Rina's eyes glowed orange as she placed both hands on the door as light emanated from her hands. 

"Oh please...don't let me stop you" a familiar voice drawled out from behind them as they whirled around to face Jade in shock.

"Jade" Sam muttered in shock.

"Was this your master plan?" Jade asked them, cocking her head to the side with a mocking smirk. "Trapping me in a magic-inhibiting room?" she said, taking a menacing step toward them, "are you forgetting who taught you magic, Samaat?"

"You've been messing with dangerous magic, Jadenna. You left us no choice" Sam spoke up from her spot beside Rina, who glanced uneasily between both sisters.

"I'm almost offended that you thought I wouldn't be able to tell" Jade says to them with a pout, "I guess the cat is out the bag then."

"I don't wanna have to do this, Jade, but you've forced my hand" Sam says to her sister, approaching her.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you" Jade commented in a smug tone that made Sam and Rina arch their brows at this.

"What have you done?" Rina asks her suspiciously while Jade inspected her nails with a bored expression.

"A simple bloodline binding spell. No biggie" she admitted with a shrug.

Sam looked at her in horror at this.

"Jadenna–"

"What does a bloodline binding spell mean?" Rina asks them, looking between them in question but realizing that it can't mean anything good given the horrified look on Sam's face.

"It means..."

"That if you block my magic then you block Sam's too" Jade informed her. "Same bloodline and all."

"Ah shit" Rina curses, knowing that she can't afford to lose both Jade AND Sam's magic.

"I always tell you, Samaat...contingencies" Jade said to her with a mocking smirk that looked weird on the other woman's face. "Now if you'll excuse me" she said, turning to leave them standing there.

"You won't be able to call on Kim anymore! I've made sure of that!" Sam shouted after her, making Jade freeze in her steps at this.

"What did you do?!" she growled out, whirling around to face her sister and Rina so fast that they're surprised she didn't break her neck.

"Contingencies" Sam retorted just before Godric flashed over to them and placed a pair of handcuffs on Sam's hands.

She screamed in outage at this, trying to get the handcuffs off but with no such luck given that Sam had made them specifically to contain the dark magic that Jade was using.

"Get these off me right now, Samaat!" Jade demanded when Sam approached her while Godric took Rina into his arms.

"Take Rina and go, sheriff. I'll handle this" Sam said to him.

He nodded at this before disappearing with his pregnant mate.

"You may have taught me magic, Jadenna, but you didn't teach me everything" she coolly reminded her sister.

"Get these off me or I will kick your fucking ass!" Jade growled angrily before trying to summon her magic only to end up screaming in pain as the cuffs burned her. "You little bitch!" Jade sneered angrily.

"Now you're just being mean" Sam mocked with a pout, "no name calling."

"I'll fucking kill you!" Jade exclaimed, running at her only to bounce back against Sam's barrier.

"Look at you, Jadenna. You're so consumed with dark magic that you'd even try to kill your own sister" Sam comments sadly.

"I won't try. I will!"

"Why? Because I won't let you ruin your life and get yourself killed?!"

"I love her!" Jade shouted, "you have no idea..."

"You're right" Sam cut in, "I don't know what it's like to lose someone like that but I know that if I let you place Kim's soul in someone else's body then I would have failed as a witch and your baby sister" she said. "The council would have your head on a spike, Jadenna! It's bad enough that you've been tearing at the barrier to the afterlife by bringing Kim's spirit to come see you!"

"Then let them kill me!" Jade snapped, "or better yet you can do it yourself since you're such a powerful witch now!" she mocked, "go ahead, Sammat. Get rid of your bad older sister. Get rid of the one touched by the evil that is in our bloodline!" she shouted before latching her hand onto Sam's wrist as her eyes turned black.

Sam shook her head sadly at this as Jade screamed when the cuffs burned her once more.

"Look at you, Jade" Sam muttered in sadness, drawing her arm back from her sister's touch.

Jade also staggered away from her sister in horror when she realized what she'd tried to do.

"You're so hungry for magic that you would even siphon from me" she remarked in a tone of hurt.

"S-Samaat, I–" Jade stuttered out in wide-eyed horror at the person that she'd become. "I'm sorry" Jade said tearfully before rushing into the  bathroom, locking the door behind her before vomiting into the toilet.

Sam slowly approached the bathroom door and exhaled slowly, sinking onto the ground and leaning against the door.

She waited until her sister was finished with spewing her guts out before speaking.

"I forgive you" she said simply, knowing that it was the dark magic that made her sister do all these things. "You're just sick, Jade" she mutters, "But you will get better" she promised.

Jade leaned against the other side of the door with a solemn sigh.

She couldn't even recognize the person that she's become anymore.

Godric held Rina in his arms and had his hands placed gently atop her belly as she lay against his chest.

"I should have noticed sooner" she commented sadly.

"She was quite good at hiding it" Godric comforts his mate for what she felt was her failure at not noticing sooner that Jade was using dark magic.

