers about things that they have accomplished. I never hear them talking about me..." She trailed off.
Jeremy shook his head. "I know the feeling. I am the youngest in my family as well. However, my sister tells me I don't have to prove myself against her or my brother. I am my own person."
Yolei hummed softly to herself. "She makes a really good point. If i spend time worrying about them. I will never spend any time doing things I personally like doing."
"Is their anything that you are interested in?"
"Well, i guess i like to travel."
"How about you become a foreign exchange student?" Jeremy suggested with a warm smile. "That could possibly give you an idea of a possible career in the future."
"Sure, i will give it a shot."
The two of them grinned as they noticed the wilderness ahead of them. "We are finally out of these cursed desert." Yolei cheered.
(Unknown location)
Kari groaned softly as she slowly came to. She slowly opened her eyes to find herself chained to the wall.
"Huh?"
"Kari, you're awake." Gatomon said in relief. The girl peered around the dark cave she found herself in. On the wall before her. She could see Gatomon, Veemon, Hawkmon, Armadillomon, Patamon, and Hyokomon chained to the wall.
Accompaning her on her side. Was her human friend. Who all seemed to be waking up as well.
"Is everyone alright?" T.k. asked aloud. Trying to strain his head around to make sure everyone was truly fine.
"Yeah... I just feel like my head got hit by a baseball bat." Davis groaned.
Veemon whined softly as he opened his eyes. "Did anyone get the number for the truck that hit us?"
The group grew silent as they tried to recall what had happened. Cody, who was hanging next to Kari, peered up at her. "Did you see whatever got ahold of you?"
Kari hummed softly as she peered up at the ceiling above her. She shook her head sadly. "No...i passed out when my head slipped underneath the sand."
Hawkmon sighed softly. "I don't want to upset anyone by saying this. But I'm somewhat relieved that Jeremy and Yolei are safe."
Simon frowned slightly as he tried to shake his chains. "Yeah... their safe. But what about us."
Hyokkomon tilted his head. "Why i believe in our friends. They will come for us."
Simon shook his head. "I know that they will. But without Yolei having her digimon partner. And Jeremy currently not having a partner digimon at all. What are they going to do?"
"We can't lose hope, guys."
"Patamon is right. We all just have to remain calm. We may be stuck here for who knows how long. But we know that our friends will come for us. Even if that means they may have to ask from help from the older digidestined." T.K. explained.
"Well, isn't it all lovely that you guys can visit me on this short notice?" Lights lit up on the walls above the digidestined and digimon. Entering the room was none other than the digimon emperor.
The boy had a sneer across his lips. He gave off a dark feeling as he entered the room. Following after him was Wormon. The rookie digimon had a sorrowful look across his face.
"It's the digimon emperor." Armadillomon pointed out.
"That's my name. Don't wear it out."
"What do you want?" Simon growled. The boy shook in his chains angrily.
"Yeah, you should be grateful that i'm currently chained up right now." Gatomon hissed. "I would be giving you a makeover right now."
The digimon emperor rubbed his temples in slight signs of annyoance. "Well, you guys can relax. It's not you guys who I am after." He clapped his hands. As if on que. What appeared to be cave wall on their left started to open up like a door. Revealing a labatory. In the center of the room was a metallic egg. The egg was rather familiar to the digidestined. Claws were sticking up on top of the object.
"It's another digiegg!" T.K. pointed out in shock.
"What are you doing with it!?" Davis snapped.
"Funny, you should all ask. I so happened to find this beauty while searching these caves. I must say i couldn't even pick it up from the ground. But with some help from some strong digimon and some equipment i devloped. I was able to lift it from the ground."
Kari hummed softly as she peered closely. On the center of the digiegg, she could finally make out a symbol. Which she didn't recognize from any of her friends Crest.
"T.K. it's another digiegg that isn't made from one of the nine crests we know."
The digimon emperor chuckled. "Right, you are. This is the digiamour of protection. It has come quite handy to me, though. After analyzing this armor. I was actually able to harness its powers. I have been using it on the digimon i have put under my control."
"That's terrible!" T.K. shouted.
"You call it terrible. I just like to call it my little power up. I'm just evening the player score after all. You all think you guys can walk around my garden acting like you guys own the place." He growled. "I'm finally going to finally going to claim the digital world once and for all."
His eyes scanned the room, and he gasped softly. "Wormmon. Two of their members in their group are missing."
