...........................................................

Kakashi found Hermione sitting alone in the Great Hall at breakfast with a large thick red leather book laying open in front of her. She looked completely focused on whatever it was she was studying, her hand was tightly grasped around her quill as she wrote. As he approached her, he noticed that she was leaning over a Japanese dictionary, her handwritten notes littering the parchment with messy Japanese characters.

"Good morning Hermione-san." He greeted in his normal bored tone. She looked up at him from her work, attempting to hide her notes from view.

"Good morning Kakashi." She said calmly.

"I see that you are trying to learn Japanese. Took you longer than I expected." He said grinning slightly, beginning to eat a bowl of rice. "Why the sudden interest?" He asked her.

"I-I was just curious about what that Bingo Book says about you. You didn't actually translate the text, you just gave a brief summary with no actual information." She said. "Besides, with all that has been going on, I thought it would be benifitial to learn considering our conversations could be easily overheard." She reasoned.

"If you wanted to learn, you could have just asked." He said honestly.

"I really don't want to trouble you. You have so much on your plate already, what with the Tournament and worrying about Harry." She said.

"It's no problem really, I can teach you the basics that a plain dictionary cannot offer. Besides, it would be nice to have something other than my work to focus on. I would enjoy teaching you Japanese." He offered  kindly.

"Really!? Because that would be so amazing Kakashi!" Hermione said excitedly, moving closer to him to show him her notes. Kakashi almost laughed at her poor attempt at Japanese grammar and character drawing. As Kakashi began instructing her on some of the basics Harry and Ron joined them looking exhausted.

Harry was not surprised to see Kakashi teaching Hermione Japanese. She had been telling him for weeks that she had wanted to learn. She was just waiting for the dictionary she ordered to come in.

After breakfast Victor Krum walked up to them in the Entrance Hall.

Good morning Herm-onne-inne." He said in a thick accent, totally butchering Hermione's name.

"Good morning Victor." She replied sweetly, turning pink.

"And good day to you 'Arry, Kashi." He said. Kakashi nodded his head towards the large Bulgarian, moving past him. Krum however quickly placed his hand on his sholdur, stopping him from leaving.

"V'er is som'zing I vanted to talk to you avout Kashi." Victor said deeply. "Is v'er somewhere ve could talk privately." Krum asked.

Kakashi nodded and led him to an empty corridor, where no one ventured because of Peeves. However, the Poltigerist wouldn't dare show his face again to Kakashi, the ghost had learned his lesson long ago.

"What?" Kakashi said a little rudely. Krum ignored the cold greeting, going straight to business.

"I vanted to apologize for my rude behavior towards you Kashi. I vas blinded by jealousy. Herm-inne told me much avout you, you are a good vriend to her." Victor said kindly.

Kakashi was taken back by his words, they being the last thing he expected from the stone faced Bulgarian.

"Thank you." Kakashi said, "I'm sorry too."

"You are not the one needing to apologize, you did nothing to me." Victor said.

"Not verbally or physically. However, I must admit that I thought many horrible things about you and might have plotted your demise multiple times." Kakashi said honestly, laughing slightly. Krum also started laughing, surprised by the boys words.

"Zen ve are even." Krum said holding out his hand in a friendly gesture. Kakashi grasped his hand firmly, shaking it.

"Kashi, I vould like to invite you to eat vith us tonight on the ship. All of us have been vanting to know more about you, particularly about how you accomplished ve second task." Victor said.

"Sure." Kakashi said flatly, keeping up his 'cool and hip' fascade as Gai would put it. Victor nodded his head, also keeping a calm and reserved attitude before walking away.

Kakashi quickly made his way over to Potions, admitably running so he wouldn't be late. His other classes he didn't care if he was late, he used that time to check the surrounding hallways to be sure that nothing was out of place. However, Potions class he had made an exception. He hated detention with Snape, so he made it a point to never be late. To his horror, he saw Snape just outside the large stone door. Quickly gaining his bearings Kakashi felt for the seal tag he left on the underside of his desk with his Chakra. Minato had been instructing him on how to teleport using the Flying Thunder God technique that he created himself. Kakashi hadn't quite gotten the hang of it yet, however, he was desperate.

Kakashi felt himself fly towards his destination, the sensation was painful and felt like he was flying through a furnace. Once he felt he accomplished teleporting  to his seat, he opened his eyes to see Harry practicality fall out of his chair.