"Nevertheless, I should have seen it" Rina comments sadly. "I've been so preoccupied trying to help Sam with getting better control of her magic and finding a cure for Jules' lycanthropy that I missed the signs that Jade also needed my help" she states solemnly.

"It is not your fault, mo grá" Godric says to her. "You've always done the best that you could. Given the burdens that you carry it is possible for some things to slip between the cracks."

"Do you think that she'll get better?"

"I am uncertain" Godric replies.

"I need her to be okay again" Rina says, "I'm going to need all of you when it comes time for the baby to come" she said while Godric tenderly caresses her yet-to-grow belly.

"I'm optimistic that Sam will know how to help her sister" Godric comments.

(A few days later)

Jade was sweating through her clothing as she lay in bed, vomiting occasionally into the dustbin that Sam had placed next to her bedside for her.

She shook vehemently, feeling weak and the sickest that she's ever been as she started the process of detoxing the dark magic from her body.

She still wore the magic restraining handcuffs on her hands, which made doing anything difficult but Sam refused to take them off.

"How is she doing?" Rina asked Sam in concern after making her way into Jade's room where she saw her friend looking extremely clammy while she slept atop her bed.

"It's a process" Sam replied sadly. "We're lucky she wasn't hooked deeper."

"I hate seeing her like this" Rina comments sadly.

"Me too" Sam states, "but this is the best way to help her" she asserted. "What about you? How are you feeling?"

"Oh I'm great" Rina responds teasingly, "I spend most of my mornings vomiting my guts out and I can't keep certain things down."

Her belly was growing quickly and she and Godric surmised that the child's heritage was the reason for this.

She already looked like she was 21 weeks pregnant instead of just 8 weeks pregnant.

"It's a good thing that Eric and Nora sent for someone to help you out then, isn't it?" Sam stated referring to Constanza, the Hispanic caretaker that had been sent by Godric's children to watch over Rina during the day.

Sam knows that part of the reason that they sent her was because they didn't fully trust her and Jade but she didn't point this out to Rina.

Rina hated that the poor woman was compelled to think that she was the one who paid for her services but Nora reassured her that the woman was paid handsomely for her services so Rina let it be.

"I guess" Rina replied.

While she appreciated the gesture, she hated how Godric and his line could sometimes treat her like a child, although maybe she was one in comparison to them given that they were in their hundreds and thousands and not to mention that now that she's pregnant they're treating her more like she's an egg than ever.

"I am so happy for you, mija" Isabel said to the younger woman when she came to see Rina and Godric.

Since Godric didn't like straying too far from Rina, especially with the whole pregnancy the two of them made a deal whereby he and Joe would go hunting in the woods nearby while she and Isabel caught up and engaged in some 'girl talk'.

"You will be an amazing mother" Isabel stated with a beaming smile after removing her hands from Rina's belly.

She taken to wearing large sized clothing now though she still refused to wear maternity clothing until she absolutely had to.

She thought that it looked ugly and unflattering even though Godric kept reassuring her that he loved her regardless of what she wore.

Or didn't wear.

"Thanks Bel" Rina says, "I'm a little nervous though" she found herself confessing to the other woman.

"About the child being half-vampire?"

"Well that" Rina admits, "and because childbirth seems...excruciating and terrifying."

She doesn't know what possessed her to watch videos of childbirth but she deeply regretted that decision.

"You need not worry" Isabel says to her, "we will make sure that the experience is as seamless as possible" she promised the younger woman.

She is certain that Godric already had back up plans ranging from A to Z for when the baby arrived, whether during the day or the night.

"When are you going for your first checkup?"

"It's happening soon. Believe it or not courtesy of none other than one Eric Northman" Rina commented with an eye roll, making Isabel chuckle at this.

"Dare I ask?" Isabel asks amusedly.

"Even I'm not sure, Bel" Rina said with a snicker just before Godric and Joe reappeared in the nest in the blink of an eye. "Good hunt?" she asked them with a smirk.

"It was okay" Joe replied with a casual shrug.

Rina knows that part of the reason why he didn't go into any detail is because even after all this time her twin still doesn't like discussing aspects of his undead life with her.

"I am just pleased that you managed to convince him to hunt, Rina" Isabel says, "he barely eats nowadays due to his eagerness to go and see his new girlfriend" she teased her progeny.

"New girlfriend? When did this happen?" Rina wondered in surprise.

"She isn't my girlfriend" Joe says but Rina is sure that if he could still blush then he would be blushing right now. "We're friends."

"Yeah right" Rina snorts.

"Enough about me" Joe says after clearing his throat uncomfortably, "How is my niece or nephew treating you?" he said, redirecting the attention away from himself.

"I see through you" Rina says to her twin, whose only response was to give her an innocent look that made her chuckle at this.

"Promise me that you'll name him or her after me?" he teased his sister.

Isabel and Godric regarded the sibling interaction in amusement.

"You wish."

"It's only fair since I'm the awesome uncle" Joe says.

"I imagine that you may have to argue with Eric for that honour, Joseph" Godric says to the younger vampire.

"I'm sure I can take him" the younger vampire teased good-naturedly.

