Kakashi had never felt so incompetent as he lay in bed. Minato Sensei had put him on strict bed rest or else he would force him to go to the hospital. It was a good thing he had completed all of his homework. Kakashi painfully sat up in the four-poster bed determined to go downstairs to the Common Room, until Pakun placed his paw on his arm stopping him.
"You heard what Minato Sensei said, your supposed to stay here." Pakun scolded.
"Yeah here, as in Gryffindor Tower." Kakashi argued back. Pakun glared at him.
"I'll let you feel my paw." Pakun offered as he held out his soft paw, Kakashi eyed him suspiciously.
"Why won't you let me leave, you've never been one to actually listen to Minato Sensei." Kakashi said, Pakun sighed.
"You used your Sharingan extensively when you cast that genjutsu, you have not replenished your chakra levels, also I can tell that your in pain." Pakun said seriously.
"I'm just going to go downstairs, besides I can't sleep anymore." Kakashi said standing up, using the dresser to steady himself.
"Nightmares?" Pakun inquired. Kakashi ignored the question and clumsily made his way down the stairs, leaving Pakun alone in the dorm.
Harry, Ron and Hermione were sitting around one of the tables finishing their homework when they saw Kakashi stumble down the stairs wearing a tight sleeveless shirt and black pants. Ron snickered at the Shinobi's attempts to walk normaly. Kakashi sat down heavily on the plump couch, sinking into the cushions.
"How are you feeling?" Hermione asked nicely, noticing Kakashi's discomfort.
"Fine. I'm just sick of having to stay inside the tower for the next two days." Kakashi replied annoyed.
"Sorry... well, we're going to head down to the Great Hall for supper. I'll bring you something to eat later alright?" Hermione said sweetly.
Kakashi had grown used to Hermione's protective personality, so it didn't bother him as much as it used to. He smiled a thanks towards her direction and she blushed when all of a sudden two redheads that Kakashi remembered as Ron's brothers, Fred and George, sat next to him. One twin on each side of him.
"Don't worry Hermione." George said.
"We will look after him." The other finished while both of them wrapped an arm around Kakashi.
"Thank you, just be sure that he doesn't leave the tower. Minato Sensei's orders." She said sternly.
"On our honor." They said in unison smiling an evil grin towards Kakashi.
The trio left through the portrait hole, leaving Kakashi behind with the twins.
"So, we overheard that you are suffering from a little cabin fever." Fred said.
"We have just the remedy for that." George said.
Kakashi looked at them questionably, not really wanting to know what they had in mind. He had heard from Minato Sensei and a lot of the other Professors that these two were a dangerous combination. Always pulling pranks and getting into trouble. They attended detention more than they attended actual class.
"It works like this, we help you... you help us. We overheard from the other students that you posses a type of magic that disoriates the mind. Well, we need to get into Hogsmeade tonight so that we can get some supplies for our products. We have a lot of orders to fill and it cannot wait until the next visit to Hogsmeade." Fred explained.
"We already know how to get to Hogsmeade unseen, so that won't be a problem. However, once we are in Hogsmeade, that's when we will need your help. You can conceal us so we don't get caught." George said right after Fred, finishing his sentence.
"And by doing so, we get what we want while helping you get out of the castle for some fresh air and adventure, we will also throw in some of our products for free!" Fred finalized, holding out his hand in agreement.
Kakashi was actually impressed with their plan. It now made sense how they were able to pull off some of the crazy things they did. He grabbed Fred's hand and shook it, along with George's.
"Only one problem though." Kakashi interrupted, "I am currently incapable of performing even the simplest of tasks at the moment, such as walking." He shrugged.
"Don't worry, we thought of that too." George said standing up, gesturing for Kakashi to get on his back. Kakashi groaned as he was helped up by Fred, who assisted him onto the tall teens back. George held onto Kakashi's legs at the knees unaffected by the added weight.
"Woah mate, you are light!"George exclaimed. "We should have told Hermione to bring you two plates of food."