Wormmon whimpered softly. "I'm sorry master. The troops must've not have seen them in the commotion. Or they couldn't carry them all."
A loud lashing noise echoed through the cave. As the emperor brought the whip down on the bug digimon. Causing Wormmon to let out a sharp cry.
Cody winced slightly in pain. "How could you do that to your own partner digimon!?"
The emperor rolled his eyes. "This isn't my partner. After all, he is just a piece of data to me. A stand-in after all. I'm currently capturing as many digimon as i can find. So i can finally have my perfect partner."
He walked forward into the labatory and gestured to another table. On the high table. He showed off T.K.'s and the other's digivice. Each of them was plugged into the table.
"Soon i will try to harness the power of all the digiamour you all possess. So all my digimon slaves will be unstoppable."
"You won't get away with this!" Cody cried.
"Oh, but i already have. Your friends will do little against me. Without digimon on their side." He pointed out with a smirk.
(Wilderness)
Jeremy and Yolei were walking side by side. Underneath the shade underneath the trees. Yolei sighed softly as she peered above the leaves above them.
"I'm so glad we are finally out of the desert. I really hope we can find some help soon." She mummbled.
Jeremy frowned as he peered down at his orange digivice. "Hmm..."
Yolei placed her arms behind her back and tilted her head slightly. "Are you trying to find the others? I checked mine earlier and couldn't find a reading."
Jeremy shook his head slightly. "Nah... I knew it was a long shot. But i was hoping i could find a digi armor of my own. With my own partner digimon. Maybe we could be able to locate the others."
The lavander hair girl sighed sadly. Recalling the tragic events from earlier. She kicked a pebble forward with the tip of her boot and peered up into the sky.
Flying into the sky was an assortment of balloons. In the shape of bear heads.
"Wow... I wonder if that would be a good place to check out?" Yolei asked quietly. Rubbing her chin at the thought.
"Those balloons look familiar." Jeremy said aloud. Suddenly, a memory of watching the first season of digimon flashed in his head. Those balloons were from Toy Town. But that didn't make any sense. Toy town was on File Island.
"Should we check it out?"
"I think it may be the best option."
As the two of them approached the brightly colorful town. Jeremy half expected a giant teddy bear to come sprinting towards them. Wanting to enslave them to become toys for the lost toys he collected.
However, he was surprised to see someone else approaching them. It was an Orge. He held a clipboard in front of his face, and he seemed to be examining some information.
"Looks like we are currently running low on cotton candy. I better make sure I send Gazimon out to get some more."
"Um, excuse me?" Yolei called out.
The green digimon peered up from his clipboard. "What?" He groaned. "Don't you see i'm a very busy digimon?"
"Wait. Your Orgemon aren't you. Skylar told me all about you. What are you doing here."
The champion level digimon seemed surprised by being called out by him. "You know Skylar?" He hummed softly. "She did stand up for me from old lion breath. Although he is different now." He mummbled.
Orgemon seemed to be talking more to himself than towards Yolei and Jeremy.
"No way Leomon is here?" Yolei asked excitedly. "I heard some cool stories about him from T.K. Supposedly, he was a great warrior digimon who fought for honor.
Orgemon rolled his eyes. "You make him sound like some type of legend." He grumbled. "At least one of them recognized me..."
Jeremy pulled out his digivice. Which signaled Yolei to do the same. "Orgemon. We need your help and Leomon to rescue our friends. The two of us are part of a new group of digidestined."
The Orge digimon scratched his cheek softly. "What do you need my help for? Where is your partner digimon? Isn't that their job?" He asked, puzzled.
Yolei frowned and nodded. "Well, Hawkmon...and our friends were all captured. We don't even know who or what took them all."
"Plus, i currently don't have a digimon partner at the moment."
Orgemon raised his brow. "A digidestined without a digimon?" He paused for a moment.
"Well, i'm not really sure how much old lion breath and i would be."
"What makes you say that?" Yolei asked curiously.
"Well, let me show you." He gestured for the two of them to follow him. The two of them exchanged a short glance. Before they followed after the champion digimon.
Orgemon lead them to the center of the town. Where a rabit like digimon was busy hanging up posters. "Oh, Ogremon. I thought i heard you coming." The young digimon spoke without turning his head towards him. His left ear twitched slightly as if to confirm what he said.
"Um, Elecmon..."
"Have you ordered the equipment we need to finish the rollarcoaster? It should be the biggest attraction this year."