Harry had been wondering what was taking Kakashi so long, Snape would be here any minute. Once he saw the Potions Master enter through the threshold, he knew that Kakashi would receive detention. But before he was able to turn to face the front of the class he saw Kakashi appear out of nowhere. Harry was so startled by the silver haired teens appearance, he fell out of his seat panting heavily, clutching his chest. Kakashi had practically given him a heart attack.

Kakashi turned to look down at Harry, grinning internally. He was happy because he performed the technique perfectly and because the look on Potter's face was absolutely priceless.

"H-how did you?" Harry stuttered as he sat back down in his seat.

"I used Minato Sensei's Flying Thunder God technique." Kakashi answered.

Harry recalled Minato Sensei using it all the time to scare them whenever one of them wasn't paying attention.

"Awesome." Was all Harry said.

"What is 'awesome', Mr. Potter." Snape said as he stood over Harry and Kakashi.

"Nothing Professor." Harry said quickly. Snape stared at him before turning towards Kakashi.

"Mr. Hatake, how nice of you to join us. I don't appreciate you using such unorthodox methods to get to class, however, you were technically present before I entered the classroom.  But to ensure that you don't use such means again, 30 points from Gryffindor." Snape said happily. There was a collection of groans and small cheers from the other students. Snape's face redened as the noise continued longer.

"Another 10 points from Gryffindor, I will not tolerate disrespect. I take away house points when I see that rules and regulations are not followed, if you wish to continue your whining I shall happily take away more points." Snape said maliciously.

The room instantly went quiet, except for the few snickers that erupted from the Slytherin house. Snape grinned as he got the result he wanted, turning to instruct the class on how to properly extract venom from a gnome.

After Potions, Kakashi and the others went to the Lake for their free period just before dinner, their classes being finished for the day. Hermione excitedly pulled out her Japanese dictionary sitting down next to Kakashi on the green grass.

"You know, I really think it would be a good idea for you two to learn Japanese as well. It would make it so much easier for us to talk in private." Hermione said.

"Uh, no thank you. I already have a hard time keeping up with the simplest of subjects. I don't need to add learning a language to that list." Ron said.

"Yeah, I agree with Ron." Harry said, pulling out a sheet of parchment to write his Transfigurations essay on.

"Fine, have it your way." Hermione said sourly.

"You know, you probably don't even need to learn Japanese yourself. Before I came here, Hagrid gave Minato Sensei and I a pendant that allowed us to speak English. I still can't speak English well without it." Kakashi said as he pulled the blue pendant necklace out from under his shirt. Hermione's eyes widened, a smile plastering into her face.

"Of course, a language charm! Why didn't I think of that!" She said excitedly. "Kakashi may I borrow that necklace for a while." She asked.

"Uh, I can't understand or speak English well without it." He said embarrassed. He knew the names of things, but still had a lot of trouble with grammar and tenses.

"Right, sorry. Could I have it tonight and all tomorrow? It's the start of the weekend for the third task, so there will be no classes until then. I promise to return it as quickly as I can. But sense this necklace is charmed to help speak english, it will be difficult to change the magic formula to help speak Japanese." She said. Kakashi groaned, but agreed. He pulled off the necklace handing it to Hermione, who quickly ran off with it heading to the Library.

"I think we should head back to the Castle as well, I don't want to be late for dinner." Ron said. Harry and Kakashi followed him towards the Castle before Kakashi remembered he had agreed to eat dinner with the Durmstrang's.

"Tonight I meet with Victor, Harry. Common Room I will meet you in later." Kakashi said in broken English, his accent showing through with each word he said. Ron couldn't help but burst out in laughter, Kakashi's accent and speech was totally hilarious. Harry, not wanting to offend Kakashi tried not to laugh as well.

"You sound hilarious mate!" Ron said loudly, his face was red while tears from his laughter fell down his cheek. He brushed the tears aside as he tried to regain control of his breathing.

"I know." Kakashi said irritated.

"I didn't know that you couldn't speak English before you came here. Your English isn't actually that bad for only having just learned it." Harry complemented, trying to cheer Kakashi up.