"Well you have to remember George, he is rather short." Fred said bluntly. If Kakashi weren't wearing his face mask, they would have seen him bear his teeth at them like a wolf.
"But it's more than that Fred, he's like a feather!"
"If you make one more comment about my size I swear I will kill you both in your sleep." Kakashi threatened. The twins just laughed at him, not taking the threat seriously. Kakashi knew that he was officially doomed.
They made there way down the corridors silently, Kakashi was once again impressed with their skills concerning stealth, whereas Harry's was greatly lacking. They both knew to keep to the shadows while taking notice of every detail to avoid detection. Fred then leaned down to floor level to shift a slab that led down a dark pathway. Kakashi hadn't noticed this on his patrolls, he was now glad he decided to accompany the twins.
"Alright, you and Kakashi will take the lead so that he can cast the spell once we make it inside Honeydukes Sweetshop."Fred said.
George jumped down into the hole holding Kakashi tightly, so as to not injure him. If they returned with Kakashi more injured than he already was, Hermione would have their heads, and they new better that to cross the bushy haired witch.
The tunnel was pitch black when Fred put the slab back into its original position. George took out his wand and whispered "Lumos", Kakashi saw his wand project a soft white light that illuminated the pathway. The trek was longer than he had expected and to his embarassment, he had dozed off a couple of times, resting his head on the gingers shoulder. He wondered if the Golden Trio had returned from the Great Hall, he hoped not because he knew that Hermione would tell Minato Sensei that he and the twins were gone.
They finnaly made it to the end of the tunnel after what felt like an hour. George pushed a trapdoor open and handed Kakashi to Fred while he climbed up to the surface. Fred then lifted Kakashi up to be grabbed again by George. Kakashi didn't like being passed around like a ragdoll, but he knew it was the only way, so he didn't comment on it. If Minato were to see this, he would never live it down.
"Alright, so after we grab a couple of things from here we will head out to Dervish and Banges, which is just down the street. And that's when we will need you Kakashi." George said as he set Kakashi down on the floor to the teens relief. He was already starting to feel exhausted and he hoped that he would be able to uphold his end of the deal.
Kakashi watched the two work in perfect unison, admiring their teamwork. If only he and Obito had worked so well together, if they had Obito might not be dead right now. Fred and George had stored all of the sweets they acquired in a small leather pouch that seemed to hold anything you put in it. It was rather quite remarkable in Kakashi's oppinion, it was like storing items in a scroll. Except far more convenient because you didn't have to use complex seals or blood to release the items when needed. He made a mental note to ask them about it later.
"Alright, I think that's everything George." Fred said breaking the silence walking towards Kakashi after leaving some money on the countertop.
"You don't look so good mate, are you sure you can do this. Because we won't push you otherwise." Fred said looking over the pale teen. He had heard from Ron that Kakashi had overexherted himself using really advanced magic called jutsu.
"I will be alright, I've done much more in worse conditions." Kakashi reasured. He was not yet ready to return to the castle, he also wanted to take a look around Hogsmeade Villiage. Fred smiled at him, happy that Kakashi was still willing to help them out. He would make a valuable asset in the future Fred thought to himself.
"Alrighty then, Let's get going princess!" George said scooping Kakashi into his arms bridal style, to Kakashi's utter humiliation. Fred peeked through the curtain to get a view outside. Madame Rosemary and a few others were gathered around outside The Three Broomsticks.
"There are seven people outside that I can see, are you ready?" Fred asked Kakashi.
"Hai." He replied lifting his Haite-ate for the fourth time that week. Fred and George looked at him weirdly.
"Uh, don't you have a wand?" George asked skeptically.
"I don't need a wand." Kakashi said reveiling the Sharingan.
"That is wicked." They said together.
They opened the front door to the shop, stepping into the street, completely visible now. Madame Rosemary and the others turned towards them, one of the males face filled with rage as he recognized the twins Hogwarts robes.
"What are you doing here at this time of night! I shall notify the Headmas...." The man was saying before his eyes fell onto Kakashi, who trapped him and the others in a genjutsu, knocking them out.