Orgemon coughed, trying to get his attention. But Elecmon didn't seem to notice. "I know what you are going to say. I understand the digimon emperor is becoming a huge problem. But we made a promise to Monzaemon. To spead his park into server continent. We really should live by it."
"Elecmon." Orgemon finally snapped.
The rookie digimon turned on his heels of his feet and peered between Jeremy and Yolei. "Huh, digidestined? You two must be new. Are you friends of Mimi and Skylar?"
Jeremy pointed a finger at the rabbit like digimon. "Wait...are you telling me that Elecmon here...is Leomon?"
Before the champion, digimon could answer. Elecmon nodded softly. "Why yes, i am."
Yolei blinked in surprise as well. "But you're so...cute. And supposedly, Leomon is strong and powerful."
Elecmon sighed. "Yes, i used to be a strong warrior. But appearances aren't everything you know. Looks don't make you a hero. I just haven't been able to digivovle back into my champion level form yet. These control spires might be the reason behind that."
Yolei looked away from the group. Her feeling of hope slowly started to disappear.
"You know. You two aren't the first humans i've seen here today."
Jeremy's eyes lit up at this news. "You've seen someone else? Was it someone you recognized?"
The rookie digimon shook his head. "No. I can tell she was a girl, though. She was really too far to make out. All i can say is that she had bright pink hair."
Yolei looked back towards the group. "I have heard that Mimi currently dyed her hair pink."
Jeremy hummed softly. "But wouldn't you think that she would inform the others that she would go to the digital world? She would also be defenseless without her digimon partner." He pointed out.
Elecmon snapped his claws together. Getting the two children's attention back on him. "I don't mean to be rude. But why exactly would you need Orgemon's and I's help?"
"Well, like i told Orgemon, our friends were captured. I'm sure it has something to deal with the digimon emperor." Yolei explained.
"Well, i'm not sure how much help the two of us would be. But the two of us would try our best. " Elecmon crossed his arms over his chest. Leaning his back against a wall. "Hmm...so please tell us everything that occurred while you were in the digital world."
Jeremy sighed softly and told Elecmon how Kari was pulled underneath the sand and how the others were pulled away when darkness surrounded them. Elecmon hummed softly as he seemed to think about what had occurred. "I never heard of anything like that occurring before. I would think that the digimon emperor was using some sort of digimon to capture them all."
"What should we do?" Yolei asked, finally breaking the tension between them.
"Well, I think Orgemon, Elecmon, and I should go back. While you should stay here."
Yolei's eyes grew wide. "Why would I have to stay behind?"
Jeremy placed his hand on her shoulder. "Look, i know you want to tag along and save everyone as well. But i wouldn't want you to get captured as well. If anything, maybe you could find a digigate and try to bring reinforcements."
The lavander haired girl shook her head. "Look, Jeremy. I appreciate that you are trying to look out for me. But i want to help you guys save our friends. We may not have our digimon. But i'm sure the two of us need to be together."
"Well, i can't stop you then."
As the group of four made their way back to the desert. Elecmon was walking close to Jeremy's side. "So kid, tell me. What do you think it means to be a digidestined?"
Jeremy blinked slightly as they walked through the sandy terrian. Once again, he did not love the unbearable heat that was coming down on them.
"To be quite honest with you. I'm not really sure. I feel like all i have been doing lately is playing chaperone for my younger friends."
Elecmon hummed softly. "I guess that makes you inadequate towards them?"
"I guess so. In a way, i feel like i do have my eyes out on them. I am making sure that they all don't get hurt."
Elecmon raised a brow. "By putting yourself in danger?" He shook his head softly. "I understand you want to help them. But if you want to be a good hero. A good friend. You need to understand your limits. Every hero has their weakness."
Jeremy frowned softly. "I mean, i am not reckless or anything. I stay away from all the fighting. I'm just here to make sure they don't get into trouble... man, i'm more like a babysitter than a digidestined."
"Well, that's only if you feel like one. A hero is only made by their own thoughts or actions. Your own limitations define who you are. Are you going to limit yourself with only being a babysitter?"
Jeremy peered back to stare at Yolei. The lavander haired girl was rubbing her arm sheepishly. As she walked beside Orgemon.
"Wonderful weather we are having."
"Yeah..." he mummbled softly. Yolei had to admit to herself. She wasn't all keen working alongside a digimon. That once sided with Devimon, who attacked the digidestined before her.
Jeremy shook his head. "No... I don't want to settle being a babysitter. I want to join in the fight. But without a partner digimon. Aren't i just a burden amongst my friends?"