"Thank you." Kakashi said, wanting to keep his sentences short so that Ron couldn't make fun of him again. Also because he was still piecing together Harry's fast English, but he wouldn't tell him that. "Well, I must go." Kakashi said, hurrying off to the Southside of the Black lake, where the Durmstrang's ship was anchored.

On his way to the Durmstrang's place of residence while here for the Tournament, Kakashi met up with Victor Krum, who was waiting outside for him.

"Velcome, I'm glad you could make it." Krum greeted.

"I'm late, sorry." Kakashi said, hating that Hermione took the necklace before his dinner with the Durmstrang's.

"Are you alright, you sound different." Victor said, noticing the accent that Kakashi didn't have before.

"Hermione wanted to study charm that help me speak English." He said irritated. Krum instantly smiled at the mentioning of Hermione's name, grabbing Kakashi by the arm to lead him on board.

"She can be like that." He said understandably.

The deck of the large ship was impressive, it had three large masts that were carved out of gold. The physics of that did not make sense to Kakashi, however, most of the wonders of the Wizarding World did not make sense. All of the Durmstrang's students ranged from about 17 to 18 years of age. Kakashi assumed that they left the younger students behind in Bulgaria, considering that they were not permitted to participate anyway.

Victor led him below deck, where they entered a large room that resembled a dinning hall. The style of which reminded Kakashi of the Vikings. They sat down next to the head of the table, where Kakashi assumed Igor Karkaroff sat. The other Durmstrang students looked pleased that Kakashi had agreed to eat with them.

Kakashi watched as Karkaroff entered the room, sitting down at the head of the table. He didn't look as pleased as his students, in fact he looked infuriated at the teens presence. Kakashi assumed that the man was only going along with it because his favorite student had insisted.

Food did not appear at the table like it did in the Great Hall at Hogwarts. Instead, a whord of house elves entered through a side door, carrying large trays of delicious looking food. The elves were dressed in ragged clothing and they looked beated and abused. The Durmstrang's payed no mind to the elves, this being a normal thing for them. Victor noticed Kakashi's confusion at the sight of them.

"Haff you never seen house elves?" Victor asked.

"I have seen some in Hogwarts, but they do not exist where I come from." Kakashi said.

"Ah, where exactly is your Villiage?" Victor asked, serving himself some thickly cut steak.

"Outside of Japan, it does not exist on any map here." Kakashi said, also serving himself some food. He was pleased that none of it smelled sweet, in fact he could smell many forign spices and herbs.

"So your people must be using a very powerful concealment charm." Karkaroff said, listening in on their conversation.

"You could say so." Kakashi said, once again having difficulties with using European utensils.

"So, Kashi!" A large dark haired teen said from across the table, his thick muscles showing through his tight red uniform, "What magic vid you use during ve tournament. Ve judges vid not say." He asked curiously.

"I made clone of myself." Kakashi said, struggling to think of how to explain it in his limited english. The Durmstrang students didn't understand his meaning, so he decided that the best way to explain was to show them.

He put his pointer finger and middle fingers in an x-formation, summoning two clones to stand on either side of the room.

"I switched back and forth with them, to breath new air. They hid under the deck." He said, Victor and the others nodded their heads in understanding. They were all rather impressed and intrigued by Kakashi's style of magic, more so when they learned he had been holding his breath during most of the second trial.

Kakashi was glad that they were all as unfamiliar with English as he was, they also seemed happy about that as well. After the meal Kakashi, Victor and two other Durmstrang's named Vladimir and Deter went to the top deck to chat while the others went off to bed.

The top deck had black and red leather couches positioned into a circle, in the middle of the couches
was a large fire pit. The four teens sat around the pit, enjoying the heat that radiated from the fire.

"Haff you ever been anywhere outside of your Homeland other than Hogwarts?" Deter asked, resting his feet against the stone pit.

"No, I've never been anywhere outside the Five Elemental Nations." Kakashi said.

"You should come visit us in Bulgaria. Sense you are also here as a Foreign exchange student, it shouldn't be hard vor you to be accepted into Durmstrang." Victor said. Kakashi was taken back by the invitation, he hadn't thought that he had become well enough friends to be offered such a kind request.

"If not, you should at least make it to one of my games." Krum suggested.

"Games?" Kakashi asked.

"You know, Quittage." Vladimir said.

Kakashi had heard Harry and Ron mention Quittage a couple of times, but never really payed any attention to their conversations.