"What the hell did you do?" George asked looking down at Kakashi in his arms, awe written all over his features.
"I'll explain once we get back to the dorm, but for now we need to hurry." Kakashi replied breathing heavily. Fred led the way to Dervish and Banges, unlocking the door. The twins worked as quickly as they could, once again leaving money on the countertop.
They made their way back to Honeydukes unseen and through the tunnel once more. Kakashi had guessed that they were gone for a good three hours. It was an hour till midnight and the only sound present was the soft snoors of the people in the paintings. That was one aspect of the castle that Kakashi did not enjoy, he hated the feeling of being constantly watched, especially while guarding the castle at night. Kakashi hoped that they wouldn't run into Minato Sensei as he patrolled the castle if Hermione hadn't already reported them. So far he could sense no trace of his esteemed sensei, however that didn't calm his nerves. Minato was an expert at avoiding detection, he could mask his scent and chakra. Making him completely invisable, even to Kakashi.
As they turned the corner, Kakashi caught the unmistakable scents of Professor Snape and Professor Moody.
"George. Fred. There is a cupboard on your right, get into it now. Snape and Moody are heading this direction." He whispered to them silently. They quietly squeezed into the small broom cupboard uncomfortably, there was barely enough room for even one person. So Kakashi reached up and put his hands to the ceiling, molding himself onto the wall with chakra to give the twins room. They looked up at him with smiles plastered onto their faces. Oh how they wanted to learn how to do that so badly.
"Do you hear that?" Snape asked Moody, stopping to look around the hallway.
"No" Professor Moody said pausing to wait for Snape. He looked around with his magical eye trying to see if he could possibly find what Snape had heard, when his eyes landed on the three masses in a closet.
"It's nothing Severus. However, I am going to have to decline your previous offer. I'm to tired to indulge for a small drink, maybe some other time." Moody said. Snape nodded his head and continued down to the dungeons. Mad-Eye waited until the man was out of earshot, turning on the spot to approach the closet.
"WHAT THE DEVIL ARE YOU THREE LUNATICS DOING OUT AT THIS HOUR OF THE NIGHT!" He yelled as he opened the door. The twins fell out landing on their stomachs. Kakashi released his hold on the ceiling landing on his feet, stumbling slightly.
"Your lucky I didn't say anything to Professor Snape. Now tell me wht you are doing wondering the castle after curfew?" Moody said glaring at them, his blue eye shifting back and forth between the three of them.
They looked uneasily at each other when George decided to speak.
"We escorted Kakashi to Minato Sensei's office because his condition worsened and he refused to go to the Hospital, so we settled on taking him to Professor Namikaze. He is feeling better now so we were heading back to the Common Room. That's when we heard Professor Snape, so we hid knowing that he wouldn't buy our story giving us detention." George lied easily. Moody mulled over the answer, deciding whether or not to trust the Weasly's words.
"Alright. You two head back, I have to discuss something with Mr. Hatake on an unrelated subject. I shall be sure that he makes it back to the Common Room. Good night." He said to the twins, leaving no room for an argument. Fred and George reluctantly left, sparing a glance back at Kakashi.
"Hatake, would you like to explain to me why you agreed to go to Hogsmeade Villiage in your condition?" Professor Moody asked. Kakashi looked at him shocked, if he had known where they'd been then why didn't he say so? Or more importantly, why did he let the twins off the hook?
"I needed some air." Kakashi replied, still unsure of what to make of the professor.
"Well the next time you leave the castle and decide to cast a genjutsu over the Minister of Magic during his stay in Hogsmeade Villiage, be sure you don't make the dream about cats." He said smiling at Kakashi.
"How... how did you?"
"You are not the only one with a keen instinct and a magic eye." Moody said. "Now, I want you to go to Gryffindor Tower without making any detours. If you do I shall know, and next time I will notify the Namikaze brat."
Kakashi slowly made his way back to the dorm. He had no idea what to think concerning Professor Moody. The man was impossible to read, and as Ron Weasly would say "he is completely mental!" However, Kakashi looked forward to getting to know the Ex-Auror better in the future.