Elecmon softly smiled and didn't answer him.
"Okay. Don't go all master Yoda on me and try to make me lecture myself. I know what you are trying to do. You are trying to make me feel better about myself."
Jeremy growled in frustration. "But i shouldn't feel good about myself, okay!?" He snapped angrily. Causing Yolei and Orgemon to stop in their tracks. "I'm the reason my friends got captured. I should've recommended to everyone that we should've gone back to the real world as soon as Kari was captured."
"Jeremy... this isn't your fault -"
"Yolei. Please don't try to defend me. If we went back. We could've contacted the others. And with them. We could've settled the matters."
Elecmon chuckled softly. "You can't go your whole life. Expecting someone else to hold your hand. We all do have to realize our shortcomings. Which i'm glad you realized yours. But you shouldn't count yourself short. I believe that the four of us. Can save your friends all on our own."
Jeremy huffed softly. "Sure."
He grew quiet after that.
Yolei stopped in her tracks and pointed at the ground. "It was right here. This is where the darkness surronded us."
Orgemon peered around the surrounding area. "Hmm... I sure don't see anything."
Elecmon sniffed the area. "Ew. Whatever was around here had some fowl oder. If i smell things correctly. There is more than one of them."
Yolei placed her hands behind her back. "More than one...it would make sense. But what type of digimon are they. Are they newly discovered by the digimon emperor."
A soft suffle could be heard to their left. Which caused the group to look over in the direction. What caught them all off guard was seeing a twelve year old girl staring at them all.
The girl had long, bright pink hair. Her eyes were a soft baby blue. And she had ebony skin. She wore a long sleeved green shirt with black slacks. The girl had a curious look on her face.
"Who are you?" Jeremy asked, puzzled.
The girl didn't answer them as she reached into her pocket and pulled out a gold like digivice. That reassembled their own. "A friend" she announced.
"Another digidestined!?" Yolei asked in shock."Did your digimon get captured as well?" She asked quickly.
The girl shook her head softly and gestured for the four of them to follow her.
The group of four followed after her. "I have a bad feeling about her. She seems to have a few screws loose." Ogremon whispered to the others.
"Be nice." Yolei hissed back underneath her breath.
The girl lead them through the desert. Before she reached a small rocky formation. "Right here" she announced. She reached out and pulled on a small part of the rock. A small click was heard, and a small hatch was opened before them.
"Friends are inside." She gestured for them all to have a look.
Jeremy peered in the dark passaveway before him. "Are you sure they are down there?" He asked. Peering back towards the pink haired girl. Only to see that she wasn't there anymore.
"Huh?" Yolei took a few steps back in shock. "Where did she go!?" She quickly looked around the desert area. "She couldn't have just vanished!? Right!?...Unless." her face grew pale. "Unless if she is a ghost."
"There isn't such things as ghost." Ogremon whispered. But he sounded as if he was trying to reassure himself.
Elecmon hummed and stepped through the hatch. "Look, either we could stand here freaked out all day. Or we could look for your friends. Whatever happened was strange. But strange things always occur in the digital world."
Jeremy sighed and followed after him. Yolei followed close behind, with Orgemon trudging along in the rear.
"It's pitch dark in here. " Yolei whispered. The lavander haired girl reached out and grabbed for Jeremy's hand. The older boy squuezed her hand for comfort.
"Thank you, Jeremy."
"No problem. I won't let anything bad happen to you." He reassured her.
A faint blush formed on Yolei's cheeks as she walked by his side.
A small fit of laughter sounded somewhat from the darkness.
"Did anyone else hear that?" Ogremon asked.
The laughter grew. Coming from more sources around them.
"You know...part of me thinks we were lead into a trap." Jeremy gritted his teeth. To answer his nightmare. Purple light started to fill the room. The light source was from the group of five digimon that floated before them.
They each reassumbled a hyena. That had spotted gray fur and armor that covered their upper bodies. Their tail was ghost like and made up their lower halves.
"I never seen digimon like those before." Elecmon growled underneath his breath.
One of the digimon licked his lips with a green toungue. "Lunch"
Jeremy stood before Yolei with a worried look across his face.
"Jeremy..."
"Heavy fog!" The group of five digimon cried. A heavy fog of darkness started to surrond the four of them.
"Not again!" Yolei cried. Pressing her face into Jeremy's back.
"Everyone stay close and listen." Elecmon insructed. Everyone grew quiet. Staring around the dark mass of energy that surrounded them.