"Joe, I thought you'd left already" Sam commented in surprise when she saw the younger vampire after he knocked on the door of Jade's room and peeked his head inside when Sam told him to enter.

"Hey" he said, stepping into the bedroom where Jade slept with her back turned from her sister. "How's she doing now?"

"She's getting there day-by-day" Sam replies.

Given what Rina had told him about Jade's condition during this whole detoxing process her responses were closer in similarity to those of drug addicts except worse because it was magic and not a drug that could be fully purged from her bloodstream.

"How are you doing, Sam?"

"I'm okay. How are things with you?"

"They're okay" he says with a shrug. "What?"

"Rina told me that you have a girlfriend" she said with a smirk that made him groan.

"We're just friends."

"Have you kissed this 'friend'?" she asked, using air quotations.

"You're just as bad as Rina."

"I'll take that as a yes" Sam teases. "Is she a vampire? Human?"

"Human" he replies, "a really....weird human" he added with a slight frown in after thought, making Sam chuckle at this.

"Weird how?"

"She's not scared of me" he replies.

"That's a good thing though."

"She's human. Humans break easily. Not to mention she lives with a vampire and they're secretive about how that came to be."

"You think she's more than human? That they're hiding something big?"

"It wouldn't be the first time that's happened" he said, directing her with a pointed look, referring to her and Jade.

"Do you wanna know what I think?"

"I'm sure you'll tell me regardless."

"I think you're looking for an excuse so that you can keep this woman at arms length" Sam says to him. "You're scared about letting someone else into your circle."

"Someone's been watching too much Dr. Phil" Joe teased in response.

"You won't know how amazing this could be if you don't give it a shot, Joe" Sam said with a smile, ignoring his teasing comment. "You owe it to yourself" she encouraged as he considered her words.

Godric placed his hand atop Rina's belly, tenderly caressing the small bump that was starting to form as she hummed in response to his touch.

"I love you" he whispered, placing a tender kiss to her shoulder blade after they've made love, with Godric being as gentle as he could be so that he didn't hurt Rina or their baby.

It still stunned him that after 2,000 years his living, breathing child would live and walk the earth and all of this on account of the woman that lay in his arms.

He's been reading up on pregnancy and he has to admit that he found it fascinating how one human could grow another in their womb.

He's always thought that his beloved Marina was beautiful but now that she carried their babe in her womb she seemed almost ethereal in his eyes.

She was a goddess and Godric would worship at her altar for all eternity.

"You better" she whispers drowsily.

He froze in his actions of caressing her stomach and this caused Rina to turn and face him in concern.

"Everything okay?" she asks him, worried that he might be hearing or sensing something that she couldn't. "Godric?" she said, looking at him in concern. "What? What's wrong? You're scaring me" she says with a frown. "Is it the baby?"

"Yes" he replies in a tone of shock. "I hear three heartbeats" he says to her.

"Twins?" Rina gasps in shock.

"No" he said, shaking his head, "yours is the fourth heartbeat" he revealed. "You are pregnant with triplets, my love" he reveals to her.

Rina laughs at this.

"No" she shakes her head but her laughter dies down when she realized that he wasn't laughing with her. "Triplets?!" she shouted in shock as he nodded at this. "Oh my god" she whispered in shock as she sat up and started to hyperventilate.

"Cam down, mo chroí" he said, trying to cam her down.

"I can't...I can't breathe" she said, struggling to breathe as Godric grabbed her a glass of water, which she accepted with shaking hands. "You're...sure?" she whispered in between sips.

He nodded at this, holding her close and trying to help her calm down.

Through his relationship with her he's come to know that humans value physical touch in moments of distress and while Marina isn't fully human she has been raised as one.

"Oh my god" Rina kept muttering as she tried to call down.

She could barely handle the idea of birthing one child and now she's finding out that it's actually three.

"Calm down, grá mo chroí. Your panic is elevating our children's heartbeats too" he pointed out as she started to calm more at this.

"3" Rina says with a large gulp. "3 babies, Godric."

"We'll have our work cut out for us" he replied, kissing the side of her head while she caressed her belly and he caressed her hands.

"I guess now we know why my belly is growing so quickly" she says as Godric nodded at this. "I can't believe you got me pregnant with 3 babies!" she huffed, punching his arm and causing him to chuckle in response.

"3 is the number of harmony, wisdom, understanding and new life, grá mo chroí" he replies, "if anything you should see how blessed we are."

"If I see Kuama again I'm totally going to kick her ass for not telling me sooner" Rina says with a childish huff.

"Yes, I'm sure the First Queen is trembling at the mere thought of that" Godric replied wryly.

Rina gave him a mock glare in response.

He gave her a cheeky look that not many have seen on the boy Death's face before capturing her lips in a kiss that she reciprocated.

Jaime Adams woke with gasp as the heart monitor in her hospital room  started going haywire.

The nurses and a doctor rushed into the room, thinking that she was flatlining only to be taken aback when they saw her choking due to all the tubes that had been helping her to breathe.

They rushed to quickly take them out.