"I don't really know anything about Quittage." Kakashi admitted. The shocked faces on the teens faces made Kakashi feel slightly uncomfortable.

"Not to be rude, but are you a muggle born?" Krum asked.

"No, however I am not a wizard either. I'm a shinobi." Kakashi explained.

"That would make sense, considering you don't use our type ov magic." Deter said.

"So I guess vat means you haff never ridden on a broom before?" Victor said.

"No." Kakashi answered. Victor looked towards the other two teens, a small smile spreading across his features. Deter and Vladimir got the hint and also started smiling, Deter instantly stood up and left in a hurry.

"As a Vorld Cup champion, I shall gladly teach you how to fly a broomstick." Victor said. Kakashi didn't know how a broomstick could fly, but he didn't question it. There was still so much he didn't know about the Wizarding World. Deter came back wielding four black, sleek Broomsticks, handing one over to each boy.

Kakashi could feel Chakra running throughout the Broomstick, intrigued by the instrament.

"Alright, Kakashi." Victor said in a proud voice, Kakashi knew that Victor was more of an athlete than a scholar, so it made sense that Victor had more confidence talking about sports than other subjects. "Mount and grasp your broom tightly. The broom vill feel your energy and fly, following your mental instructions. It is important that you be virm and commanding, otherwise the broom vill do whatever it wants. Now, ven you want to fly, just command it to. I know that doesn't make sense now, but it vill later." Victor explained intelligently.

Kakashi completely agreed that it didn't make sense, however, nothing here did. He watched as Victor, Deter and Vladimir took off at a great speed, stopping to hover over the lake. Kakashi mentally commanded the broom to fly up to them, the broom instantly took off, gliding effortlessly through the air. Kakashi enjoyed the rush, telling the broom to speed up. He made it over to the others quickly, stopping to hover right next to them.

"Good, now you can follow us until you are more comfortable on the broom." Victor said, flying off towards the direction of the Forbidden Forrest. Kakashi followed him and the others around the Hogwarts grounds, enjoying every moment. He had become comfortable enough to perform somersaults and back flips, racing with the other teens. Kakashi guessed that they had spent two to three hours flying around the grounds.

"I should head back to Castle." Kakashi said, lowering down to the main deck. The others followed suit, landing soundlessly next to him. "Thank you for teaching me Victor." He said, shaking Victors hand.

"No problem, come again sometime." Victor said.

After Kakashi had bid good night to Victor, Vladimir and Deter he ran down to the courtyard without being spotted. He assumed that it was around 12:30 a.m. and he didn't want to risk being seen. Kakashi was eager to try Minato Sensei's Flying Thunder God technique again, since he had succeeded earlier during Potions class. He remembered that he had placed a marker drawn with Chakra on his bedpost. Harry and the others would be sound asleep and wouldn't even notice him comming in. The dorm was farther away than he was used to, but he still stretched his senses out to find the tag. Kakashi felt his Chakra connect to the tag, quickly teleporting before he lost the connection. However, he failed in actually landing on the tag, instead teleporting right under it, where he fell hard onto the stairs in Gryffindor Tower. To Kakashi's surprise and confusion, he fell right in front of Harry, succeeding in terrifying the teen for the second time that day.

"Bloody Hell!!!" Harry said loudly, stumbling back a bit. He had attempted to wait up for Kakashi to return from the Durmstrang's, but got to tiered to stay up past 12:00, deciding to go to bed. Harry glared down at Kakashi, who was cradling his left arm favorably. The silver haired 14 year old was laughing at Harry's reaction, attempting to stand up.

"Why the Hell are you teleporting out of nowhere!?" Harry asked in a harsh whisper.

"I did no want to get caught by teacher or Filtch, so I flew here. My goal to teleport to my bed, but instead flew under, landing on stairs." Kakashi said, breathing in deeply to catch his berath.

Harry forgot that Kakashi was still incapable of speaking proper English, the fragmented sentence and thick accent catching Harry off guard, causing him to laugh loudly. Harry had done his best earlier not to laugh at Kakashi, however, the circumstances were just so strange and hilarious that he couldn't help himself. Kakashi also began laughing, knowing exactly what had caused the boy-who-lived to loose all sense.

"We should go to bed." Kakashi said calming down, remembering what he was doing before.

"Alright." Harry said following Kakashi up the stairs to the dorm.