A snarl suddenly was heard from the right as one of the digimon rushed towards Ogremon.
"Bone Whack!" With a load whack from his bone club. The armor hyena was sent soaring back into the dark mass.
Two more shouts came from out of the mist. Anger across their canine faces as their friend was just attacked. "Ghost whip!" Their puprle tails changed from purple to a dark green. As they aimed their tails for Elecmon and Ogremon.
Elecmon narrowed his eyes as electricity coursed around his body. "Thunder knife!" Two bolts of electricity were shot forward at the two incoming digimon. Causing them to whine out in pain as the electricity coursed through their own bodies.
"Take that!" Yolei cheered. A small opening in the dark energy formed. Showing a passageway away from the area. "Look a way out" jeremy pointed out.
"You three go on ahead. I should be able to take them all on by myself." Ogremon growled as dark energy surronded his fist. "Pummel whack" the champion digimon launched an energy blast at another digimon.
"I should be fine on my own."
Elecmon nodded softly. "We will be back with the others shortly.
Elecmon dashed forward with Jeremy and Yolei on his tail. The sounds of the battle behind them echoed through the passageway.
The three of them continued to run through the dark passgeway. Until they found a small door on their left.
"A door?" Jeremy asked. The boy opened the door. To find Agumon and Labramon tied up against one another.
"Hungry..." Labramon whined softly.
"It's Agumon and Labramon!" Yolei announced. Rushing forward to untie the two digimon.
Agumon and Labramon sighed in relief as they were finally untied.
"We are sorry to make you all come this way. But without being able to digivovle is really challenging. If i was able to become Wargreymon. The dark emperor wouldn't be able to stand a chance." Agumon mumbled.
Labramon nodded as he rubbed his stomach. "We've been down here for so long...i've started to become strave deprived. I'm gonna need to eat. Or i'm gonna die." He cried.
Agumon sweat dropped. "You really do overreact, don't chu?"
Labramon chuckled softly as he rubbed the back of his neck.
Jeremy peered around the cramp space they were in. The room was about four feet wide and four feet across. It was made of stone and their wasn't really anything important about the room.
"Hmm... where are the others..." Yolei whsipered sadly. "Have you guys seen Davis or the others."
Agumon shook his head softly. "No, we haven't seen them at all." He said sadly. "What happened to them?"
"They were captured." Yolei pointed out
"Grr...that digimon emperor really gets on my nerves." Labramon snarls as he bawled his fists.
"Something should really should be done about him." Yolei agreed.
Jeremy stepped out of the room. "You guys should head that way." He pointed in the direction of the fight. "Ogremon is currently fighting digimon by himself. Do you guys think you could help him out?"
"You bet."
"Got it"
The two rookie digimon ran down the passageway.
"Well, we found those two. Now we just need to find the others." Yolei sighed in relief.
Jeremy peered down the passageway before them. "Let's go." He made his way forward. Elecmon smiled warmly as he noticed him taking the lead. Unknowingly to the three of them. Jeremy's orange digivice glew softly.
The group continued their way. It gasped as they found themselves in a small opening. In front of them were their friends on either side of the walls chained by their wrist.
"Guys!" Yolei cried out. As she made her way over to Hawkmon to check on him. "Are you okay?"
Hawkmon slowly opened his eyes. "Yolei...what are you guys doing here?" He asked in a daze.
The others slowly open their eyes. "Jeremy and Yolei! Were you guys captured as well?" Kari asked in surprise.
Jeremy shook his head. "No, we were able to find you guys -"
"I don't want to ruin your guys reunion. But we really should get them out of here." Elecmon pointed out.
"Wait, guys. You have to get our digivices. It's in the labatory ahead of us. The digimon emperor was using this new digiamour to enhance the digimon he brainwashed. And he is trying to take ours."
"Don't worry. We will get them." Yolei announced. The lavander haired girl rushed forward and cried out as something burst out of the ground.
A creature stood on his fours. The beast was made out of a slime rocky texture. The creature had six eyes and two tails that whipped behind him. At the end of his tail, which had human hands. The creature's eyes narrowed to slits.
"You must get through me." He growled.
"It's another one of those armor digimon." Jeremy cried out. As he rushed forward to help Yolei.
Yolei cried out as the creature pounced on top of her. The creature opening it's maw and snarled at her.
"Get off of her!" Jeremy yelled.
"Jeremy, help me!" She begged.
