Emma
'American Team Finally Reveals Identity In Game Against Kaijo!'
What an odd newspaper name, but it seems to be the only thing talked about in Seirin today. Luckily, no one here saw the game or watched the videos.

Though, I have been avoiding someone since I stepped foot into this school. I'm pretty sure Marian is doing the same at Yosen.

Taiga Kagami and Tatsuya Himuro were our only friends on the block when they lived in America for basketball training. We played a lot of games together, so they would recognize us instantly should they ever come across us.

The only time we should really see them is on the court, but today doesn't seem to be my lucky day. Of course, it hasn't been my lucky day since ten years ago.

~|<TimeSkip>|~

"Damnit...." My driver just called in sick, so it looks like I'm staying behind.... And even better, the school's locked and it's about to rain...

"Why does the world hate me?" I mutter as I dash to the nearest building, open the door, and bend over really quick to catch my breath. Seems like I was just in time, as heavy rains started falling.

I didn't even notice where I was until shouts, the squeaking of shoes, and the familiar dribble of a basketball reach my ears.

Shit! I just had to dash to the gym! And Taiga's here! I curse in my mind, eyes wide with panic when a girl on the sidelines spots me.

"Hello, can we help you?" she calls, gaining the attention of everyone, including Taiga and a blue haired teen beside him. Taiga eyes widen as he slowly walks up, confusion playing on his face.

"Emma, you go here? Were you and the girls the ones that everyone is talking about?" he asks in English, and I hesitantly nod my head.

"Yeah, the Pack transferred to Japan about five months ago. It's good to see ya, Tiger," I smile tightly, and he lets out a little huffing growl at his childhood nickname.

"That's not my name and you know it. Now, how's Ela doing? Last I heard, she sent you all off to a conditioning camp." He walks up and grabs my head into a headlock, dragging me back to where the rest of the team are gathered.

"Mom's doing fine. She tries to call you and Tatsuya, but can't quite get the time difference figured out. Oh! And Alex says hi." Taiga quietly groans, still holding onto me.

"Of course. Did she steal anyone else's first kiss?"

"Nah, I think it was just you two. Still afraid of dogs?"

"O-oi!" he shouts, and I duck as he goes to cuff me. Taiga starts to chase me around, and I run like a hungry tiger is on my tail. (Which, now that I think of it, he probably is hungry.)

We suddenly became aware of the people around us when someone coughs. Kagami rubs the back of his head, embarrassed.

"Oops. Um, Emma, these are my teammates. You probably know most of them if you've been here for five months...." he trails off. "Guys, this is Emma, co-captian of the Pack and one of the few people that could speak Japanese where I learned basketball..."

I bow, smirking at some of the looks I'm getting. "Nice to meet you. I honestly was expecting to meet the famed basketball team that took down the GoM on the court, but this is just as good. I'm Silentis Emma, but please just call me Emma."

There's a bit of an awkward silence, and I notice the teen that was by Taiga's side is now looking at me curiously, and I give him the same look. He looks a bit startled for a second, realizing I see him.

"You're Kuroko Tetsuya, yea? From the little I've heard about you, you're a ghost," I murmur to him, and the slightest nod of his head confirms that. The rest of the team seems confused about who I'm talking to, before Kuroko speaks.

"You scared Kise-san when you played against him. He called Akashi-san to schedule a meeting. They'll be very interested to meet you and your team, I think," his voice monotonously replies, startling half the team, who let out a yelp and curse at him. I laugh, enjoying the atmosphere that surrounds the team.

No one

Later that night, as the girls drifted off in their own beds within their own houses, a meeting was taking place.

"And you're sure that these girls have capabilities that rival our own?" Akashi asks Kise, and the blond male nods.

"One was able to implement defenses that would counter my copycat skill. They didn't even try, Akashi-cchi. They just..... played. Even when they lost, they looked so happy. I haven't seen it before," Kise murmurs, voice serious.

All head turn, though, when the door opens and the final two invited to this meeting step in. Kuroko and Kagami watch the assembled five warily, but still approach when Akashi beckons.

"Hello gentlemen. I assume that you have some news, Kuroko, if you're demanding that Kagami joins you tonight," the red head captain states.

Kuroko nods his head, glancing over at his friend.

"I met Emma today," Kagami says simply. Kise gasps, and the others look confused. "She and her Pack have apparently been under all our noses for five months. They go to all our schools, separated."

Aomine, standing on the back, raises a lazy hand. "How do you know them? From just the way you said that girl's name, you must somehow." The others nod, even Kuroko.

Kagami sighs, rubbing his neck. "When I first moved to America, the only friend/rival I had was Tatsuya. It wasn't until my third year there that we befriended eight girls who lived right down the block, and had a passion for sports, basketball in particular. They were reserved at first, and never spoke to us in more than three phrases. It wasn't until Tatsuya and I challenged their captians, Emma and Kylee, that they really lit up and started go lower their guard around us. I'd like to think that we were the only friends they trusted. The Pack is the most loyal thing I know. If you have their trust and loyalty, they would travel to hell and back for you. They don't play competitively, but from what I last heard a coach was looking at them, maybe gonna make them into a team. They got along really well, I guess. The only reason they're here is to play. Us or whoever, but they'll play. Probably won't even break out the big guns." The room is silent as the others take this in.

"'Big guns'? What does that mean?" Midorima pushes up his glasses as he speaks.

"Basically, their abilities could probably rival yours, as I said. But I have only seen seven. Kylee, with her mirror defense, Sasha, with her insane speed, Cass, an amazing pressure shot, Amy, a rigid defense that's hard to beat, Marian, with her on-the-dime dunks, Perry, her passes rival Kuroko's, and Karol, her aptness at weaving around defenders is almost astonishing. Only one has yet to show what she can do, but I know that Emma would by far be the most difficult."

"Oh?"

"They are all incredibly talented, and not to be taken lightly, but I've only ever seen the other girls use their talents, never Emma. She probably doesn't want to use it, but it may be something else. Probably that there's no one with a good enough challenge. I could tell just from how Emma spoke that the Pack held back in the game against you, Kise."

"I intend to find out why. Thank you for meeting me, boys. Any new info should be shared as soon as it's found," Akashi dismisses them, a new fire being lit inside each one, with the exception of Kagami, who was worried about them harassing his friends.