"Yolei" Cody shouted out worridly.
Inside of the labatory, a screen flashed on. Showing up on the screen was the digimon emperor. "Well, lookey here. Haven't the flies flown into my web. I finally got all the prizes in the box." He laughed madly.
"You will never win!" Simon growled. Trying to break free from the shackles that held him still.
The digimon emperor snapped his fingers. " Isopomon, why don't you get rid of the trash."
The digimon that stood before Yolei slowly started to bare down closer to her neck. The creature's fangs are closing in. Yolei screamed as the digimon drew closer to her.
"No!" Jeremy yelled.
Elecmon narrowed his eyes as he stood by Jeremy's side.
Jeremy's digivice started to let out a bright green light from his pocket.
"Huh?"
The energy started to surrond Elecmon. As he started to change before them all. "Elecmon digivovle too...Leomon!" He roared.
The lion digimon rushed forward. Unsheathing his sword from behind his back. He lashed out and struck him in the side.
Throwing the reptile to the side. Jeremy eyes grew wide as he pulled out his digivice. "Wait...Leomon is my partner?" He asked in surprise.
"How was Elecmon able to digivovle? Their has to be a control spire somewhere nearby, right?" Davis asked, puzzled.
"What!? How dare you." The digimon emperor growled. "Isopomon, kill them now!"
"Muck blast!" The created open it's maw as it shot out a blast of mud. Leomon slashed out at the incoming attack. As red like energy started to form around his fist. "Fist of the beast king!"
The creature cried out as another strike hit him full on.
"Good job, Leomon!" Jeremy shouted.
"Mud strike!" Leomon gasped as two more Isopomon struck him from behind.
"Oh god, they're are more?" Yolei cried. The lavander haired girl and Jeremy rushed into the room.
Yolei made her way to a table. Where her friend's digivices were plugged in. "I found the digivices." She started to unplug them all.
"Stay away from those. They don't belong to you." The digimon emperor growled.
"Why don't you stay quiet." Jeremy turned off the communication on the screen. Smirking as his face faded away from the screen.
Jeremy turned his head and hummed as his eyes landed on the digi armor. "Okay, that's enough problems for you." The boy narrowed his eyes as he wrapped his hands around the object. "Because you aren't supposed to be used for evil. You are supposed to be used for protection."
Jeremy grunted softly as he lifted the digi armor from the table. Relief flooded Jeremy as he held it. He truly felt like a digidestined. He rushed out of the lab. "Digi armor energize!"
The armor started to glow brightly, along with Jeremy's digivice.
"Leomon digi armor digivovle too..." Bright light surronded him. Images of Bearmon, Grizzlymon, and Loaderleomon flashed behind him.
"Beserkmon" a newly formed lion digimon, appeared from the light. He wore a wooden mask, and he wore animal robes.
"Time to end this." The lion struck the ground with his paw. "Earth's protection!" Spikes formed from the ground. Launching the Isopomon into the air. Causing them to shrink in size and become small rookie like digimon. Landing on the ground with a soft whine.
"It's Huitzomon." Hyokkomon pointed out. (Huitzomon is an oc digimon that was shown in my digimon correction story.)
Berserkmon flashed in a bright light as he reverted back into Leomon. The light flying into Jeremy's digivice.
Yolei smiled warmly as she typed away at the keyboard. Causing everyone on the walls to be freed from the shackles.
"It's so good to be free from that." Kari sighed in relief. Rubbing her wrist.
Orgemon stepped into the opening with a group of ghosts like dogs. "And those are Reymon. They must have been changed into those hyena like digimon by the digimon emperor." Leomon pointed out. (Reymon is also a digimon that was shown in digimon correction)
"Thank you so much for freeing us." One of the Reymon spoke up.
Jeremy peered over at Leomon. "Well, it looks like i finally found my partner digimon. I hope you are okay with that."
Leomon nodded softly. "It would be my honor to stand by a digidestined."
Yolei giggled. "This is great, big bro! You finally got your digimon."
Jeremy blushed softly. "Big bro?"
"Yeah, i've decided from this day forward. You will be my big brother. The brother i never had."
Cody rolled his eyes. "What about Mantarou?"
"Who?"
A small chuckle formed from the group.
"Looks like i'm going to have to run Toy town on my own then."
Leomon smiled softly. "So it does seem. My old friend. But if you ever do need help. I will always be of assistance."
Jeremy smiled down at his digivice. He pleased that he can finally call himself a digidestined.
